Sickness (FavoredFox & EDDE)

Hakuryuu could hear Sanzo cursing out Hakkai when Goku went running in, followed by the loud smack of his paper fan on the monkey's thick skull. "Master Hakkai?" he started, but stopped when the next door was opened. He could wait. It would be impolite to interrupt his Master's attempts to heal their friends, and he'd have all the time he could want with Hakkai once he was done. So he'd be patient. "Hakuryuu will ask later."

Gojyo was lounging on his bed, cigarette in his mouth and open beer can sitting on the windowsill. He turned his attention to the intruder and gave him a playful smirk. "Coming into my room dressed like that? You're gonna make me think something dirty." His usual headband was replaced by a crisp wrapping that hid an embarrassing bump.

The little dragon on Hakkai's shoulder flapped his wings and chirped angrily at Gojyo, who held up his hands. "No offense Hakuryuu. I won't complain if you join."

"Pervert water sprite!" Hakuryuu accused. He'd heard Goku call him something similar many times, and he'd started to pick it up himself.

"Now now, don't get so upset. You'll make yourself sicker," he scolded with a grin, touching his own nose to reference the redness on Hakuryuu's.

Hakkai wasn't ignoring Hakuryuu, but he was focused. Unfortunately he missed the first flof his chirps and just gave his little friend an apologetic nod when he realized how rude he'd been. In condolence, he offered a gentle scritching under his chin again as he checked over Gojyo's condition.

He smiled through their little argument, taking a back seat for a moment. It was cute. "Now now, Hakuryuu, don't be too harsh on him," he teased. "If it wasn't for that thick headedness of his, he might be in much worse shape right now." He gave him a little wink. "Besides, at least we were fortunate enough to stumble into Sanzo's room in the state I was in a minute ago. I fear we wouldn't have gotten off nearly as lightly as we have just now."

He chuckled, offering his little dragon soothing pets and allowing Gojyo to imagine just what that meant as he moved on, walking over and leaning down and staring into his eyes. "How are you feeling Gojyo? The doctor said you didn't seem to have a concussion."

Still, he held one hand in front of the light shining into his right eye and watched it dilate before pulling it away to make sure it rturned to its former state properly a few times, tilting his head to move his attention in different directions as he began to examine him. He would move on to his left eye after. This was a pretty common practice by now. They all had this particular examination down, as head injuries were their most common. And not just from enemies.

Hakuryuu huffed, but was easily soothed by the pets he recieved. He gave Gojyo one more huffy, sniffy chatter before tilting his head up and away in a snub.

"Hah! I didn think you were bold enough to try and seduce Sanzo," he jabbed. "You're almost as much of a slut as I am." And he said that with pride as he placed a hand on his chest with a slight upward tilt of his chin. He calmed himself out of his teasing nature long enough to answer. "I'm doing just fine. Nothin' I can't handle," he assured.

When Hakkai bent down, it wasn't the light he was looking at, though his pupils reacted normally. He couldn't look away from Hakkai's exposed chest. Now, it wasn't as inticing as a beautiful woman's ample breasts, but he wouldn't complain. "Hey Hakkai. Why don't you stay in here with me for a while," he said, reaching out a hand to touch the edge of the robe hanging from Hakkai's shoulder.

Hakuryuu would have none of it. He stretched out his neck, and with a tiny dragon roar, sunk his little teeth into Gojyo's hand.

"Ow! Shit! Leggo you little bastard!"

But he would not. Hakuryuu bit down harder, getting pull off of Hakkai's shoulder as Gojyo shook his hand to dislodge him, shaking Hakuryuu around in the process.

He was more than a little surprised. Gojyo liked to hit on him plenty, but Hakkai tended to make him a little too nervous to be that forward with him. At least, these days. It was a little nostalgic, really, even the little fight that broke out because of it. Well, his examination was over with so that part was fine. Although he wouldn't mind having a look at it. But not if Gojyo was going to be so fresh with him. Hakuryuu was sick and didn't need the excitement right now.

"Gojyo." The name was said in the same sharp tone he always said it in to literally make the man freeze in place. Hakkai was a 'pretty scary dude' according to him, after all. And he wasn't necessarily wrong. Once the fight froze, Hakkai reached out and carefully tugged Hakuryuu into his grasp.

It was such a natural movement, and he had to work very hard not to wince or grit his teeth too hard as he naturally tucked the dragon into his forarmed grasp. "Well," he said calmly, smiling down on the redhead somewhat eerily as he stood up. Though it relaxed a moment later. "You do indeed seem to be doing just fine. Have you been out of your room yet? Have you eaten? I forgot to ask Sanzo, not that he would have answered."

His splinted arm was aching fiercely, but it only took a slight shift to change the weight distribution of the dragon he was now hugging against his bare chest so that the hurt arm was supported by his good arm and out from under Hakuryuu. It was going to prove difficult remembering not to use it. Especially when it was such a big part of his care for his lover. Which, oddly, was even closer to first nature than the fact that it was his dominant hand in the first place.

