As odd as Andol found it, and still even Tessa sometimes, it was pretty normal for siblings to fight in Dragonic culture. Competition was never really that friendly and it was always a constant battle for power, but it wasn't abnormal. Their father, Caidren, had fought for years and had killed many of his siblings in his rise to power. Finally, he had to kill his parents to seal the deal. With no remorse, he did so carefully and quickly.
A small smile lifted the corner of Adrian's lips. He coughed, doubling over slightly in pain. He was sure that Xadrien had also injured one of his ribs. Ah well, nothing you could really do about a broken rib...just let it heal. He had plenty in his lifetime, so dealing with this one wouldn't be difficult to do.
"I'm fine." he muttered, still weak and learning to breathe. Sure it hurt to talk, cough, and make any sort of normal movement but it would subside. "I'm rising, but as for shining? Well, I think my ribs probably have a lovely colourful bruise you could classify as a shiner."
Though his eyes were weak and weary, his features were still very handsome. A hand draped idly over his ribcage and he let out a very slow breath, inhaling even slower. It took alot of effort really. Looking up at Andol he made one last attempt to smile. The blood wasn't coming from a mouth wound. It was internal bleeding coming from his mouth, caused by the restriction of his airways.
"Don't be too hard on him, now." he said, half joking. "He really only wanted to protect you. And sometimes I don't think about how harsh my words sound." Again, he let out a painful breath. It was jagged, as his voice was too. "Just remember. When you get upset, he gets upset for you. And it's always about 10x more upset than he has to be. It's kind of like projecting your feelings through your dragon. Its amplified immensely. "
