The Day Before You (closed for MoonlightRomance and Josu_T)

Tim saw the box and was a little surprised. At her urging he opened it and looked inside. He smiled when he saw the ring. He recognised it right away. Well, almost. It wasn't exactly the same as the one from the year before. He looked over at her happily, then let out a chuckle. "So did you take this from me last year just so you could give it to me again this year?" He laughed and then kissed her tenderly. When he pulled back he shook his head. "No, I know this isn't the same one. It is really nice though." He took it and put it on. Then he gave her another passionate kiss.

Roxy was glad to see the smile on his face when he opened the box, that meant he like it. When he joked that she was the one that stole it for the purpose of re gifting it to him Roxanne simply shook her head. "I assure you I did not take your ring just to give it to you again." She said before kissing him in return. "I'm just sorry Chase took it from you. I remember how much you loved the first one." She said softly before kissing him in return once more.

Tim chuckled at her response. He hadn't been serious at all. "Don't worry about it. This one is even better because it is from my girlfriend." He pushed the empty boxes and wrapping paper onto the floor and wrapped his arms around her, pulling her onto his lap. He held her there as close as he could get her and kissed her passionately. He knew that the other ring had technically been from his girlfriend, but not while they were together. He thought about the ring and when he would wear it. Wearing it all the time might lead to having it taken or losing it somewhere and he didn't want that.

Roxanne watched as he pushed the now empty boxes and the wrapping paper onto the floor and as he wrapped his arms around her and pulled her into his lap she smiled. She didn't bother to to correct him when he stated that this ring was so much better because his girlfriend had given it to him, not wanting to ruin the moment. As she sat in his lap and he held her close to him Roxanne returned his kiss with just as much passion. "Babe, I love you." She said softly as she looked to the fire place, where she noticed a fire was going. "Did you start a fire while waiting for me?" She asked and as she awaited an answer she took his hand with the ring on it and laced her fingers with his.

Tim smiled as their lips parted. She asked about the fire place, but he wasn't really thinking about it. She took his hand and he lifted it up and kissed the top of her hand. Eventually he gave an answer. "Yeah, I guess. Didn't really think about it. Not that important, is it? What do you feel like doing now during our first Christmas together?" He'd be happy to just cuddle for a while, but eventually they might get bored. There was plenty they could do, it was just a matter of doing it.

She shrugged at his question. "I guess it really isn't that important." She said, watching as he brought her hand up to his mouth and kissed it gently. "Well, what do you feel like doing my love. We could always figure out what to do for dinner, if you want. After all, we do seem to work quite well in the kitchen together." She said before kissing him.

Tim looked into her eyes happily when their kiss ended. He wasn't sure what to do though. He was worried about making suggestions because he had done that before and ended up dealing with her being upset. Her suggestion about dinner was interesting, but it was still early. They hadn't even had lunch yet. They had all day. "Sure, we can figure it out, but we probably won't have to start that until later. What will we do now? Do we really want to watch another movie? What about games or trying to go outside? We might actually be able to travel a bit if some snow has melted."

"Why don't we get some lunch first and then we could try and go outside?" Roxanne leaned in and kissed him. Despite the fact that she doubted the snow had melted enough to make travel possible she was willing to try. "What if we can't get outside, we could always play a game or something then." She suggested.

Tim nodded slightly and smiled at her kiss. He slowly pulled back a bit, but kept his arms wrapped around her. "Lunch sounds nice....after some morr cuddling. I'm not ready to get up yet. I think we should be able to get outside even if it is a little awkward. If we can slowly make our way to the road then we will be able to actually get out. In a couple of days we can do what we said we need to do. Of course, if we can't get out then playing some games in here by the fire is probably the best option." He had some ideas of games they could play. He felt confident that they would be able to make their way outside at least a little. There hadn't been fresh snow for some time. Surely it was melting at least a little. It was probably why their power was still working. If it had been snowing still then the power likely would have gone out again.

