Daylight Savior (Bratty and Mizz)

Selene pondered that for a moment. "Yea...must be worth it." she spoke softly, almost as if talking to herself. She couldn't make sense of humans at all. Vampire love seemed so different. Perhaps its because they are never changing, and if someone was special enough to touch their heart, that's where they stayed. HUmans could disguard their mates at any moment, move on, and find another. It made no sense.

"I think of it often actually. Though, I can't imagine how humans can go through so many mates in a life time. It's still something I wish to experience someday. Just once." Once is all she got anyways. It wasn't known if he knew that exactly, or how much he knew at all. She watched him from the corner of her eye, not wanting to be rude and stare directly at him. Her heart felt heavy, filled with sorrow for him. "I'm so sorry you are cursed to watch over me. You could be free and have a normal life, a....girlfriend....if I didn't need protecting. I can't help but feel guilty. "

"I think it's because we are rash....we don't live very long, well...normally," he said" I guess we make choices too quickly, and when we realize we made a mistake we try and make up for lost time by finding another mate," he said. "I guess it's a curse of mortality..." he said with a sigh. He knew of couse he would live much longer, it wasn't known how long, but his dad was well over a hundred years old and was still very lively for his age and appeared it too.

"Don't....like I said I don't regret it," he said to her. "I could be off...chasing girls and stuff....but that would make me normal.....you make me special in a way," he said with a small smile. "I guess I feel more....important having to be your guardian....like I am depended on....it's something humans strive for," he said. "I know your capable of taking care of yourself....I mean....aside from sunlight few things can really do you harm...but...I guess thats what makes me job well...interesting," he said with a shrug. "I'm not really good at putting it into words, but I don't want to be normal I guess."

She smiled, Aiden always knew what to say to help soothe her worries. It was as if he was designed especially for her. It made things difficult at times. As she looked at him, forbidden thoughts floated back into her mind. "If only it were possible. But it's forbidden." She whispered to herself. It wasn't often they sat down and had deep discussions, but when they did, she got to see a side of him that she truely liked.

Selene couldn't help but laugh as he claimed his disinterest in being normal. "You couldn't be normal even if you tried. You are WAY too wierd!" She punched him playfully in the arm. Once again, she saw an opportunity to torment him, and she took it. "You certainly are 'special' though Aiden." She emphasized the word special. Picking on him always put her in a better mood. She rose to her feet and walked towards the shallow river, watching the ripples dance across is at the breeze glided across with ease.

Aiden smiled gently at that, not really caring at this point. He was good at hiding himself from her. In fact it was the one thing he did better then her. He guessed it was because she was a vampire, she did not have the same cares as he did, nor worries. He however had always been rather good at hidng things. Anything from pocket money to secrets he was a master at keeping it safe.

"Your bite it lacking though...speaking of which.....how are you feeling?' he asked changing the subject. He knew she was getting thirsty he was certian. She had a bit of a nice appetite, though then again he could only compare it to her, he knew few other vampires outside of her covine and even those within where strangers to him.

Selene turned and looked at him over her shoulder. She had almost forgotten about her thirst. She was getting rather thirsty, but hated to admit it. "I'm ok." She stated, turning back around to watch the river. Drinking someone's blood wasn't easy. There were times it was so hard to restrain herself from killing him. She'd never admit it but his blood was so devine. The connection they shared while feeding was so intense, it almost saddened her. He was hers, but at the same time she couldn't have him. Vampire bites were also sexual. Not just good for drinking blood. And at times, it excited her senses. It made things rather confusing for her.

"Are you sure?' he asked her curiously. He would not force her too, but he also had to be certian. Last time she did not she nearly attacked someone. Whats worse was when she finally did drink from him she nearyly killed him. Of course he recovered swiftly after, but he did not wish to see the face of death so soon again. "You need to drink Selene," he said to her. "Don't hold back, or worry about me..I mean.....I'm here for that," he said and just sat down. He knew she was worried she would hurt him. She had been upset after she nearly drank him dry.

With a heavy sigh she turned around and crouched in front of him. She knew he was right...as he usually was. She couldn't hear any signs of humans close enough to see anything and decided it was safe. As she focused on her thirst, her features would appear almost animalistic. Her eyes got darker, her movements more graceful. Within an instant, she slid the collar of his shirt over and pierced his flesh at the base of his neck. She preferred to drink from here rather than the arm. It was warmer and fresher from his neck. Instinct took over as she slowly drank his life essence. Her hands held him down, as they would with any prey of hers. One hand held the back of his head, the other arm restraining him. It was a rather intimate moment.

