Angel's and Demons

He looked around the floor-plan of his home, but only now realizing that it was too damn small. Before now he had never thought of anything but hiding himself, and it had worked all too well until today that was. First Michael showed up, and now this woman Aurora. Having her looking around at everything in his home he knew that he should have thought about the possibility of finding someone he could get close to.

Until this point he had never worried about anyone being impressed with his home, nor had he been worried about having anyone here that all changed now that he thought about it. Of course he would give her his bed to use because that's the way he was, yet he wondered if he should move into a bigger place or leave England all together and return to the home he had waiting for him. He was still worried that some how Aurora would give him away, maybe not intentionally yet he was just a bit paranoid when it came to his safety.

Hearing the radio start blaring DJ S3rl's "Bass Slut" Nanoki quickly looked up to see Aurora standing with her hands over her ears, smiling softly he pucked up the remote and turned off the music. Before returning the remote to the coffee table, and heading toward the kitchen to think of something for them to eat. Starting the food he turned to her with his head cocked slightly to the side. "Find anything interesting I should know about?" he asked jokingly.

Aurora shocked covered her face, the noise feeling the room was to much. How could anyone want to hear that, unless it was some new torture device. But then suddenly it all had stopped, Nanoki some how use the remote to stop it. She removed her hands hand from her ears and she followed him into the kitchen.

"what in the world was that horrible sound?" She asked him still in shock. "Yes I guess i have found everything interesting, this whole world is different than the one i left behind. I mean i don't understand any of it." She was so confused and confusion shown on her face. She looked rather pathetic. She had a few tears in her eyes. Here was a mighty angel, do damage with the wave of her hand but here she was crying and lost in this world.

Having been used to living alone, and having neighbors that didn't mind him playing music loudly up to a certain hour he forgot to turn the volume down from the party a few days ago. "That was music that had been left way too loud, and I apologize for that." he replied turning to work on the food.

After he had washed, and dried his hands he moved close to her and wiped the tears away lightly. "You may not understand any of it now, but if you stay long enough then you may. I have no clue as to how long you intend to stay here, nor do I care as long as my barriers hold." With that he dropped a quick kiss on her forehead as if she were a child, and went to change the sheets on the bed for her. "There is a war on as you know, but what you may not know is that y... The Angel's started it over nothing in particular that I know of."

There was no maliciousness to his statement, but he wanted her to know the other side of the story as well as her own. The only thing he could do now was try and teach her that his kind weren't all as ruthless as everyone always made them seem. The fact that he was considered a low life among his own kind didn't bother him, because he knew the truth and was proud of whom he was.

Aurora was comforted by his touch. Maybe there was hope that she would learn about this world. She followed him to the bed room."I want to learn all I can. And part of me believes my brother may have started this." She paused a moment "I hope u wouldn't mind teaching me all you know about this world and the war. I mean I can't believe that was music." She said with a giggle.

With a chuckle he started stripping the bed, slowly he shook his head for a moment before smiling lightly at her. "It was music, but only a certain group of people listen to it." With a shrug he changed the sheets, and pillow cases before turning back to her. "There's not a whole lot to learn really, yet what there is can be complicated to say the least." Hearing her giggle gave him a slight pause, because it was cute and was something he had never heard from an Angel before it was usually a war cry of some sort. "Where exactly would you like to start then Ak..." He stopped himself before revealing something that would have been painful, but when he got his hands on Gabriel's Sergent he would pay.

Aurora couldn't believe that was music but she still giggled."where ever you want to start, like maybe what are you doing." She moved a little closer to see what he was doing.

His eyebrow piqued, but then he remembered that she hadn't any idea of what he was doing. "I'm changing the sheets on the bed so you have a clean comfortable place to sleep when you decide to go to bed." he replied taking the dirty sheets in and dropping them in the laundry area. Then he went into the kitchen to finish making the food, yet he wondered silently to himself hoe much she actually remembered.

She just starred at the bed it had been so many years since she had seen a bed. In fact she had not slept since she died. Her ran over the soft sheets. Aurora couldn't wait to lay her head down. She then followed him back into the kitchen."thank you. I haven't had a need to sleep in so long." There was a real excitement in her eyes.

"Well you're no longer where you used to be, and even we need to sleep believe it or not. Well I figured it was better for you to use the bed instead of sleeping on the couch, but there's no need to thank me. Are you hungry?" he asked pulling the food out of oven and turning it off along with the stove.

"Well like it or not I am going to thank you, but if I am going to sleep in the bed were are you going to sleep? I hope you weren't planning to sleep on the couch." She the watched as he pulled the food out and her stomach growled "I guess I forgot what its like to be hungry."

"Some days are so busy that I forget to eat, but I do the best I can. You'll be sleeping in the bed and I'll be on the couch which is no problem." he answered. Carefully he brought out the plates, and silverware setting them on the small table. He moved the food over to serving plates and set them on the table as well. "Feel free to help yourself, and be careful the food is still hot."

"Is the couch comfortable? I don't want to displace you from your bed. I mean we could share, that bed is far to large for one person." She looked over the food the she put some on plate taking a bit."oh this is very good"

The thought had crossed his mind briefly that they possibly share the bed, but he though they should know one another better before that happened. "It would be possible for us to share the bed, but I think it would be proper if we knew each other better first." he said with a soft smile. "I'm glad you like it." he added taking some for himself.

