The Day Before You (closed for MoonlightRomance and Josu_T)

As Roxanne chased after him she could see him making a quick snow ball and also saw it throwing it but figured it was made more for distracting her rather than actually hitting her as it just missed her. As she continued to chase after him she paid little mind to the fact that he was making a small hole to try and hide in. Several moments when the hole was dug and he disappeared into the snow she made her way as quickly as she could to where he had made his hole and she looked carefully, noticing a disturbance in the snow. She rolled her eyes and dug the top off only to find him waiting with a few snowballs made. "I would say you, sir, are under attack." She said with a smile.

Tim saw the snow move and spottedher hand pulling it away. Then her head came into view and he grinned. Her comment made him laugh. "What are you going to do? Bury me in here? That wouldn't be nice. Or maybe throw snowballs? But I already have some, you will have to make them." He laughed again and tossed one on his pre-made snowballs at her. He didn't bother to see if it hit her. He immediately moved to the edge of his hole to take away as much of himself as a target as he possibly could. He blindly tossed another snowball in her direction to possibly get her to back off. He prepared himself for incoming snow.

"I would consider burying you in here but not only would it not be very nice but I would miss my boyfriend far too much." She said, and when he threw his first snow ball it hit her gloved hand but it didn't phase her. Roxanne kept her eyes on him as he moved to the edge of his hole, figuring he was trying to give himself as much as an advantage as he could. When he threw another snow ball at her it almost hit her in the face, had she not moved her hands up to protect it and it caused her to back off and when she did she began to make her own snowballs.

He heard her back off and quickly started to pull snow out of the bottom of the hole on one side and used it to make more snowballs. He occasionally tossed a snowball in her direction to keep her from coming close again. He was able to get a good number of snowballs prepared and tried his best to dodge anything she sent his way. He wasn't sure what she was doing since he wasn't really paying attention. He was able to make a little tunnel under the snow in the direction she had been. He slipped into it feet first and was covered from anything she could do from most directions. He stayed there and waited to see what she might do.

As he slipped into the tunnel he had made Roxy had occasionally threw a snowball his way while slowly making her way to hide behind a tree near by. Once she was hid behind it Roxy stopped throwing snow balls at him thinking if he thought she had given up she would get him out of his hideout. As she waited to hear him coming out she made several snow balls, wanting to be ready when he did come out looking for her.

Everything was quiet for a while and they seemed to be playing a waiting game. He knew he could wait longer since he was under the snow and it was much warmer. As he waited for her he carefully and gradually expanded his tunnel by making more snowballs and piling them up. He created a fairly large pile. The tunnel was nice and wide at that point and he started to make it longer. After a while he decided to carefully go to the opening to peek out. He couldn't see her anywhere. He stood up fully and looked around, seeing no holes anywhere he figured she couldn't be doing what he was. Then he saw the tree. Just visible around one side he saw a bit of cloth and knew it was her. He started to quickly toss snowballs everywhere and a few at her tree, hitting it. Then he ducked back into his hole. He started to work on his tunnel, focusing on building it in her direction. He also made sure to strengthen it by making the walls and ceiling solid to avoid any collapse. He also kept it fairly small so it was guaranteed to stay under the snow.

When he finally emerged after she had disappeared she didn't bother to look around the tree. Roxy had been about ready to go inside when she heard snow balls snow balls hitting the tree, figuring since they had already started this game she was going to wait for him to come to her. Not only that she couldn't bring herself to unwrap her arms from around her body but she was feeling her hands and feet beginning to go numb, unable to really keep warm since she hadn't dug herself a hole like Tim had. After a few moments, though, she removed one arm from around herself and used it to begin to throw snowballs back at him, and while they were getting into the hole he had dug she was sure none of them were hitting him.

Tim saw the snowballs hitting the hole he had made. He went quicker with his digging. Eventually he hit the tree that she was hiding behind. He carefully dug around it half-way. Then he started to pull away the snow to reach her. He dug upward as well to avoid having her collapse down onto him. He soon felt a finger emerge into the flatter area she had made by sitting there for so long. He peeked through the hole and saw her. He smiled to himself. He wasn't sure if she had seen the snow moving around her. He slowly emerged from the snow right next to her. With a grin he wrapped his arms around her and kissed her cheek.

When Tim made it to the tree and dug half way around it Roxanne could seen the snow moving around her but dismissed it as nothing, thinking that maybe since there was so much of it that it was shifting under her weight more than snow usually would. As he made his way up to her through the snow, though, she moved her arm and wrapped it back around her body, struggling to keep herself warm. The next thing she knew she could see him emerging from the snow right beside her and when his arms wrapped around her and he kissed her cheek she smiled weakly at him. Roxanne was sure Tim could see how cold she was.

