Able to love and be loved in return

He held Katrina close to himself and he looked at her. "Okay, everything is fine," Grant said to Katrina. "I'm here and I'm not going to leave you. I'll be here for you whenever you need me." Grant wanted to kiss Katrina but he didn't because of the fact that she had a bad dream and he didn't want to startle her once again.

Katrina looked up at him still frightened, even though he said everything was okay. Katrina cuddled into him the best she could. She then rubbed her eye, and noticed the blood she pulled out a white cloth to wipe her bloody tears away.

After that she had whiped her tears, Grant gently kissed Trina her lips. "You mean everything to me and I am never going to leave you anymore," Grant said after the short kiss that he had given her. He smiled and hoped that she thought the same about it as he did.

Katrina seemed like she always wanted to be alone but she hated it. At times yes she liked to be alone, but other times she couldn't stand it. Without her family she felt alone they had all died and moved on while she stayed behind. Katrina was just passed the mark of being considered a vampire child, though at 16 she still couldn't do much. She still needed someone older to look after her, and help fend for her. Her parents or Sires or someone who could help care for her. Being sixteen Katrina couldn't buy a home, get a well paying job, couldn't hang out in bars, she was right at the age of consent for sex. Katrina would forever remain that way, dainty and doll like. Blood kept showing at her eyes. She accepted his kiss still in his arms and still attached to the bed. Trina couldn't find words, words to respond with. Blood filled tears still fell from her eyes.

Somehow, Grant seemed to know that Katrina was bothered at being stuck at the age of 16, but he could age so he didn't really thought about being stuck at one specific age. Slowly he stopped the kiss and opened his mouth, starting to talk: "Katrina? I have an idea so that we can live together and all stuff like that. Well, actually I have two but I'm not sure about one. I've heard from somebody that a vampire can age if the vamp drinks blood of werewolf just before that the sun comes up. I'm not really sure about it though." He looked at her and winked, then continued: "Otherwise, we can still let you dress a bit older and then we move to somewhere else and buy us a house there. At least, if you want that."

Katrina rested her head on his shoulder. "Hm? What are you thinking about?" She asked she didn't like his last few ideas, and wasn't sure what she would think of them. "Who told you that? I doubt that's true...we sick to the age of death." She replied, vampires remain the way they were when they died and that was how it was, they're bodies couldn't grow. "I don't wanna move I like it here..."

"A magician told me," Grant said, not looking weird to her. "I think that it's quite possible though and I don't really care about trying it. And don't understand me wrong, I also like it here but I want to spend as much time with you as I can." Grant looked into her eyes and smiled a bit. "I just don't want to leave your side again." He caressed her back as he kissed her forehead.

"A magician? Your going to beleive a magician. Grant...I'm dead....the body can't age once it dies." She replied magicians were quacks and she was living dead or undead depending on the term. "I know...we can still spend time together...don't you think your rushing a bit?"

"No, I'm not rushing things. It's just... You told me that it's still possible that the Counsel is going to kill me so I want to have done something in my life. I don't want to die like a boy who missed the biggest part of his life," Grant said, looking a bit sad at Katrina. "I just want to let you know how much I love you before I die."

"You're 18...I'm 16 granted my body wont age but my mind will...Well I don't know...The Counsel is tempermental they may not...and how would getting a house far away change anything? They will track and find us...I know you love me Grant and I love you too."

Grant knew that Katrina was right but he hoped that there was one way that could make her age to the age that she wanted to be. "But there needs to be a way!" Grant started. "And I think that if the Counsel wants me death that they are going to do it without any witnesses because otherwise more people find out how cruel the Counsel is." Grant his hands were shaking a bit, he was quite confused because all of the things that happened it the past weeks. "I'm happy to hear that you also love me..."

"Grant there isn't away to change it, My body will be firever young, stuck at the age of death. It's how it works." She snapped slightly, he was too optimistic for his own good. She didn't mean to snap butit was a touchy topic for her. "Indeed they would or at lest in front of other members"

"I don't believe in that Katrina. I believe that there is one possible way to change your age. But I'm okay if you don't want to believe me about that," Grant said, going in the defense. He knew that he was right and that there was at least one possible way to make her age. "Well, I'm not scared of the Counsel. They look all old but I don't believe that they all were turned when they were old." Looking into her eyes, he started to think about the truth. Was there really a way? Or were they all changed at the age that they were?

"Don't believe it than." She replied she knew shewasright and vampires can't really age. "You might not be but J do. Fear them. Vampires can look old due to not feeding." she replied back

"So you say that the counselors aren't feeding on humans?" Grant asked curiously. He always thought that the counsel were the vampires who fed most on others so this was quite a shock for him.

