A Prince's Descion

Akiriu wanted to protest, to try to get more sleep. But he saw the look in Lineka's eyes, and he put his clothes on quickly. He was worried however, about the situation. "What's wrong Lineka? Why are you packing?"

"... I told you that the people thought of you as a symbol of the revolution... your father has taken note of this." Lineka said steadily, strapping her sword to her body as she walked around the bed and waiting at his side until he was done dressing. "He's sent a small army, mercenaries more like, to come to the castle and, well... I'm sure you can put two and two together. We've got to leave now." She said softly, watching him with soft, steady eyes.

Fear was apparent from Lineka's words, but Akiriu held himself together, somewhat. "So be it." He said, looking back with calm collected eyes. "I know you had planned fir this, so I will follow you Lineka."

Lineka smiled softly. "The safehouse is prepared. It's still within the country, but it's in such a secluded area, that most rarely go near it. A village is close enough in case we need it." She said, opening the door. "They've already got our horses ready. Some of the others have prepared three other teams of decoys to lead the mercenaries off our track." She said, motioning for him to leave the room.

Akiriu nodded, kissing Lineka lightly as he passed by her. "Thank you so much Lineka." He said. "For everything. You are an amazing friend and lover."

Lineka blushed, and smiled softly. "You don't need to thank me, not until we're out of here. Come on." She murmured, grabbing his hand and dragging him quickly through the castle, hurrying to where the guards had to horses waiting. "Alright, we're out of here. Are you ready, Akiriu?" She murmured, waiting as they raised the back gate.

Akiriu hopped onto one of the horses. It was rather large, built for stamina and speed. He looked at Lineka with a confident grin, his composure firm. "I am ready Lineka." He said starting the horse.

Lineka nodded and signaled the horses to take off into the forest. IT was dark, and the path was confusing, but it seemed both horses an knight knew where they were all headed. Lineka didn't figure that they'd get there by dawn, but they should be able to get far enough away that the mercenaries would have no idea where they were or how to find them.

---Time Skip : D ----

Lineka yawned as the horses moved slowly through the thick, nearly overgrown path. It was a little difficult to get there, but that was on purpose. It'd be safer that way. She looked up and smiled as the small house, garden, and little meadow for the horses emerged through the trees. "Ta da.. our safehouse." She murmured to Akiriu, giving him a little smile.

Akiriu looked at the house with great interest. "It's amazing." He gasped. He looked like a kid at a candy store, the amazing scenery left him enthralled. "And this is only for us?" He hopped of the horse, walking up to the house. His fingers ran against the tiles, rough yet smooth all at once.

Lineka laughed softly, carefully pulling their things off the horses. "Yes. it is. There's not quite as much fancy as there is in the castle, but it's got enough for us to live here for as long as need be." She explained, setting the horses off to graze in the meadow while she put their saddles and equipment away. Lineka picked up their bags and headed into the house, putting them down near a table. "The bedrooms through there, you must be tired." She said softly, glancing at him with a worried expression.

He was tired, but didn't want to show weakness. His body however had other plans. At the thought of having a place to sleep. He smiled walking into one of the bedrooms. Taking off his shoes then his shirt, he hopped into bed.

Lineka smiled warmly as she watched Akiriu fade off to sleep. It made her happy to know that he could rest safely in that house, with no danger that someone would find him and hurt him. He would be okay... and she would watch over him, keep him safe. Lineka finished unpacking and putting their things away, and curled up against Akiriu, falling asleep with a content expression on her face.

---

Lineka yawned, waking up some time later. She smiled lightly at Akiriu before standing up and slipping out of the room. She walked into the nearby bathroom, where they had a large tub with a strange device that drew the water from the tub and sprinkled it over their heads. Lineka didn't know how it worked, nor did she care. She stripped down and stepped into the tub, sighing happily in the warm water.

Akiriu woke slowly, thinking he was back at the palace. Then he remembered his father tried to kill him. He crawled out of bed and grabbed some of his clothes to bathe in. He didn't realize until he was other bathroom that Lineka was in there, shutting the door as he walked back out.

Lineka jumped in surprise when she heard the door close behind her, and spun around, a small, worried expression on her face. She quickly finished her bath and threw on her clothes, heading into the other room and walking up to Akiriu, gently placing her hand on his shoulder. "Good morning, my prince. Are you okay?" She murmured softly.

Akiriu blushed slightly, glad he didn't catch Lineka nude. "I'm alight Lineka. I was going to prepare a bath, but you were already in there. I'll just make one for myself then." He smiled at her softly.

Lineka laughed softly and kissed his cheek. "You're a silly one, Akiriu. At any rate, I'll set to breakfast while you bathe. Is there anything you want in particular?" Lineka asked, walking to the small kitchen area and glancing over her shoulder at him.

"As long as you make it, anything is fine Lineka." Akiriu replied. He walked back into the bathroom, starting some water for himself. He smiled as he sank into the nice, warm water. As it ran over him, he thought about what their future had in store. So long as his dad was around, he would probably still be in hiding. But he wanted to badly help his people.

Lineka quietly set to cooking a simple breakfast porridge, something to give them plenty of energy for the day. Lineka sighed. They would only be able to have a few days of rest before they would have to start going over plans for this and that, collecting the reports of the rebel army that was forming. Lineka had, a while ago, made a deal with the rebel troops. They would hold off the full rebellion until either the prince took the throne (in which case, there would have been no rebellion) or the king chased the prince from he castle. The latter had happened, and so the rebellion was truly going to be put into place. Lineka, and Akiriu were the leaders of the Rebellion that involved the royal troops (which was, in all honesty, most of them), and a separate trio of leaders were leading the people who were rebellion. Two armies that would work closely together.

As Akiriu bathed, he realized how messed up his situation was. His father wanted him, his own son, dead. If not for Lineka, he may have been successful. Now that he was gone, he had no way of helping his people. As all the negative things struck him, he cried silently in the water, hoping he would not he heard.

Lineka stretched, smiling softly as she finished cooking, turning around and pulling out bowls and spoons for the two of them before slowly walking to the door. She raised her hand to knock on the door, and frowned softly, hearing a quiet sound. Lineka tilted her head and lightly leaned her ear against the door. She stepped away slowly, leaning against the wall. Was he... crying? She stared at the ground quietly for a few minutes before lightly tapping on the door. "Akiriu?"

He had continued to cry, letting the tears flow as hefelt so low. Akiriu heard footsteps but didn't move or slowdown, just tear up more because of Lineka's sacrifices. So hurt he was from the entire incident that when his name was called he started up again. "I'm not even worthy of my people." He said through his sobs.

Lineka frowned, opening the door and walking in, crouching near the tub. She reached out and brushed the back of her fingers against his face, wiping some of his tears off his face. "What makes you think of that, hm? If anything, your father failed, not you. In a few days someone will be bringing some of the reports on the army and you'll begin to lead your people to a better life." She said softly.

Her words were soothing, making Akiriu's tears cease. He wiped away his eyes, sniffling still. "If you say so, love." He said, putting a hand to her cheek.

(Argh, bloody writers block!)

Lineka smiled, placing her hand over his. "I do say so." She said, leaning forward and gently kissing him on the cheek. " Now, hurry out of the tub, your breakfast is getting cold, and once this stuff gets cold it becomes a blunt weapon...I suppose we could always spar with it. No, that's gross. Come then, out of the tub." She said sweetly, standing up and leaving the room.

He blushed slightly, stepping out of the tub and wrapping a towel around his waist. "Umm, could I have a moment?" He asked, waiting for her to walk out of the bathroom. He quickly put on some pants and a shirt, wiping away the rest of the tears on his face.
