She nodded before returning to the infirmary, remaining there only until she was physically well enough to return back to Masamune. She redressed in her own clothes, putting her tags back on before heading into the hall to let Yukimura know she was ready.
“Ah, the cars just outside, Claudia will drive you back.” He said, motioning with his head for her to follow, which she did quietly. She still felt sick from the drugs, but she was at least able to move around fine.

She gave a short nod, looking much better than she had when she first arrived. “Yeah, thanks for the ride.” She said, giving a nod to Yukimura before climbing into the car.

Akihime watched from her window as Claudia drove Megohime back to Masamune's estate, struggling with her promise not to tell him what had happened.

The drive back to the Date estate was silent, Megohime opting to watch the passing streets, observing the people they drove past.

When they arrived at Masamune's estate, Kojurou and Masamune came out to greet her.
"Mego...! Jesus, it feels like years since I've seen you last~" Masamune teased.

It was good to see Masamune, hear his sarcastic teasing- it was a welcome familiarity. “And whose fault is it I had to be loaned off~?” She teased back as she got out of the car.

"Like hell I was gonna tell Aki no and piss her off." Masamune grinned. Kojurou smiled softly when she came closer.
"Welcome home, Megohime."

“Thanks, Kojurou, it’s good to finally be home. Hopefully slavedriver here didn’t work you too hard while I was gone.” She said, jabbing her thumb at Masamune as she switched to ignoring Masamune entirely.

"The whip hasn't stopped." Kojurou replied in good humor, even as Masamune began to huff.
"Whadda ya mean?! I haven't been like that at all!!"

She gave Kojurou a pitiful look before looking at Masamune with disappointment. “I knew it, you know that’s practically elder abuse.”

Megohime patted Masamune on the shoulder pityingly, nodding. “I’m sure boss has plenty of work to be done, if we start now, we might finish before sundown.”

“Well that’s no fun, so it was a boring mission, and nothing exciting happened here?” She asked with a raised brow, walking close to Masamune, it was good to be back at his side.

"Just normal shit, really." He replied before leaning close, "Kojurou had a small episode while you were gone...didn't last long, but they're happening more often lately..." He whispered.

Megohime frowned at the news of Kojurou’s worsening health. “Has he gone to see the doctor yet?” She asked softly.

She gave a nod, feeling a pang of guilt. “Why don’t I give him the night off, I’ve done it alone before, it shouldn’t be a problem.”

The entire company had gone into town to enjoy some drinks in their down time, enjoying cards and billiards. Everyone had been drinking heavily by that point in the night, and Amaya had excused herself from their poker game to enjoy a cigarette outside.
The cool night air was refreshing, leaning against the alley wall out back as she lit up her cigarette, taking a long drag.

"If you're up for it. I'd rather you rest." Masamune replied.

She could still hear the boys being rowdy inside, having a good time after a long streak of working.

“Please, if you wanna baby me, pay out the contract and let me retire.” She teased.

It was nice, the group they had going. She was sufficiently drunk, the pleasant buzz helping keep her warm.

“Well I was thinking I’d need a nice house to retire in… and well sadly I don’t own one myself.” She said, glancing at Masamune, wiggling her eyebrows at him a bit.

Amaya turned her gaze to the person that called out to her, flicking a bit of ash off the end of the cigarette. “I don’t have any to share, go bum a smoke off someone else.”
