Bob and Maxine had split up and gone in different directions in search of Liz. As Bob walked down the street and scanned the crowds of people that were out and about, her familiar face caught his eye through the window of the bookstore across the street. He hurried across the street and stood out side the window watching her browsing the shelves. She seemed at peace and more normal than he had seen her in a long time. He watched her , letting her enjoy her time out. He called Maxine and told her that he ha found Liz and that she was alright, and that they would meet her her at their hotel in about an hour, and he was going to take Liz for a walk in the park before returning. He called the hospital and told them Liz was safe and they could call off their search. He asked the relieved nurse to sign Liz out to him for the afternoon, and being grateful, she did.
Bob went in the bookstore and stationed himself at the end of the aisle where Liz was browsing, and watched as she slowly approached him, waiting to see if she would recognize him, and if she did what she would remember, before he made her aware of his presence. He stood there pretending to look at books and they bumped shoulders. Bob looked up and smiled at her.