Aiden was never truely prepared for the sudden lunge and bite. Of course it no longer hurt like it first had, but the same sense of helplessness still took him for a breif moment. Once he felt her teeth perice flesh thoughhe let out a sudden rush of air from his lungs. His arms would move, almost like a struggle, but he didn't struggle. It was the reflex of his muscles to do so. He simply let her drink, feeling the sudden sensation of being well...drained. It sounded bad, but very oddly it felt good now. Perhaps he was becoming a masochist.

"Heh....fine..." he said a little teeasingly, she drank deeply from him. He was feeling a little more tired, but relaxed. Her teeth made him feel...pleased in a sense. His breathing grew a tiny bit labored, as he panted letting her continue.

Even though Selene hated what she was, she couldn't deny that she did love the power she felt over another. She held him carefully, sort of lovingly. She was rather careful not to hurt him in any way. It was during these times, she felt great adoration for her protector.

Upon slipping her blood soaked fangs from his neck, she gingerly licked the last few drops from his skin. A deep sigh escaped her lips as she held onto his body. "Thank you" she whispered into his ear. Her long arms embraced him in a hug, something she didn't normally do. "You will never know how grateful I am to have you."

She sat there for a moment, just holding on to him. The feeling was rather pleasant, and not something she was accustomed to. A few moments later, she released her grip and quickly moved to stand back at the edge of the river, watching the ripples once again.

Aidens arms very gently moved to hold her as well. Either out of his desires to do so, and simply because he was now a little light headed, he wasn't sure. Or perhaps the pleased feeeling he got from the experience had driven his emotions and feeling to bubble up over his wall of resolve and such.

It felt nice to hold and be held, he felt his heart beating a little faster. His grip was very gentle though, he laked the strength at the moment to be as firm as he would have liked. As caring and nurturing. When she spoke to him he smiled softly. His eyes a little dull from the blood lose but he would feel alright in a few minutes.

"It's....my greatest joy to be," he whispered. "I'll do...anything for you," he said as she let him go.

It was getting late, and they were still at the park. She could be out all night with no issues, but her human, however needed his sleep. As tired as he was in class, and now drained of blood, he had to be exhausted. Selene decided to be the responsible one for a change and suggested they get home. She grabbed her socks and boots, slipping them on rather quickly. It wasn't too far of a walk to her place, but she had no idea where he lived. It wasn't her business to know.

As darkness began to creep in, she didn't have to be as careful with her movements. People were already retreating back to their own homes for the night, probably getting ready to enjoy a hot dinner with their family. Selene's thoughts always amused her. She wondered what a family dinner at her covens home would be like. She pictured some poor soul, or a few, laid out on a table, and about a dozen vicious vampires feasting away. The idea was rather comical and she couldn't help but laugh out loud.

She was wrapped up in her own little world, and began to dart towards the gate of the park, without checking to make sure Aiden was following. She was stronger now that she had fed, forgetting that he was a bit weaker now that he was drained.

Aiden was a bit grateful she decided to go back home. It was a bit of a change from the normal routine, but he did not mind. He was feeling better, though it would take a nights sleep to get him back into peak performance so to speak. He got up,a bit sluggishly though. He needed an energy drink or something it seemed. He followed after her.

He noticed the streets growing empty and such, he was glad. He kept up woth her pace as best he could. He himself was growing a bit hungry as well. (sorry it short)

It didn't take them long to get back to her place. She had moved rather quickly, in a hurry to get home for once. Today's events had her thinking, which was never a good sign. "Perhaps its time for a change." she said out loud to herself. She could hear Aiden behind her. He seemed tired, weaker than normal. That was normal for after a feeding. Pain filled her eyes, knowing she had done that to him. Selene turned to him and gave an apologetic look. "Well, goodnight. And thanks for everything" she said before turning and vanishing through the door. She had a lot of work to do, and not much time to do it in.

Aiden met up ather door. Her house was always a sight to behold. Large, old, it clearly looked like it would be inhabited by vampires. In the doorway he expected her to tell him when to arrive next and the like. He was more surprised when she simply said goodnight. "Alright, goodnight it was my pleasure," he said to her quiet obviously confused at the moment. He watched her vanish inside before he stood there for a moment. "Did I upset her?" he asked himself. It was rare she was so, well....normal and nice. It was really cute in fact. He liked her as is, but the rare occasions she was like this were a treat.

