"Gaisse...." she hesitated a moment longer as she considered trying to talk him out of this once again, but she knew, this is how it had to be. There was no stopping him now and the only thing she could do was boost him with her confidence. "I will run, but I will not flee without you." She pointed to the door. "He keeps it locked from the outside. If you can get it unlocked I will run as far as the horse, but there I shall wait for you. No talking me out of it." She ran her thumb over his cheek and kissed him once more, "I love you Gaisse."

Gaisse nods softly as he leans in to kiss her again, letting his lips linger on here for a few moments enjoying the feel. "You need to get him outside, for me. I will need the room to challenge him." His fingers caress her cheek softly. "I'm sorry it took me so long to come get you." He ducks back out the window giving her another smile. Moving slowly he gets into position to ambush jas.

She leans out to watch him as long as she could see him. After that, she went about the room to prepare herself for what was about to happen. She had nothing sharp to defend herself so all she really could do was go to the door and wait until.... she though of something. She only hoped that Gaisse could work with what she was about to do. She started to bang on the door and call out, "Jas!! JAS!!! Oh Jas open the door! Let me out! HURRY! HURRY!!!"

Jas pauses midbite hearing her voice suddenly. It takes him a few moments if hearing her voice to figure out she really is talking and not just in his head. Swallowing slowly he stands, moving to unlock the door slowly. "Y....you decided to talk to me finally? Is everything alright Lily?" He moves into the room checking on her stomach quickly.

She seems frantic and pushes past him and into the main room. Step one, she was out of the room. Step two... she had to get him outside where Gaisse could fight him in the open. She clutched at her heart, she is a good little actress with seeming distressed as she fights to catch her breath. "There was... there was a man! He tried to come in through the window!! I was so frightened!"

Jas blinks as she comes rushing past him looking terrified. Upon hearing her words he scrambles to look at the window anger burning through him. "Stay here where it is safe Lily." Moving quickly with his sword drawn he steps out into the sharp cold air. His eyes start scanning the area noticing the foot prints leading up to the cabin. It is only the crunch of the snow that warns him in time to bring his sword up in defense. He pales seeing Gaisse there before him, his hesitation gone quickly as they begin dueling. Gaisse looks better equipped this time from his training with Angus.

Lily looks about, finding a dagger that he had left behind and is quick to snatch it up and keep it in her hand as she rushes out into the snow, no cloak or anything on. She sees them fighting and hesitates to stop and watch, but she made Gaisse a promise. She must not distract him now. Staying close to the walls of the cabin, she follows it around to where the horse is. Taking the reigns, she brings the horse closer to be able to watch from the trees. She had to know if she would be leaving here with Gaisse or runing from Jas.

Gaisse pushes himself back away from Jas, making sure to keep the mans focus on him. "I intend to end this tonight Jas, no Lily stopping us this time." Jas refuses to answer just motioning for the man to come at him. Gaisse obliges him as he charges in their blades coming together in a loud clang. Gaisse brings his fist up driving it hard into Jas' side knocking some of the air out of his lung. As Jas stumbles back his blade comes up slicing deeply into his arm almost as if he was returning the wound from their first fight.

Lily has to place her hand over her mouth. Without it she feared that she could very well cry out and distract Gaisse. He needed all his concentration now. And Jas had to die. It was a terrible thing to think and to accept, but it was the only thing that could happen now. She had tried to save him once and it had only blown up in her face. There was no way to be happy with him still out there to hurt her. It was painful. She felt guilty. But it was the only way. She only hoped she did not loose her Gaisse in the process.

Even with all of his training Gaisse is soon being pressed back by Jas. Ducking at the last moment Jas' blade buries itself in the wood above his head. Giving out a yell he charges forward ramming his shoulder into the mans stomach. Driving him back into the snow, they both go down exchanging punches as they roll through the snow. When they get back up Gaisse's eye looks as though he is took a few hits, but Jas' nose is broken badly. Swallowing softly he sets his feet breathing heavily as he watches the man readying his next line of attack.

Lily has to move about a bit to get a better look as they moved about, yet kept her distance. It was hard to tell from where she was who was more damaged but from the way they moved they both seemed equally matched all the same. This was going to be close yet still she held onto hope and whispered to the wind, "Please... please Gaisse.... please...."

Gaisse circles for a moment before both men come charging in at each other. They both bring their blades down slashing at each other as they pass. Coming to a stop a few feet apart both men turn to face each other again. Gaisse lifts his blade slowly as blood begins to flow from the deep cut across the mans stomach. Jas' eyes go wide feeling the pain from the wound as he stumbles slightly. Gaisse moves towards him slowly, but the man seems to have more left as they begin to clash blades once more circling each other.

Seeing Jas hit like that, a small hint of that feeling she once held for him long ago bubbled up to the surface. It was less a feeling of love though and more a feeling of pity. She still knew this was how it needed to be yet she wished it did not have to be. It was a shame things had come to it. Her hand rested a moment upon her belly. Things could have been so different....

A part of Gaisse finally steps in forcing him back and his blade to lower. "You are beaten Jas, Ill give you this once chance to go back inside and let us leave." Gaisse knows it is foolish, but the man deserves to have a chance to repent of his evil deeds.

