A Prince's Descion

Lineka chuckled. His modesty was greatly endearing, especially if you factor in that she'd already seen him plenty naked. She walked to the breakfast table, popping a grape into her mouth as she stared out at the meadow beyond the window, the green grasses flowing gently in the breeze. It was strange how such peace existed in the face of the looming war.

Akiriu took another moment to relax and calm down, stepping out of the tub with a slow minor chill. Wrapping a towel around his waist, he dried off the lower part of his body first. He decided on simple pants, though even when he looked in the mirror, it was obvious who he was. All his training had left him with very few scars, otherwise his skin was practically smooth. He flexed a little, the remaining water starting to roll off his skin. With a smile, he dried off, grabbing a shirt and pulling it over his head as he walked into the kitchen.

Lineka was still gazing out the window when the prince came out of the bathroom, not noticing him for a couple minutes. Her mind was centered at first on battle plans and strategies, but then it wandered off, wondering where she would be if she wasn't a royal knight. It alarmed her, slightly, when she couldn't think of a single thing. She'd be out of place if she were anywhere but a military position. She blinked, blankly staring out at the meadow for a moment, before she finally realized Akiriu was there. "Ah.... Hello, Ready for breakfast?"

Akiriu smiled softly, giving a courteous nod. "I'd love some breakfast." He said with a slight grin. Even though he was forced from his home, he was going to make the best of things as they currently were. He grabbed some of the necessary ingredients so that he could help out. Just because he was royalty didn't mean he didn't have other skills, which he had proven before with the knife earlier.

Lineka smiled, relieved to be distracted from her thoughts. She was happy to have the prince there. If he wasn't there she'd have too much time to simply think. Making sure he was taken care of was a great alternative. "I've got the porridge done, if you'd like to make the eggs? We've got some bacon too, if you'd like me to make that." She said softly.

"Sure, I'll make the eggs and bacon." Akiriu replied with a smile. He could never deny an opportunity to help or impress Lineka. Starting off with the eggs, he made them just as the chef had taught him, both scrambled and sunny side up just to be safe. The other part of his attention was focused on the bacon, making sure it cooked just right.

Lineka smiled softly as the prince began to cook. She took to setting the table, carefully pulling out the dishes and arranging them on the table. She poured a little juice, looking over her shoulder and watching him cook for a moment. It was a shame that he couldn't have peace like this all the time. But she could make sure he had at least a little bit of rest, before the real trouble started.

Akiriu smiled to himself, just glad that he could be useful for right now. Even though it was a rather relaxing task in itself, it was one less thing for Lineka to have to handle. As the eggs and bacon had finished, he moved them over to two plates, ready to have them serves. "I'm finished. I'm ready for whatever else you want me to do."

"Now I just want you to sit down and eat." Lineka said brightly, lifting slightly on her toes and kissing his forehead. She blushed lightly, turning around and sitting down at the table, motioning for the chair next to her. She quietly turned her attention to eating breakfast. There was no reason for her to, go about being silly like that. It had been an automatic movement, but one that was probably best saved until after wars and danger.

Akiriu nodded, taking a seat reluctantly. He wanted to help more, but best to stay back and let things run its course. As he started to eat, his attention drifted off to his childhood memories, when he used to play with his commoner friends. As his eyes were closed a warm smile spread across his face.

Lineka quietly ate her breakfast, her mind centering on battle tactics and strategy. The best way to organize troops. How to distribute supplies. How to keep Akiriu safe but still have him in the action. She glanced over to him and smiled softly. He looked so calm and happy. Disrupting him with war tore Lineka apart. She would have to do whatever she could, whatever it took, to keep him sheltered from the darkest parts of the rebellion. He was meant to lead, he always was, but Lineka couldn't bear forcing him to wade through blood. She would do it, and come out the other side just fine.
