SAINTS (1x1 w/DarkMukip)

Once Yukimura had been properly cleaned, he turned and motioned for Akihime to do the same. “Let me get your back.” He offered, grabbing a new wash cloth and getting it soapy.

Yukimura chuckled softly. “I’ve got you covered.” He said, taking the shower head and running the warm water over her shoulders and back before he started to scrub gently.

She relaxed right away, eyes drooping a bit.
"I know your plate is immeasurably full...but do you think you could help me see if my father is...really dead...?" She asked quietly.

Yukimura looked up at her request, his heart heavy as he nodded. “Of course.” He said scrubbing her back. “Whatever it takes.”

"Thank you..." She muttered, "I just want to be sure..." Or maybe she didn't want to feel like the failure Matsunaga said she was. Regardless, she had to be sure Yoshitsugu was well and truly dead.

“We’ll get to the bottom of this.” He reassured her, rinsing the suds from her back and shoulders before moving to shampoo.

She relaxed when his fingers scrubbed gently against her scalp, "Thank you, Yukimura...I don't know what I would do without you..."
Yes, you do. You'd be a mutilated pancake in a pretty coffin six feet under right now.
She shut her eyes tight, trying not to alert him to the jolt of panic in her chest, focusing on his fingers and the sound of the water.

He could smell the intense fear roll off her even in the damp shower, a soft frown tugging his lips down. He scooted his bath stool closer, wrapping his arms gently around Akihime and holding her tightly against his chest. He didn’t say anything, only resting his chin on her shoulder.

"I'm sorry..." She spoke barely above a whisper, voice shaking as she struggled to keep it level, "I'm sorry...I'm so sorry...I-I didn't mean to..." She didn't even realize she was crying until she was forced to sniffle, reaching to hold onto his arms.

He shushed her softly, petting her hair slowly and sitting there with her. “There’s nothing to apologize about.” He reassured her softly.

She nodded, taking a moment to collect herself before giving a soft exhale, "I'm ok..." She reached to hold his cheek gently, "I really don't know what I'd do without you..." She said with a small smile.

“You won’t have to think about something like that..” He said softly, giving her a gentle squeeze before scooting back a bit to continue helping her bathe.

She sat quietly for the remainder of the shower before drying off with him and getting on one of the robes.
"I'll wash our clothes in the morning...there might be something for us to throw on in the room, I'm so tired..."

He nodded in agreement as he toweled his own dripping wet hair, wrapped warmly in his own bathrobe. “I for one am voting for wearing this to bed..” He said, raising his hand for added effect.

She smiled softly and nodded, "I second that.." She said before heading to the room with him. She sat on the mattress and made a noise.
"I'll admit, this is nicer than the futon.."

Yukimura turned on the bedside lamps before moving to turn off the overhead light, returning to the bed. “I’ll take anything but the floor..” He groaned as he laid down, his back popping.

He turned a bit to put his hand over hers, closing his eyes to relax. It didn’t take very long of his eyes being closed before Yukimura had dozed off completely.

It took Akihime a bit to fall asleep, but she did eventually, keeping close to Yukimura all night. When morning came, she was one of the first ones up and was doing all the laundry she could find.
"Dana still asleep?" Sasuke asked, standing by the drip pot of coffee. Akihime nodded, the washer and dryer not far from the kitchette.
"I figured I'd let him sleep, you guys did a lot last night.." She replied.

“Speaking of last night.” Amaya emerged from her and Sasuke’s room, covering a yawn with her hand. “You said something happened.. so, what happened?” She took a seat at the table facing the two.

"Ah," Sasuke became a bit anxious, "dana's kakuja acted up at the tail end of it. Attacked me in the haze, but he came to on his own. We both got lucky."
Akihime frowned softly as she loaded the last of the clothes and started the cycle.
"He must have been struggling with it the whole time.."
"Without a doubt. But, nothing happened and I'm pretty grateful." Sasuke replied.

“Has he been eating enough?” She suggested, wondering if that had been the cause of the episode.

Amaya frowned, understanding very well why Yukimura would have psychological problems after their encounter with Matsunaga. “Maybe Date’s doctors can give him transfusions to keep him stable?”
