A Dragonic Guardian(xWickedBlackLace)

The young man could only smile at Andrain. He could tell that he was going to become fast friends with this member of Xaid's family. Which was a good thing for him, becuase Andol needed more friends. The pat on his leg seemed to pass unoticed by the human, simply because he was focused on the touch of the larger male behind than he ever would be of Andrain. His eyebrow raised for a moment though at the suggestion. Military tactics... that sounded most intersting. During his time at home, when he had spent so many hours reading and learn, that was one of the things that he had study. Of course those where human military tactics, which where probably cruder, than those of the dragons. The large reptiles had, had more time to devolp thiers.

Looking back up at Xaid he said softly, "You don't mind taking me with you... do you." Even if it actully boiled down to simple psychial training, then that would not be a problem ethier. The human was more fit than he looked, and figured that exersice just for the sake of exersice probably would not be such a bad thing. Of course when the connection bettewen him and Xain was mentioned Andol's question responds was almost immedeate, "Can really do that Andrain. I would really like it if you could. I think it would be nice for me and Xain's connection to grow." Andol figured that sense he was going to be spending the rest of his life near Xain, then it would be best if they where linked, by as strong of a bond as possiable.

Andol caught the presence of another person entering the room, and soon another large handsome male entered the room. Yet Andol did not know why, but this one seemed to reek of being a bad person. It was one of those feelings you got when you could just tell that somthing was a risk to you. That was what he felt when he saw this person, but he did try to at least smile a bit. Yet this went away just as fast as it had come, when he heard the anger at which Xaid spoke to the new male. It was more than just simple brothers being hard on each other. No this was very geninue hate. At least to some degree it was, as for how much he was not sure. He could just tell that things where not going to be pretty, but he had already made up his mind to not let anyone intemidate him.

He began though to get angry at the things that where being said to Xaid. It became obvious that this other dragon was going to be harsh towards them, and Andol had a feeling that it had some to do with the fact that Xaid now had a master, and not a mistress. The young man though did not plan only letting Xaid argue with the other dragon alone. He wanted his dragon to know, that he had his back... no matter what. Andol wanted to send a message that said, 'you can't push me around easily'. His eyes seemed to for the first time have a coldness grow over them, "Excuse me, but I am not a 'this'. I have a name and it is Andol. Please use it." The annoyance in his voice was obvious. He just hoped that he had made the right call. His goal was not to start anything, but just simply estabilish that he could not be pushed around that esaily. It was alway best to assert yourself as soon as possiable. At least in his mind it way.

The room grew very quiet...

Oh, that couldn't have been far from the right call. A slow smirk formed on Linden's lips as it seems this was inspiring him to do something. "I do promise you, I can call you whatever I like. Especially since you are in the home I grew up in." He stood, challenging Andol, but Xaid quickly thrusted himself in between his master and his brother.

A growl escaped him that matched that of the one his larger dragon form would make. His protective, sturdy body stood in front of the object of his affections like an impenetratable wall. "Don't fucking touch him, Linden, I swear to fucking-"

"You think some gay piece of shit is going to be the one to hone east Arrex and all of the sept? Gives me the god damned advantage, don't it?"

"Boys, STOP!!!" Tessa yelled, tears pushing at her lids. As if a divorce with Caidren wasn't enough to deal with...this was happening now.

Both boys looked at their mother, but neither told her they were going to stand down very easily.

Adrian wanted so badly to be strong enough to intervene. But he wasn't, and if he did it would result in far more harm than good. The temperature seemed to be rising in the room, Linden's energy pulling in towards himself. When Linden's energy pulled in that usually meant he was planning something inside of himself that he didn't plan on informing anybody of or letting anybody find out about. It'd been years since he'd tried to kill any of his siblings, but there had been past attempts. Adrian stood guard ready to back up Xadrien in any way he possibly could. He put a hand on Andol's shoulder and pulled him back slightly. He whispered in his ear, "When you get an opening, take Xaid back into the corridor and try to calm him down. This could get ugly really quickly if you don't. Worse comes to worse, order him back or Linden is going to end him." A frown tugged at his lips so deeply it seemed permenant.

It was then that Cadence had joined the party, a disapproving frown tugging at his lips as well. Cadence had more of a soft look, he had a broad chest and was as tall as Xaid only slightly less broad. His hair was slightly longer and he held a much more beautiful sex appeal than a powerful one. Not by much, but less nonetheless. He crossed his arms over his chest and watched the two. "What the fuck are you starting now Linden?" While Xadrien had gotten along with Linden for quite some time, Cadence never had. Ever. They were always fighting, always feuding. It was a miracle they were in the same room as one usually refused an invitation if the other was going to be there.

