"I want to merry her tonight so i can free her from this town and her bad memories. Then once we are home and settled down a bit more i will have a one of those grand ceremonies that i know she wants. " He stayed standing looking at her father he was right it was quite the decision but he was going to do it. He already knew he wanted to be with her up to this point he had no choice he knew this was what she needed.

He arched an eyebrow at him and leaned back with a sigh, slowly closing his eyes. "You are not the first man who came asking for her hand." he said softly. "That man that just left... he was seeking to marry her as well. He'd asked several times before, but every time he receives the same reply." A thoughtful look passed over his face as he sat there, slowly swirling his drink in his glass before he took a drink with a sigh. "Have you asked Faye?"

"Well that man is asking her father to marry his daughter. I am telling her father that his daughter wants to marry me. I asked her moments before walking into your office she told me to ask you. " He spoke softly reaching back and adjusting his cloak wanting it to fall more properly. "Sir i know the looks your daughter is getting and they can drive a person insane. Please don't delay to long in making your decision, I will leave you to your thoughts for now i want to get back to her in case she wakes up. " He said softly turning and moving slowly walking to the door taking a deep breath and heading back up to her room.

Bernard chuckled softly at Andre's remark before smiling slightly when he heard that he had gone to Faye first. Since he had done that, Bernard knew that he was serious about this. He slowly nodded in agreement and understanding as Andre explained. "I will think about this for a little bit." he said softly before watching the young man leave the room.
Up in her bedroom, Faye was still fast asleep but she seemed to be having a bad dream. There was a frown on her lips and she was gripping her covers tightly in her fingers.

Andre ran up the stairs looking to the nurse urging her to come inside. "I need you to come inside with me so you can witness nothing bad happening. " With that he went into the room taking off his cloak and taking his knife sheath and all out of his pants and crawled into bed with her. Hiding the blade under the pillow they now shared, his hand remaining on it as he slipped his arm under her head. He smiled as he laid over the covers draping his arm around her stomach and kissing her neck lightly. "It is okay love your safe now." He said softly laying his head down to drift off on his own.

The nurse was sitting in front of the fire in the sitting room of Faye's rooms, embroidery in her hands. When he came into the room, she looked up as he told her to come into the room. Sighing, she picked up the basket that held her embroidery supplies and silently followed him into Faye's bedroom where the girl was sleeping. Moving over to the chair that sat near Faye's fireplace, she sat her things down and sat. When Andre laid with her, Faye moved in her sleep so she was facing Andre some more before sighing when he draped his arm over her stomach and kissed her neck. When he did that, she relaxed again and returned to a deep sleep.

"Thank you nurse i owe you greatly. " He said smiling now that she had relaxed his heart lifting as she seemed to be happier. He knew the weight on her shoulder would never go away he only hoped to bear that load with her. He soon drifted off and held her tightly threw the night hoping that tomorrow they would be wed and on their way to his home city so she could be free of everything that haunted her.

The nurse merely nodded as she continued with her embroidery. She had been working on her wards dowry for years and this would be one of the finishing pieces for the girls wedding veil. After Fayes mother died, Nurse had merely taken up the work of embroidering things for Faye. Her mother had already done a dress even though Faye hadn't grown all the way yet. When Andre came around, she had a feeling that a wedding would be close behind.

All through the night Bernard remained awake, thinking about his daughter and the life she would have if he denied Andre's request and it all looked bleak. The only way he could see his daughter truly happy again was if he allowed them to wed and to leave their little town. Sighing, he pinched the bridge of his nose before looking at the portrait of his family. He had lost his wife and son in childbirth and now he was loosing his little girl. The next morning found the house bustling, maids hurrying around doing things while the cooks made breakfast.

Andre slept soundly holding the girl he loved tightly he was going to break his word to her for the first time. Waking early he slipped from the bed with her kissing her cheek lightly before slipping from the house entirely. He needed to go buy her an engagement ring and a wedding ring for them both if he was to do this properly. He made his way slowly down stares taking note of way everyone was bustling around.

Faye felt him pull away and she softly whimpered before she felt him kiss her cheek and she sighed as she was left alone. Nurse turned in the seat and watched him leave before standing and moving to the bed, adjusting the covers around the young woman before returning to her work. She returned to working on her embroidery, finally finishing it not long before she had to wake Faye for her morning bath. She heard maids bringing up hot water and she carefully folded the veil just as the women came in. While they filled the bath, she woke Faye and in a matter of minutes the girl was in the rose scented bath.

He smiled able to tell that her father had said yes before he even left the building. He moved quickly to the jeweler's store and finding 3 very beautiful rings. All 3 platinum with many diamonds in them and a large diamond in the center of her engagement ring. He returned having stopped to purchase a new suit just in case her father was planning a larger wedding then he was. Coming back with his clothing in a small bag and the rings stuffed into his pocket knocking on the front door.

When he knocked on the door, it opened seconds later by the same maid that answered the door the day before and she smiled up at him. "Oh, welcome back sir." she said softly. "Please, come in. The master has requested to speak to you before breakfast. He is in his office at the moment." She stepped back so he could enter.

"Could you please hang this up in Faye's room i bought a new suit. " He smiled stepping inside handing her the small package before stepping past her and heading to the office. He knocked and walked inside his hand slipping into his pocket to toy with the rings lightly. Nervously he walked into the room and stood there calmly for a moment. " Hello sir. "

Nodding, the maid took it and rushed off with it to put it away. In his office, Bernard was looking at a paper when he entered. Glancing up, he smiled at the young man. "Ah, hellow Andre." he said gently. "Now, I'll get straight to the point. I stayed up all night thinking about your request and I came to a decision. I give you permission to marry my daughter." he said while placing the papers down. "You can have the small ceremoney but a nice dinner is a must. I have the cooks creating a nice meal for tonight. It'll be family and close personall friends as well as some of the help. Then I've arranged for a you both to have a carriage so Faye will be kept warm no matter what. The maids are already packing some of her things. I hope you don't mind."

