Attracting partners for an unpopular topic

I enjoy writing stories involving cuckolding. I have found though that it kind of freaks people out alot of the time. Many times it even makes them angry when I bring it up. Any thoughts, ideas or suggestions on how to make a thread that will express that I really wanna explore this topic? Any insight would be very helpful

Put the word cuckolding in the title of your RT and wait. This way, everyone who dislikes it skips your RT, and those who actually want it know whom to reach out to.

Other than Tassu's suggestion, a glance at your request doesn't really tell people much. There's no information about setting, plot or genre, no pairings, nothing about how much you write or what you look for in a partner. You've said you're flexible with kinks, listing only cuckolding. It may be a little off-putting because you've put so much emphasis on that one thing.

Its an older post I just bumped yesterday when I got back. I am gonna revamp it this weekend. I really do want a cuckold role so I am just looking for ways to find someone willing to explore that with me. I am flexible with the story and scene, I just want cuckolding to be a part of it. Does that make sense?

You might also want to clarify if you want to write a cuck or a bull (or both). And then if you want it to be consented to or not. But it's not something you can casually include.

let me just start off by saying that we do not tolerate kink shaming here, so if you actually have issues with that, please bring it to the staff's attention.

now, here's a few things to keep in mind:
  • everyone doesn't share the same kinks / preferences
  • assuming you're searching for female writing partners who play female characters, a lot of us don't like cheating of any kind, so i'd say this kink is somewhat niche. those of us who don't mind, only want to include it in certain settings and with certain pairings, etc, so having a good plot to go with the kink often helps (not limited to cuckolding, but every kink, really)
  • a lot of people don't like surprises, so unless you're very up-front about wanting this, people will feel 'betrayed' or taken off guard if you suddenly bring it up
i agree with what tassu said. adding cuckolding in the title will attract the people interested / willing to roleplay it. however, what amberyn said is also a very valid point. people don't want vague. the more specific your request thread is, the easier it is to attract the right writing partners.

if i were you, i'd try to come up with plots / pairings where cuckolding is the 'main theme' (if that's what you want), but the story was still solid.

In your request thread, say that cuckolding is a non-negotiable kink and that the story must include it. Bold it, so it can't be missed. Write out plot ideas that clearly involve cuckolding, and make it clear what you want from the female end of this. Do you want that female character to like it? Is it consensual? Does she dive in willingly, does she get coaxed into it? Etc.

Ok. I felt keeping it vague and open would actually draw more people in because by being specific ot might seem as being picky.

All questions that make sense. I guess I always keeping it more vague would be good because it would allow more room for the other player to write how the character reacts, feels etc

No no. This is actually not true. Wishy-washy RT's don't work. People don't want a partner who is fine with whatever. People want a partner who craves exactly the same thing as they do. People want to feel wanted, and being specific makes that happen. You might have to wait for the right partner for a while, but at least you'll know that you are on the same page.

Very good point Tassu. Good things are worth the wait as they say

a lot of people think that, but it actually does the opposite. why? because mot people know what kind of characters they want to play and what kind of stories they want to write. it's very hard for us to look at a request thread where the owner doesn't tell us what they're looking for. so, for example, i prefer to play bratty characters who are in over their heads against sadistic male characters. that is what i look for. so, every thread that doesn't have this, i just skip.

you - and many others - might be willing to play a sadistic character, but we're not gonna 'waste' our time trying to figure that out when we can go to the next request thread that says 'my characters tend to be sadistic assholes'. it saves us a lot of trouble, time and effort.

the same goes for what you're looking for. if you can play against several types of characters, it would still help a potential partner if you specified what you looked for. because like i said above, if it doesn't say 'i prefer to play against a strong, female character' or 'for this particular plot, i'd prefer if yc was a brat, so mc can tame her', most people are just gonna skip it if it doesn't apply for them.

sooo, be specific. that makes it easier for ALL parties involved. tell us exactly what you're looking for (in your RT), and you will attract the right partners eventually. don't be afraid to tell people what you want, but learn to accept a no.

Again this all makes sense. I guess by trying to please everyone or just find someone you please no one, especially yourself. Once I make the new request thread this weekend I will make it more detailed and specific.

And being told No is never an issue. Although, when that's all you get it gets tiring. You begin to think there's something youre doing wrong

it's always discouraging to get a no, but usually it's because you're not clear on what you want from the start.
so if cuckolding is what you want to focus on, make that clear, and create specific plots where this is the main focus in the story ~ like chai mentioned, make it obvious what kind of female character you want to play against (do you want her to like it? hate it?), which character you will be playing (the husband or the bull, and also their personality. will they be shy? brutal?) ~ all of this really helps people narrow down the search!! and that way, you'll only attract those interested in these things, and hopefully, there will be fewer no's.

Everyone here has given some fabulous advice. I know I've attempted to write this type before, and it can sometimes be the chemistry with the writer that can make or break an rp. Then again, it could be other factors also. Main thing that stuck out to me through all of this is being specific in your RT, (something I am learning to do, still working on it), but also patience in finding that writer one is compatible with.

You've got this, knockknock! With the help of rev, that thread will be a stunner 💙

There's actually a topic somewhere about what people dislike in an RT thread. It varies from person to person, but I found it helpful to add a mixture of vague ideas and very specific ones. I got a lot more interest after doing that.

I'll check it out. Thanks for the advice

+1 for putting the kink in the title. In general, be blunt about what you want; people will only click on threads that look interesting to them, and if they do click, they won't stay on the page for long unless there's something that catches their eye. Neither the title nor the first paragraph of your thread tells me anything about what you're looking for, let alone that you're looking for a relatively niche kink.

I hate using my own RTs as examples, but it's worth comparing your title and introduction to a similarly themed (long closed) request I put up years ago. Note how it's immediately clear what I'm looking for: I want an RP featuring this kink, and this flavour of that kink, and only then I get into other preferences. While that might be too "in your face" for some, there's a good chance they're not into that kink anyway -- no loss there. Those who are into it, however, will instantly know that I'm someone who shares their interest, and will have a reason to read on.

That said, while I won't say cuckolding is a particularly rare kink around here, it definitely suffers from the phenomenon where the malesub-demand is far far greater than the femdom-supply. While I think everyone's advice will already help a lot, it's also worth considering if you're interested in playing the female side of the dynamic -- if you are, I can guarantee your inbox will explode within a day.

Wow. That looks amazing. Thank you for sharing. I may use this as sort of a template when I revamp my RT in the coming days. If that is OK.

As of now I am not sure about playing the female part, more because I never have and it is kind of intimidating