"I don't believe you were part of the conversation, Cadence." he said without even looking at his younger brother. Cadence was the second oldest child. Linden was the 5th, though he seemed oldest. "You know, Xaid is the newest addition to 'Team Gay'." he said refferring to the nickname Caidren had given to the Four black boys as a group. Cadence, Adrian, Audren, and even Corbin though he was straight as a pin. The fact that he was a dancer was enough to earn the lable, but it'd been an ongoing joke with no offense until the words came from Linden's harsh lips.

"Leave Linden." Tessa hessitated to make Linden leave...he could do things without being watched but he could also cause a lot of trouble here. She was becomming increasingly more upset. "Leave now." she ordered her child.

"Indeed. Watch your shit Xaid. Could be fatal if you don't." he seemed to agree too easily with this and disappeared.

Andol could very esaily tell the instant that the room got quite that he had probably made the wrong choice, but he did not regret saying. He did not like this Linden one bit, and sinice the young man did not have the Physical presance to do anything, he diecded that he would use words instead. Though when he looked into Linden's eye he could see a dispicable evil, which told the young man that he needed to wacth his mouth. Andol did not plan on being pushed around, but he did not plan on antagonizing ethier. It was all about balance, but in this situation he had only done becuase first impressions are key. He had not meant to light the powder keg of emotions that he did.

The instant that Xaid had to come bettewen him and Linden was the moment Andol knew that maybe, just maybe... he should have kept his mouth shut. Yet the more that Linden spoke the more angry that Andol got. He did not like anyone talking that way to Xaid, but he also quickly realized that just him being around had caused a tip in a power struggle bettewen the two brother, in the direction of Linden. Though the young man knew there was nothing that he could about that, sinice Xaid would probably have found him eventually. Then Andol began to blame himself... was this family arguement all becuase of him... anyone could plainly see that this fighting had been going on for awhile, but this one specific one... Andol knew that it was his fault. I mean Tess was now crying for goodness sake. He felt really bad.

His thought process was broken when he felt someone pulling back on his chair and he heard the voice of Adrian wishpering in his ear. What he heard made more sense than anything he heard sinice he got here. He knew that could not protect Xaid pyschially, but he could keep his dragon form doing somthing stupid. That was when out of the cornor of his eye he caught the presance of another dragon entering the room. Yet it did not take long for him to realized that this new dragon... Cadence... yeah that was what his name must have been sinice Linden called him that. These two seem to dislike each other more than Xaid disliked Linden. For a second Andol could only roll his eyes with annoyance was Linden spewed out another homophobic piece of grabage. He was starting to thing that, that was the only ammo Linden had in his verbal arsenal. Which if that was the case, made things a whole lot esaier for Andol.

Andol saw his chance though to get Xaid out of this situation, and try to cool the big guy down. The instant that Linden left the room, Andol stood up and he took his dragon by the hand and said, "Come on Xaid let's step outside for a bit." He tried his best to make where it sounded a bit like an order, but it was more of a suggestion. The human really did not want to tell the dragon what to do. Pulling on Xaid's hand very gently he lead the larger male out the door, and down the hall a little bit, so that anything they said would not be easily heard, by those inside the kicthen. His voice was soft as he looked up into the larger male's eyes, "Calm down now Xaid. Are you going to be ok?" His question was mearly a gateway for the dragon to say whatever he wanted.

Xadrien was buzzing with anger, the heat in his blood rising, but still as he looked upon Andol his gaze held a certain softness. It had become the only stability his life really knew at the moment. He raked his fingers deeply through his own hair and drew a sharp breath. He could tell Andol wanted to calm him down, but didn't want to make it seem like he was ordering him to do so. While Xaid appreciated it, Andol would hopefully come to learn that his demands were never a burden to his dragon. It all depended on intention, and Andol's intention was always genuine.

"He's a fuckbag." was all Xadrien had to say. Still, Lindens words hovered over everybody like thick cloud of rain that loomed over a city for days. They were filled with promises of rain, heavy rain that limited visability to an unsafe percentage.

He pulled Andol into his arms as if food and water and everything he needed was in their embrace. His heavy breathing slowed for the time being but he knew that it was only the calming affect that Andol had on him.

"I'm sorry. I knew he was going to do this and still i dragged you to dinner. I just didn't expect him so soon."

Andol looked up at his dragon whom he could tell was just seething with anger. To tell the truth, Andol had the same anger bubbling deep in his own chest, but he had always been good about controling such emotions as that. He wondered though how Linden had even survived. He could tell that the other male was quite strong, but it seemed like egough of his siblings where aginst him that they would have just killed him off. When he thought this out though, he realized that he probably had only meet a small portion of the family, and for all he knew there could be others who where just as much of an asshole as Linden, or at least would have supported Linden in a fight.

