A Dark Moon [Vampire07 & Eyesoffire]

Joe wasn't sure what to make of it. He turned to see the object, but squinted, unsure of what it was. He placed a hand on Lillian's shoulder, just in case. "What...is that?" He asked quietly.

"Its Dana." She said with a soft smile. "Mores code. She and the other pack are waiting." She said with a smile. "Its my grandfather's pack and they are MASSIVE in numbers and size." She said softly but there was still a distance to cover. "Mad dash to them? For a plan then bull rush the structure?"

"Morse code..." Joe pursed his lips. Of course, with a mirror. It made sense now. He nodded at her suggestion and sprinted towards them. Soon enough, after sprinting through bushes and around tree trunks they came upon Dana and some other wolves. Joe stood up, trying to catch his breath. He looked around, there were already quite a few wolves here. He turned to Lillian. "Is your grandfather still alpha of this pack?" He inquired. "Maybe we should talk to him?"

Following him as she ran into Dana's arms who held her tightly. Lillian nodded to Joe. "He is. My father was suppose to take his position when he dies but...I'm next in line for this pack as well. Welcome to my world." She said as she walked past Joe leading him through the group to an old werewolf who was grayish black. "Grandpa..." She wrapped her arms around him as he held her tightly.

"Lil Lily..." He spoke softly as he was weak and sick. "I'm happy you're safe...What is the plan?"

Dana walked over with Joe. "I know these ranges and they are using vent through the funnels and if we basically over load them they will fall."

"Dana, they have a gas that will overwhelm anyone to mate on the spot. We need something to cancel the scent." She thought about it but her Grandpa patted her shoulder.

"Blood. Soak your muzzles in it and you can't get the scent other than blood." He coughed hard. ut Lily turned helping him to sit down as he was in his 100s range.

Joe walked up to the old werewolf. "He's got a point. If we dip our snouts in blood it will overwhelm out sense of smell, we won't be able to fall prey to the gas they release." He looked at the old wolf. It was clear he was wise, and had many, many years of experience as an alpha. He also looked somewhat like Lillian. He could tell Lillian was his descendant. Joe tilted his head, he would like to have spent some time with the old wolf, perhaps learn a thing or two along the way.

"We should hunt, a deer or boar...something." He looked at Lillian, "Or should we rest?" He wondered.

Lillian shook her head but her grandpa patted her shoulder. "You kiddo need to sleep even as a pup you pushed beyond your limits. Your mate can see you're way beyond your limit. Dana will stay here and Frank will pair off with your mate. No one goes in alone." He said seeing her relax as Dana walked over.

"Thomas... Johnny...Grab some deer. A big one." He grinned as he watched the pair run off sniffing and moving they knew if they can't find deer then a cow it was. Shortly they came back with a cow then dropped it on the ground. There was a right of passage the Joe didn't go through since it was the Alpha male passes on to the newest Alpha male. The old wolf watched them soak their muzzles in the blood but he dipped his fingers into the blood and moved to Joe. In silence he made some strokes across his chest then a drop of blood on his forehead. "You're a true alpha now."

Joe frowned and looked down at his chest. He watched the blood glistening on his fur. He nodded silently. "Yes," He said softly, looking up at the older wolf. "Yes, it's true...I have so much to learn." He smiled at the older alpha and looked at the cow. Joe moved up to it. "I know Lillian will want to be a part of saving the pack." He said to the others. "It's best if you two only scout the area and come back with information. Please, she wants to be a part of this and I cannot go in until she is fully recovered." He turned to Lillian's grandfather. "You understand, don't you?"

He nodded but he wrapped his arm over his shoulder whispering into his ear. "You know the reason for me marking you with blood? Its a ritual of an alpha marking a new male into the role as acceptance. When and if you two have pups and she decides its the girl who takes alpha then you will have to judge her choice of mate...IF you accept him then you mark him the way I marked you." He looked to him. "This is an old dying way of our life."

Lillian sat there now feeling her body giving out from lack of sleep and proper food as they basically gave them was rejected meat from the slaughter house. "Joe make sure your muzzle is soaked." she said as the group and even Dana moved scouting the areas in their wolf forms. Once she felt on the better side she cupped the blood and rubbed it in her white muzzle. She looked over seeing Joe had been marked by her grandfather. Smiling as she knew Joe felt like something was missing maybe it was acceptance from a family member of hers.