"No I'm sure they are, but sometimes human are hard to catch, so animals, will do. Maybe they hadn't fed yet but most of the Counsel is noble or royality, so they were probably turned when they were older as a sort of deal. Or to cheat death." she explained

"So if a Vampire drinks blood from an animal instead of from a human, they will look older too?" Grant asked. He didn't knew that much about Vampires but he had a decent knowledge about them. "Noble? Royalty? You got to be kidding me... They just looked like some old vampires with some weird clothes on. They didn't even looked smart!" The only Vampire that Grant knew and that was a bit smart, was Tesla. Tesla was written in one of his school books and Grant only read other books that were going about Tesla.

"Well, we can survive on animal blood but it doesn't give us the nutrition that we need, so say I'm 100 years old and I live on animals I won't be as strong, as fast, as quick, as good looking as a vampire who feeds off of humans."She tried to explain it was a very confusing process. Katrina was shocked as he spoke about the Counsel, "Grant they are our elders, counsel, because they have lived through the centuries. They had experances through the years, wars, loses, they've been through it all. They don't look much now but they were looked up to in there prime..." Katrina replied. Katrina must not have ready that chapter not knowing a Telsa.

"So humans are top-food and Animals are lower rank food?" Grant asked. Also he noticed that Katrina looked quite shocked as he said that about the Counsel. "Come on Katrina. Be honest, I've never heard something good about the Counsel and I never even saw them being honest to other Vampires. I just think that they use their Counsel name as cover up for what they are really doing." Grant didn't knew what to think about the Counsel but what he was thinking, wasn't really that good.

"Yes they are, animals don't taste as good either." She replied. She listened to Grant, as he spoke. "Grant I've never had to go before them and I don't personally know them. They make our laws and rules we live by, this is how we can walk about our food without any problems. How would you know if they have been honest with other vampires? Do you talk and hangout with them? Cover up what? What would they being doing?"

"I've read about Tesla. He isn't like the Counsels and he is the oldest Vampire but nobody knows where he is," Grant said as he looked at Katrina. "And why would they be honest with others if they are considered to be the perfect vampires? And I've seen them and they did looked quite ... trustful? No, not that. The opposite!" He walked around in the room and then continued: "Probably they have kidnapped some humans or something. I'll find it out."

"I've never heard of him, before." she states she was sure that there were vampires older than the counsel but it was hard to find. "That's why at least to their own kind, we follow their rules, I'm sure they are...you must remember you are a werewolf, vampires and werewolves have been fighting since our creation, you wouldn't trust them and I'm sure they did trust you..." Katrina replied laying back on the bed. "You will not find out and we all know they have humans, it's no secret, they are used as servants, slaves, and food."

"Never heard of Tesla?" Grant asked quite shocked. "I thought that he was very popular after the things that I've read about him." As he walked trough the room, he looked at Katrina. "I think that I don't hate Vampires, they are just like us... The only problem is that the past is a barrier in future alliances," he replied. "The only question I have is this one: why would they use humans if Werewolves taste better and can produce more blood then a normal Vampire." He looked straight in Katrina's eyes, looking for an answer that she maybe wasn't going to say. "The only thing that the Vampires need to do then, is to end the Vendetta with our Tribes."

"No never...Her may very well be popular I'm still young for a vampire so I'm still learning." She stated. She listened to Grant. "Grant you are one werewolf and you like one vampire...We are similar, but still different from each other in many ways. Well human is our main food source and the humans become servants, to the vampires, werewolves wouldn't want to become slaves because of their blood. It's not a friendship thing, vampires hate humans too they are beneath them." She tried to explain she didn't really have all the answers. "Wait for the Vampires to end the Vendetta...no the werewolves need to take part too, it takes two to tango the wolves hate the vamps just as much as the vamps hate the wolves." She stated it wasn't just the Vampires faults if the werewolves didn't piss them off it would be fine.

"So, the Vampires consider themselves as THE race that need to rule over Humans?" Grant asked, he knew that it was true, Vampires always considered themselves as the Aryan Race. "I don't really think that the Vampires want to end the Vendetta, then they lose control over the Humans because Werewolves are closer to the humans then the Vampires are," he added. Grant wasn't really sure how it was going to continue, the only thing that he was afraid of at the moment was losing Katrina. "Let's just drop this conversation. It isn't going anywhere and we aren't really sure because we haven't talked to the Counsel and the Tribes about this," he said after a short silence.
