『Kodoku no Saibou』(1×1 w/ Jikkah)

Her eyes widened at his words. “Break your contract- Sasuke, what are you thinking?” She asked, brows furrowed. “You can’t just run off!”

"You would be the only one who'd notice..." He replied, "Dana doesn't need me anyway, I'm only here cuz she saved my sorry hide from getting turned into a coat."

“Sasuke, don’t speak like that, it isn’t true.” Amaya said firmly, frowning. “How can you even think that way? Without you we would be down a powerful magic user- but that isn’t all we’d lose. Sasuke you’re part of this home too.”

“Sasuke, what are you trying to prove? Is it that you want to leave, but want us to chase you away to spare you from the guilt?” She scowled, arguing back.

"I don't want to leave! I want to be shown that I mean something to Akihime! That I'm not just here as some creature she took pity on!" His voice rose, despite his efforts to keep it level.

Amaya fell silent, face falling into a gentle expression showing guilt and understanding. “I.. Can’t give that to you.”

He glared at the floor, "I guess that's all I am, then...just some pet to be garnered with affection until I do something of note..."
"Sasuke..." He froze before looking at his door, Akihime having cracked the door just enough to peer inside, "I didn't know I had made you feel this way..." She pushed the door open, looking ashamed, "why didn't you tell me?"
"Because I didn't feel like it mattered. I'm just some fox." He replied. She frowned and stepped into the room, regarding Amaya with a gentle pat on the head before stopping beside Sasuke.
"You aren't just some fox. You're my companion. I care for you, I always have. Forgive me for neglecting you.." She said. He flushed, ashamed she had heard his childish fit.
"Of course I do, dana..." He muttered. She took his hand gently and kissed his knuckles before pulling to kiss his temple and forehead. His face lit up even more and he looked up at her in surprise.
"Dana..?"
"I'm sorry I have made you to believe I don't love you...I have always loved you...as I love Amaya...and Yukimura...you three mean everything to me..." She told him. His vision blurred a bit and he gripped her hand tight before doubling over to lay his forehead in her lap.
"I'm sorry, dana...! I'm sorry...!"
"Hush," she ran her fingers slowly through his hair, "you didn't do anything.."

Amaya silently accepted the sign of affection from Akihime, watching silently for a moment longer before turning her head away so as to give a bit of privacy. When Sasuke laid in Akihime’s lap she knew it would be best to leave them. She bowed quietly and left the room, closing the door and heading back to where Yukimura and Kojurou were, not wanting to intrude upon the intimate moment.

“Ah, she’s addressing it now, it was simply a miscommunication between Lady Akihime and Sasuke.” She explained. “Please forgive our lack of decorum before guests.”
“I really hope I didn’t cause this..” Yukimura muttered, feeling guilty.
“Not at all. This is purely between Lady Akihime and Sasuke.” She said once again.

"I knew already how moody Sasuke could be, I just didn't expect to this extent. I'm not offended, I promise. I was merely caught by surprise." Kojurou said, before looking for something to talk about, "Ah, your spiders, Amaya-san, how are they? You have various species, from what I remember?"

Yukimura looked a little reluctant to accept the answer, but didn’t argue the issue.
“Ah!” Her cheeks flushed a bit, surprised that someone was asking about her spiders. “They’re doing well now that the weather is improving a bit.”

“Thank you very much for your kind words, Katakura-san.” She bowed to him slightly. “You provide them with excellent, healthy homes, we’re all grateful.”

"It's the very least I can do." He said happily before looking to Yukimura, "So, it's my understanding that you're an okami, Yukimura-san? A noble spirit indeed!"

His ears twitched and he looked up, nodding with a blush at the praise. “Thank you, Katakura-dono, that means a lot coming from someone so highly spoken of by my master.”

“Please don’t speak so lowly of yourself, Katakura-dono! What you do is an honorable craft!” Yukimura praised.

“Your friend is correct.” Yukimura confirmed, smiling warmly, Amaya even nodding in agreement. “I second that.”

"I tend to agree." Akihime said, stepping out with Sasuke close behind her. Kojurou smiled.
"All better?"
"Yes, Sasuke has calmed down quite a bit and would like to apologize." Akihime said. Kojurou waved his hands.
"That isn't necessary, I wasn't offended!"
"Dana will tan my hide if I don't," Sasuke said and bowed, "Please forgive my rude behavior."
"Really, it's quite alright!" Kojurou assured.

Yukimura smiled slightly, bowing his head a bit to Sasuke. “Please think nothing of it, Sasuke-dono.”

"Once we've finished our snacks, I do believe we should get back to work." Akihime said. Kojurou nodded in agreement.
"Yes, while we still have daylight."

“I’ve almost finished planting my section.” Yukimura reported proudly, smudged with dirt from working.
