He opened the door with a chuckle. “Who knows, maybe I’ll just end up clearing both of you out.”
Amaya laughed as she followed. “That’s even less likely.”

“If you’re not careful, we might just mutiny.” She teased as they set off to the next safe house, splitting up into pairs and traveling on different routes.

Sasuke sighed as he walked through the back ways to get to the safe house. He hoped that Mitsunari really would help them all out; whether it be strictly for Amaya's sake or otherwise, he didn't feel like dying at 26.

Amaya was glad she didn’t have to take the back way alone, walking shoulder to shoulder with Sasuke. “Things’ll be fine, it’ll blow over in no time.”

“Hopefully she isn’t too mad.” She said, keeping her eyes peeled as they got closer to the safe house.

He waved his hand, "I'm not worried. If she's mad, she's mad. Who knows, maybe she'll deal with your friends for us." He said with a grin.

She smiled back, gently bumping his hip with hers. “Wouldn’t that be a little too lucky?” She teased.

"A little. But, we can pray." He replied before moving to unlock the safe house door. He glanced around to make sure it was safe before letting her in first.

Amaya entered with her hand on the handle of her blade, but found they were the first ones there. “It’s just us for now.” She said, letting her hand fall back to her side.

“Let’s give it ten minutes, no need to worry just yet.” Amaya herself worried for the two others, knowing they should have been there before them.

Amaya sat in the chair facing the door, waiting in increasing unease. Ten minutes passed, then fifteen. At twenty minutes Amaya sighed and slumped back in her chair. “So we risking going out?”

She nodded as she got up on her feet. “Try not to get shot.” She gave a firm nod, following his orders without question.

Amaya locked the door behind Sasuke like instructed, double checking the windows in the apartment before getting a drink to calm her nerves a bit.

Sasuke kept his eyes on his surroundings as he walked the path the other two should have taken. He was stopped dead in his tracks, seeing the two dead on the sidewalk; both had bullets in their heads and were just left to be found.
"Oh shit..."

There was no note, and no one was waiting around to give a message, but they didn’t have to. The message was clear- they were coming.
