He lifts his head to start to say something but is to late as she vanishes out of the tent. He lays back clenching his teeth together tightly. He rolls on to his good side staring at the wall of the tent before letting his eyes slip shut. He begins to drift off slightly trying to keep himself attuned to someone coming back into the tent.

It took about 15 minutes but she did return to him, a single plate in her hand. Placing it upon the the small table beside his cot, she gently nudged his shoulder, "Eat," she told him softly as she went to tend to the dying flames in the pit, building them back up a but to warm the tent. She poured him a cup of wine and placed it on the table for him.

He opens his eyes feeling her nudge. He sits up slowly watching her for a few moments before picking up his plate. "Where is your plate Kiana?" He takes a sip of the wine she poured his eyes on her watching quietly. He glances at the plate picking at the food not really eating much.

"I'm not very hungry," she told him, "I picked a little at your plate on the way back here." It was a lie. She didn't tell him that the man at the food line made inappropriate sexual suggestions to her about how she could get a second plate for herself. Kiana was lucky she got the one without getting assaults in return for it. The respect others held for her and the women among this army of men was clear. But knowing that if she told him this now, he'd only get upset and possibly strain himself where it was not needed, that kept her from talking about it.

He sets the plate down watching her for a moment before offering it to her. "Ill eat after youve had some more." He reaches over to get some water drinking from it deeply. He leans back against the cot closing his eyes once more as he tries to adjust himself to get comfortable.

Coming over, she takes a bit more of the food to please him, picking at it lightly, but still leaving a fair share of the food to him to pick at one more time before he drifts off to sleep. "You had better finish that before you pass out which I suspect will be rather shortly if you are not careful."

He nods seeming to be happy with the bit of food she did take. He begins eating at it slowly his eyes seeming to not rest on any spot for long but never on her. He finishes the plate pushing it away as he lays back down on the bed. "Are you going to sleep in the bed or should I get on the floor for you?"

She sighed a little heavy, "You will not simply accept you sleeping in the cot on your own... will you?" She should have known. Picking up the plate, she wipes it clean with a damp cloth and places it on the main table, returning to the cot. "If I sleep on the cot with you, I could hurt you. And you will NOT be sleeping on the floor..."

He starts to push himself himself up from the cot looking at her. "Then if you wont take the cot neither will I." he reaches for his cloak and the saddle to his horse starting to make a small cot on the bed. "Ill be damned if I let a woman sleep on the floor just because I have a scratch."

Sighing once more she stopped his attempts to make another cot which would be terribly uncomfortable for either of them, "I will sleep on the cot with you, but on your good side. I suppose it will be useful in making sure you do not lay on your bad side.." She put his cloak and saddle back where they were meant to be while he got himself comfortable on the cot once more.

He blinks as she stops him pausing for a moment before moving towards the bed slowly. "Alright then Kiana." He lays on the bed getting comfortable slowly. "If it helps Ill keep my hands to myself." He pulls up the blanket to keep at least some kind of barrier between the two of them.

She finished the last of her chores around the tent, making sure that the flames in the fire pit where left as just warm coals before she came to the cot. "It's alright... I trust you will not misbehave in your condition or against my wishes..." she told him as she laid herself out on the cot next to him. "With no virtue left to protect it does not matter much anyway," she commented as she turned herself on her side to give him room to remain on his back.

"I wish you wouldnt try to demean yourself like that Kiana." He turns slightly reaching out to take her hand gently. "I know you hate the way I treat you but I dont know any other way to treat you. And before you even think it I wont even conteplate treating the way some of the other men have." He sighs as he lays back shaking his head slightly as he closes his eyes.

She did not attempt to remove her hand from as she spoke, "I do not hate the way you treat me..." she informed him. "It's the fact that you treat me unlike I ever expected to be treated that has my frightened and puzzled. When your army came in her, I prepared myself for the worst. I prepared myself to have to struggle and fight for my own life and my purity with every last ounce of breath in my body. I never anticipated... well... you...."

He lets out a soft laugh as he turns slightly to look at her slightly. "What is it that makes me so nerve wracking to you exactly?" He smiles as he begins stroking the palm of her hand with two of his fingers slightly. "I mean I know Im different from others slightly but Im not that much different."

She turned over to face him more directly, only removing her hand for his a moment as she readjusted herself on the cot, "You treat me..... nice..." there was a little shrug in her shoulders. "I thought I would end up sold to a man like the ones that tried to force you to sell me to them. You heard what he said about his woman. Beats her, forces her. If you were a man like that, I would know how to handle myself against you. But your not... and I'm not use to men let along a nice one."

"I couldnt treat you like that Kiana. I..I was raised differently." He shifts his hand to touch her cheek caressing softly. "I dont want to scare you off. I find it refreshing that you stand up to me and dont just drop to bow and scrape the ground like some of my parents servants do." He looks into her eyes his own reflecting kindness as he smiles.

His reminder that he was much higher above her in the social class sense of the word. It opened many new questions in her mind. She wanted to ask if she was going to be expected to be like those servants in his household or if there was even a place for her in his home, but all she asked was, "Why did you go to war? Join the army? It sounds like you did not need to." Kiana could tell that he was getting tired and hoped to talk him to sleep.

He yawns softly his eyes closing for a few moments as he thinks over her questions for a few moments. "I went to war because someone from my family had to go. My brother was better at the logistical side of running our fathers lands. So in a way I could have stayed but my brother would have been killed in a way like this. If not by someone we were fighting then by his own stupidness." He yawns again closing his eyes. "I want you to go home with me."

So, he had a brother. Kiana wondered for a moment what he was like, along with the rest of his family. How would they take the idea that their son had bought himself a woman? Her new fear inside was not being accepted by his family. What if they demanded her turn her out. What would become of her then when she had no where else to go? She kept all these things inside thought as her own eyes grew heavy with sleep. "If you like... I will go with you..."

He smiles as he gingerly drapes an arm over her waist encircling her waist protectively. His eyes slip shut as he begins to drift off the wine he had earlier making it easier for him to get to sleep. His arm flexes slightly as his instinct to protect her remains even with him asleep next to her.

The next few days were far less eventful as the first few days they had known one another. She of course watched over his wound like a hawk and was happy to see it was getting much better. By the time Grego and Tessa appeared at the tent once more, in Tessa's arms was the folded dress she had made. Kiana had almost forgotten about the dress he had swore to buy for her. "I hope you like my work. I will admit, it might seem rushed, but it's one of my best works. The others will be just as good." The mention of other dresses, Kiana looked to Lund. Had he not told her that they had only agreed in the end one the one?

He enjoys the few days as they pass letting her nurse maid his wound as much as needed to make sure it heals. He smiles when Grego and Tessa appear with the dress. He eyes the dress catching her look as the other dresses are mentioned. "About the other dresses Tessa. Ive decided that for now this one will do but Ill still pay you for all three due to the inconvience." He takes four cups setting them on the table and filling them with wine.
