Ophelia grinned happily, nodding and walking with him down the flight of stairs. She smiled and looped her arm through his as the guests turned to look at them, bowing at the emperor's presence. She was sure that she'd never get used to attention like that, but she'd try for Valerian... Once down stairs, Ophelia looked over to her brother and smiled. "He's talking to his new in laws," she said, looking amused. She really had never imagined Alec getting married, but it was nice to see... "I'll make sure to get his attention after dinner is served. I can't wait to give him his gift," she said, sounding excited. She was a little ball of energy tonight, making her not think about all the people surrounding her and giving her looks of criticism.
Alec leaned down to kiss Lady Serena's cheek, the grabbed a glass for both Iris and himself. "I am a lucky man, my lord," he said, smiling at Lord Cleotys. His arm went to wrap around Iris' waist, pulling her closer. "We are planning for a summer wedding, I do believe. I can't wait to have her as my wife." He took a sip of his drink, looking across the room at Phedre as she served drinks. Luckily, there was no sign of Anthony yet, but he was still nervous.
