First Day of College, First Day of Freedom, I Think (CLOSED)

RE: First Day of College, First Day of Freedom, I Think

Cassius sniffled, trying to wipe his tears away before more could come, but he was failing at that too, trembling as he looked at the other. "but i'm still broken." he whispered, sounding horrified. "he still broke me." and with that he leaned over and buried his face into the others chest, breaking into sobs, seeking comfort from the only friend he had, gripping the others shirt tightly. "he's broken me...and now no one will ever..." no one, would ever want him again... he just couldn't say it, because part of him, was terrified that it was true.

RE: First Day of College, First Day of Freedom, I Think

Oliver held the other to his chest and looked away from him, not wanting to see him so hurt. "That's ok. You can be broken, I'll just take my sewing kit and fix you up over and over, so much that no one will be able to break you again." he said and held the other tight and close to his body. "How do that sound, hmm?" he asked and ran his fingers through Cassius's hair gently, ready to stop at any time just in case.

RE: First Day of College, First Day of Freedom, I Think

Cassius chuckled through his tears and nodded. "ye..yes..i..i think i would like that." he admitted calming down a little as a nurse finally came in with a glass of juice and a glass of milk, offering them both to Cassius, who drained both glasses much to the nurses surprise. "my, you where thirstier than i though." she admitted smiling at him. "i'll go and get a pitcher of water." she decided, leaving quickly so that Cassius could wipe his tears. "thank you Oliver...you... i mean... i really..am grateful... that i met you." he admitted smiling at the other. "i'll have to take you, to a really fancy restaurant, to show you...just how much this means to me."

RE: First Day of College, First Day of Freedom, I Think

Oliver nodded to the nurse and then looked at Cassius smiling back, shaking his head "Cassius...I'm only going to say no once, since you are in the hospital. But. No, you don't have to do that." he chuckled "This is what friends do for each other. Just be my friend, and I'll let that show me how much whatever I'm doing means to you." he said and squeezed the other's hand, gently. "I don't need fancy things like that to prove it too me, ok?"

RE: First Day of College, First Day of Freedom, I Think

Cassius frowned a little. "but i...don't know how." he complained softly, pouting at Oliver. "i don't know how to be a friend. i haven't had one in years, not one that i didn't have to buy... how am i supposed to show friendship if not by buying you things?" he complained before sighing a little. "will you teach me?" he asked hopefully. "show me, i mean? how to be..." he paused, searching for the word. "how to be affectionate?" he sighed a little. "i understand Sex, and..i understand money but other than that i'm completely clueless."

RE: First Day of College, First Day of Freedom, I Think

Oliver chuckled "You'll figure it out. But I'll help you I suppose, if you really need it." he said and almost froze when the other said affectionate. He nodded slowly "Yeah...I can...I guess." he said and looked down at his lap, he glanced at the door hoping Cassius's sister would show up soon, that way he could put all of his attention into the plush rather than the words that were coming out of the other's mouth. Mainly so he would stop over thinking everything.

RE: First Day of College, First Day of Freedom, I Think

Cassius smiled a little at Oliver and nodded, sighing as he snuggled into the bed and closed his eyes. "sorry...tired." he admitted softly snuggling into the pillows. "will you stay? while i sleep?" he asked hopefully, gripping the others hand tightly. "please?" he asked softly, but he was asleep before Oliver could answer, resting almost peacefully, despite what had happened to him. ten minutes later Sylvana came in with several bags worth of stuff. "hi! sorry that took so long!" she breathed. "i thought Cassius could use some flowers! flowers make people feel better right!?" she demanded dropping one of the bags into Oliver's lap, a freshly laundered Dragon poking it's head out, though Oliver had been right, the Stains hadn't come out. "i couldn't find the exact fabric." she admitted, looking a little upset. "so..i got the closest to it." she admitted shaking her head as she pulled out a potted plant of some strangely smelling Flower and positioned it close to Cassius before grabbing another bag and pulling out a small cactus 'garden', shaking her head a little. "i think maybe i shouldn't have gotten the cacti, it's too much? do you think it's too much?" poor Sylvana, she wanted to offer her brother the best comfort she could, but she just didn't know how. it seamed both siblings where a little lacking on the...affectionate, scale.