He reached out softly to gently rub his hand up and down Xaid's arm, hoping that the contact would have an calming affect on the larger male, "Look I know he is a fuckbag, but if you give into that anger then you have let him win. Just ignore him." Andol really only saw a bully in Linden, though the only differnace was is that this bully did not have a coward hidden inside. The kind of cowardness that bullies seemed to have when someone stood up to them. Linden did not have that.

He felt himself being pulled into the larger male's arms and Andol softly wrapped his own arms around the dragon. He slowly ran his hand over the dragons back, making soft circles with them, "It is ok Xaid, you could not have known what would happen. Besides I am gald that I get to talk to the good part of your family. Linden does not bother me. Please don't let him make you get worked up like this. I am your master Xaid and I want to be here with you. If that mean that means anything at all." Andol was not sure that second to last statment really helped out, but he just want the dragon to know is that he would be there.

I am your master Xaid and I want to be here with you. If that mean that means anything at all.

Those words echoed in his ears, like a sweet nectar from the gods themselves. He pressed his forehead to Andol's, enjoying the feel of him from his energy to his physical touch. A sigh escaped his lips as he slowly pressed them to Andol's forehead in place of his own. The kiss was slow and lingering.

The words 'I love you' popped into Xadrien's head, but he quickly pushed them back. They wouldn't be coming from his mouth any time soon regardless of how strongly he felt love for his master.

"Whatever happens." he whispered against his skin then drew back slightly. He tilted Andol's chin up gently to meet his gaze and held it with his own warmly. "I will protect you to my death. I will protect our connection to my death as well." he whispered. All of the things that were important to him just a few hours ago weren't anymore. He didn't want east Arrex if it meant losing Andol. It was something Linden would never be able to feel. He prioritised power over love. "Just..." he grunted, hating to admit what came next. "I don't want you to leave me, Andol."

Adrian went out in the corridor and looked at the two. A slow smile formed on his lips as he whispered to the air, with no sound, 'I told you you couldn't put a gender on love.'

Xaid's back was turned to Adrian but it Andol was any good at reading lips or even paying attention the world around his dragons he would be able to see it.

The dragon's touch on aginst the human, wasn't like anything he had felt before. Xaid seemed to have the same calming affect on the human, as Andol did on him. Though for Andol it was more a sense of safety, and sense that nothing was ever going to hurt him again. He would always be taken care of, and he wouldn't have to be lonely ever again. Becuase he would always have Xaid right here at his side. The feeling of the dragons warm breath against his body, took out any angry that the young man had been harboring beforehand. Then the moment Andol felt the soft lips of the larger male touch his head, it was as though there was a fire streaking though his body, that originated form that spot. It felt good... Really really good.

Andol only wanted at that moment to wishper into the dragons ear, 'I love you', but he held his tounge. He wanted Xaid to be the first one to admit that, sinice it would make that it was at a moment when the larger male was ready. As he felt his chin being tilted up, and his eyes meet with those of the dragon, the only thing he saw was love and compassion. It melted the humans heart, and Andol wasn't sure though if Xaid even knew what kind of effect that he had on him.

The words that where spoken to him where the most beatiful things that had ever graced his ears. No poem, nor anything that he had ever heard, sound more beatiful then the proclomation that the dragon made to him. Andol believed ever word, without even thinking about it, becuase there was no reason for him to think about things like that anymore. Xaid would never lie to him, no matter what. All the dragon seemed to want for him, was for him not to leave. This stunned Andol a little bit, that Xaid did not know that he would never leave him, nothing could seperate him form Xaid, he nuzzled his head into the dragons chest as he spoke "I will never leave you Xaid, no matter what I will alway been right here beside you." He tighted his hug on the dragon a little to emphasize, on how much he meant what he said. Nothing would ever seperate him form Xaid.

Even though Andol was extermaly wrapped up in the moment he still had his eyes paying attention to the world around him. That was when he noticed the other dragon, but Andol did not say anything, and just contiuned to hold Xaid, hoping that Adrian would go back in the kicthen and not ruin this moment. The young man could in fact read lips, and what the other said made him smile, becuase it was somthing he had always believed, and lived.

As it turned out, Adrian would do nothing to ruin the moment. It was a rareity to see Xadrien so wrapped up in another individual and both guys deserved the experience. A small sigh escaped his lips and he turned back into the kitchen to help Tessa finish dinner. He simply wanted to check up on the dragon and his newly acquired master.

Xadrien let a small growl vibrate in his chest as he pulled Andol closer. As more of his master's beautiful and touching words rang through his ears he decided it would finally happen. He held the human's chin betwixt his forefinger and thumb and slowly began to descend upon his lips. Spicy scent, warm breath, drawing near--

When an explosive noise errupted off in the distance. Cursing beneath his breath, Xadrien fell against Andol, but keeping the weight of his body on his own feet. They couldn't win, could they? "I'll be back." he assured Andol, a frown tugging on his lips. As pressing as this could be he didn't want to leave him.

