For generations "adventurers" have tracked down the "savage" and "evil" races to loot them and slaughter them in some type of perverse culling ritual before stealing all of their hard won items, food, and trade. Orcs have been refused the right to trade because elves find them offensive, goblins are seen like large versions of cockroaches and exterminated in droves with no care to if they are man, woman, or child, and kobolds are destroyed by gnomes for some age old slight that their very God started! Well, enough is definitely enough!

You will be portraying one of the "monstrous" or "evil" races that has been wronged by humans, dwarves, elves, halflings, and gnomes. Your tribes have been kept sociologically stunted thanks to the puerile racism of the so called "advanced" races that keeps anything they view as unattractive or just disdainful from fully realizing themselves. Who is to say that orcs could not be as smart and talented as any elf if given the right education? But no, the slender bigots keep their "hated foe" in savage and tribal locations. Who is to say that goblins cannot understand love and affection the way humans can? Humans, the youngest of the vicious species, are more a plague than any goblin tribe has ever been!

You and your friends, family, and other close friends were gathered at a meeting of trading and culture. It was a festival between myriad races and other groups who were shunned by the "decent" humanoids of the world. Except something went wrong. The local communities got word of the gathering and got both frightened and greedy. There was gold and food and magic at this gathering, along with lots of slave labor. Thus, during the third day, it was attacked.

You saw your family and friends and strangers slaughtered before your very eyes. Your siblings, your parents, children of all types. Under the corpses where you hid you saw elves and humans rape young and wounded people of your race and others. You saw gnomes fastening slaves for their mines along with dwarves. You saw Halflings looting everything they could get their hands on. You had to wait, you hadn't been seen. A day later you found out you were not the only survivors, others had lived and not been captured. You knew you had to do something! This type of barbarism could not go unanswered! You would no longer be preyed upon by thrill seeking "adventurers," no more be a practice shield for squires, and your riches would not feed a lazy mob! It is time to right the balance of power.

This will be going on in AIM on Fridays, time yet to be decided. Add me to AIM and I'll get people situated.

Note 2: I have decided against Psionics, just too much bookwork.

So, mechanically, the rules are thus: Your race must be "monstrous" in some ways. Here are the examples:
Half-orcs
Tiefling
Goblin
Half-Ogre
Orc
Kobold
Savage Species Drider
Skulk
Zombified any race
(Note: Pretty much every race will be house ruled in some way or another, I would prefer no modifiers to Level outside of +2 without a great background/reasoning or a savage species approach. If you want to play a race that is not up there be sure to ask about it and I will see how it works. Though, no drow.)

The acceptable Classes:
Arcane: Sorcerer, Warlock, Wu Jen, Witch
Divine: Cleric, Druid, Favored Soul, Oracle
Fighting: Barbarian, Hexblade, Fighter, Ranger
Sneaky: Artificer, Beguiler, Rogue, Scout
Tricky: Bard, Dragon Shaman, Monk, Summoner

The books these appear in are:
Complete Divine: Favored Soul
Players Handbook 2: Beguiler, Dragon Shaman
Complete Arcane: Warlock, Wu Jen
Complete Warrior: Hexblade
Complete Adventurer: Scout
Eberron Campaign Core: Artificer

Now that that is out of the way, here is the more numerical issues: You will start at level five (or with five levels) which gives you numerically nine-thousand in gold worth of objects and simple cash.

I want to set this up Pathfinder-like, so some classes will be reworked, as will races. Choose a race you wish to know of and I'll give you my rework, as with the class. This way I don't have to deluge with rules that may or may not ever be used.

Here is the general: Fighter Base Attack: d10 hit die (d12 for Barbarians or any class that gets it)
Rogue Base: d8
Wizard Base: d6
Feats: Every odd level (1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th, etc)
Ability Increase: One every fourth level

Favored Class: Choose a favored class for your character, that is your favored class.

Skills will be the Pathfinder skill set, so you are limited to your class level in rating but get a +3 if it is a class skill. At character creation you just get Class Bonus+ Intelligence in skill points. (Example, a Rogue would get 8+ Int Bonus at character creation and could have a rank of one in every skill. At level 2 they'd get the same but could raise the skills to 2.)
Check here for more info: http://www.d20pfsrd.com/skills

Roll seven d6, drop the lowest score. Do not start with a stat lower than 10 on the die rolls. If you have a negative modifier after that (say a Half-ogres -2 charisma and a 10 charisma = 8) that is fine. If you have nothing above a 14 re do your rolls. If you do not have at least one eighteen turn your highest score into an 18. Do it in that order.

