Xanivus decides to go into the hall behind the staircase. (If its a right or left decision ill pick left)

The left hall behind the staircase is about 20 feet tall, and goes about 40 feet, with 3 doors. One on the right, and two on the left. At the end is another door, but from how slim it is, Xanivus's first guess is that it's a storage closet of some kind.

Inside the door...

Are a bunch of linen sheets, like for furniture, and some small decorative things. Nothing to worry about.

There are some paintings, tapestries, and other such hangings decorating the hall leading to the doors. Most of them seem to be about creating things, but a couple are about the Last War, a war that ended years ago, and split a kingdom that covered the continent into five nations.

Xanivus pulls the lever and looks down both sides of the hall to make sure everything is clear

The floor in front of the double doors start sliding into a recessed space, revealing stairs that go down. Xanivus can't see how far because of the bad lighting.

The steps go down about 20 feet, and then a hallway continues on for 70 feet, until Xanivus reaches a door with a soft glow coming from the other side.

The door opens with ease, and reveals...

A massive room, with steps leading further down, that glows with magical energy. It seems to focus and pour into a central piar that glows in the middle of the room. Large crystals decorate the room, storing, transferring, or giving magical energy. A man stands near it, and seems to be taking notes. "Not now, Alston. I'm busy with some experiments." The man says distractedly.

Xanivus decides to proceed further but he leaves his lantern behind so the person he was going up to couldn't see his light

The man turns while saying, "Look Alston, I told you... You're not Alston. *sigh* Are you another assassin? This is annoying."

"Oh. Your one of Antoine Tellier's people, with another order. Alright, give me the package." He says, holding out his hand.

"I'm Baron Merrix Cannith. This is my family forge. I experiment with new creations when not filling custom orders. See?" The man says, holding up a signet ring with the House Cannith symbol on it. "One of a kind. The enchantments and materials can't be copied, as far as I'm aware. House Cannith can't recreate it, at any rate, and we head the Crafter's Guild! So, I'll take the package, you take this," as he holds up a black coin with an unusual design, "And we go our separate ways. You never mention the forge or the job, and you get paid. And my bodyguard doesn't decapitate you. So nice and easy, give me the package. You're new to Antoine, so it's an honest mistake. He must not have told you the ins and outs. Guy's gotta be frantic for this." The man sighs. "There goes my off time. Might as well go public again for a bit."

Xanivus finds nothing suspicious. It is the Baron's house, and if anyone had a private lab there, it would be him. The black warforged with two shortswords standing near Xanivus certainly helps. The fact he was unseen until the man mentioned the guard? Not so pleasant to know.

(You have met the warforged swordsage. Also known as D&D's robot ninja.)

Xanivus hands him the package then turns around and begins to walk away. He wishes not to deal with the warforged. He just wants his pay