He walked off her front step and walked home, along the way he bought a soda and a sandwich, eating as he thought about the events that went. She was lonely, he felt sorry for her, she would be lonely for a long time if not forever, after all she was immortal.

He finally got home, the lights were off, so no one was home. He was fine with that, and simply walked through the dark house. His eyes adjusting quickly to the darkness.

Selene barely acknowledged her family before rushing to her room. She flung the door open and slammed it behind her. A light flicked on and her room lit up. The room was huge. A large bed that wasn't used very often, was along one wall. She threw herself down on it and grabbed a pillow, holding it tight. It was pretty much the only thing she ever got to held, and this saddened her more. She turned her attention toward the large entertainment center along the other wall, and flicked on the tv for some noise. She also had a massive stereo and surround sound system that she used quite often. Books lined the outter edges of the large piece of furniture, and a massive collection of cd's lined the inner shelves.

The walls were painted purple, her favorite color. The outter wall was a large glass window overlooking the woods in the backyard. She had her own balcony off the back of the house, and spent quite a few nights in the moonlight out there.

She began to think of everything that had gone on during the day. Thinking about their talk of relationships and companions rather upset her. She knew her fate was to be alone for eternity, but he didn't deserve that. As long as she was around, that would be his fate. It didn't take her long to decide, and she darted into the large walk in closet to grab her things. "I can't do that to him" she muttered. "I need to get out of her. Allow him to live his life." She had decided to attempt to leave again. This wasn't unusual for her. Every few months or so, she tried to leave, never getting very far.

She walked onto her balcony and gently shut the door before jumping to the ground and running off into the woods with a backpack slung over her shoulder.

He managed to get to his room. He slumped down onto his bed. He felt a bit tense after eating, usually he felt that after she fed, he was a bit aroused and it always seemed wrong "Damn...I am becoming a masochist," he said. He thought to get his magazine from under his bed, it was an odd book, it had dirty pictures of girls, though dressed in costume. He really liked the ones trying to portray a vampire. The girks where no where near close to Selene though.

"Not tonight....im tired," he said yawning. He was unaware she had made yet another break for freedom. However as his eyes shut he would soon find out.

The last time she had run, he had woken in a cold sweat, he had been worried about her and upon trting to get home he had a wierd tugging feeling that helped find her. Tonight he had uncomfortable dreams. She was in it, but not like usual, rather then smiling and being a tease, he saw her panting, backpack over shoulder in the woods. His eyes suddenly snapping open.

She moved swiftly through the woods, able to avoid running into any trees or large bushes. Her vision was excellent at night, another perk for being a vampire. The moonlight cast a faint glow over the forest floor in certain areas where there were breaks in the trees. Most of the forest was pitch black, and no normal human would be able to find their way without a flashlight.

Sticks and leaves broke and crunched beneath her feet. The branches of some bushes swayed in the slight shift of air she caused as she ran. Selene didn't know where to go, but didn't care. It felt good to run. It felt good to be free. There was no telling how long it would take her family to figure out she was gone. She had hoped there would be enough time to get far enough away so they couldn't track her. Her coven were excellent trackers, as they had to be from long ago.

He rubbed his eyes, looking at his watch. He had only been asleep for no more then an hour at most. "It could just be a bad dream," he thought to himself. He however had a strange feeling about it. He sighed, looking for his flashlight and taking a jacket on. He knew it wasn't cold, but a jacket could be useful for many things outside. He knew the woods in the dream. They where not far from her home, and he guessed she wou;d be going to one of her many spots deep in the forest.

It took him nearly another hour to get there. He half expected to wake her family, but he then realized if he did it might say how good a guardian he was. "No....can't let them think I'm incompitent," he said and instead walked around towards the forest. He could not track like they could, and her foot steps where light they left little to no impressions. However she was running at top speed, finding broken twigs and branches would be simple enough, and with the sun he could still search for her during the day.

It didn't take her too long to realize where she could go. There was a secret spot she loved to visit from time to time not too far from where she was. It was a cave that led deep into the mountains. The town the lived in was in a valley, so it didn't take long to reach her desired destination. The cave was just on the edge of the mountain range surrounding their town, in the middle of the thickest part of the forest. Humans didn't even realize it was here, so it made a great place for her to hide out. This way, she wouldn't be tempted to feed.