Do not roll your hit die, you will get the maximum points per level for a more "epic" feel.

Sneak attacks will only not effect the following: certain Abominations, oozes, plants, and any specific class that grants immunity. Everything else can be sneak attacked. Sneak attack stacks with spells as well as other abilities (eldritch blast, scorching ray, etc).

The rest will be handled by a race and class basis.

I'd say a maximum of about five to six. Four positions are already taken, they are thus:
Neurok_Shinobi Water Genasi Monk
Broomhandle45: Tiefling Fighter Dropped
Hero: Tiefling Warlock Dropped
Dramamine: Kobold Druid
Minthulf: Half-Minotaur Diabolus Oracle/Bard
Arcturus: Goblin Rogue

And now for a game. PM/IM the answer to any one of these and your character will get a boost of some kind. Yays.
If I had a manatee what would I name him?
Who first chat married me on Blue Moon?
What song has the lyrics "I see you baby; shakin' dat ass?" Neurok
Finish this lyric: "I have something to put in you-" Minthulf
Tomyris beat which legendary commander?
Name an anime I actually enjoy
Who was the ACTUAL protagonist of the book House of Leaves?
What was Ranavalona the Cruel's original name? Arcturus

Re: Revenge of the Monsters D&D Pathfinder Faerun 3.5 Update

For the turkeys who did not show:

Session Summary by Arc... what follows is the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth... according to Nurg Silver-Eye.

Nurg wakes up after a restful night in the lands of the Mountain Clan. Savior of dozens of captured slaves and massacre survivors... only to be informed that one survivor, a woman warrior, did not survive the wounds she received at the hands of McFumbles the Monk. He was informed of his rights of Salvage, sine he didn't kill her and he was the one who saved her.

Nurg takes everything that is halfway useful, and meanwhile the chumps he saved yesterday finally start to come to. The large half cow half whatever the hell, but definitely not prime material material, and the kobold approach Nurg, thanking him for saving their asses. Immediately he cashed in that favor. The human warrior, servant of the slutty Skanky McBoobs had been chained up, waiting for Nurg to take a crack at him and torture the location of Skanky McBoobs of Pointy Eared Bitch.

The large part demonic type thing immediately reveals himself to be a wuss, protesting even the thought of THREATENING a slaver scumbag who had just tormented him, and was going to sell him to some desert rats. He is a lost cause, and at the top of the list for Suicide Mission Assignments. The Kobold at least has some sense that the dragon gods gave her at birth.

Somewhere in the same reason a Tiefling wakes up, pissed as hell about being naked, throwing a hissy fit about pants.

Nurg makes a somewhat hasty retreat, not wanting to deal with another Tall One.

Finally the Tiefling actually finds some pants, and hearing Nurg was the one who saved his pansy ass from certain doom/slavery, decides for some reason to get pissed at the noble goblin savior and start barking out demands.

Nurg doesn't put up with that shit, or the cow-thinger complaining about the Kobold and Nurg planning to leave the human warrior a crippled, misshapen horror. TO THE PAIN!

Finally the Tiefling shuts up, stewing in his impotent rage as Nurg and the Kobold put on a clinic. The Thayan warrior ends up being pretty ballsy... Nurg even took his eye but the fucker would just spit in his eye if given the chance. Finally he tags out with the oversized sap.

And the cow goes and undoes all the good work Nurg did, HEALING the chump, and then failing to win him over with sappy talk about peace and understanding. Desperate, and knowing the Goblin was going to resort to more effective means, even tries to cast a spell upon him, and fails that one too.

Nurg, highly disappointed with the cow, called in his dogs. Literally, making the diseased curs nip and bite at the warrior until he contracted a painful, annoying disease. With that done, he called it, wandering off to let the warrior stew, taking the only intelligent member of his group out for a bite while the dog bite did its thing.

Re: Revenge of the Monsters D&D Pathfinder Faerun 3.5 Update

To update the (completely honest!) Weekly Goblin:

The warrior mentioned that the slaves were to be taken to SOMETHING called the Kadtanach. What this is no one seems to know.

The goblin medics had some of the arcane caste check out the items on the dead Tiefling, they are:
4 potions of cure light wounds
4 potions of cure moderate wounds
1 potion of fly

Two rings of protection +1

1 +1 Warhammer

+2 Full Plate

Heavy Metal Spiked Spell Resistant (13) Bashing Shield

Divide them amongst you as you will.