A drop of sweat formed on the back of his, and suddenly the pain in his hand wasn't all that bad. Gojyo froze and gave Hakkai a nervous laugh as Hakuryuu flapped his wings to tug on his hand.

The little dragon gave one more tug to Gojyo's hand before relenting and releasing his hold so that he could curl obediently into Hakkai's. "Is Master Hakkai okay?" He asked, the concern clear in his voice as he shifted his weight to keep it off of the man's wounded arm. In penance, Hakuryuu touched his lips to Hakkai's cheek with a cute little 'Chu.'

Gojyo rubbed his hand, relaxing once Hakkai's demeanor changed. That man could swap from terrifying to comforting in an instant, especially for Hakuryuu. He breathed a quiet sigh of relief. "Nah, not yet. I didn't want to deal with a droopy monkey following me around. But if you've already taken care of Sanzo then I guess that won't be a problem. I'll head out and get something to eat, there's no room service here. Stingy." He snuffed out his cigarette and hopped out of bed. He looked at his hand and the clear bite mark that had drawn blood. "My head's fine, but maybe you could heal my hand. Hakuryuu did a number on it."

Hakuryuu stuck his tongue out with a very mature noise.

Hakkai smiled at his sweet dragon when he was given a kiss on the cheek, both returning the gesture and attempting to reassure him by pressing that cheek against Hakuryuu's and giving it a soft nuzzle. He didn't want him to worry, no matter how much it actually hurt. It was his own fault for his behaviour.

He looked back to Gojyo as he complained, surveying the small wound on his hand. With how quickly Gojyo healed, he'd be fine in no time. He was probably trying to get a bit.of pity himself. Hakkai thought about it for a moment, but decided against it. It was probably better to retain the boundaries they'd set up. "I'm afraid you're just going to have to deal with it. Think of it as punishment for breaking the rules," he teased warmly.

"Have a nice meal, Gojyo. Hakuryuu and I are going to go rest for a while. We'll go ahead and eat in, so don't worry about us," he added just a little jeeringly.

He turned and walked out the door, quickly closing it behind him just to add to the mystery of his little semi-confession. Hakuryuu was upset with Gojyo for being so forward, but that might not be the only issue. Hakkai hadn't exactly reacted well to the situation initially, and it probably bothered him. He could tell he still wasn't happy by the raspberry he blew at Gojyo. Hopefully he could make it up to him a little by allowing him to lord this rather unique situation they were in over Gojyo before anyone else.

"Now Hakuryuu," he pouted down at the creature in faux reprimand as they made their way to their room. "You're going to have to fix your manners while we're here too. Childish behaviour like that is no way for a Young Master to act."

Gojyo glanced at his hand again before stuffing it in his pocket with little care for the blood that would smear on the inside of it. He wasn't bleeding enough to soak through the fabric, and it would stop pretty soon. "Can't blame me for trying," he replied with a wave of his other hand. He blinked several times at the words shot his way, and followed after the duo. He grunted at the door probably unintentionally slammed in his face, but quickly pulled it open to follow. "Hey, I told you there's no room service."

Hakuryuu looked up at Hakkai and was silent for a moment. Gojyo deserved everything he got! But even if Hakkai wasn't actually scolding him, his master was right. The little dragon puffed himself up and climbed up onto his favorite perch of the man's shoulder. He lifted his head in what he believed to be a more regal posture. He cast a glance at the redhead following a few feet behind them, and despite his urge to stick his tongue out again, Hakuryuu just lifted his nose. "Master Hakkai is right. Hakuryuu is above such antics." He chirped with a haughty tone.

Gojyo paused in his walking for only a moment before speeding up to walk beside Hakkai. "Young Master? That's a new nickname."

Hakkai ignored the reminder of what he'd literally just been told and smiled cheerily at the dragon, stifling his chuckle at the antic due to Gojyo taking his bait rather quickly. He started to reach toward the door handle but stopped himself. He'd definitely be slinging his arm. After having just used it on Gojyo's door, and nearly using it again just now, he knew he'd need the reminder at this point if it was ever going to heal properly. He wasn't used to taking care of just himself enough to pay better attention to the painful signals his body was continually sending him.

He turned to Gojyo, gesturing toward the handle for him to make his way in first. "I think it might be best if we continue this conversation behind closed doors," he told him seriously.

Gojyo looked at him with a hint of confusion, but nodded his head. "Alright." Hakuryuu still wasn't giving him much thought, keeping his nose turned up like some snooty brat, but he tried to ignore it for now.

He followed Hakkai into the room, and as the door closed behind him, he let out an impressed whistle as he looked around. "Wha? Hey!" Just passed the partition, on the much bigger table than the one in his own room, was a large spreading of food. Delicious looking food at that. "A massive room, room service specifically for you, and 'Young Master'?" He looked at Hakkai with a scrutinizing expression. "Alright. What the hell aren't you telling me?"

Hakuryuu's 'regal' pose disintegrated the second the door closed and the lovely scent of sukiyaki and freshly made meat buns reached his poor red nose. "Food is here!" He chirped excitedly, hopping off of Hakkai's shoulder to fly over to the table and land before one of the two plates set out. His tummy rumbled again, and he was so tempted to just dig in, but he would wait for Master Hakkai, if a bit impatiently.