Aurora sighed a little as he declined the offer to share a bed. She was not sure what would so improper about it, a side from the fact that maybe he still didn't trust her. "alright if your sure, but you know i won't bite" she teased him just a little smiling at him. For the first time in a long time she felt happy and free. She felt like she had something to smile and joke about. With every moment she spent on earth the more she didn't want to go back, ever.

Hearing her sigh his eyebrow piqued briefly, but when he heard her comment he laughed lightly "You may not bite, but I just might." Nanoki said with a grin playfully showing his fangs, yet he felt like it would be interesting to have her here even if she was an Angel. "There are some things that could possibly happen if we were to share a bed. I would not want that to happen, at least until we knew each other better, and you've learned more about the world." he said stretching. After he finished eating he took his dishes to the sink, and rinsed them hearing a knock at the door he went and opened it.

Aurora laughed at him. She was glad he could laugh and tease her, it meant that maybe there was hope after all that they could be more than just an Angel and a Demon. She wondered what he could have meant by things could happen. But she decided not to push it. She followed him into the kitchen doing as he did with the plate. She was startled by the knock at the door wondering who could it be, could it be her brothers coming after her? or maybe someone Nanoki knew

Sheila looked dumbfounded at the envelope for a moment before taking it, he had told her he would be giving her the tickets but she hadn't really believed it. Especially not when the tickets were some of the hardest to come by, yet here he was handing her the envelope that held the tickets. "How much do we owe you?" she had tried to ask but it seemed Nanoki wanted to hear nothing of payment. "We'll stop by Sunday afternoon and take you and your guest out to repay you."

Quietly he picked up the envelope with the tickets in it, and headed to the door. Looking out the peep hole he smiled seeing Sheila, and he unlocked the door opening it with the smile. Nanoki held the envelope out to her saying "I hope you both enjoy the game, especially since you'll be able to see all of it now." He had known Sheila and Tony since the first day he moved in because they had helped him, but he never really knew why until he started volunteering some of his free time to help others. "There's no need to think you need to repay me, the way I look at it is I owe you two for helping me when I got here."

Aurora watched from the kitchen as the door open and woman was standing on the other side. She watched the exchanged between the woman and Nanoki, It was friendly, and the woman seemed happy with whatever he was giving her. Just seeing Nanoki, for this one day showed her he had a good heart, and part of her knew other demons were good hearted too. Maybe the war really could end.

Sheila stood 5'9 and she weighed in at 120, or that's what Nanoki would have assumed. She had red hair cut about shoulder length, and she could have been considered cute by most however what most didn't realize was that her Irish temperament was clear if one knew her long enough. She was a ballet instructor, and she loved her job as well as her fiancée Tony. They were great people to know because they were kind, and extremely friendly. After a few moments of conversation as to when the wedding would be Sheila left, and he closed the door sighing to himself knowing it was almost time to get them a wedding gift. Turning from the door he saw Aurora watching, and he smiled some and said "Our neighbors, great people. I had gotten tickets to a sporting event, but with everything that happened I figured they would enjoy the game so I gave them the tickets."

Aurora smiled when he turned around. "i can tell, she gives off an aura of greatness and kindness. But she is a little scattered. Probably do to wedding jitters." Aurora could read mortals if she wanted to. It was going to be a useful trick if she was to survive down here on earth now.

Aurora cocked her head to the side and looked at Nanoki, "I am sorry i made you miss you game as you called it. I hope i can make it up to you." She realized just then what her presents in his world might cost him. She hoped he would not be upset with her.

"They are supposed to be getting married in a couple of months, and I'm happy for them. In the two years I've lived here they've been the best neighbors I've known in a long time." he replied. Moving back into the living room he sat down wondering what to get for Sheila and Tony, for their wedding gift. Then he realized he would have to look on line and see what he could get for them.

Hearing her words Nanoki shook his head, and shrugged slightly saying "No need to apologize, it wasn't just you coming into my life it was Michael... He knows I'm here which means there may be problems, and that means staying away from places that could get innocent people hurt in the process if he decides to attack." He briefly wondered what she had in mind to make it up to him, but he put it out of his mind not wanting to expect anything.

Aurora moved to sit on the couch next to him. She tucked her bare feet underneath her white dress and turned so she was looking at him leaning against the arm of the couch. "again i have caused problems for you. I am sorry that because i came here he saw you. But if it helps i rank higher on the food chain than him, so i can keep him at bay and you safe" She bit her lip a little. She didn't know if that would help any but she had to try.

He watched her, and when she sat on the couch turning to him Nanoki turned himself slightly. "You caused no problems, I was the one that was walking about, and happened to be where the two of you appeared. I'm not worried about Michael, I've bested him in combat a few times. Just as he has bested me a few times, however I worry about innocent people getting hurt." For a few moments he started off into space remembering the last time Michael had bested him, and he absently rubbed his stomach where he carried the scar from that meeting.

Aurora tucked some of her long raven hair behind her ears and smiled softly. "I won't let any mortal be hurt if he tries something foolish. I know his tricks and if he happens to pop up I will take the battle away from you and here so there is no worries." She then placed her hand on his giving it a gentle squeeze letting him know that it was ok.

Her voice brought him back to the present, and he smiled gently. "It really wouldn't be the first time he tried something stupid like that, the last time we fought he did bring an innocent into it and unfortunately for me... I took his blade in my stomach for it." he said letting her a into his past a little more. "I'm sure he thought me dead, especially with the look on his face when he saw me earlier. However if something does happen I don't want you in the way, and I don't want you hurt so I'll take him on again if it comes to it." Lightly he squeezed her hand in return.