ALSO: The party can hold one more member now >.>

Re: Revenge of the Monsters D&D Pathfinder Faerun 3.5 Update

The one I dropped died?

Actual wounds, or did the person drop out of the game?

Re: Revenge of the Monsters D&D Pathfinder Faerun 3.5 Update

Broomy bailed.

So far, I don't have a clear idea why, but his character was killed and harvested.

lol @ Pants Rager.

Re: Revenge of the Monsters D&D Pathfinder Faerun 3.5 Update

I only know of the one. I don't think Raiden wanted miss out. I think that was a schedule conflict.

Either way, it opens the game up to two more people who are willing to jump in.

Also, if the current players would please post a nice detailed description of their characters, I will make it worth your time. :) I want to draw the party as separate pictures and try to piece them together at some time, but this would give ya'll some visuals.

Re: Revenge of the Monsters D&D Pathfinder Faerun 3.5 Update

Session Gains/Losses:

Gained: A few hints, a butthurt monk of uselessness, 14 levels. Fuck yeah I'm level 20 baby! +5 Drunkeness

Losses: A gold piece, a silver piece, a copper piece.

The Whole Truth According to Nurg:

Nurg and Kobold arrive at a local haunt, and just happen to run into Nerin, fresh out of his Orcish rendezvous. After a bit of chitchat, Nurg finally gets a Goblin Man Bitch to serve him his food and drink, and lays down the law to the other two. He's in charge, he's large in spirit, and they are hunting down Skanky McBoobs and her little "Kadnatch" ritual. A few tips to the manwhore and they find out about some Momryu the Crone, apparently the only one in town who knows diddly shit about magic...

A short jaunt later, Nurg starts searching for the Crone, while Nerin does absolutely nothing at all because he's useless when he's not punching stuff. They manage to get an answer from a goblin kid, parting with a shiny copper in order to find the crone in the middle of her classes.

Nurg is quite surprised to find out the Crone is not a wise old goblin, but some wrinkled old human maid, probably from Kara-Tur from the looks of things. The batshit crazy old woman invites them in for some poison while Nerin's sole contribution is asking if this witch heard about the victims of his heavy handled rescue attempts... poor Tiefling woman never stood a chance with Nerin abusing her. He gets shot down badly, who ever knew he was such a Grave Robber wrinkle chaser?

Nurg meanwhile is more direct while the kobold seems too wary of the woman to do much. He proves his meddle once more, getting VALUABLE information about this "Kadanatch" beast, apparently something large enough to fit a city upon. And getting the name of the only group with the chutzpah to even attempt to summon one, 'The Zulkir of Conjuration". Apparently this is bigger than just Skanky McBoobs, involving powerful factions of Thay... Why did Skanky take so many slaves to this project... no one knows other than it is not as fodder for the Kadanatch, as it can't survive on such small portions. Nurg is pointed towards the location of his missing Tribe by the old crone, the next lead on the trail of the slaves and Skanky McBoobs. Revenge is nearing.

Re: Revenge of the Monsters D&D Pathfinder Faerun 3.5 Update

This Friday's game is canceled because my house was in the floods recently. I'll hope that everything else gets situated in a week but I may be hoping for too much at this time. Thank you for your understanding.

Re: Revenge of the Monsters D&D Pathfinder Faerun 3.5 Update

Gott... that blows mate. hope it gets cleared up no problem.

Re: Revenge of the Monsters D&D Pathfinder Faerun 3.5 Update

I apologize for missing this week's game, if it occurred.

We were having work done on our van that extended into 7pm. After which we headed to the grocery store for dinner items.

These craptacular events wrapped up with the power being out at our house because a drunk wanted to cream himself all over a pole right outside our neighborhood. I hope that dumb ass killed himself.

But nothing is planned for this up coming weekend. There should be no reason for me to be absent.

Re: Revenge of the Monsters D&D Pathfinder Faerun 3.5 Update

Everything should be going well this week. I apologize for the absences myself and will see everyone Friday.

Re: Revenge of the Monsters D&D Pathfinder Faerun 3.5 Update

Correction: I might (and probably am) going to be heading down to get a car this Friday. Perhaps Saturday if that would work for everyone?

Re: Revenge of the Monsters D&D Pathfinder Faerun 3.5 Update

If it needs to happen on Friday, no one is going gripe.

You've suffered a loss with that flood and you need ample time to recover.

