Kurai was more than shocked when she heard what he was saying. She looked to him as if he had grown his own set of ears and tail. "What?!" she said a little more than uneasy with what she was hearing. "A house? Are you sure? I mean I thought you wanted the better weapons" she asked him as she had only noticed him looking at the weapons store she just put two and two together. "I mean yeah I would like that but you wouldn't be happy with settling down." she said as she shook her head. "Forget it. Go get better gauntlets you need them more" she said as she pushed herself up and started to get dressed. She was so confused by the way he was acting and the pound of her own heart.
 
Nathan shook his head. "No. I'll be fine with settling down because we'll still be in business. Only...we just don't have to pay daily fees for the room we sleep in. Come on Kurai...I'm serious about this. I don't want better weapons, I want to buy us a house to live in." He was going to urge this matter until she'd give in...He knew how she so wanted an actual place to stay in to call her own...and he was damn sure going to give it to her...He wanted her to be happy for two years of hell that followed the year they got to knew each other. He was still beating himself up that him treating her like a fuck doll caused her injury, he felt it to be entirely his fault.
 
Kurai looked to him as she heard what he said she really wasn't sure what to think. "Alright then I guess it wouldn't hurt to look at it" she said as she wasn't sure why he was suddenly so pushy about it. Giving a sigh she moved to lay down a little again. "Well when should we go back?" she asked figuring he would like to make the decision on that since it seemed it was his money he wished to spend.
 
"When you're able to get up and move. Thats when we'll leave." He said smiling as he held his hands on her shoulders gently and laid her back down in the bed. "So get some sleep and rest...you're still too weak to get up. Just lay down for another day and you'll be feeling good and new in the morning...Count on it."
 
Nodding her head she just gave a sigh. "Yeah I figured" she whispered under her breathe. She was rather bored she wasn't use to being this hurt hell this was only the second time she had really gotten this bad though she was sure he didn't know just how bad she was, well she hoped he didn't really know how bad it was.

Nathan smiled gently to her and began to stroke the banes out of her face as she lay down. "Good night Kurai..." He whispered to her before he laid his head down on the bed, him still sitting in the chair. He would give her all of the bed except for the one spot his arms and head weren't already occupying. Tomorrow...He'd buy her the house of her dreams and then get business started again.

By the time it was morning she got herself together enough to go out. She made sure to have him still sleeping as she slipped out to the woods. She knew he was still sleeping and the sun just about to come up over the mountains she knew she didn't have much time left. Picking a few herbs she knew that would kill the pain for her as well as hide just how much pain she was in from him made her happier. "Alright now I'm ready" she said to herself as she finished applying the herbs to her wound before wrapping it up again. It was a very effictive herb as the pain started to melt away making her even feel as though she wasn't still hurt.
 
(Its fine. I don't have long on, about twenty minutes but I'll be on here until then, unless internet cuts out.)

Nathan nodded and set out with her to head back to town. He kept a careful watch for her...sticking close to her...The walk was awkward once they passed the city next to the one they were just in. It was quiet...and Nathan didn't know how to help bring the mood up...Her words kept echoing in his head. 'I love you' over and over rang through his head, her voice being the one who had said it...it eventually caused him to bring up arm around her waist and hold her gently as they walked...though he never looked at her until she'd talk to him.
 
Kurai was a little shocked when he placed his hand on her waist pulling her in. "Thank you" she said as she felt better with him doing that. She knew this town was still upset with them, while she was sure in a few weeks it would be back to normal just hating her alone she didn't mind that as much. "Lets just get back to work" she said to him as she laid her head down on his shoulders her tail swaying slightly behind her as her ears were flat against her head any anthro would see her love with just the way she was around him giving him the alpha position.
 
When she leaned against him while he held her, he smiled gently and continued to walk with her in his arm by his side. Eventually they would see the walls that surrounded the gate of their city and he smiled as he looked to her. "Before...Before we go on any further Kurai..." He frowned as he turned to her and looked her in the eyes. "Did you mean it...? Did you mean what you said in the alley?" He was referring to when she told him that she loved him...though he didn't know that she didn't remember that.
 
Kurai looked up to him as she heard the question only as she struggled to remember what he was talking about did her eyes go wide. "You . . . you heard that!" she said in shock as she had thought she had only said it inside her head not aloud. She had sworn never to tell him. "I didn't mean to . . . I wasn't suppose to tell" she said as she shook her head her ears flat against her head and tail firmly tucked between her legs.
 
Nathan frowned when he saw her denial of having told him, and he knew he wanted her to be happy, no matter what. "Hey hey...its alright Kurai. You were just lying to me so that I felt that you didn't hate me when you died...right?" He said, trying to give her an excuse to keep it hidden, even though the small pain of her rejecting it now would hurt so much.
 
