Lily had no idea that they were now being followed. Especially by Jas. She was actually enjoying herself as she kicked at the sides of her mare to speed her onward even more. A light laugh fluttered out of her lips as she yelled out towards him, "I'm not giving up that easily. I'm on your tail Gaisse!" She called out to him.
 
Gaisse smiles laughing as he hears her words. "Well just being on my tail isnt going to win you this race my dear." He spurs his horse again letting out his own yell of enjoyment. "Come one Lily. I know you both have more then that to give." He rides on not knowing the rider following them from a short distance away.

Jas pulls a small cloth from his pack using it to cover his face from the man riding with Lily. He should be the one riding down with her laughing with enjoyment. A pang of jealously and anger flashes through him as he pauses wishing to see where the ride would end before making his move to grab Lily.
 
Something inside of Lily suddenly rang with an alarm. She tugged on the reigns and forced the mare to slow herself as Lily looked about. The race didn't seem important at that moment. It was like a sixth sense inside of her was trying to warn her of something but as she glanced around, she saw nothing.
 
Gaisse turns himself reining in his horse as he hears Lily and the mare pull up behind him. He swirls with his hand dropping down to one hand. "Lily whats wrong?" He moves back towards her slowly as he drops a hand to his sword hilt. "Why did you take stop your horse?" He swallows albit out of breath as he scans the area before looking at her.

Jas hunkers down slightly as the horses come to a stop. He frowns slightly behind the mask unsnapping his sword to get it ready to charge down at them. His eyes lock on to Gaisse feeling anger well up inside. He sees Gaisse as the man who is trying to steal the woman he loves away from him. "I wont let him take you my love."
 
Lily looked about the hills, the unease refusing to let her go. "Have you ever had the feeling like.... like you are being watched? Or like danger is lurking nearby? The feeling in the very pit of your belly?" She looked right at him, a hint of a frown on her face. "I have that feeling at this very moment..."
 
Gaisse follows her gaze to the hills swallowing heavily. "Perhaps we should head back then. I do not wish to put you into any danger." His eyes move to the hills scanning them once more his stallion pawing at the ground. Half drawing his sword as he spins the horse keeping the hills in sight. "I think your right. I do feel like were being watched right now." He moves his horse between her and the hills swallowing.

Jas begins cursing under his breath as he notices Lily looking towards his hiding spot in the hills. He draws his sword riding towards the top of the hill letting himself be seen. He tries pitching his voice lower trying to sound mean his eyes on Lily. "Ride away from the girl and keep your life lordling. Just ride away or I will run you through in front of her."
 
She nods her head to Gaisse and starts to agree with him, "I thinking back would be wi-" she stops as she catches some movement from the corner of her eye up upon the ill. Her face goes pale at the sight of a rider, sword drawn and the sun catching it's gleam a moment. "Gaisse...." she said softly as her eyes remained fixated upon the rider on the hill. She didn't want to believe it, but her heart told her at once who it was. What was he thinking? "Jas... no..." she whispered under her breath, lightly shaking her head.
 
Gaisse nods as he turns his horse letting go of his sword as he points the way back to the manor. He turns towards her when she says his name then whirls seeing the rider upon the hill. His sword is drawn without a thought or hesitation as he moves to defend Lily from this unknown rider. "You will not bring harm upon Lady Lily." He nudges his horse to block Lily from the riders sight.

Jas swallows as Lily's fiance stands up to him. His eyes glance toward Lily as he tightens the grip on his sword shaking his head. "If you value your life ride back to the manor now. I wont ask or warn you for a second time." His eyes immediately move to Lily as he nudges his horse down the hill the confrontation between the two growing closer now.
 
"Don't do this!" she called out seeing the rider starting to move yet still holding her ground at Gaisse's side. She knew what was doing on but did not wish to go calling out Jas's name or scold him. Through it all she still did not want him in trouble. Yet she did not want either man in this terribly triangle hurt either. "Turn around and just go away!" she yelled at him, her eyes pleading with him.
 
Gaisse swallows heavily not wishing to fight in front of Lily, but unable to give her up. "Lily I want you to ride back. I will do what I can to keep him from following you." His horse spins sensing his mood change even further as he grips the horse with his knees. "Do as your lady commands rider. Just turn around and go away."

Jas shakes his head quickly. "I will not ride away from the woman I love. You cannot love her." His own horse spins pawing at the ground as well. "I love her and will be riding away with her not you." He glances towards Lily his eyes meeting hers once more as he smiles under the mask. "I wont let him have you."
 
Lily sighed. Well that had just given him away for sure. She had told Gaisse about her past love so now that he had declared his reason for wanting a fight... it was clear who he was. Lily still did not move. She knew that if she left, someone would likely end up dead and only prayed the men would not kill one another in her presence. "Why will you not take what I want into you thick head! I have made my choice! You would force me to go with you? Against my will? You think that would win my favor and my love?"
 
Gaisse turns towards her after hearing the mans words. "This is the man the rumors spoke of. Lily I did not think he was still around to cause you trouble." He lets his sword relax slightly hoping that Lily's words would some how diffuse the situation without a fight. "Listen to her words man. Neither of us need die here. Besides Lady Lily is a beautiful treasure,but not one that wishes to be fought over." He spins his horse moving to let Lily lead with more words if she wished.

Jas swallows heavily as he sees the other man lower his sword. He ignores the example and keeps his own sword out and raised his horse eager to charge forward."I can think of no other way to get you to listen to me Lily. No matter how much I proclaim my love you simply ignore it. Now this man who can give you treasures I cant comes along and you simple jump to him. I wont let him cloud your mind like this." He glances towards Gaisse. "Lily is a treasure alright, but one you will never understand."
 