So take your time, please. :)

Re: Revenge of the Monsters D&D Pathfinder Faerun 3.5 Update

I think I'm working this Saturday. I don't know yet. In fact I probably won't know for certain until Saturday Morning, the way this outfit works.

Re: Revenge of the Monsters D&D Pathfinder Faerun 3.5 Update

...Oy. Never mind, false alarm apparently. If there are no problems we can still meet tomorrow. Gods dammit schedules-_-

Re: Revenge of the Monsters D&D Pathfinder Faerun 3.5 Update

I can make it tomorrow. ^^ My game on that day fell into oblivion.

Re: Revenge of the Monsters D&D Pathfinder Faerun 3.5 Update

Nurg's Totally Honest, hand to Beshaba report:

While everyone went missing outside the house of the ancient crone that Nerin had an unhealthy interest in, Nurg managed to finally find a chance to relax in the home of his mountain kin, thanks to a large Honey Spill, and some barely clad Goblinesses and Orcish Women. Quite a work out it actually gave him some valuable insight, bringing him to a new level of power and skill, and not just in Grappling.

LEVEL UP, too bad you other suckers didn't show, excepting the Cow.

Finally after what seemed like a small eternity they are underway. The old crone had pointed out the survivors of Nurg's clan. Survivors he didn't know existed. It put the goblin in usually good spirits as they drew closer to the Goblin Lands, evident when they finally ran into the first Goblin. The notable woman Shilla, a fun, smart, and stab happy gobliness who seemed to know Nurg fairly will as they greeted each other. Nurg introduce her to his War Trophies, including the Servants Cow and Water Guy. Sadly the Monk shot off his mouth like a moron. Seriously, how can Tall Ones not know that they should behave properly when surrounded by a whole tribe of goblins who don't take kindly to their oversized egos?

Then Rocks Fell, and the Session Died.

Re: Revenge of the Monsters D&D Pathfinder Faerun 3.5 Update

Okay, THIS Friday is the day we go and get the new car. So, see everyone next Friday.

Re: Revenge of the Monsters D&D Pathfinder Faerun 3.5 Update

Misanthropiclove, since two players dropped, can I join?

Re: Revenge of the Monsters D&D Pathfinder Faerun 3.5 Update

Well, Hisu, describe what type of character you wish to play and I will see.

Re: Revenge of the Monsters D&D Pathfinder Faerun 3.5 Update

An asexual TN tiefling sorceress with the aim to find her lost elder brother, in short description.
In full... um, it's kinda long one. Should I post it here on in PM?

Re: Revenge of the Monsters D&D Pathfinder Faerun 3.5 Update

Welp, as only Drams showed up, I think I can honestly say the game is dead. Thanks for everyone helping out.

Here is what happened:

Zyzzix ended up working on a Thayan kobold farm, laying eggs to supply food. She later freed herself only to realize she could do this all by herself and ended up selling organic Kobold eggs and making a great fortune with which she used to flood gnome mines with boiling pitch and/or feces. Flubbles ended up becoming awakened and took over the entire southern continent, rallying all the drow in the world behind him and supplanting Lolth. He is now a major Deity and is often given sacrificial offerings of sheep.

Pants Rager ended up a breeding body for a tentacle beast, his warm innards spawning many generations of school girl fuckers.

Cow ended up finding his father, who was the star in many illusion magic scroll porns. He followed in his hoof-steps and ended up being the first porn star to take five cocks at once. He also ended up fucking the deposed Lolth in the infamous scroll "That's Not Milk but Drink it Out of My Ass Anyway Slut" and "Shut Up and Take Them Both to the Elbow!" which many male drow fap to religiously. Literally religiously.

The monk ended up wandering away and doing monk things. Last he was heard from he tried to break the Ice Walls of Ahnkoltaar with his bare fists and ended up freezing solid like so many before him.

Nurg had a lucrative career in honey cleansing until the day all the bees died. He then ended up taking a vow of celibacy and spent the rest of his years shaving his pubes to resemble various holy icons and streaking through temples, often with mixed results. The Sune-ites now refer to this as "The Day The Weed Was Sooooooooooooooo Gooooooooooooooooood Maaaaaaaaaaaaan." He also started the ever popular campaign of "Save the forest: Spay or neuter your elf today."

Skanky McBoobs ended up finishing her job with the Kadtanach and, like all good jobs that involve merchants, spent the rest of her years up to her boobs in paperwork.