Jas laughs softly shaking his head. "Im not going to let you take her away from me again." He brings his sword back up slowly. "Didnt Angus teach you not to lower your defenses." Before his words are even finished he is charging in violently. His blade is barely turned to the side in time but still nicks Gaisse across the cheek. Continuing the turn, Gaisse comes around and drives his blade straight through Jas, just as the man had done to him. This time though his blade hits the mans heart, causing his eyes to go wide as he collapses to his knees.

Seeing that the final blow had been meet, that it was all over, Lily comes running from the woods and comes to her knees beside Jas. There would be time to shower all her love and thanks upon Gaisse, but knowing that Jas was dying... the least she could do after what they had once had, was make him comfortable in his final moments. "I'm sorry Jas..." she tells him, tenderly stroking his cheek, hoping to help him find peace.

Gaisse turns hearing Lily come running from the woods. He steps back slowly as he moves to bring his horse around, wanting to let her have a few moments alone. He knew they had loved each other once, but now he was here and it was time for Lily to be truly happy. He keeps himself and his horse back out of listening range as he watches them.

-----
Jas blinks softly as he feels Lily's hand against his cheek stroking softly. "I...I just wanted us to be happy Lily." Blood begins to pool on his lips as he struggles to breath trying to find the right words. "P..please take care of our child. Don..Dont hate him as you hated me in the end." His eyes begin to dull and a moment later he lets out his final breath eyes turned towards the sky staring blankly.

Tears filled her eyes as she saw the life fading from him in that last moment. Just as she knew it was coming, her lips lowered to his kissing him one last time, putting the last of the love she had felt for him into it. "I will. I will love him as I once loved you Jas... I promise you," she whispered to him, hoping he would hear it and take that knowledge with him into the after life.

Gaisse swallows softly as he pulls out an extra cloak from his saddle bags. Leaving his horse behind he moves to her placing it over her shoulders carefully. "Lily, its close to sundown. If we are going to make it back tonight we need to get going." His hands stay on her shoulders offering a gentle touch, without burdening her with anything more. He has the chance to move away, but he stays close ready to offer her a hand if she needs it.

She takes a moment to kiss the now dead Jas upon the cheek, her trembling hand rising up to gently shut his eyes as she laid him down in the snow. A moment later, she was taking Gaisse's hand to help herself to her feet. A moment later, her arms were wrapped around him in a full embrace. "I'm sorry you had to do that..." she told him as she pressed her head to his shoulder. "No one should HAVE to take another's life."

Pausing, she looked down at Jas and sighed. "We... we can't just leave him like that... can we?"

Gaisse swallows as he holds her close his hands trembling now as the moment has passed. "I tried to let him walk away again Lily. Im sorry he wouldnt take it." Lifting her carefully he places her up on his saddle gently. His head turns to look at Jas for a moment as well. "No, we cant leave him like that. Wait here love." His fingers brush against hers as he turns away from the horse.

Moving carefully he lifts Jas from the ground carrying him back inside the building. Emerging a few moments later he is carrying a torch that he begins to light the cabin on fire with. "In my lands, we burn our dead. It helps guide them to the after life." Making sure the fire is going he toss the torch down and moves back to slide into the saddle behind her.

She had heard of such traditions before. It seemed a fitting way to pass on for a warrior, which was what Jas had once been. Long ago at least. And honorable warrior. Once.

As he slipped into the saddle with her, she wrapped her arms around him and rested her head upon his shoulder, sighing, "Take me home Gaisse. Please just take me far from here. I want to put this in the past." Yet her hand moved to her stomach. As much as she wanted that, there would always be one bit of the past that she would always have as a reminder.

He glances down at her as she rest her head on his shoulder. Swallowing softly he brings his hand up to her cheek, as his horse his nudged into a walk heading back for the manor. "I still love you Lily. And I ment it when I said you were late for our wedding." Brushing a few loose strands back over her ear, he smiles softly. His hands next move to make sure the cloak is secured around her tightly, wanting her to be warm. As he is working to secure it, his hand brushes her stomach before coming back and laying there lightly.

Feeling his hand on her belly, she grew tense and tried to wiggle enough to knock his hand away from where it lay. "You... you don't have to wed me still Gaisse. What's growing inside me is enough reason to the contract between our families to be broken. I can't make you a very honorable wife for your land with a bastard in me. What would you do when the child is born?" She didn't say it but... the question hung tense in the air if he could care for a bastard child that was not his own flesh and blood.

Gaisse moves to tilt her head up to face him, keeping his hand where is on her stomach. "Your father asked me if I wished to break the contract. I told him only if one of us, or both us were dead. I will still marry you Lily." His hand rubs her belly softly. "As for the child, I care not what anyone says. I believe that man in there was someone you care for once. Therefore I believe his child deserves a chance to have a complete family." He leans in and kisses her tenderly.

Her lips meet his happily. Her hand coming up to stroke his cheek as long as the kiss lasted. When at last they separated once again, Lily rested her head upon his shoulder, shutting her eyes and taking in a deep breath of him. How she had missed him and being so close to him. "Thank you..." she whispered before relaxing so full for the first time in so long that before long she was sleeping in his arms.

Kiana sat by the fire with Nessa, the two of them rounding with child and knitting little outfits. "You know," said Nessa, "I over heard our husband's speaking yesterday. They have made a bet as to who's child will be born first..."

Groaning and rolling her eyes, Kiana smiled as she glanced down at the two children playing upon the floor at their feet. Angus was over a year now and Sarah soon to reach her first year. "I am not surprised. Next they will be taking bets as to the size and the gender. Men..."
