Fixers (Beautiful_Disgrace and I)

"Rayna reminds me of her a lot, yeah." Aernir said as he took a seat on the floor, leaning his head back against the wall. What else to say? Wizard wasn't really a talkative guy. "Her name was Miyu. She was..pretty much the only light I had in my life back when I was in the Yakuza."

"Yeah...I know that feeling," Wizard mused. "I don't think I'd be willingly sitting here in some shitty building otherwise, but maybe we make more money and turn this place into something, eh?" Everyone had something they regretted, he supposed.

"Do you?" Such a statement...well Aernir couldn't really imagine him being anything other than what he was now. But then again, he didn't know Wizard very well. "Wasn't really sure there was a reason that you're like this, Wizard...didn't know it had anything to do with a girl."

"It's always a girl," Wizard sighed idly, knuckles resting against his cheek with a slightly bitter smile. "But look, I know the feeling...it's rough to see something like that and wonder why you can't have it...but that's life," he shrugged. "Can't help that, can you?"

"Suppose. Suppose God just made it a cruel fucking joke when he let me find Miyu..and then he took her from me." His hands started to ball up into fists before he shook his head. "No, it wasn't God. It was me." He got up from the floor. He needed to..be alone. Talking about her just made him angrier...he didn't know why.

"Hey, Aernir," Wizard said before he left. "Whoever, and however it happened...it's done now. Nothing that you feel is going to change that, and I doubt Miyu would want you doing this to yourself." Perhaps a bitter, nihilistic view, but ultimately true. Wizard had learned long ago to let go and just accept things for what happened. It wasn't always a popular opinion with Fixers, but it should be...some people did it because they had no other choice, or they wanted a change.

Aernir turned away from Wizard as he spoke to him. Let it go..they always told him to let it go. But he never could. He could..never pick up a sword again. Not without seeing the image of her dying again and again. "You're right. She wouldn't want to see me this way, Wizard. But honestly, I can't ever forgive myself for my sins." That was the last thing he could say before he went into his room.

He saw Miyu in Rayna. He saw everything about Miyu in that girl. It was comforting when she was around him, but when they were away...it was almost like torture.

He really wanted to be with Rayna right now.

Another job, another day. But it was nice to get into the swing of things. With a little extra reimbursement and some grumbling from Wrench, they were able to get the frame of the van back and into functional order. It wasn't stylish or pretty, but it had space and plenty of protection. Something about a missing android or something, the location took them to an old warehouse outside of New York, whatever it used to be...Luce would guess it was a former manufacturing plant, but all of the notable marks of the building were gone.

"...Creepy," Luce mumbled, glancing to Aernir. "This is the place, right?"

"Right." The voice that answered Luce was not Aernir's, but a rather dignified, feminine voice. A woman in her early twenties with dirty blonde hair and piercing gold eyes rounded the corner, her eyes on the three. "Oh..that's it huh? A bony twig and two girls? Thought the group would be a little more impressive than this..."

"And you are?" Aernir asked, raising an eyebrow. This was the supposed partner they'd be meeting up with more than likely, but they never caught her name.

"Olivia." The woman answered as she bowed slightly with a sarcastic grin. "At your service, Twiggy."

"Oh, good," Luce muttered, arms crossed. She cut quite the intimidating figure in her combat gear, weapons holstered on her hips and back. "You're our help?" She immediately didn't like her, but that probably wasn't too surprising.

"Nope, you're my help. I actually work for your Johnson directly, and I'm here to make sure I retrieve his toy undamaged and functional. I just needed a little back up to do that since I can get rough when I'm alone." Olivia turned her back, and Aernir could see that large rifle she carried on her back. It was actually pretty fancy looking..had an antique look to it. But it was definitely something unique, that was for sure. Custom.

"Alright...well...don't really see why you need help for one robot. Is she even in here?" Aernir asked, scratching the back of his head. He didn't really like this woman either, but at least she was easy on the eyes. Rayna wasn't really paying much attention to the girl, but rather looking up at the building with a curious stare.

"Something smells funky to me," Rayna grimaced. "We should be careful, but I'm sure you know that, little miss perfect?"

"Of course...And I don't know if she's here or not, that's what we're here to find out." She snapped as she headed up the stairs to the building. She attempted to open the door, but it was locked. That wasn't too out of the ordinary for a warehouse, but this thing was locked locked. By an actual security system from the looks of it.

Aernir came from behind and saw no keyholes, nothing for him to pick. "Huh, odd for an abandoned building."

Wizard? Luce asked through the squad link, there was a faint sigh before he hesitated. Yeah, gimme a second...the encryption is triple locked, which is surprising, given that-

Fuck's sake, Wizard, Luce grumbled. Nobody cared, it just needed open. "One second," Luce said to the spoiled little cunt they were stuck with.

