Escape From Miami - OOC Chatter

Yeah, it's a bit different, but it works beautifully once you get used to it. I promise you. :)

Plus, you can always make a shout out in here if you have issues or questions about it too and either me or Krys will pipe up about it since we're both very familiar with how it works. hee. XD But yeah, it's a great way to keep track and hopefully my little additional blurb in the Posting Rules thread explained it decently well. Or well enough. >.< But again, never hesitate to ask. :)
 
If people want to start implementing Time Labels, do people want to start discussing approximately 'when' they think their characters are from when the RP started? That way we can sort of decide how we want to label and we can start using it from here on in. But until we know 'when' people think their characters are, we're sort of at a standstill with that.

That said, I'll start off as to 'when' I think mine are (and don't be afraid to say you think yours are at a different time EVEN IF THEY ARE DIRECTLY INTERACTING WITH MINE, LOL!...... the whole point is we're discussing so we can come to a decision on times and move on together as a group). :)

So... we'll say Day 1 is the day the RP itself started (for now) and so on --

Ronni - Day 2, early evening
Tessa - Day 2, early evening
Alex - Day 2, afternoon
Wendy - Day 2, later afternoon

If everyone else could say 'when' they think their characters are, that would be great. So, let's get that ball rolling. Thanks. :)
 
Jack- Day 2, Early Evening
RJ- Day 2, Early Evening
Ace- Day 2, Early Evening
Alexis- Day 2, later afternoon
Kevin- Day 2, later afternoon

That's where all my characters are in my opinion I hope this helps :)
 
*nods* It does.... and I'm glad we're on the same page too. LOL! XD Given our characters are together in 2 different groups. I only have one that's off on her own, lol.
 
Sounds good. I'm going to be pretty busy today myself. Got a bunch of stuff going on. But I'll be on in the evening to post and do whatevers, lol. XD
 
I love the idea of time tagging, as it fleshes out when and where your character or characters are. I will say that a possible way to enhance such thing is to have effects from previous events pop up in posts elsewhere at other times.

As for the idea behind them, as I said they are criminals in the US, but also remember they can also be a source of intrigue and interest. AS Miami is walled and "outside the US.... it is possible for those outside the US to actually contact and or supply/aid those on the island. That is what happened, if I am remembering Escape from LA right....
 
Right. But can you share as to 'when' you think your characters are though so that we can sort of figure out a compromise as to how to deal with what I'm terming the 'time hiccup'? That way we know without a doubt when everyone is and can actually start implementing the time labels? If everyone doesn't do this sooner than later, I'll just make an executive decision based on the majority of what I get as feedback so that we all can proceed forward and not be delayed for too long and such.

Also, if people have ideas on what they'd prefer for time labels, that would be great as well. I know I used the whole 'day 1, day 2' thing. But other suggestions are fine since that might get cumbersome after a while if we get into high day #s. lolol. But who knows. XD
 
i was thinking that to with the possibly getting to high Day #'s i unfortunately can't off the top o my head think of a alternative either but i was just thinking say way into this thing a new person comes into the store and is doing there first day within the prison but have to time code at say day 154 to be at the same point in time as the people actively in the story that would sound a little funny so um idk a alternative on what to call times by but brainstorming about it with everyone could certainly be a good idea. maybe a in game date/calendar
for example we get a starting point to what was day one in game play say just for the sake of examples it was decided to be June 13th 2013 then we just continue on from there those in day two would be tagging it as June 14th 2013 so on so forth. with of course the time of day added on with the date.
 
*nods* Exactly my thoughts on that... it would look pretty funny and could get a bit confusing even. I like the idea of a date. I'm trying to think of what the date was in Escape from LA. I might have to look that up. We can figure a rough date off of that. With Krys' one character being the son of Snake Plissken, we know we have to go at least 25 years AFTER the LA movie and probably even a bit more since we have to account for time for her character's parents to have met and done the deed and all that, hehe. But it'll give us a time point. :) So yeah... kinda liking that suggestion myself. *nod nod*
 
Yay google...... ok, so LA was in 2013. So, it has to be AT LEAST 2038 for Krys' character to be around, lolol. And that's assuming Snake met RJ's mother immediately upon escaping LA. But, maybe Krys can figure that part out... RJ is her character, LOL! XD
 
Snake was arrested in 1997 after breaking into the U.S. Federal Reserve in Denver, Colorado. and sent to NY prison
after NY and him being pardoned Snake robs a casino and steals the car that JFK was killed in

There are some of the important dates within the series to help you out with coming up with dates for our RP i know only the last one is important for that but figured i'd list the other important details in case anyone ends up needing info on the other events for some other reason.

*giggles* Yeah, but the other dates are important too. So it's all good. XD Main thing we do know now is that the RP will take place in at least 2038 or later. Since Krys knows her character RJ best (obviously, LOL), she should know when Snake and RJ's mom got together and what not and thus approximately when RJ was born given those dates. That will let us know our exact date since Snake is our constant. XD YAY we will have a date soon! HOORAY! XD *does her dork dance*

Also...... awesome suggestion on the date idea. I really like it. Just reiterating. :)
 
hmm left wondering if RJ's mom might happen to be Utopia the presidents daughter who snake saved not only from the prison but again at the end of the film when she is about to be electrocuted and he kills the power to the world or did he just leave her there and then find some other women hmmm interesting things to think about lol . can't wait to see where Krys goes with the backgrounds of RJ .
 
LMFAO!!!! @Warlock I was actually going to go with Utopia being RJ's mother so it's funny that you mentioned it I figure after Snake turned the power off he gets her out of the electric chair and the two go into hiding end up bumping uglies and that is how RJ was made lol then whe the power finally gets turned back on Utopia is captured and sent to Miami after it's built sound good to everyone?

Oh and I want some of those marshmallows just sayin' :p
 
woot woot!!!! *pops a few marshmallows listening to the story* Works for me, hehehe!!! So sounds like 2038 is our year then, LOL!!! Since June seems to be cropping up as the month, why don't we just roll with it and say we're at June ??, 2038. Anyone care what specific day?????
 
Ok. Let's go with 13 as the start day of the RP since Warlock mentioned it. I'm good with that and hey... why the hell not. LOL! So, June 13, 2038 is the day the RP started and we progress from there. So day 2 will be the 14th and so on. So, whatever day people think their characters are at that's the day it is. And those who haven't spoken up by now.... well..... sorry. You've had more than enough time to do so. Decision has been made and based on feedback I've seen, it all makes sense to me. Sound good????
 
Sounds good to me *passing around more marshmallows* let me know once you've done a post with the new time stamp method on it so i can have a reference to how it should look when i do posts from here on out on here. :) i really am liking not only the story in Miami but how the group as a whole is evolving to be better and better and really well structured and put together because o a group effort of different people having input. well done on everyone's part.

I'm liking how things are evolving as well, both story wise and group wise. Makes it that much more fun. As I always say, it's the people as a whole that makes a group RP what it is. :) And I think we have a pretty amazing group here.