Adrian, Cadence, and Tessa flooded into the corridor, all having the same general reaction of surprise on their face.

Cadence spoke to Andol, a bit sorry they weren't properly introduced. "Xadrien and I are going to check it out." They were the primary caretakers of the family after all. Xadrien placed reassuring hands on Andol's shoulders and kissed his cheek before darting off with Cadence, muttering 'Fuck my life."

Adrian took a standing position behind the human, arms crossed over his chest. "Depending on what this is, it could get ugly. Just keep us updated on any feelings you have of pain from Xaid's end, alright?"

The young man let out a mental sigh of relief when he realized that the male dragon not going to spoil this moment that he was now having Xaid. He had never exprianced a moment as magical as this, and it was just so romantic. He was quite sure that it would only be a matter of time before they shared there first kiss together. Yet as Andol kept telling himself, it was Xaid's job to decide when that would happen, sinice he wanted the dragon to be ready. Yet stll a sense of nervousness ran through him as he thought about such a thing. He had never really been kissed before now that he thought about it. So it would not only be there first kiss, but thier first kiss period.

He could feel the larger male pulling him closer, as he realized that the words which he spoke where of the dragon's liking. Andol just did not speak them all hollow words, just trying to woe the dragon. No there where things that he ment, and he knew that Xaid new that also. Then it came, and Andol had not been expecting it so soon, as he found himself looking up into Xaid's eyes as the larger male held his chin. He could feel that lovely spicy scent as it it entered his norstirols. He could feel the larger male drawing closer and the scent became stronger, as that spark of shared attraction seemed to go bettewen the two, and Andol knew that he was about to expriance a magical moment.

Just as quickly as it had come the magical moment was snacthed away, when the young man heard the explsive noise errupting in the distance, and Xaid feel against him. The chance for a kiss at this moment was completely broken. He looked up into the larger male's eyes and said to him softly, "Just promise me you will be careful ok..." Andol had a bad feeling about this, a very bad feeling about this. He could see that the larger male did not want to go, as much as Andol didn't want him to go, but they both knew that Xaid had to.

When everyone else began to spill out, Andol realized how serious this situation could be. He just hoped that nothing bad would happen, but he had a feeling that it was. He looked in the direction of Cadence, "As I told Xaid, you two be careful." That was the only thing that worried Andol was them getting hurt.... especially Xaid.... well mostly Xaid. He did not really like the idea though as he wacthed them run off, and he lisitined to Adrian. Yet feeling Xaid's pain was just another thing that made there connection that much stronger. Turning to look back at Adrian he said, "Just remember to stay on your toe's Adrian. I have a very bad feeling about this." The only thought that went through, 'Loud noises make for very good distractions.' His eyes darted around, as he hoped that it was nothing major, his sometimes paranoid self, wouldn't let his gaurd down.

It was no time for introductions but rounding the corridor next was Adrian's twin sister Ariana who was exactly what Adrian would look like if he were a girl. Audren as well, followed by Lisianna. Audren was the smallest male in the room but it didn't take away from how handsome his face looked when his black hair was framing it.

The three siblings were quiet, for sure they were on standby. Ironically Lisanna was the most powerful warrior of the bunch besides Adrian. She was a very skilled Draconic female.

"If Linden is involved I'm not sure how much I can do, Andol. I have a feeling that's what this is." He frowned deeply as he thought about possibilities and what he could maybe do to stop it.

Simutaneously on the other end of the fight, everybodys suspicions were confirmed. It wasn't Linden himself but it was one of the warriors of east Arrex. Linden had taken it upon himself to announce that their king, Xadrien Black, was indeed gay. Gay as the prisoners that have been prosecuted in Arrex's dark past. That particular warrior had family member killed by not Xadrien, but Caidren.

The only thing that could take down a dragon was iron. Their blood reacted terribly with the material and proved very fatal. At the moment that's what was happening to Xaid and a pain ripped through him so deeply, a roar escaping his large body very loudly. He could feel his body dying, whithering, his blood tainting.

With injuries of his own, Cadence managed to slay the dragon and didn't bring Xaid directly to Andol but to a room in Tessa's palace. He had to fix a gaping wound in his own chest and not too late after did he descend the stairs of the palace, wearing nothing but pants and a bandage strapped across his chest. Xadrien wasn't following suit and it was a good indication that something was terribly wrong. Everybody would stare at Cadence and wait for him to tell them what happened.