He smiled brightly as he spoke his heart beating faster and faster as he spoke about allowing them to get married. " And soon once we get home i will send word and we can have a grand ceremony that will make her blush till the day she dies. " He smiled and walked over giving Bernard a firm hug before turning and signing the paperwork before turning to leave the room. "I shall see you shortly then. I need to give my future wife her engagement ring. Can you summon the priest and who ever you need to summon?" He smiled and scampered from the room and up to Faye's room knocking nervously on the door wanting to speak to her immediately.

Bernard nodded slowly. "I shall try to attend the grand ceremony, however I don't know if I can. I have caught word that there are troubles over sea with some of my partners and I've been called away." he said to him. "I can just hope I'll be home in time." He was a little surprised when he hugged him. "Yes. I will summon them." He watched the young man leave before sitting back down and returning to his work.

Upstairs in her room, Faye had just finished her bath and was currently getting dressed when he knocked. One of the maids helping her and nurse moved into the sitting room and opened the door. "Please come in. The young miss is currently dressing. She'll be done shortly. You can make yourself comfortable in the mean time." She stood back and motioned towards the couch, chaise lounge and chair that were available.

He moved inside quickly but thanking them with a gentlemanly smile. He did not however make himself comfortable everything was going so fast he was so nervous. Here he was rings in his pocket getting ready to get married when only 2 months ago he had never thought he would find love. Shaking his head he began to pace hoping he was making the right decision. He did not have butterflies in his stomach by any means, he had terrodactals.

The maid moved over to the bedroom door and poked her head inside, telling Nurse and Faye that he was there before leaving the rooms. About ten minutes later Faye emerged from her bedroom. She was dressed in a simple day dress. It was a light pink and cream color and her hair was pulled up. "Hello Andre." she said softly while approaching him, smiling fondly at him. She was wearing some of the jewelry he had given her.

He smiled and reached into the pocket finding the ring he was looking for in by griping the large diamond. He walked over to her leaning in to kiss her softly placing his hands on her sides." Have you spoke to your father yet today? Or heard the news?" He said a bit nervously praying he would not be the one to tell her as he spoke his hand revealed the ring and slipped it onto her finger silently telling her they where engaged.

She tilted her head back a little and kissed him back with a soft sigh, running her fingers over his jaw until he placed his hands on her sides. "No. I've just woken up and finished bathing not too long ago." she said softly before looking down to see him open his hand and her smile spread and she looked up quickly with wide eyes as he slid the ring onto her finger. Smiling up at him, she wrapped her arms around his neck in a gentle hug. "Oh, I'm so happy that he said we can marry." she whispered to him and she softly kissed him on his cheek before looking at her hand, glancing at the ring that now sat on her finger. "It's beautiful Andre." she said.

"Only an accent to the beauty that wears it. " He smiled kissing her again glad he could make her so happy with such a simple gesture. "The priest will be here soon to marry us and we will be leaving for my home tonight. Once there i want to wait for your father to return from his business and then i will hold the grandest wedding you can imagine. Every one of your dreams will be fulfilled." He smiled kissing her yet again now that it was proper for him to kiss her as they where engaged. "I need to put my suit on and you need to put on something appropriate for the situation. " He smiled winking playfully and giving her side a light poke.

She giggled as she blushed, smiling at him before he kissed her once again. She listened to him as he told her that the priest will be there soon and she slowly pulled back from him. "The priest won't be here until sometime this afternoon." she said softly. "The only priest left in town lives in the church all the way across town and it's still early in the morning." She chuckled when he kissed her again before squirming a little when he poked her in the side. "Faye is right." Nurse said from the door way. "Besides, her father will wish her to wear a new dress for the occasion. Nothing too fancy or grand, but something a little nicer then her day dresses. But in the mean time, breakfast awaits."

He smiled and slipped his arm around her before reaching into his pocket again pulling out the ring he had bought for himself. A thick band of platinum with a small groove in it where a thin line of diamonds rested he smiled and placed it into her hand for her to hold. "I hope you don't mind but i bought my own wedding ring since i did not know if you would have time. Here you hold on to it for me. " He smiled leaning in and kissing her neck lightly whispering into her ear."Are you excited to married love?" He smiled leading her from the room and down to the dinning room quickly a bright smile on his face.

Holding her hand out, she took the ring from him with a small smile. "No, I don't mind holding onto it." she said softly before pulling a long chain out of the bodice of her dress. Letting it go, it was revealed to be a rather sizable pendant that hung on a gold chain around her neck, the end of the chain reaching just a little past her breasts. It was clearly old and she unhooked clasped it from around her neck, slipping the ring onto it before putting it back on. "I shall keep it safe." she said while tucking the pendant back into her dress. She shivered little when he kissed her neck before nodding. "Yes, I am excited." she whispered back to him while letting him lead her out of the room and down to the dinning room where her father was waiting.

He smiled pulling her chair out and waiting for her to be seated before pushing in her chair. Once she was seated he sat next to her his hand finding her side and rubbing it gently making a mental note to ask her about that pendant. He smiled looking at her and giving her side a gentle squeeze staring into her eyes. "When will the ceremony be ready Bernard. " He asked softly looking over at him wanting to be on his way as quickly as he could longing to be on his own again.