Roxanne watched as Tim pulled back some and although it worried her a little, she took comfort in the fact that his arms remained around her. "More cuddling is always a good thing. Especially a girl is lucky enough to have a boyfriend as sexy as mine." She said with a smile before leaning down and kissing him on the lips. As she pulled her lips away from his she looked over his shoulder and the back of the couch and out one of the windows. While she couldn't see anything but snow and knew that to see exactly how high the snow still was she would have to go up stairs, she noticed that it didn't look as tightly packed together as it had before and also looked closer to a slush more than a solid. "It is at least beginning to melt." She said, pulling her eyes away from the window and smiling at him weakly. "It won't be a problem getting out, though if it doesn't provide much support we won't be walking very far." She said before kissing him once more. "But for now, what shall we have for lunch?"

He smiled, glad she thought that about him. She really knew how to make him happy. He shrugged when she mentioned the snow. He wasn't worried. He wasn't ready to think about making lunch yet either. He chuckled and pulled her closer. As he did he dropped to the side to lay on the couch with her laying next to him. He kissed her lovingly and simply held her as their lips parted against. "Didn't we say more cuddling first?" He laughed and then added, "We can figure out what to eat when we go into the kitchen. There is plenty there still. We have many options."

When he chuckled and pulled her closer Roxy looked at him with a somewhat confused look on her face. She was about ready to ask what he found so amusing when he dropped down onto his side, pulling her gently down with her so that she was laying with him and as they laid there she realized what he thought was so funny, he was probably laughing at the fact that her mind was always wandering to the future, even when he just wanted to enjoy When he kissed her she kissed him back, looking into his eyes when their lips parted. "Yes, we did." She said. "I guess one of the advantages to the way my parents stock food ahead is when something like a blizzard happens there is tons of food." She joked.

Tim didn't respond. He just continued to hold her close, trying to get her to focus on the moment. He ignored everything she said and just cuddled with her there. They had plenty of time to discuss what to do in the future. They didn't need to waste a perfectly good time together by talking about things they had already spoken about. He kissed her whenever he felt like it. After a while he started to get hungry. He lazily reached a hand up and brushed some hair out of her face and smiled at her. "Getting hungry? I think it is time to get something to eat. What do you think?"

When Tim didn't respond to what she had said and just continued to hold her close, it didn't take long for her to calm down and for her mind to stop racing. As she did she just laid their with Tim, not speaking but rather just simply enjoying his presence. When he would lean down and kiss her, Roxy would kiss him back before letting her head return to resting on the couch, closing her eyes. By the time he began to get get hungry and reached a hand up to her head, brushing her hair out of her face lazily Roxanne opened her closed eye and looked at him with a groggy stare, it taking a few moments for her to even begin to form a reply. "Yeah, a little." She said before yawning, letting out an almost small squeak noise as she did which she was sure he would find cute. "Something to eat sounds good."

Tim chuckled at her little sound. He slowly got up from the couch and helped her up as well. Taking her hand he walked with her into the kitchen. Once there he looked around at their options for food. They had a number of choices. He found a few things he might like and looked over at Roxanne. "How does soup and sandwiches sound? Or maybe a salad?" He moved over to her and kissed her cheek. He already knew what to do for his suggested meals, but if she wanted something else he would do it for her. He'd do anything to make her happy or keep her happy.

As he helped her up from the couch and took her hand, leading her into the kitchen, Roxanne happily followed. As he found a few things that sounded good to him and looked over at her she was leaning against the counter. "Soup and sandwiches sounds good to me." She said, smiling as he came over and kissed her cheek. "I love you." She said as she reached her hand down and took his.

Tim nodded and smiled at her. He got as much done as he could to prepare the meal with her hand in his. They worked together to get their lunch. When the soup was warm and the sandwiches were made they got dishes and served the food. Then he set it all on the table and sat down next to her. He started to eat quietly, enjoying the meal with his girlfriend. It wasn't anything special, but it was a nice moment.