Tensing up the instant he saw movment form the corridor up ahead, he immedatly relaxed when he noticed that they where all probably Xaid. Plus he could tell that Linden was no where near to be found. He them all over, and is only greeting at this point was a nod in the direction of each of them when they came by. It was hardly what he was thinking about, sinice proper greetings could be saved for later. Andol just hoped that nothing bad would happen.

Andol nodded his head softly, "That is exactlly what I am afraid of..." He had already known that small piece of information. Yet just as suddenly as he thought this he felt a small pain in his chest, which made his eye brow raise. Was Xaid being hurt.... no that couldn't happen... he wouldn't let it happen... so he took one step in the direction, but again he felt that pain in his chest, and this time it had spread to his arm. Just like the iron that was spreading through Xaid's blood, the pain that the dragon felt was also spreading through Andol's body, "Xaid... he's being...." He finally realized the truth as a pain unlike anything else ripped through his chest and arms, "....killed."

It was obvious where it looked like Andol was trying to go to, but the fact that he had only taken a few steps in that direction... at this point it seemed pitiful. He had forgotten that there where even other people in the hall with him at this point. All he was thinking of was 'Xaid is being hurt... he could be dieing... I have to help him.' Andol did not want Xaid to die... not now, not ever. Especially sinice they had just now gotten together. Then it happened... Andol's left leg gave out form under him, but the young man did the smart thing let himself just sink to his knee's. He just seemed to stare at the floor, anyone who attempted to help him just got waved off with the words, "No I am fine, just give me a minatue." He saw the world swimming in fornt of his eyes as he started to become dizzy, and he then threw up a little bit, but the instant the young man brought his fingers into view that he saw...... a scarlet liquid that now covered them. He began to get even more dizzy at the relazation that it was his own blood..

It did not take long after that before Andol's world began to fade out, as he said in a voice that anyone not close wouldn't be able to hear...."Xaid where are you?..... Please don't die?" With that the young man fainted and fell over unconious. It was not the pain that had done so, it was just that he had never really had a strong somacth and the sight of his own blood for the first time in awhile, made it where everything else that was piled on knocked him right out.

Tessa watched Andol nearly empathized his distress as if it were here own pain and suffering. Tears pushed out her lips and she covered her mouth watching the young man with no clue what to do. So deseprate he was to save his dragon with absolutely no clue how. It wasn't until she saw him grow weak that she yelled "Andol no!"

And within moments Adrian was behind Andol, catching him in his slender and powerful arms. He frowned checking for a pulse. Upon finding on her looked to Cadence. "How bad was it?" he asked, picked his brother's master up into a cradling position with his head supported agains his bicep.

Tessa rushed to Cadence's side while Adrian tended to Andol and checked over her boys wounds. Nothing fatal, good.

"Iron." Cadence choked with kind of an eerie tone. "They can't go back to east Arrex tonight. Linden let everybody know so kindly that their king was commiting a so-called crime. There's going to be rioting amonst the family of those who died." he explained as Tessa unwrapped the bandage to properly heal his wounds.

Adrian nodded, completely understanding. "I'm going to take him up to Xadrien. Is he okay to see? Is he stablized."

"Still in critical condition, but no blood. Just need some way to be sure that iron is coming out of his system. "

"Let's go do that then." Tessa said, following Adrian up the stairs with Andol in his arms securely.

When Adrian finally pushed into the room with his broad shoulder, he set Andol on the bed next to his dragon. Xadrien was knocked unconscious from the iron pumping through his system and Tessa began to make quick work of trying to rid her son's blood of the iron. He was bare chested but this time it was adorned with a new scar located betwixt his lungs.

Andol slowly faded in and out of consciousness as he laid there on the floor his entire body felt like it was on fire. The young man feeling the pain that I dragon with iron in it's system would feel. He could hardly even think, but he could feel himself being picked up, before he again was knocked out... Andol thought it was better when he was knocked out, and did not feel anything, even though being like this was probably not very healthy, he still did not care. It just hurt so much. He wasn't even thinking about his own pain though, it was Xaid whom he was so worried about at this moment. Plus the fact if Xaid was even still alive, he could feel the other through there connection, but still that did not mean that Xaid was not dieing. Andol promised himself if that was the case, then he would make sure to do everything that he could to bring Xaid back.

He realized soon that not only had he been picked up, but that he was being carried also. When he was aware of what was going on, all he could do was mumble, "Xaid.... Xaid..." It was all he wanted... his dragon. As he could barely sense the fact that he was being moved, he began to maybe hope that Xaid was not dead, and maybe just had been injuried greatly, yet his own pain that had caused him to pass out was egough to not count on that statment.

