“Don’t apologize.” Dru said waving his hand casually, “Marcus is worse than you in a moral and ethical way if you go by societal standards. He chose this life over the other options available to him at the time because he considered them worse and he currently oversees a vast majority of the training that goes on with our products. In a sexual way you were repressed, or rather repressed it yourself for the sake of your relationship with your parents, and he had more freedom. That’s more of a habitual thing than you putting up a front, especially if you’ve been doing it for some time while also considering the emotional impact. Those topics are all relative and based on opinion, like everything. Essentially though, he lashed out in an emotional fit due to a misunderstanding.” Dru said without pause the moment Oliver was finished talking, certain of it. It was his turn to roll his eyes, his fingers drumming against his arms, thinking. “Not sure why you being a prick or a liar would bother him since I’m the embodiment of both, which he seems to adore.”
He pondered a little more as he turned back to the kitchen taking a deep breath, smelling the appealing aroma that had begun to fill the dining room. He hummed softly, his fingers stilling. He turned back towards Oliver, seemingly more pleasant. “I still have to correct Marcus for disregarding your position, regardless of if you felt it was permissible. I will take it into consideration of the punishment though, if that should ease your mind. I also need to use this opportunity to make an example of him and let everyone know where you stand, because I’ve been rather misleading up to this point about your position.”
Dru had turned back towards the kitchen, his stomach suddenly rumbling as he waited for the meal. Thankfully a moment later, Maximus came out with Dru’s meal -rare steak with a side of chive mashed potatoes- and Oliver’s meal. Oliver had been given something similar to Dru, it was a smaller steak, well done, white a side of the same chive mashed potatoes as well as some freshly steamed green beans. Dru made a purring noise from the back of his throat as Maximus put the food down in front of him, eyeing it up. “Thank Amy for me Max. Would you get us a bottle of a dry red wine as well? I don’t care about the particulars tonight.” Dru said picking up his utensils and beginning to dig in.