RE: First Day of College, First Day of Freedom, I Think

Oliver opened his mouth the answer and shook his head when he saw that Cassius was asleep. He glanced over to Sylvana when she came in through the door and opened the bag, looking at the dragon before slowly pulling it apart to replace it with the new material. He worked silently and only nodded from time to time when Sylvana asked her questions. He looked to find the little patch that had said who it was from and prayed that it wasn't too harmed that he couldn't salvage it. He set piece aside and then started to reconstruct the dragon piece by piece.

RE: First Day of College, First Day of Freedom, I Think

she sighed a little and sat down to watch him, her head tilted a little. "you know... i'm amazed that he lets you touch that thing." she admitted. "he's never even let me or mother touch it." she admitted shaking her head. "even asleep he's always known when someone was messing with Blaze." she chuckled a little. "it's rather astonishing really." she admitted. "your very talented... did someone teach you? a grandmother or something?" she was curious about this Oliver person, who Cassius was so...affectionate with. "do you have to replace all of it?" the wings, tail and head where fine actually, but everything else was terribly stained. Oliver had a lot of work ahead of him.

RE: First Day of College, First Day of Freedom, I Think

Oliver glanced up and smiled "I think it's because I can fix the poor thing." he mumbled and shook his head "No, just the body..." he glanced over at the stained patch. "and the patch" he frowned "No one taught me, I taught myself, from books and things like that." he his eyes back on the work he was doing. "It really isn't all that hard, once you learn to crochet everything else comes rather easy, thought crocheting isn't that hard either." he said, working the fabric together with the rest of the dragon.

RE: First Day of College, First Day of Freedom, I Think

she looked amazed though. "really? you can crochet too?" she asked, sounding impressed. "that's amazing!" she smiled a little. "i can't do any of that, though not for lack of trying." she admitted holding her hand out, small paper thin scars ran across her fingers. "i accidentally crushed my hand when i was little. i'm lucky to be able to hold a book with this hand." she admitted with a giggle. "but, i've never met a man who could do all these things, it's very impressive." she chuckled again. "aaah if only you weren't gay, i'd snatch you up for myself." she teased winking at him, Cassius shifting on the bed with a small grown, making Sylvana giggle again. "i think he heard me. he's rather possessive over something he likes." she admitted smiling little. "like Blaze...and you." she sighed a little. "they caught Max.' she admitted. "he confessed to everything..."

RE: First Day of College, First Day of Freedom, I Think

Oliver chuckled "When you have a little sister begging you to make her teddy bears, you learn quickly." he said and checked his work so far, before nodding and continuing. "The rest of it I just picked up as I went." he said and chuckled "It's a wonder my parents don't know." he said and looked over to Cassius, eying him before settling down and going back to his work. "Good. I doubt Max was going to stop with just him. He ruined the hell out of the plush" he shivered slightly "I suppose he was going to attempt to ruin something else Cassius...is possessive about." he said, using Sylvana's words.

RE: First Day of College, First Day of Freedom, I Think

she nodded a little. "he was going to go after you too." she admitted. "admitted it right in front of me." she admitted shaking her head. "he was going to video tape it...and use the tape to break Cassius even more... but they can't get him to explain WHY he went to such lengths." she admitted. "something stinks...and i don't like it... i'm worried that someone is targeting Cassius for something...probably to get to me, or our parents..." she admitted softly, swallowing thickly. "or if it's just Cassius himself..." she glanced at him. "how much self defense do you know Oliver? if i where to tell you i knew a guy, who would give you some free lessons, would you take them?..i'm worried that someone might go after you or Cassius again...it would make me feel better if at least one of you practiced self defense."