Joe didn't move until Lillian was ready to go out, he knew how badly she wanted to free her pack, and so he waited for her, he waited until she was ready to go out.

Once she had blood on her muzzle, he did the same, soaking it well. Soon enough the air around him smelt heavily of blood. He took Lillian aside between some trees. "Your grandfather accepted me to be your mate." He smiled. "It's strange, really, I never knew this existed, but I'm glad to be seen a good by your family. He said you're the one who decides which of our pus will be alpha...and if it's a female then I am the one who decides on her mate. I never knew the old ways were like this. I'm learning so much."

Lillian smiled with her taking his hands. "Joe, I think this is what you've been missing. Having the sense a member of the bloodline has accepted as an addition." She said as she moved kissing him as she tasted blood as well from them soaking their muzzles. "My father couldn't perform this on you but I'm grateful my grandfather did." She said as she heard howling which was so soft a human couldn't hear it. "Lets go."

Lillian ran out with her following him as everyone about fifty werewolves were charging the structure. Those who were stronger were out first slamming into walls tearing at them where Lillian and Joe leaped through the wholes.

Joe turned to look back to see Lillian behind him and a few other werewolves. Good, they'd be useful against the metal arms. During the fight the werewolves' bloodlust got higher, increasing their strength and giving them more speed. Werewolves loved battle and being in one made them even stronger.

The crawled through the holes in the vents until he jumped down into their old cell. Joe didn't waste time, he sprinted to the walls and slammed his shoulder against it, cracking the glass. "Keep hitting the walls!" He roared as other wolves slammed into it as well, until the glass shattered and they were able to go and help the members of the older pack.

Joe moved beside Lillian. "Let them free the others and fight the arms, we need to save that pup." He said, as he looked up at the office the human scientists were in.

The humans were trying to send the gas out but the large number pack wasn't affected by it. "What the hell?!" They noticed blood on their muzzles and they seemed to enlarge themselves and soon they saw Joe and Lillian in the office. Before anyone could grab the pup Lily was already at the crib grabbing the child. A man aimed a gun at Lily who held the crying infant in her arms.

"JOE!" She yelled out in fear as she rarely let fear to be known to others.

Joe saw the man before Lillian yelled and he sprinted at him tackling him to the ground right after Lillian had said his name. He tore the man's arm off, it still held onto the gun. Joe turned around and looked at Lillian to make sure she and the pup were alright. He looked around and sniffed the air. "Where are the other scientists?" He asked Lillian, still sniffing. "We should hurry and find them before more men with guns arrive.

He looked down below to see all the werewolves breaking free and tearing apart the metal arms.

Lillian held the pup to her chest as he was crying. She wanted to run out of there because to her they done their part. "Joe, I'll get Junior out of here and you and the others take care of the humans. I'm afraid if I went on the attack with the baby he will be back in danger." She told him as two of the older werewolves rushed through past her.

"Hurry up Joe!" One snapped at him as they couldn't get the humans' scent.

Joe tossed a table over, but roared in fury as there was nothing underneath it. "It's the blood, it's not allowing us to have their scent." He turned to the two werewolves. "Forget about me, make sure Lillian and the pup get back to the pack alive!" He ordered before tearing through the office and sprinting back down towards the rest of his escaping pack.

A few minutes later Joe was running up the mountainside, looking down and watching all the werewolves pour out of the building. A part of it was smoking, and most of it looked like ruins. He smiled and turned back. The scientists couldn't be found, but it made no matter right now, they'd freed the pack and the pup, just like they intended. Joe got on all fours and sprinting back to his Lillian.

Lillian was shocked about him destroying everything. Him and the pack seemed to have destroyed the computers and such. Lillian was lead out with the pup to her chest running on three limbs. Lillian was in the center with her grandfather who looked wounded. Growling she sent Tyson out with Dustin to kill the humans. When Joe arrived she pointed. "That way!"

She passed the pup to Dana and she tried to stop the bleeding on her grandfather who smiled at her.

"You're so much like your father. Commanding, no bull shit and yet like your mother." He was weak but while everyone was moving about he used his blood marking her as the alpha of his group before passing on.

Joe frowned as he looked down, carrying the body of Lillian's grandfather. "You should know I respect him, Lillian...tremendously." Joe said, placing a hand gently on his mate's shoulder. "I only wish I could have met him earlier, and gotten a chance to know him." He whispered.