The next that he knew was that he was being put down, but where he was not sure. It felt so comforntable, that he knew that it had to be a bed. It when he felt a fimialer sense of calm... that he realized Xaid was close to him. His weak fingers moved over in the oppsiate dragon, and very soon they found a hand. Though he was not sure whose it was... he just hoped that it was Xaid's... and that was whose it was. Andol had found it by luck and weakly wrapped it in his own, this took his energy and probably had not been the best of idea's at this exact moment, becuasae it caused him to pass out and this time he stayed out... but his grip on Xaid's hand never lossened.

Tessa worked as quickly as she could and just in the nick of time managed to pump the iron from his system and let a sigh of relief escape her. For now her eldest son would be okay but he wouldn't be waking up for a while. He might even miss practice in the morning. After she set a class of cool water with ice and a complimenting pitched on the nightstand, she stroked Andol's hair then kissed his forehead. 'Thank you for coming being here for him.' she whispered, closing her eyes and giving him some good energy to heal off of. It should revive him enough to make him healthy in no time.

Then she kissed her own son on the cheek, her fingers brushing his scars. "They'll be fine." she said, but it was more of a question as she looked upwards at Adrian who towered over her. She stood in a room with her massive male children that didn't seem like they could be a product of her. Save for a few facial features.

Adrian nodded. "Andol will wake, and I garuntee it Xadrien will be well taken care of. I'll check up on them in a bit, go ahead and get something to eat." Previously Adrian had hunted for himself. He'd raided a field of cows and swallowed them all whole. Steak at its best right there.

He ushered his mother out of the luxurious kingdome on the moon. He would fill Andol in personally later.

It was not long before Andol began to reieve. Slowly as his eyes opened and the bright light hit them, it seemed that everything around him was blurry, yet they soon began to focus and then Andol again could see as he realized that he was now awake. Everything that had happened up until he passed out had just been so amazing that he wondered if he had just dreamed it all, and that he was going to wake up and find himself sitting in a bed in one of the inns around the area those men attacked him. Yet it did not take for a few seconds for Andol to feel the warm hand that he held in his own, and all it took was for him to turn his head and look in Xaid's direction, and with a soft smile he remembered that none of this had been a dream... it was all very real.

He began to slowly wake up even more and soon found that he had energy to sit up in bed, but he made sure to do it very slowly. He sat up and rubbed the sleepness out of his eyes. He looked over and saw the water that was sitting on the dresser, and then he looked over at Xaid. He noticed the large scar across the dragon's chest, and realized why his own pain had started in his chest, but why it had spread he was not sure. He did not see any other visiable wounds, and he did not know of any posion alive that could really take down a dragon.

Then young man leaned over and planeted a soft kiss right on the larger male's forehead. He was returning the kiss that the dragon had given him on his check before they this incident had happened. He looked down at his dragon softly and rubbed his hand through the larger male's hair. He knew that Xaid was going to be ok. He did not know what it was, but he knew that his dragon was going to be alright. He let out a sigh and reached over to where the table was next to the bed and then slowly began to take small sips of the water. It felt so refreshing, and as he drank it he contiuned to look at Xaid, and he said softly even though he knew there was no one to answer, "What is is that happened to you?"

Xadrien's body lay still, as though any sort of movement could corrupt the healing process.

It was only a few moments later when Adrian walked in carrying more tea and cookies. "Oh! Good morning. I'm glad you didn't sleep the day away." He sat down at the edge of the bed and set the hot tea down on the beautiful bedside nightstand. "I brought you some tea and cookies to help with your blood sugar and energy levels. I was hoping that while Xaid was recovering we could go into the town and perhaps get you some clothes. Mother suggested it and I think it would do good to get you some of your own items here." Then he paused, realising Andol didn't know why Xaid bared the scar still.

"East Arrex is rioting as predicted. Linden announced you as Xaid's master quite publically. This is the sort of revenge he seeks. Quiet, spiteful revenge, and unfortunately he is a smart individual. Very smart, actually." A sadness took the depth of his black eyes, but he shook it off. "We're going to sort that all out in one way or another. Xaid's scar is because he admitted it when confronted that he wouldn't give you up. He'd rather give up Arrex." he smiled softly. "Congratulations."

Andol frowned sadly at the unmoving body of the dragon. He took a small sip of water, and thought about it for a moment. Whatever must have happened was probably somthing bad... really bad. Though the young man did not know egough about dragons to really know. Yet he did know that it was probably best not to touch Xaid if he could help it, sense moving the dragon might ruin any healing processes that where currently going through the larger male's system.

