Laura watched Dea leave the room so he could talk privately on his cell, then gazed back at Maria's baby. "Would it be alright if I held him?" She asked her friend. Maria gently placed the small baby in Laura's arms, "Careful, his claws are sharp," Maria warned with a small. Laura noticed for the first time that his nails were more like claws.
"My parents still haven't come to see him," Maria said sadly, "It's been over a year and they still won't acknowledge us. But I wouldn't change a thing."
Laura felt both happy and sad for Maria, she knew how close her friend use to be to her parents, must hurt that they don't even want to visit to at least see their grandchild.
