Meeting at the Outdoor Market (Closed to Ryanmo97 and notexactlyaverage)

Ryan smiled, "Taylor never told me what happened to her father. I hope you don't mind me asking. If it's something you'd rather not discuss we don't have to talk about it.

Elise paused for a second before speaking again. "He left when Taylor and Samuel were young. He left a note saying he had to get away, and that he was going to South America and wasn't coming back. We never heard from him again..." As she finished speaking a hushed silence came over the table.

Ryan understood why Elise asked if his feelings for Taylor were going to change, "I'm sorry if I brought up some bad feelings..." He took a hold of Elise's hand. "I promise I will never leave your daughter like your husband left you. He wasn't a man. He was a coward."

Elise smiled at Ryan. "Thank you. That means a lot to me, I don't want to see her getting hurt like I did," Smiling at her mother across the table, Taylor slipped her hand into Ryan's free hand and kissed his cheek gently, silently thanking him.

Ryan smiled and returned the kiss on Taylor's cheek, "So, Elise... You were saying that you might have some more questions for me and maybe Taylor at dinner..." Ryan continued to eat.

Elise nodded, smiling at the couple. "Yes, now I'm assuming that in the future you are planning on having children? Forgive me as to be so bold, but if Taylor fell pregnant earlier than you would like, what would be your reaction?" Elise asked, a very similar question to the one Taylor had asked a few nights ago.

"Well, I don't know about Taylor..." said Ryan, "But, I would be happy at any time she got pregnant. If it turned out she couldn't have kids then I would still stay with her..." He gave Taylor a kiss on the cheek.

With a small blush spreading into her cheeks, Taylor smiled softly as he kissed her cheek. After a few more questions, Elise nodded and smiled. "I can see that you two are deeply in love with each other. I must say, I was wary at first, but now that I've met you I'm a lot happier with your relationship."

Ryan smiled, "Thank you Elise... That makes me very happy... And since I have you both here... there is something I'd like to do." Ryan stood up and then he got down on one knee. He took a ring box out of his pocket and he opened it and showed her the ring inside, "Taylor Olivia Woods... will you marry me?"

Gasping as Ryan produced the ring from his pocket, Taylor immediately began to nod, smiling. "Yes, yes of course I'll marry you!" Watching as he slid the ring onto her finger, she smiled, wiping back a stray tear of happiness.

Ryan smiled as she said 'yes' he slipped the ring on her finger and stood up to kiss her. "I love you so much, Taylor..." He looked at Elise and Sam. "Thank you both for being here... I wanted to meet you both and made sure you both were happy with me before I proposed. The one thing I would want to do is drive a wedge between Taylor and her family."

Elise smiled at Ryan as Sam stood up to shake his hand. "Thank you, I'd rather my baby sister got married to you than anyone else in the world, you're a good guy, Ryan," he said. "I completely agree with Sam," Elise said, smiling warmly at Ryan and Taylor. Taylor herself kissed Ryan back before slipping her hand back into his.

About a week later, Ryan was a sleep in bed. It was about 3 in the morning. Ryan and Taylor had a meeting with a contractor the next day about the work that Taylor wanted to do on the deli. He woke up and found Taylor's side of the bed empty. He was half asleep and looked around the room, "Taylor?" He called out.

Taylor stared at the pregnancy test in the sink, clearly showing positive. Hearing Ryan shout her name, she called him from the bathroom. "Ryan, honey, I'm in here," she said, her voice small. Glancing from her stomach to the test in the sink, she bit her lip gently.

Ryan got up out of bed and went into the bathroom. "Hey honey... what are you doing in here? Are you feeling OK?" He looked at the pregnancy test on the counter. He picked it up and smiled, "Does this mean what I think it does?"

Taylor nodded as he looked at the pregnancy test. "Yes, Ryan, I'm pregnant..." she said slowly. Seeing the smile grow on his face she began to grin too, and stepped forwards to wrap her delicate arms around his waist.

Ryan smiled... He wanted to spin her around but he was tired and he didn't want to take the chance of her throwing up on him. He kissed her... "I can't believe it... I'm going to be a father..."

"Wow, this means I'm going to be a mother..." Taylor said, almost in a state of shock. "But what if I don't do a good job?" she was clearly worried about the huge task of pregnancy, and ultimately parenthood. Tugging at Ryan's hand to indicate for him to follow her, she returned to bed and curled up on her side, thoughts and worries flying around her head.

Ryan followed Taylor back to the bedroom. They got into bed and he got behind he and wrapped his arms around her. "You are going to be a wonderful mother" He kissed her on the nape of her neck. "You are so loving and caring. And you have your mother as an example."

Smiling as he wrapped his arms around her, she placed her own hands over his and relaxed again. "Thank you... I suppose I'm just nervous, I don't want to do anything wrong," Taylor said, her breathing slowing as she calmed down. "And I know you're going to support me with this, right?" she asked, loving how safe she felt under the covers in his arms.

Ryan kissed her again, "We are in this together... I love you Taylor... Good night..." Ryan then closed his eyes. A few days later, Ryan and Taylor when to her OB/GYN and found out that she was pregnant. Over the next few weeks Ryan started to work on turning one of the empty bedrooms into a nursery.

"I love you too Ryan..." Taylor said before drifting off to sleep again.

Over the next few months, they began to turn one of the empty bedrooms into a nursery. It was painted pale yellow and had all the necessary furniture for looking after a baby. Going for check ups, the baby was developing well and there was no issue with the pregnancy. Soon, Taylor was sleeping a lot more than usual and the kitchen was stocked with olives to help her cravings.

Ryan was more than wiling to help out around the house. He didn't think it was possible but Taylor was looking more beautiful everyday. One day when she was a few months along, Ryan was in his office going over some blueprints. The construction at the old deli was going well. Ryan and Taylor were in the preliminary stages of buying a building for a new deli on the other side of town. He heard a small knock on the door. "Come in, my love..." He said with a smile.

Smiling at Ryan as she sat down on the chair across the desk, Taylor tucked a stray hand of her hair behind her ear. "How are plans for the deli?" She asked, stretching her arms out to the side. "I wanted to say thank you as well, for helping out so much these past few months. I know I've not been doing as much as usual, but I'm just so tired most of the time," she said, giggling slightly. As if to prove her point, she yawned, before laughing out loud at herself.

Ryan smiled, "That's all right... I was just about to come and get you... It's about time for your doctor's appointment..." he stood up and walked over to her and rubbed her belly, "Today's the day we find out what your having..."