He found his thoughts intrupped by the arrival of a very familar face, and greeted the other with a voice that could not help, but contain worry for his dragon, "Hello Adrian... How long was I out." Andol suspected that it was only a few hours, maybe he had just slept through that night and into the morning, becuase now that he thought about it, he had only just meet Xadrien in the nighttime. He looked over at that food that was brought, and he reached out, and took the tea and began to slowly drink it, "Thank you for this Adrian.." Yet his eyes did seem to perk up a bit when he heard the word 'shopping'... it was not that he was a bit fan of it, it was simply that he wanted some new clothes. It had been so long scince he had gotten any. Yet he also didn't want to impose, "But I don't have money to buy new clothes with." Andol was not asking to borrow money, nor was attempting to mouch off of them in any manner. He was only stating a fact, that he did not have any money. What little he did have was still in that allyway, among the blood and guts of those three men that had attacked him.

As the other dragon explianed to him what had happened, the young man's fist began to ball up, and soon his kuckles where turning white. He felt so helpless... helpless to protect Xaid... Helpless to stop..... No he was not helpless egough to try and keep Landin form hurting Xaid. Andol did not say anything about it, becuase he was quite a humble creature and did not figure that Adrian would believe him yet he did let one sentance come form bettewen his lips, "Not smart egough..." It was not that Andol underestimated Linden, it was more that the young man was just confident in his own ablities to outsmart people.

The last sentance that was said, though began to bring soft tears to his eyes, though he was not crying yet he was very close to doing so... no one had ever been so loyal to him before. He wanted to say to Xaid, 'I love you', but deicded to wait until Xaid could actually hear him. By now there was an almost stream of tears running down his face, becuase in a way he felt like it was his fault... and in another he was so happy that Xaid would give up so much for him. It gave him very mixed emotions as he had tears of joy and sadness running down his face, "He did... all that... for me?" His words where being broken up as he attempted not to cry.

Adrian shifted his position so he could comfortably face Andol and offered a grin. "Don't sweat money right now. It's on my mother and it will hardly make a dent in her pocket." he joked at a human sense. He stood up and offered a hand for Andol to help him off the large bed.

"I really am looking forward to spending time with you and you need it considering Xadrien won't be waking up until morning. You'll probably get antsy and anxious to see him. I'll keep your mind off it."

Adrian knew what Andol would be going through for the next few hours. It would be a mix of happiness and anticipation. Appreciation as well. They would probably hold each other as though it was their last few moments together. And most certainly they would want to be alone.

Andol laughed softly at the joking sentiment, yet still he was not the type who could let a debt go unpaid, "That is very nice of her. Next time I see her I plan to tell her that I will pay her back when I get the money." Andol was not just saying this to score Brownie point, but it was something that he really and surely meant. Reaching out and taking the larger male's hand, Andol slipped off of the bed, in what could be called a feminine manner. It was actually quite funny since his body was a slender one, yet Andol did not carry himself with any sort of feminine nature. Which he realized he was going to have to make clear when they were looking for clothes.

"I am too, but where is that we are going, I have never really been to any place to shop for clothes in years. Though I want to thank you in advance for taking me out shopping. I probably would have sat here waiting all day for him to wake up if you hadn't." In truth Andol would still prefer to watch over Xaid and make sure that nothing happened to the dragon. It had been so scary and painful. He never wanted to be separated form his dragon, and he did not care what those people thought about Xaid now... the fact that Xaid choose him over power, told him all he needed to know. Andol was the type who if given loyalty, returned it. Which is exactly what he planned to do.

When he stepped down onto the ground, he realized that he was still wearing those oversized clothes that he had received form Xaid earlier. He had noticed that what he was wearing was kind of loose, so he turned to Adrian and asked, "You don't have anything I could wear while we are shopping do you. These clothes really don't fit me all that well, and I would like to look nice in public."

Adrian laughed, genuinely enjoying this time he was spending with Andol. "I'm sure my body type is more compatible with yours, Andol." He smiled and took his hand. He led him to his own room down the hall and pulled out some clothes that would suit andols body type. Just a basic shirt and pants really.

"And trust me," he said, leaning against the dresser, elbows propping him up and stablizing his already sturdy body. "My mother doesn't want your money. You're family now and you mean more to her than that. Pay her back with something less materialistic and she'll be happier than ever, I promise you."

Andol just smiled at the dragon, and began to follow after him, "Let's hope so... it would not really be appropitate for me to wear such loose clothing in public anyway." He laughed alittle at the statment, though as he looked at Adrian and realized that he was going to be spending some time with the larger male he took to asking the other a few questions, "So Adrian do you have a master too...?" It was an obvious question, but he hoped that the other would elaborate on which of the people in the family had masters or mistresses. Thinking of one day he could have someone whom he could talk to and relate too, seemed to be like a good idea.

He followed Adrian in his room, and reached out and took the clothes that where offered to him..."Thanks Adrian. So where is it that we are going to shop at?" The young man then went into the nearest connecting pritive room, and it was about five mintues later that he came out where what he had been given. He was gald the shirt was black though, sinice it did macth his hair and his eyes. That was the color that the human thought that he looked the best in. Yet as he lisitined to the larger male speak, a certian word struck him, and he realized somthing....family...