As she heard what he said she looked up to him seeing the pain she gave a whimper and a soft whine as she shook her head again. "No . . . I just I didn't think you would ever want the love of a wolf" she said as she turned away, she didn't want him to see her tears. "You could have any woman's love" she said to him as she moved her hand to rub the back of her neck like she usually did. "I really thought you would be better off not knowing that . . . that I loved you" she said to him with another deep sigh. In truth no matter what he did or if she wanted to she couldn't seem to fall out of love with him.
 
"What made you think I wouldn't fall in love with a wolf? Kurai...I befriended you, unlike so many people in the world who only think of you as a mutated monster like the rest of your kind. But unlike them, I can see who you are, and you aren't a monster." He moved over to her and hugged her from behind. "You're a beautiful young lady who's just looking for someone to be cared for by someone...and I haven't been showing it as of the past two years because all I've been doing to you is sex sex sex...When did things change between us to make it like that...? We were happy for a whole year...and then...poof...we started to create a life of smut between each other."
 
Kurai listened to what he said as she was actually thinking back on the first year they were friends. It had been the happiest time of her life yet as he turned to just wanting sex she thought she could make him happy. "I thought that was what you wanted" she said as she looked down. "You stopped asking about me after fights and just took me straight to a hotel and fucked me. It was never about anything else. I thought if I just kept doing what you wanted you would be happy and return to who you were but . . . you never did then you started to use me against others, and not just the last night that was just the worst of it. You kept leaving me open in fights and it started to get harder being your partner." she stated as she shook her head. "I thought you were doing that because you didn't care what happened to me. You were bored of me and just wanted me to quit so you could be paired up with someone else" she said to him as tears started to roll down her face.
 
Nathan frowned and shook his head. "No...Thats not the reason...I didn't want you to just quit...I don't know why...I just suddenly started using you for sex after seeing how easy you would put out for me...I think thats what changed me...Just seeing how easy you were, how easy it was to use you...And then...I started to use how easy you were for our jobs...I can't believe I did all of that...I had no idea what kind of pain you were in...You always seemed so willing and happy, as if you were in it just as much as I was...I'm so sorry Kurai...I just don't know one thing...Is why Darian hasn't said anything. He's been with us since we met, hell he was my partner when we rescued you the day we met...I don't know why he didn't tell us that we had changed..."
 
Kurai shook her head, "Darian was the one who told me a while back to stop. but I just couldn't disappoint you. If it wasn't for him I wouldn't have even known what you had done. He came and told me how you left the gauntlets and left without them. I wouldn't have known without him." she said as she knew that Darian had told her that she was going about it the wrong way.
 
"He...told you to stop?" He said as he turned her slowly to look her in the eyes. "He...Do you mean...He told you to stop; to stop giving in so easily to me...? Or do you perhaps mean that as something else...?" He was wondering if Darian was actually trying to help her from afar, even though now that she came into the picture, Nathan hardly saw his ex partner again except for some missions. Darian was always strange like that, so Nathan easily accepted Darian's parting and joining.
 
Kurai nodded her head. "Yes he told me if I just cut you off maybe . . . you would see me a something more but . . . even when I finally did you just up and left just like I thought" she said as tears kept going down her face. She couldn't believe he was really listening to her. He hadn't done that since the nightmares finally left her.
 
Nathan frowned and held her close to him in a large hug. "I'm so sorry Kurai...I didn't mean to hurt you...Please...Forgive me...You're the closest friend I've got in this world, and I wouldn't want to just throw you away like a used up sex doll...I'm sorry...Please forgive me...if at least don't blame yourself for why I've acted like this..."
 
Feeling him hug her and the words hit her heart she really couldn't believe the way it was for her. "I didn't . . . think you would leave me" she said to him tears still streaming down her face. Though as he kept the hug going she started to feel the pain again as she whimpered hating herself for being so weak at such a moment.
 
"I'm sorry..." He whispered to her. "I...knew I had to get away from you once I finally saw the horrible things I've been doing to you. The first chance I had, was what I had to take...and you wanting to split up was a clear chance for me to just get away and let you live a new life..."
 
Kurai shook her head to him as she hadn't want that. "I never wanted you gone. I just . . . I couldn't play dolly anymore" she said to him as she looked away. She felt so ashamed of how she had let him down. "I'm sorry I just couldn't seem to tell you anything right." she said to him as she wasn't sure what she should do next.
 
"Well...What are you going to do now...?" He said softly to her, his hand in his pocket, clutching a small wallet holding all the money they'd need for the house...He would still give it to her...to let her live alone if she still didn't want him. He would do whatever she wanted...whether she wanted him to stay, or for him to leave her and separate for who knows how long.
 
Kurai looked to him as he turned to her for answer she tried to get herself together. "I want you still with me. I love you I could never live without you" she said to him as it was truth even while she walked back to her apartment everything she did until Davian came to her she felt so empty.