Tim quickly realised how cold his girlfriend was. Her cheek was nearly frozen when he kissed it. He pouted and held her tighter. He thought about going inside, but a glance at the distance they would need to cover made him think twice. She would get even colder before getting to the door. He was surprised she wasn't yet shivering a lot. He gently caressed her face as a tender gesture, but also to try warming it. Then he had an idea. "Come into my tunnel with me for a while. There is a part that is wide enough and high enough for us to lay together. It is like an igloo in there. It is actually fairly warm. We'll get you heated up and then we can make our way back inside, how does that sound? Then I can get the fire nice and hot again and we can make hot chocolate and do whatever it takes to get you back to a normal temperature." His eyes showed his concern for her. He shouldn't have waited so long to get active again. He should have made sure she was moving around a lot to keep warm, rather than just sitting there behind the tree.

As Tim's arms wrapped tighter around her Roxanne moved her head so that it rested on his shoulder and looked up at him, watching him as he looked out at the distance they would need to cover in order to just get to the front door. As his attention returned to her and he reached a hand up, beginning to caress it gently, her body was just beginning to shiver as she nuzzled her cheek into his hand. "What are we going to make love like Eskimos too?" She joked despite how low her body temperature was beginning to drop. "That does sound nice though." She said as she closed her eyes, her voice having an almost dream like tone to it. As he looked at her with concern she didn't see it, in fact it seemed almost as if she were about to begin dozing off.

The fact that she looked tired worried him even more. He frowned and felt even worse about bringing her outside in the first place. He wanted to ask her why she hadn't moved or said anything, but he didn't want to make her feel bad. He didn't respond to her joke. He simply focused on getting her somewhere warmer. He helped her down into the tunnel and followed her into the wider section. There they were able to lay on their sides. He got next to her and wrapped his arms around her again. He pulled her against him and did his best to get her warm. He kissed her lovingly and rubbed his hands over her to help her warm up with friction. He watched her for signs that she might actually be warming up.

As he helped her down into the tunnel he had made, moving down into it and crawling to the wider part he had spoken of earlier helped her to stay awake. As she made it to the wider part she laid on her side so that there was room for him to fit snugly beside her. When he got settled next to her Roxy moved her head to rest against Tim's chest as his arms wrapped around her once more. "Baby, I'll be alright." She said with a yawn as he pulled her close. When he kissed her, though she was nearly unresponsive and as he his hands rubbed against her it did help her warm up but it also made her realize how tired she was. As she closed her eyes she nuzzled into his chest. "Tim, baby, I'm sleepy." She said before yawning again.

Tim shook his head when she said she was sleepy. He couldn't let her fall asleep. He could hardly believe she had become that cold in such a short time. He kissed her a few more times and tried to get her to stay awake. A few seconds later he spoke again, sternly. "You need to stay awake. I don't know enough about hypothermia, but I don't think falling asleep is a good idea right now." His tone turned to pleading. "Please try to stay awake. You can sleep when we get inside and get you warm again. For now just focus on getting your temperature up." He decided to try something more. He pulled his hands away from her for a moment and unzipped a couple of layers. He then wrapped his arms around her again, this time also wrapping the clothing around her. It got her closer to his own body heat to help her even more. She was cold against his shirt, but he didn't care about that. He wasn't about to be responsible for her getting sick or hurt again. He had already caused her a lot of soreness. He didn't want to make her sick or get her frostbite as well. He couldn't handle being the reason for anything else bad happening.

Roxanne watched with a confused look in her tired gaze as he pulled his hands away from her and took off the first couple layers of clothing he had on. "Babe, what are you doing?" She asked as his arms wrapped around her once again, this time wrapping the coat and one thermal sweatshirts he had put one around her cold body. His attempts seemed to pay off rather quickly as she began to warm up and seemed more awake and alert. "What if you get cold, Tim?" She asked, moving her hands so they rested on his chest. As she awaited a reply she kissed him, it was her way of trying to calm him. "I'm awake my love. I just want us both to make it inside okay and we can cuddle by the fire place to warm up." She said before kissing him again.

When she started to respond he smiled. He was glad she was already warming up. He wasn't worried about getting cold. They would warm eachother. They also wouldn't be there too long, just long enough to make sure she didn't freeze while trying to get back inside. He relaxed there with her and kissed her over and over for a while until he was sure she was warm enough to go back out into the cold. He gave her one more passionate kiss and then pulled away enough to zip his layers back up. He then moved forward to the hole and stood up. He helped her get out of the tunnel and to stand there with him. Then it was time to set out toward the front door. He went with her to help her and to have support for himself. Together they were able to go much quicker than either of them could have gone alone.