He had not really had a family in so many years he had always been so alone and afraid, but it seemed to good to be true, and as he spoke his voice showed that sense of hesitentince in his words, "You really mean it..... I am part of the family." Soft tears of joy slide down his face, in a stream. It could be said that Andol was a little to over emotional and seemed to show his emotions so esaily, but that was not really the case. It was simplty that his life had shifted for a night to day differance that it just seemed like a dream and was so hard to believe.

Adrian's features grew only slightly solmn at Andol's question. A very small sigh escaped him and he shook his head. "Not anymore. The connection was...severed." He said the last word hessitantly and as morbid as it came out it wasn't a wonder why. Quickly though he recovered from it. "Lissianna's goes for dragons, so she doesn't want a master. Probably never will have one. Cadence has one, but they live outsite of mother's kingdome in his master's hometown. And Corbin, but I think that's about it. The rest of us still are searching. "

His eyes didn't make contact with Andol's as he recovered from talking about the sensitive subject, and his slightly nervous hand reached behind him and found the closest object. It just happened to be one of his rings. So he put it on and began fumbling with it on his fingers.

"I figured we would go around town of the kingdome. It's not safe for either of you to be anywhere else. Besides, my mother is a very high fashion type of person, so there are lots and lots of nice stores." He laughed heartedly. "I am sure you will find lots of things you will like in the square."

After Andol had put on the clothing successfully he stood from the dresser and nodded. "Of course you're family. The look on Xaid's face when he's around you...the softness to him? Well, if you'd met him previously as not you, you would think he was a different person." He hugged Andol when he saw the tears coming out. It was most certainly touching. Adrian's scent drifted off of him. Not as strongly or spicy as Xaid's but still a bit spicy with a hint of vanilla. "You always will be from now on, Andol. Just as long as you keep doing what you're doing." He drew back and rested a kiss on his cheek. It was an action a brother or sister in law would give to you.

When Andol saw the sadness in Adrian's eyes, he regreted asking the other male who his master was. He did not mean to bring up such bad memories, he had just been curious about it. When he heard him contiune on, Andol was happy that the dragon had picked up on his underlying question. Scince the subject seem to be sensitive to Adrian, he really did not want to ask who the other's dragons masters where. He also did not want to ask what had happened, sinice it seemed to bother Adrian so much. He did infer that his connection to his former master had not been severed through death, sinice Adrian was still alive. Yet even though he did not want to ask, that did not mean that he was not curious.

Yet Andol did notice how few of them actully had master's, in his mind at least he did not think it could be that hard to find the person, or at sense where they where. Yet he wondered if the dragons even sensed where thier masters location was, maybe it was somthing that they just stumbled apon if they where lucky. He assumed this because of the way Xaid had asked him when the dragon had taken him back to his castle. He kept feeling worse about asking that question, becuase of the way Adrian was acting. So he diecded that he would not say anymore about it.

He hardly heard the talk about what shops they could find in the square, he had been thinking to much about his own statment and tried to control his tears when heard, 'Of course you're family.' This normally would have made Andol cry a bit worse than he was right now, if Adrain had not pulled him close in a hug... He scent the other gave off was nice... he began to wonder if all dragons smelled this good. He hugged the dragon back and after the kind kiss on the check, Andol finally able to stop crying, and he looked up at Adrian with soft smile as he wiped away his tears, "Thank you so much Adrian... that means alot." Under his breath he said, 'more than you will ever know'.

He figured though that it would be best to stop thinking about unhappy things and just start thinking about thier shopping trip, "Well, I am ready to go when you are.... No need to waste anymore time on sad things." He did not know where to go, though sinice the palace was so big, and he had no clue what direction to go to get to town.

"You have to remember." he said, beginning to try to tackle all of the questions that Andol may have had. "Xadrien is the oldest of us all. He outweights me by thousands of lbs and hundreds of years."

Adrian decided it would be nicest to take an old fashioned and leisurely walk. The air was warm on their skin and the light the moon gave up from beneath them was serene. Everything worked together very nicely.

"It took him those thousands of years to find you. So it isn't abnormal that my younger siblings had never had a master or a mistress."

He led him out of the palace and into the beautiful town. It was almost average, save for the structures looked expensive in a victorian like manner. Alot of them looked like classics, old antique shoppes and other things of the like. Even the clothing stores were vintage and most of them were small. It was a nice town with a sense of home and security.

Adrian led him into one of the shoppes and began requesting garments as they spoke, but everything he requested seemed as though it was handmade for Andol. Adrian knew what looked good on people, and he was a very perceptive individual.