"Whatever," Olivia said as she tapped he foot on the pavement. She would have found a way in one way or the other, but...this worked too. If there was anything in this building, she wanted their presence to be a surprise.

Rayna joined them after a moment, looking at Olivia as if she had just noticed she was there. "I can tell you what's inside..."

"What's inside, Rayna?" Luce asked casually, checking the chamber of her shotgun a moment before flicking the safety off. She had gotten used to Rayna's random...things, every so often she'd just talk about something. It was kind of creepy, but she was starting to realize it wasn't 'something', it was usually 'someone'.

Olivia raised an eyebrow at Rayna. This was the mage girl, huh? Wonder how she could get a reading on the damn place when they couldn't.

"Lots of machines, androids, robots..they have all seem to wander here over time. Not sure if they are all still functioning or not...there is someone controlling them."

"Terrific," Luce muttered, ample timing as the electronic lock clicked open and she moved forward. "Alright, Miss Perfect. Stay behind me. Aernir knew how to handle himself and Rayna, and Rayna...well, Luce just trusted her to know the safest place to be. Weird feeling, but they had...bonded like that. A lot of sex helped too, admittedly. "Whatever we're looking for, make sure we don't kill it, everything else is target practice."

Olivia scoffed at that, rolling her eyes. Stay behind her? That was ridiculous. "No, unless you want to end up with bullets in your back, toots." Aernir grimaced at that. These two were...way too similar and different at the same time. Hopefully they could tolerate it until the mission was done and they could go their separate ways.

"It would be wise to stay close to Luce, Olivia. And me. Those machines will attack with some sort of ammunition. Aernir is quick enough to avoid it. I don't think you can though." Rayna advised as she followed Luce."

Toots?. Luce resisted the urge to grimace, mostly because Olivia was outnumbered in opinion and outgunned. Casualty of a job, happened all the time, right? Either way, Luce sunk her fingers into the door and pushed a fraction open to stick her shotgun muzzle through first before she pushed it a little wider, shoulder wedging in before she pushed through. Whatever the place was...it was quiet, and dark. Not even the sounds of rats skittering around, that never meant well. Regardless, she gave it a casual sweep before turning back to the door and pushing the door open with a faint grunt, toned arms tightening as she spread it wide.

"In," Luce ordered with a grunt.

Olivia was annoyed..these girls thought they could order her around. They clearly didn't know who they were messing with..but it didn't matter. The money was worth working with these losers.

The minute she was inside, her eyes swept the place, but it was hard to see in the dark. The entire place smelled...dusty too. Like no one had been around. But according to the little mage, there was someone here, along with other androids.

Aernir was glad that he could at least see in the dark...though he was sure whatever they were up against could see too..so he didn't have much of an advantage. "Rayna, could you give us some light?" He asked her. Rayna nodded and then summoned a large fire ball that burned so brightly that it lit up most of the entire first floor. Scattered tables, chairs and cubicles...but the most disturbing thing about it was...all the scraps of old machines and robots and androids. It was like a graveyard of parts...and some of it looked human but was obviously cybernetic.

"Well, guess this is the metal equivalent of a meat house," Luce mumbled, her Saiga shouldered. She sight caught limbs and skeleton frames, mouths agape and eyes wide open. Ugh, creepy. It was too quiet, their footsteps echoed too far, their voices carried far too much.

"So, what are we looking for, exactly?" She mumbled. "Because these are all androids, it looks like."

"She doesn't look anything like this. She looks completely human...pretty girl. Long white hair...big violet eyes, supple mouth. She was last seen wearing a white dress...These things look old." Olivia kicked the head of a broken robot over to the staircase. The elevator wasn't going to be an option in a building like this. Nothing moved, so she figured it was safe to move on. She started heading towards the staircase, pulling out her rifle. She liked to call him Damian...lovely little dear that killed things so easily for her.

"Olivia wait.." Rayna started, though she just glared back at Rayna and gestured towards the staircase. The android they were looking for wasn't here.

"What is it?" Luce asked Rayna curiously, glancing around. Fuck that prissy bitch, the three of them stuck together because they didn't want to die without someone to watch them. "Smell something, Rayna?" Better her idea than Oliva's, at this point.

"I don't know. It's just...something isn't right..." Rayna told Luce as she looked around. Something was..moving. She just didn't know what.

"Come on..we shouldn't be wasting time here! We need to find that thing, and fast. This place is giving me the creeps.." Olivia started as she stepped on a large piece of metal that suddenly snaked out from under her foot. She nearly cried out in surprise...but nothing came after that. The arm just disappeared in a pile of parts.

"What the fuck..?" Aernir began as he looked around for anything else that might have been alive.
