Fixers (Beautiful_Disgrace and I)

"We are," Wizard said easily. "But we're not going to just ignore what we can find either, better to cover every angle than to ignore one. We're not doing this for charity."

"Exactly," Luce smirked. "Why, you riding Jean-Claude's dick?"

"No," Olivia said, a slight blush coming across her cheeks. "It's just...if we do anything to piss him off...he might not help me with something so..." Damn it, she really didn't want to explain this to perfect strangers.

"Uh huh," Luce said idly. "So what's in it for us to not do that, exactly?" she smirked. "There could be a lot of money in the odd little secret, sweetheart." Oh, amazing amounts of money...one little tip here, a whisper there...it'd be all kinds of cash raking in.

"Well...nothing, I guess.." Olivia couldn't believe this, why had she been so stupid? She should have just killed the kid and grabbed the android and ran. She was pretty sure though, that she wouldn't be able to fight against all three of them. Especially with her leg, goddamn it was still killing her. She sat down and crossed her arms, looking away. "Whatever. Do what you want."

She could only hope to God that Jean-Claude would understand she had nothing to do with this.

"Don't get all pouty," Luce smirked. "Scratch our back, and we scratch yours. You got something more valuable?" Wasn't really good business to backstab another Fixer, granted...it happened all of the time, on a regular basis. But there was an honor among some thieves.

"What makes you think I have something..?" Olivia asked as she watched the kid and Wizard staring at the screen...typing. Doing all that weird nerd stuff. She hoped they didn't fuck up.

It might be a little obvious that Olivia came from some kind of money. She was prim and proper when she was Rebecca Bryant, but Olivia was who she truly was. Rude, arrogant, someone who liked to put bullets in things. But it was hard for her to get the "rich snob" act completely out of her system when she did things like this.

"Because you act like you're better than everyone else," Luce said dryly. "Because you smell like rich, and we stink like gutter trash, and that makes your little nose perk up like you're the better person."

"Tch," Olivia narrowed her eyes and then folded her arms. "You're wrong, I'm not rich. If I was rich, why would I be doing jobs like this?" She was a pretty bad liar, she wouldn't even look at Luce when she answered and there was faintly nervous expression that crossed her face. She was..too prideful to ask her father for money. He had always given her everything she wanted, but she knew there were certain things he'd rather not have a hand in.

Her half brother was one of them.

"Oh please," Luce muttered. "Do you seriously think people become Fixers because they have no choice? Some do, but there's a lot of rich fucks who get bored and want an adrenaline rush. For people with money, not having a chip is merely a formality, isn't it?"

She had a point. Olivia did like doing this to some degree, but shooting things was just a bonus. "Fine, you got me. But that doesn't mean I have anything to offer. My family's assets don't belong to me, so I can't offer them. So just do whatever you want, I don't have anything worth offering personally."

"So what's got your cunt in a mess, girl?" Luce said, brow raised. "Why do you care? Trying to save your own ass?"

"No, I'm trying to save someone else. Not that you give a shit. So stop bugging me about it, already." Olivia growled as she glared at the floor. She knew how these people were, she knew they put themselves above anything else. So there was no point in explaining anything.

"I might give a shit if you gave me a decent reason," Luce said dryly. "But I'm not going to stick my neck out just because, girl. So you either tell me or we ignore it and dig up plenty of dirt to sell later."

Olivia glanced up at Luce, her cheeks extremely red. She never did like showing the kinder side of herself to anyone. "..My half brother has been in a coma for a few months after getting into a car accident. My father would rather see him dead then recover...and his mother doesn't have the money to keep him in the hospital for much longer...so I have been trying to find someone who could save him...and help him regain consciousness. Jean-Claude said he could help with that and so I've been working for him for a little while..he said if I did this, and capture or kill whoever meddled with him, he would finally do the surgery."

"Hm," Wizard mused thoughtfully as Luce glanced at him. Heartbreaking, certainly. It shown a side of her that Luce didn't really care one way or another about. "So you're being blackmailed to help, coma's some rough stuff. Takes a lot of money or a lot of magic to get that figured out...might know a few people-"

"Wait a minute," Luce muttered. "None of this is for us, Wizard...why in the hell should we care?" Wizard shrugged at that.

"If you have your own terms, Luce...state them. Otherwise, I don't see why we can't help her...it's all the same thing at the moment. Anything we uncover could be related to her brother anyway."

"I agree with Wizard. If it's not too much trouble, we should help her." Rayna told Luce. Of course she felt like she might be pushing it just a little...she just convinced Luce to let Cyrus stay. Still, what Olivia was saying...she felt bad for endangering her brother just so they could possible discover blackmail material. They could have just returned the android and got their regular payment.

"It'll always be trouble," Luce muttered. "But clearly, my opinion means shit about this, since we're all about being big goddamn heroes now," she snorted. "Do whatever the fuck you want, then, just don't expect me to help."

Well, that was the typical Luce answer that Wizard was expecting.

"...Fair enough then," he mused. "We'll see what we can find, Olivia."

"Thanks..." Olivia said after a while, though she wasn't entirely sure whether or not to trust them. The older guy seemed to mean well enough, but Luce? She didn't seem to be too on board with the idea. She still would have much preferred just doing what they were suppose to do in the first place.

"Okay, there we go." Cyrus began, paying little heed to their private conversation. "She's all open to us. I was specifically asked to retrieve her recorded memory data, which is right..here. It's downloading now."

"Terrific...but not what we're going to get any dirt for," Luce recalled dryly.

"Yeah yeah, I'm looking," Wizard sighed, turning back to his screen. "Kind of hard to sift through millions of minor financial records and hope you get a snag out of nothing, you know." It took time, patience...which Luce lacked in immense amounts. Either way, he'd look...see if anything interesting popped up.

"I figured if he was specifically looking for that file..there might be something there." Cyrus said with a shrug. "We can look at it later..." Or actually, he could just send it to Richter and cover his own ass. He could have done that, but he kept his idea quiet. He was too scared to ask them to for anything.

"Well, I suppose there isn't any harm in uploading the proper program into that barbie doll," Luce muttered. "Maybe she can shed some light on things, too. You know how to do that, kid?"

"Uh, yeah. She'll do what I tell her to do, except fight since I never properly programmed her to...I was working on that yesterday.." Cyrus scratched the back of his head.

"No shit, she's not a combat android." Olivia told him as she watched from the couch. What a creeper..bet he told her to do some pretty nasty things.

"Let's keep the combat out for now," Luce grimaced. "And any of your dirty sexual fantasies out while we're at it, I don't want to see you humping some steel ass, got it? She's information first."

"Don't you think I know that?! All we have to do is boot her up, and she'll talk to us. So whatever you guys did to turn her off, reverse it so she'll wake up." Cyrus responded as he folded his arms, his face going red with embarrassment. God, why did she always have to be so insulting? He knew that he couldn't do that anymore!

"Uh huh," Luce smirked. "That mean you've done stuff with her, you perv?" Boy, it was easy to push his buttons and make him squirm, wasn't it?