As they worked on preparing their lunch together Roxanne did what she could without pulling her hand away from his, the physical contact making her feel closer to Tim. When they did have to separate, though she didn't wander far from his side. When they got themselves dishes and served the food she watched as he sat it all on the table, simply taking her seat rather than offering to help because she knew he would insist she let him do it. As he took a seat next to her she leaned over and kissed him on the lips before beginning to eat.

Tim went fairly quickly through his food. When he finished the meal he moved closer to Roxy and wrapped an arm around her as she finished her lunch. When they were both done he kissed her softly. It took just a couple of minutes for them to clean up all the dishes. When that was done he took her hand again. "So, I guess we should get dressed for going outside and then see how far we can get out that door. I'll meet you at the door once you are ready." He kissed her once more and then went to get dressed as warmly as possible to go outside.

When the two of them were done eating and the dishes were cleaned she nodded when he said they would meet at the door when they were both ready. She then headed up stairs and began to dress herself in what would keep her warm the longest. After about ten minutes she came down, dressed in multiple layers of clothing and a pair of snow boots on her feet.

Tim joined her a moment after she got to the front door. He was dressed as warmly as possible. He smiled and hugged her. "You are beautiful even bundled up like that." With that said he opened the door carefully to see what it was like outside. Because of the warmth of the house over the days the snow right by the door was much lower than the normal level beyond. At its highest it was about half his height. It would be hard to move through it, but he was sure they could if they did it in a smart way. It also looked like it could be easily compacted. He decided that they best way would be to crush it down as much as possible. That was when he had an idea. He rushed back into the house and found some cardboard boxes and some plastic bags. He wrapped the cardboard in the bags to make them waterproof. Then he returned to the door. He set down the cardboard on the snow and then startedto use it to press down the snow and start making a path that they could more easily use to get to the road. Gradually it worked and got the snow compacted so the level of the path was a little above his knee height. Crawling along the raised path let him compact more of the snow which he did by laying on top of the cardboard. Eventually he got to the cleared road. He stopped and turned to look at Roxanne with a smile.

When Tim joined her a moment later she smiled and hugged him back, unable to keep herself from blushing when despite her being bundled up he complimented her on how beautiful he thought she was. It seemed in the last several days alone with Tim as a new couple had gotten her used to his compliments, and she now seemed to believe it when he complimented her rather than shrugging it off as she had done when they were just friends and she was sure he had noticed it.

As Tim opened the door carefully Roxanne could see that that snow closest to the door was much lower than what was beyond it, but what laid beyond it was the problem since it was easily half the height of Tim and up to where it almost covered Roxy stomach. She seemed almost worried about how they were going to get out when she saw Tim rush back into the house. When he returned with cardboard boxes wrapped in plastic bags she watched as he began to make a path for them. When he managed to make a path to the road she smiled. "You, my amazing boyfriend are a genius."

Tim smiled back at her and made his way along the path to the door. He sat there for a moment and then thought of something. They had a way of getting around in the snow so they had a way of getting out if one of them got stuck. He grinned at her as he stood. "Well, time for some fun now. Why don't you see if you can get me?" He laughed and stood on the path. A moment later he leapt as far into the snow on the front lawn as he could. He squirmed and dragged his way further from the front door.

Roxanne watched as Tim made his way along the path to the door before following him outside and she noticed that he paused for a moment to think. Roxy closed the door behind her and went over to him. "What's on your mind, love?" She asked softly. When he grinned at her before standing a moment later she got her answer. Then, when he lept as far as he could into the snow that was still quite high on the front lawn. Roxy rolled her eyes at him for a moment before chasing after him as he slowly made his way away from the front door.

Tim saw Roxy coming after him and he laughed. He made a quick snowball and tossed it at her, just missing. He then continued going as far as he could with ease. As she tried to follow him and was distracted with moving he quickly tried to dig under the snow. He was able to make a small hole that he crouched in and tried to disguise. It wasn't a very good job, but he pretended he was hiding. He carefully dug out the hole more under the snow, gently placing the removed snow back on the top of the opening. He knew Roxy would be joining him at any moment so he finally made a few snowballs to use in defence in case she attacked.