Sunrise was a few hours away, so she grabbed a flashlight and headed into the darkness. She was good at seeing in the dark, but not that good! A few critters could be hurd scurrying along the floor, water dripped from a stalactite nearby. It was quiet and peaceful. As she walked further in the cave, she came to a corridor, where a small room was located off to the right. She lit a lantern that hung on the wall, casting enough light to show inside. For years, she's been working on building up this secret hideout to make it a second home of sorts. There was a makeshift bed in the corner, a bookshelf filled with old texts along another wall. There wasn't much to do, but it didn't matter. She set her stuff down and threw herself off the bed, releasing tearless sobs that echoed off the walls. She was happy to be gone, to be away from everyone. The fact that she would be alone for eternity, however, was enough to break her heart.

"Selene!" he shouted out for her. He knew it would take him hours to catch up to her, if he did. He decided to wait a bit more, maybe even take a nap if he could. He found a large fallen tree and sat on it, his flashlight pointed out before him. He yawned sleepily, wishing he was in bed. "Why did she have to run off tonight?' he asked himself. He guesed he really had upset her. He would have to apologize or something once he found her. He closed his eyes to rest for a bit, only taking a small rest before starting to walk again. He followed broken branches and twigs, by the time he was getting closer to the mountains the sun was beginning to rise up.

It took her a while to settle back down enough to regain composure. "Stupid humans" she muttered. Thinking about companionship wasn't something she had come to think of often until she started attending school. She blames them for putting the thought into her head.

Selene didn't know what time it was, and couldn't tell whether the sun was rising or not. She was deep enough in the cave that daylight would even have a hard time reaching her. This is how she liked it. Afterall, she was a vampire. They did prefer the dark over light. Unsure of what to do with herself, she sat there for a few moments and looked around. It was then that her favorite book caught her eyes. It was as good of a time as ever to start a book. She walked across the room to get it, and settled back down into her bed.

It didn't take too long before she grew tired. Soon enough, she fell asleep.

Aiden came upon the cave as the sun was up. He yanwed looking at it. "This one would be new," he told himself, but the signs of her footsteps could be seen. It was a bit of a hassle to go in but he made sure his flashlight had the batteries and walked into it. He stumbled a bit, very tired now. It was a rather lonely place, he guessed that was why she had come to it.

"Selene?" he whispered, his voice traveled a few feet before becoming one with the darkness. He walked further until he came upon a makeshift door. It looked very unkept, he was surprised she would sleep in a place like this, thinking she would prefer a nice clean house over this./ But he guessed she was desperate. He knocked, but did not expect a reply so he did his best to open the door into the rom. His flashlight then went out. "Perfect," he hissed and walked into the dark rom, groping around for anything or anyone.

Selene was suddenly awakened by the sounds of footsteps in the room. Immediately, she flung around and hunkered down into a crouch, her hunting instincts taking over. She couldn't see, as her lantern must have gone out while she slept, but she could hear the creature breathing, and could sense each footstep on the cave floor. She was like a lioness hunting her prey, moving stealthily, breathing quietly and shallow. Even though she wasn't thirsty, she was now in protection mode, and willing to kill whatever had intruded on her new home.

Like a flash, she launched herself across the room and tackled her prey quickly, sinking her fangs into the flesh of the intruder.

Aiden fumbled around, at one time even bumping into the wall with a sudden groan. His nose stung but luckily he had been slow. He did not hear her awaken or anything. No in his sleepy state he was like a lamb in a pit of lions. He didn't want to make alot of nose. He tried tapping his flash light hopping to make it go off just for a few moments.

He heard something to his side and turned. He tapped his flash light again and this time it flickered for only a moment, it was then he saw something lung quickly at him before the light had died out. His face had for a moment been lit. "Sel....!" he groaned though as she bit him yet again, he struggled a little this time before he once more lulled lazily.

(g2g be back soon hopefully)

After tasting the intruders blood, she realized rather quickly who it was. Horrified, she got off of him and moved to the other side of the room to relight the lantern. As the light flicked on, her eyes settled on the familiar face. "Aiden, what the hell are you doing here?!" She hissed. Normally she would feel sympathy and regret for attacking him in such a vicious manner, but not this time. This time she was rather furious, and it took every ounce of self control to keep from attacking him again.

"Are you stalking me now?" She couldn't help but feel that he was. How else would he know where she was? Crossing her arms and tapping her foot, she glared at him and awaited an answer. A low growl eminated from her throat.