The werewolves gathered around the deceased alpha, forming a group around him as they looked on. Then one of them howled in mourning, others joined in, even more, until they were all howling a lament into the night sky. Joe laid his body onto the floor and pulled Lillian into a tight, but loving hug

Lillian was crying at this point with her holding on to him. She didn't howl with them as another member of her family had passed away because of humans. Though nearby was the female human who loved watching them fuck and be fucked. Her body was gutted but she was the one who fired the gun.

"Lets...Lets take him back to the pack and bury him." She said weakly as the males nodded picking the body up as Dana held the crying boy. Lillian grabbed him from her in a protective way. "Daniel....After my grandfather." She said looking to Joe as she called the baby junior as she didn't know what to call him.

"Yes, we'll call him Daniel." Joe said, placing a hand on his head and smiling down at the pup while he wrapped an arm around Lillian's shoulders. He kissed his mate on the cheek and whispered in her ear. "Stop your crying, Lillian." he said lovingly, "your grandfather has no more worries, his spirit is free to do as he wishes."

They went back to where the pack lived and buried him in the middle of a beautiful meadow so that he could be one with nature. Joe looked around to see that their pack was large, everyone was here. It was a strange feeling for him, on the one hand he was happy to be back with Dana and Fiona and the others, but on the other, he knew Lillian was grieving for grandfather, and he wanted to make her feel better.

Lillian couldn't help but cry. "They'll stop on their own." She said as she carried the boy all the way there and while they buried her last family member. The sun was rising by now and they could see the small town that was destroyed basically where they were starting over. "Another home gone."

"What do you mean?" One female asked as she pointed to her markings. "Your home is here among us." She turned Lillian and Joe showing them the large self sustaining town Lillian's family created. "The large home at the top of the hill is your home."

Lillian looked to Joe in shock. "It does look like everyone feels safe here..."

"The town looks good and clean too." He said looking to Lillian. "The perfect place to raise a family." He sighed and looked at the pup. "Our family."

The werewolves moved down to the town to find some of the older generation of werewolves doing a few chores, clearly they had decided to stay back and take care of the young ones while the others who could fight went off to free Lillian, Joe and their smaller pack.

"I'm sure the others would love it here, I can hear water, there must be a waterfall nearby, the place is very clean and welcoming." Joe said, turning to the female who had pointed them to the town. "It seems like the pack as been here a while. You all keep it very well."

Joe looked at the house on the hill. It was clearly large, and old, but it was maintained very well. He snaked his arm around Lillian's waist and pulled her and young Daniel to him. "Welcome home, love."

Lillian looked down at Daniel who was sleeping by now though she looked up at Joe. "Joe, I meant what I said back there. About not taking the herb anymore." She said with him holding the pair to him. The house looked like someone designed it to welcome in natural sun light. Winter was coming fast and this town had its supplies with cattle, rabbits and chickens plus more.

Walking around she saw it was large on the inside and meant for a large family. Finding the baby room she laid Daniel down touching his hair. When she told Joe she can stop taking the herb now if he wanted to try to have a child with her, she spoke with a clear mind and a lighter heart.

"This is an even better place to raise a family." He said, looking around at the large house before stepping inside of it and exploring the rooms. "We don't have to have many pups...after one or two...you can go back on the herb if you don't want me to impregnate you when you go into heat." He said to Lillian, walking up to her and pulling her out of the room to let Daniel sleep alone and in peace. "Thank you, thank you for thinking I can be a good father." He whispered and kissed Lillian deeply.

Lillian returned the kiss as he held her in his strong hands. "I always thought you would make one. I wasn't sure about myself as a mother." She said with her nuzzling him. "I'll be going in full blown heat in four weeks...When the moon is full." She whispered as if she was telling him a dirty, naughty secret. Smiling as she laced her fingers with his own. "I won't bring the herb into this house or sneak it." She winked to him as she wanted a family with him.

Joe grinned at her, "I like the way you think...do you remember the first time you were in heat?" He asked her quietly. "How you had to be tied up in a cave while we fought off the other pack...and how you tore into me when I came to you." he kissed her neck. "Hmmm...you could be so dangerous in four weeks." He said, grinning. "I look forward to it, lover."

Joe looked out the window and turned back to Lillian. "I know this place is well stocked for the winter, but perhaps we should get the supplies from the old town here as well, especially since we have so many more wolves to feed."