Hakkai first watched Hakuryuu make a beeline for the food. "Feel free to start without me, Master Hakuryuu," he hummed. "Don't forget, that was made special for you."

He then turned his attention back to Gojyo, a candy sweet smile crossing his lips. "You did say you hadn't left your room yet, so I'd imagine you haven't really talked with anyone either. It's probably for the better."

He stepped over to the table and fixed up his coffee in an attempt to make Hakuryuu feel like he wasn't alone if we wanted to snack on something on the table a bit before they enjoyed their meal together. The peppermint tea would likely help clear his airway of he sat his face over it and breathed it it. Lemon chamomile would help his throat. The oolong was there in case he didn't like the taste of the chamomile.

Fixing his coffee also allowed Gojyo a good long moment to take in the rather large, luxurious suite they had been afforded so it could sink in a bit better. He turned back to the man and plastered back on that placating smile of his. "It seems we've stumbled upon a rather unique place," he started cooly. "You're going to have to behave yourself here. At least where it comes to Hakuryuu. You see, this isn't my room. He simply allowed me to stay with him here in his."

He took a short moment to look over the insanity that was their opulent space. "The people here seem to revere dragons. Possibly even worship them. So while we're here recovering, I really would appreciate you on your best behaviour..." He paused and thought about that. "Better, really."

He turned back to check on his little lover. "I can't say what might happen to you if you mistreat Hakuryuu here. Aside from what I might do to you, of course." That last bit only sounded a little dark compared to the usual threat.

To his credit, Hakuryuu took Hakkai's earlier 'chiding' to heart, and instead of diving head first into the meat bun he'd plucked off of the tray, he simply took a large bite. The dough was soft and fluffy, and the meat inside was some of the most tender he'd ever eaten! It was heaven on a plate and he churred out his approval as he chewed and swallowed. "Delicious!" He claimed before lowering his head to take another bite. He was eager to try the sukiyaki, but he would wait for his master first. It was better that way, and not just because it was polite. Without hands, nor the energy to change into a form with hands, he wouldn't be able to make himself a bowl, and pushing his face into the hot sauce wouldn't be very pleasant for him.

Gojyo took the time given to him to walk around the luxurious room. Again he whistled when he peeked into the bedroom area and saw the large four poster bed. It looked a hell of a lot more comfortable than the one he'd been given. Not that he'd complain too much after going so long sleeping in the back of a jeep or on the cold hard ground. "Wait, his room? He's the size of a potato, what's he need this much space for?"

Hakuryuu picked up his head from hovering over the peppermint tea, which was soothing his nose, to chirp out an offended "Not a potato!"

He moved around to look into the bathroom, ignoring the angry squawking from the dragon, and found himself most envious of the large bath. He didn't even have a shower in his room, and doubted the other two did either. "Yeah yeah, best behavior. Got it. But I'm not the one you gotta worry about. Has Sanzo seen this room?" He motioned with his free hand, then pointed to the food Hakuryuu had returned to eating. "And does Goku know you have food?" Gojyo pushed back his bangs with an exasperated sigh. "Cause you're about to have a riot on your hands once they find out."

Hakkai watched Gojyo. At least he looked a little envious. Hakuryuu was too preoccupied with his food to taunt, or simply didnt realize he could just yet. Probably. It could have been that he was just too nice. That was the case sometimes. Although he wasn't too preoccupied to complain about the potato comment. Hakkai hadn't brought Gojyo in here to upset Hakuryuu. It was the other way around. He felt the need to defend him. "That's right Hakuryuu," he agreed defensively. "You're at least as big as a sack of potatoes."

He was a bit slow on the uptake to Gojyo's questions though. When he turned his smile back on the redhead it was a bit nervous. "I may have forgotten to mention..." he chuckled out awkwardly. To Sanzo, it was on purpose. No one needed to deal with one of his blow-ups. But he'd actually forgotten with Goku.

Almost as if on cue, there was a quick rapping at the door. "Hakkai, hey Hakkai. I smell food! Lemme in!"

The emerald eyed demon stepped in front of the table, blocking it from the door. He was more worried for the dragon lounging on it than the food, really. He could order again if he had to, but he'd rather avoid the absolute awkwardness of that. "Speak with Sanzo, Goku."

"I already diiiid," he whined back childishly.

"Well do it again."

There was a slight pause before Goku answered back in a bit more hushed tone. "I'm scared."

It was a good thing Hakkai was good at thinking on his feet. Because it only took one more sentence spoken in just the right tone to have Goku scurrying back to the man he thought he was scared of a moment before. "This is Hakuryuu's dinner." It also happened to be the truth.

He turned back to Gojyo with a nicer smile than when he'd been teasing him. "You'd better get going. Sanzo will cave soon and they'll eat without you," he warned. "I'll be keeping everyone updated on anything else I find out. And please help keep the other two in check. You know how things get."