RE: First Day of College, First Day of Freedom, I Think

Oliver nodded. "I can run, and I will run." he said and continued. "I don't want to fight. I don't want to know how." he mumbled. "Plus, I'm good at slight of hand anyway, I'll manage my way around if I get into trouble." he said and set the dragon down, thinking about how to go about the patch. "Should I attempt to replicate it?" he asked and glanced at the patch. "Or should I just leave it off, keep it separate and then put it back on if he wants me too?" he asked, more to himself but he was up for suggestions.

RE: First Day of College, First Day of Freedom, I Think

she hesitated and then. "just put it back on the way it is." she ordered softly. "he might get upset if it's not put back on...he won't want a replica." she admitted shaking her head. "it's dirty and stained, but he won't care, so long as it's there." she promised smiling at him. "thank you for taking care of my brother." she stated calmly sighing a little. "but, you know you can't run away from everything, it's just not possible...even you, will have to fight someday." she admitted ruffling his hair. "we can't be children forever... and, when the time does come to fight, and Cassius is there, will you run away and abandon him, or will you stay and protect him?" she asked, watching him with calm, yet serious eyes, stern, worried, and loving all at the same time.

RE: First Day of College, First Day of Freedom, I Think

Oliver nodded and started to sew the patch back on. He looked up and shook his head "I never said I would abandon him, now did I?" he asked, almost challenging her to say otherwise. He finished the patch and sat it next to Cassius and stood up moving over to her. "Just because I choose to run and not fight, doesn't mean that I will leave him. I care for him, alright? Have you not figured that out, with all your silly questions and accusations? Hmm? Sometimes you can choose both, to run and to protect. Then again, you seem to not know this, considering you can't figure out how to comfort someone without paying for pointless shit." he said, almost glaring at the woman. He felt bad only a few seconds later for saying it but he was fed up with a person telling him how to protect someone, when they didn't seem to know how to do it themselves.

RE: First Day of College, First Day of Freedom, I Think

she stared at her brother for a long moment and then. "we're different...from you." she explained softly. "we are...almost a completely different people from you...so we don't...know how to do things..." she admitted softly, sounding as if she was about to cry. "all we know..is money, not friendship like you...all we know is money and heartbreak...and money, for us...is just a curse..." she admitted softly, repeating almost the same thing that Cassius had said back at the buffet. "there is no point...in me being here...because there is nothing i can actually do to help but i stay anyway, because he is my brother...and i love him...because i have no one else to love..." she sighed a little and stared down at her hands. "i say...mean things to you, because i am terrified that your going to leave him with yet another broken heart... he trusts so much more easily than i do..."

RE: First Day of College, First Day of Freedom, I Think

Oliver rolled his eyes "Don't you people get it! God! That right there! What you are feeling right now! That is caring, that is what the hell you guys seem to think you don't have! You don't have to be here, but you are here. I don't have to be here, I could just not give a shit about him, or you, or anyone. But I stay, because I care about him. That is what it is all about, not about gifts and money and shit like that. Money isn't a curse, you make it a curse. You mention how you have money, you show it off, you are the ones that make it so hard on yourselves. Yes, some of it there was no way of changing, and no one is getting on you for that, but look at all the bad things that have happened to you, it wasn't because of money." he said and pointed to Cassius "He was kidnapped, it wasn't because he had money, it was because his parents did, it could have happened to anyone. He wasn't raped because of money, Max is a psycho." He said as he started to pace the room "You wonder so much why people leave, it's because you guys throw yourselves pity parties! Grow up!" he said and threw his arms in the air. "I can see it in him, he doesn't want to be pitiful, and if he stops relying on the so called curse of money, he'll be fine. And so will you." He finally sat down, finished with his rant and crossed his arms, looking at Cassius, hoping he didn't wake him.