As they laid there in the tunnel he had made and he kissed her repeatedly, Roxy smiled against his lips, kissing him back. "I'd say someone is awfully happy that his baby girl is okay." She said before returning his passionate kiss with one of her own. She then allowed him to take his coat and sweatshirt that he had taken off and wrapped her up in as an attempt to warm her, her eyes staying on him as he slipped them back on and zipped them up. Then as he moved forward to the opening that lead up to the surface Roxanne followed behind him, although she was finding it harder as she got closer to the opening and once Tim was out and on his feet she was thankful when he reached down and helped her out. Once to her feet she followed him, there to catch him if he lost his balance but he also helped her move much quicker than she would have alone because despite being warmer her hands and feet were still numb.

Tim finally reached the path he had made earlier and helped Roxanne onto it. He quickly got to the front door and opened it. The house was quite warm inside. When they were both past the door he closed it and then started to get rid of his damp layers. He had his shoes off in a moment and was quickly down to just his shirt and pants. He peeled off his socks because they were damp. When he was prepared he went to the fire and put more wood on it and got it really going again to make it even warmer. He turned and looked at his girlfriend with a smile. "Now what do you feel like doing to get warmer? We can go make some hot chocolate or any kind of hot drink you want." He walked over to her and took her hand. Leaning in he kissed her cheek softly.

As they made it inside and Tim closed the front door behind them Roxanne began to shed her layers just as he did, making it so she was down to just wearing her pants and shirt. "Would you like some help?" she asked as she sat on the couch, hugging herself with her numb hands. Roxy sighed, with her feet numb it hurt her to walk. As she waited for an answer. "We could always cuddle. That should help us warm up pretty quick and tea or hot chocolate is fine." She said, taking him walking over to her as that he didn't need any help. "How cold is my hand?" She asked, looking up at him with a smile as she felt his lips on his cheek. "I seriously can't feel my hands or feet, my love."

Tim was worried even more at her statement. He could hardly believe she had gotten that bad outside that she couldn't feel her extremities. He knew that at the moment she needed to get her hands and feet warm. He didn't waste a moment before picking her up and taking her right in front of the fire. He sat down with her in his lap and held her close. He kissed her cheek again. She really wasn't helping her case in his mind when it came to him thinking of her as a fragile girl. At that moment he was thinking he would need to keep a close eye on her and take care of her. Before doing anything else he looked at her hands and feet. Luckily it didn't look like she had frostbite. That was a relief. He spoke softly in her ear, trying to sound calm and comforting. "Keep them facing the fire and rub your hands together. Hopefully you will be able to feel them again soon." He kept her held close and watched her, wanting to be completely sure she was ok.

When Tim picked her up Roxanne let out a surprised yelp, not fighting him as he didn't waste a minute getting her directly in front of the fire. Roxy decided to just give in and allow him to fuss over her, able to tell that her comment had obviously worried him. As he sat down with her and her lap Roxanne leaned back so that her back rested against his chest as his arms wrapped around her, holding her close. As he spoke into her ear Roxy moaned softly, feeling his breath on her ear seeming to awaken her desires for him but she quickly nodded and began to rub her hands together. "I love you." She said softly, a sleepy tone to her voice.

Tim smiled at her words and kissed her again. She sounded tired though. He sighed. "Please don't fall asleep. I don'tknow enough about hypothermia, but I think that it is a bad thing to fall asleep. Try to stay awake. How would I explain this to your father if you were to fall asleep and not wake up? I don't think I could handle that happening either. You are everything to me. Come on, you want me to think you are a strong girl, then be strong now." He was on the verge of tears. He was scared about something bad happening to her. If it did happen he would blame himself. It all seemed so surreal at the moment, but it wouldn't take much to make it all very real.

When Tim leaned in and kissed her again, Roxy kissed him back before moving her head to rest on his shoulder, looking up at him with heavy, tired eyes as she did. "Baby, I am strong. You know I am." She said, her voice keeping it's tired almost dream like tone. "You're my everything too so if I start to fall asleep make sure I stay awake." She said, her body starting to shiver more violently and her speech seemed a little delayed but her hand nor her feet were turning blue yet, which was a good sign. "Tim, can you get me the blanket off the back of the couch?" She asked, thinking that might help to warm her.

Tim sighed again. She really seemed to be on the verge of falling asleep. He had no idea what to do. She was shivering and that made him think that it might already be too late. He had thought that getting her inside would help. Now he was at a complete loss. After kissing her cheek one more time he got up and grabbed the blanket. He returned to her and wrapped it around her. Then he sat behind her and did all he could to also transfer his own body heat to her. He wouldn't let go of her from that moment on until she had stopped shivering. He was also ready to keep her awake with any means necessary.

As he got up and retrieved the blanket for her she watched him. "Thank you." She said softly as he returned to her side and wrapped it around her. As he sat behind her Roxanne leaned back, laying her head on his shoulder and allowed her eyes to close, though she wasn't beginning to fall asleep just yet. "Babe... I'm so tired." She said, though she was fighting to stay awake from him. Despite her low body temperature, though, she seemed to be warming up a little. "Timmy.." She began, calling him the name she used to when they were little. "I promise you aren't going to lose me."
