W&G: The Inquisitor's Speartip

Talshi took a few moments to get his bearings on the battlefield, watching events unfold while he puzzled about his next course of action. He was normally much more assured in his motions but this was an unusual case after all; his first time working for the Inquisitor and trying to figure out the ebb and flow of his would-be allies. Beyond that he had inadvertently sealed off his easiest access point forward by careless use of his flamer which further troubled his decision making process.

His eyes noted the others running along the far side of the courtyard and slipping past the first line of bunkers, and he watched the bunker at the far right get effectively emptied of threats by a hail of laser shots, so ultimately the danger was looking rather light at this point. Heading into the open was a risk for how deadly those boltguns could be but, with only one bunker left by his reckoning, he figured there was little point in continuing to hesitate.

Shaking his head a little, the Sslyth darted down the length of the trench and pulled himself up into the central killzone as he rushed forward towards the last remaining bunker to house hostiles. Despite the open terrain here, he was counting on speed and aggression to prevent him from suffering for it as he rushed towards the bunker as fast as his serpentine body could carry him. When he got close enough by his reckoning he angled his heavy flamer, loosing two more jets of liquid flame to hopefully end the lives of these pathetic humans in agonizing fashion.

Simple action to run for 16m movement. Assuming I counted correctly that should allow Talshi to end up aligned with the two columns of soldiers in the final bunker with only the razorwire between them.

Multi-attack against the two columns, targeting the final soldier of each one (or if I miscounted my movement then however deep I can get with 8m range).

Attack vs Left Column (+1 DN from wounded): [_6d6s4]=(4, 4, 1, 5, 5, 5)=5=5
5 icons vs Defense 3 I believe in this case should hit. No Exalted so no shifts.

Damage: 12+[_2d6s4]=(5, 2)=1=1
13 damage at AP -1.

--

Attack vs Right Column (+1 DN from wounded): [_6d6s4]=(5, 2, 1, 3, 4, 4)=3=3
3 icons vs Defense 3 should just barely hit.

Damage 12+[_2d6s4]=(4, 6)=2=2
15 damage at AP -1.

With a final scream of agony from within as the bunker was set ablaze, Talshi would be able to watch as the burning victims went from a panicked frenzy to utterly still. Silence slowly descends over the battlefield, the defenders either all dead or fled deeper into the palace complex. The courtyard was theirs, captured and secured for the time being. The Scions at this point would slowly pull out of the trenches and spread out, checking the insides of each bunker in turn to make sure there wasn't any surprises left for them.

Flagg at this point climbed out of the trench, haggard and wounded but still moving. She rejoined Anna and Khanzhar who lingered by the collapsed entrance of the desecrated temple and she'd glance over to Talshi to gesture that they should all regroup. "Five casualties on our side, close sixty on theirs. Not a bad start for cleansing this place of heretics."

Khanzhar took the time to look into the chapel at Anna's request and recoiled at the things inside."Foul entities of the god of plagues. Would that I had a fusion gun." She said with a growling hiss behind her helmet. They represented a very big problem, not just in their danger as a combatant but in the implication of their being there in the first place. "There may be some potent pox here waiting to be unleashed."

After savoring the screams from the bunker for a few moments the sounds unfortunately died off into little more than the flickering of the remaining promethium burning away. Since it seemed like the others were gathering by one of the buildings on the far side of the courtyard he turned and slithered that way to join them. "Our arrival will no doubt be explained by those that fled. Better to stay on the offense than to wait for an organized effort against usss." He wasn't exactly so certain about the layout of the palace anyway and was hoping one of the two human females would have an easier time guiding them to wherever was most likely to contain the lord.

When Flagg joined them, the sslyth's eyes flicked over to see the sorry state she was in. Still alive and kicking no doubt but with plenty of blood spilled upon her armor thanks to the large hole punched by a round she received. "You look like one that has survived my affectionsss. Are you still capable enough to continue?" He was injured too of course but to a much lesser extent.