RE: First Day of College, First Day of Freedom, I Think

Sylvana was staring at him, wide eyed, and unfortunately for Oliver so was Cassius, both of them looking shocked and amazed as they stared at him, blinking a little. "Oliver...are you ok?" Cassius asked, his voice barley a whisper, as if he was afraid of gettign ranted at as well, both the Delruth children acting as if he was a rabid monster about to eat them. they had clearly never been yelled at before, not like that anyway, they weren't sure how to handle it. "i never thought of things that way." Sylvana suddenly admitted, swallowing hard. "me either." Cassius admitted blinking a little. "i'm going to go back to sleep now before you murder my sister." Cassius decided, Sylvana laughing a little with tears in her eyes, nodding a little as she wiped her eyes. "no one's ever yelled at me before. it's very shocking." she admitted smiling at Oliver, Cassius frowning a little as he pondered his life situation and then. "are you sure Max is a psycho?" he asked curiously. "he doesn't seem all THAT insane to me." "...Cassius.... shut up." Sylvana ordered with a small chuckle.

RE: First Day of College, First Day of Freedom, I Think

Oliver almost winced when he saw Cassius was awake. He didn't want to wake Cassius, but he was also glad Cassius had heard him, that way he wouldn't have to rant twice. He sat back in his chair and shook his head "Good! You need to be yelled at once in a while." he mumbled and shot a glare over at Cassius, daring him to force Oliver into another rant about how Max was a psycho. He was ready for that rant and it would last weeks, even though he only knew Max for a few hours.

RE: First Day of College, First Day of Freedom, I Think

Cassius blinked a little and then. "well think about it." he ordered. "if i'm broken..." he paused and then shook his head. "ok, yeah your right he's a psycho." he decided sighing a little. "have the police caught him yet?" he asked Oliver Sylvana nodding. "yes, he's confessed to everything." she admitted. "but we haven't gotten a reason why." "i know why." he stated calmly. "he was pissed that i topped his scrawny little ass." he growled, scowling a little. "he said so, that and he wanted to take me hostage to ransom my family for money..." he paused and then. "he also said something about toppling an empire but i was sort of not all that conscious then..."

RE: First Day of College, First Day of Freedom, I Think

Oliver shook his head "Stupid man." he mumbled, talking about Max. "And you were thinking that he wasn't psycho?" he asked and shook his head again "He wants to topple an empire? And you seriously were considering that he wasn't insane?" he sighed "The police will probably be in to take your report soon." he said and grabbed the dragon "In anyway, your sister managed to get this for you, I did some patch work on him, so sorry about it not being the same fabric, but at least he's in a lot better of condition."

RE: First Day of College, First Day of Freedom, I Think

Cassius blinked looking startled before accepting the dragon, smiling as he stroked it's head. "no, this is fine thank you." he muttered, hugging it tightly. "Max said he was going to shove it through a wood chipper." he admitted shaking his head. "i doubt even you could have fixed it after something like that." he admitted looking startled. "you even put the patch back on." he stated obviously very pleased. "thank you Oliver!" he paused looking hesitant. "how do people usually show thanks?" "hugging works." a lady cop stated walking into the room "..i can do that!" Cassius chirped happily as he pulled Oliver into a tight hug, Sylvana laughing a little.

RE: First Day of College, First Day of Freedom, I Think

Oliver smiled at Cassius "It's nothing, if he had, I would have just made you a new one, if you wanted." he was about to say that the other didn't need to say thank you other than saying thank you, but was then pulled into a tight hug and chuckled a little, trying to will the blush that formed on his cheeks away.

RE: First Day of College, First Day of Freedom, I Think

the lady cop chuckled a little and smiled warmly at Cassius. "i'm Officer Laurent. i'm here to ask you a few questions about what happened. would you like your freinds to stay here or leave the room?" "i should leave." Sylvana decided. "he won't want to say anything in front of his big sister." Cassius looked relieved that his sister was leaving. "i'll pick you up some cheesecake hmm? i know you love cheesecake." "cheesecake!?" Cassius asked, perking up like a dog at the word 'treat' Sylvana laughing as she skipped out of the room, Cassius gripping Oliver's hand tightly. "will you stay?"