She shook her head, "You don't seen to understand me either Jas..." she said feeling pain inside her very heart and soul that he was just constantly not listening to what she was saying. "You don't understand the words that come out of my mouth. Gaisse has not clouded my mind with anything more then his kind words and feelings. I want no treasures from him. When I loved you I wanted no treasures from you. All I want is for someone to listen to me." She looked to Gaisse then to Jas with his sword still raised high. "Who listened to me when I asked to not fight? Why do you not listen! You are not doing this for me Jas, you are doing this for yourself and the idea of you love of me. Not for the real love of me in your heart. I'm am ideal to you. Not a real person with a voice and feelings."
 
Jas hesitates looking at Lily then towards Gaisse slowly letting his sword fall to his side. "Your wrong Lily. I love you whole heartedly. I do listen,but no matter how I hard I beg you refuse to listen. You constantly accuse me of not listening. Well now I say it is you that isn't listening." He tugs the mask from his face staring at her. "Now I beg you to listen to me and your heart."
 
She is silent for a long while before sighing. "Speak your peace Jas. I have spoken mine many times now, this is your chance to speak yours..." still she did not think it would change her mind much at all. He would have to say some kind of world altering miracle to change her mind and where her heart lay at the moment.
 
Jas swallows softly as he looks at her glancing towards Gaisse for a moment. "Lily I know Ive made mistakes, but all I ask for is a chance to fix them and prove how much I love you. I dont think that is to much to ask of you is it?" He glances towards Gaisse for a moment as he sheathes his sword nudging his horse closer to her. "I can give you anything you want? If you want the moon I will find a way to give it to you."
 
Lily had a look of pain over her face. Jas seemed to be honest with her. But... Gaisse. She found herself connecting for him in a totally different way then she ever had with Jas. And he deserved so much. Jas? There was one thing that no matter what Jas said she could not ever look past when she weighed out the two. "Just when I needed you most Jas... when I needed you to stand by my side. The time that was cause mainly because of you... you abandoned me. You ran away and made no promises to ever return. You only return when the smoke cleared. You expected me to take you back but I can't do that Jas. I want someone that I can trust to stand by my side when I need them. Not leave me feeling completely alone..."
 
Jas swallows heavily. "How many times must I apologize for that. I have begged you for forgiveness. And after begging you for forgiveness I have confessed my love to you." He moves to ride closer to her, but keeps her between himself and Gaisse. "I have tried everything else to convince you of my love. This is the only thing I feel I have left to do Lily. I love you more then anything why else would I come back for you Lily."
 
Lily was silent for a long while then. She knew she had to say what was in her heart, though she knew it was going to pain Jas something terrible. She could not foresee what kind of action it would bring forth from either man now involved in this triangle, but it was the only think left to say, "I'm falling in love with Gaisse, Jas... and I don't want to hurt him any more then I want to hurt you." She glanced towards Gaisse a moment though there was no smile on her face, "No matter what I do I will hurt one of you. No matter what I do there is no winning in this for me."
 
Jas swallows heavily as he glances towards Gaisse for a moment gritting his teeth together. "Ive come back for you Lily. I dont have anything else to offer you, but love. I have no money like him, but I can pledge myself to you like no other." He moves closer to her placing his hand on hers for a moment as he looks into her eyes. "Please give me a chance to show you how much I can care for you." He takes her hand lifting it to kiss as Gaisse shifts in his saddle.
 
Lily felt like her heart was breaking in two. Part of it was going to Jas. Part of it was going to Gaisse. Neither of them seemed to be holding the full entirety of her heart and she did not want to have to give it to either one of them for she knew it would only destroy the other. What was she going to do. She looked at Jas. She looked to Gaisse. She kept on looking at Gaisse... wondering what he had to say about his. What he said in that moment was possibly going to decide the fate of her heart.
 
Gaisse swallows softly as he pushes his sword back into his sheath hanging on to his side. "I have grown fond of you Lily and I wont lie to you. I wish for you to be happy. Whether your happiness comes from standing by my side and being my wife or going with this man. I...I cant and I wont force your decision Lily." Gaisse reaches over to her touching her cheek a moment before letting his hand slip away from her cheek. His stallion nudges against her mare softly as he looks into her eyes. "Take your time Lily. I do not wish for you to hurry and regret later."
 
Gaisse's deceleration that he wanted her happiness no matter what the choice touched her heart. The fact that he would be willing to give her and the happiness of himself so she could be happy... it was such a selfless act. She sighed and turned to Jas once again, "And if I would truly be happiest in this world with another, Jas, would to accept that as well?"
 
Jas glances towards Gaisse his forehead furrowing slightly at the mans words. "I dont think I could do that Lily. I love you to much to just be able to give you up like that." He nudges his horse towards hers moving to take her hand softly. "Please Lily I just want to make you happy, its why I came back instead of hiding away."
 
That answer said the last thing she truly needed to know. It was a hard choice to make but Jas had decided it for her. "So if I was going to be miserable... if the only way I could find happiness was with another, you would rather see me unhappy?" She shook her head and gently slipped her hand from Jas's, "That is not love. Love is wanting the one you love to be happy no matter that meant. You say you want to make me happy in one breath then contradict that very statement in the next." She smiled a moment, really thinking he might accept her choice. "I will always care for you Jas but your answers are very telling. I seek selflessness." She reached over and reached to take Gaisse's hand if he would offer it to her, "And someone that could seek my happiness even if that meant that the cost of their own." She wanted a love like Kiana and Lund had found.
