Carissa let out a long sigh. Why couldn't he understand where she was getting with her thought processes? Being an employee, she had no right to indulge in anything but a boss/employee relationship with him. With Jeanine, she could be more. After all she was just a little girl, and her charge nonetheless. However, that didn't mean she could exactly be friends with her father.
"I didn't say that," she replied simply. "Is there anything you would like from the kitchen? Something to drink?" She sent the message.
