Sickness (FavoredFox & EDDE)

Hakkai watched Samzo go without a word, smiling down at Hakuryuu as he looked up at him with that guilty expression. He lifted his chin off his hand and plopped it down lightly on that tiny head, giving him the gentlest of open handed noogies. "Yes we'll, he doesn't need to know just how far, now does he?" It was true Sanzo's anger at the both of them was likely fully directed at Hakkai, but he preferred it that way. Sanzo knew better than to try anything with the dragon anyway. It would only escalate things if he did.

He began serving their sukiyaki onto their plates with a cheery grin, everything boiled in the sauce to perfection. "Let's not worry about that now. We have a nice meal in front of us. Let's just enjoy ourselves and worry about Sanzo's wrath later."

He popped a bite into his own mouth with his chopsticks and gave a happy hum at the wonderful taste and warmth it provided before quickly snipping up a bite for his lover and offering it out to him. "We could also focus on what my title should be," he reminded him. "I'm sure someone will be around soon wanting you to appear for the people or something like that. We should think of things like that before they come up for now."

A happy, giggle like sound came from Hakuryuu at the gentle noogie. "Sanzo will never know," he agreed with a nod. He waited patiently for his turn, and when the meat was offered to him, Hakuryuu took a nice big bite, but instead of swallowing it instantly to go for another, he took his time chewing and savoring the morsel. A luxury no one ever had with Goku around. Once he did swallow, he chirped in delight, happy bubbles forming around his head. "yummy~!" He took a second bite and cherished it just as he had the first.

He waited until the first slice of meat was completely gone before responding. "What is Hakuryuu meant to do?" he asked with an innocent expression that gradually turned playful and devious. "Hakkai is 'con-cu-bine~," he teased with a sniveling snicker.

Hakuryuu nibbled at and devoured the whole piece of meat at a leisurely pace and Hakkai happily held it there for him to do so, smiling happily and enjoying his pleasure. He was about to tell Hakuryuu that he wasn't entirely sure what would be expected of him, but was thrown off by the follow up. With mock offense, he pulled his hand up to his heart and gasped lightly, scrunching his face into a pout. "But that's Gojyo's role. Are you demoting me already Hakuryuu?" That hand lifted to his forehead in a dramatic display of exasperation. "You've barely had a taste of fame, and already you're too good for me," he teased in fake woe.

Although he paused the dramatics to reach down and pop another bite into his mouth, humming happily at the taste once again while attempting to return to his dramatic pose. The happy smile didn't sell it at all. Not that he was in the first place.

Hakuryuu couldn't help but laugh, his little chirps turning into playful squawks. He loved watching Hakkai's dramatic antics, they were something saved just for him, and they were so fun! He took a break from his laughter to dip his mouth into the cooling tea to take several long gulps to ease the scratching in his throat that threatened to turn his laughter into coughing. When he pulled his head back out, his goatee was drenched and dripping. He licked his lips.

"Master Hakkai is Hakuryuu's wife," he answered seriously with a definitive nod.

Hakkai peeked an eye down at Hakuryuu as he laughed, smiling proudly at himself. He set down the chopsticks when the dragon moved to the drink, picking up a napkin and having it ready when he came up. A bit of heat touched his face again as he smiled awkwardly down at the dragon while dabbing the liquid away. It was always such a mixed feeling when Hakuryuu called him that. "I don't know if it's a good idea to announce myself that way," he told him truthfully. "We don't know how these people could take that. Not many people would understand our relationship. Just look at the others as a case in point."

He picked the chopsticks back up and pluked up a few veggies with a piece of meat this time. "What's another title we could use," he asked before opening his mouth slightly to mimic taking a bite as he poked the sticks toward his little friend. He loved watching Hakuryuu eat. It was so adorable. And most of the time he didn't even notice the little mock movement he did in anticipation of getting to see it.

Hakuryuu tilted his head up for Hakkai to dry his mouth. 'Chu~' He loved Hakkai's reaction. The man always seemed so adoribly shy whenever Hakuryuu called him his wife, and it gave the dragon a giddy feeling. He nodded his head in acceptance, but silently wished they didn't have to hide what they were to each other. Still, he couldn't make complaints. Hakkai was his wife, and even if it had to be a secret, it was still a fact; and Hakuryuu was okay with that.

He opened his mouth wide and muched on the offered food with a loud 'aaomp' in that adorable way of his. Hakuryuu muched with a thoughtful expression, and once he was finished with his mouthful he perked up as an idea came to him. "Oh! Master Hakkai can be Hakuryuu's voice," he decided before opening his mouth for more food.

Hakkai always loved watching the adorable munching go on as Hakuryuu ate. Especially when he seemed so pleased with the food. It was enthralling. "That sounds like a wonderful title Hakuryuu," he praised, booping his nose with the end of the chopstick before picking him up another bite of just meat.

He knew the meat was his favorite, but luckily Hakuryuu didn't complain too often when he snuck in a few fruits and veggies into his meals as well. "Alright. I'll be your voice then." He peeked up thoughtfully as he held out yet another bite mixed with veg for him when the meat was gobbled up at his own pace. "I wonder if it matters really if the others have roles, but I wouldn't really think that it does. We're pretty famous as it is. It might be best to just stick as close to what's actually going on as possible."

He chuckled heavily. "Besides, it wouldn't make sense for Sanzo to be following you given his status, and I doubt any of them could keep up a believable act for very long." He smiled down at the little beast, nipping up a quick bite for himself before setting the chopsticks down and picking up a meat bun for them to take turns biting into leisurely. It was so nice to be able to enjoy a meal for once. "What do you think?"
