Anna's eyes shifted over to Rhys, and she offered him a smile. She knew, just by the looks of him, that he spent a lot of time worrying and blaming himself. She hated that for him, and if she could, she'd go back in time and never go shopping at all.
"Rhys," she whispered through the mask that covered her mouth. Her breathing was stable for now, considering she had was on pain medication, but it was labored. She definitely needed the machine she was on, even if it was inconvenient. All she wanted was to kiss him and make him feel better, but she could barely move, and that upset her more than anything... Gently, she reached her hand toward him.
Winston leaned in to Nyx and pressed his face into her shoulder. "I hate seeing him like that," he murmured, "He is still a little kid to me, you know. And he doesn't deserve to hurt this much." He swallowed and pulled away from her, looking her in the eyes. "He'll be with her for a while. Why don't we go down to the cafeteria? I don't want to leave, but I'm hungry."
