SAINTS (1x1 w/DarkMukip)

“Yeah, I found her- she’s right here with me.” He said, moving slow from the pain. “Mind coming and picking us up? We’re on the road headed to my house, I’ll send you my location.”

When Sasuke arrived back at the manor, he was met with a chilling silence, not a single noise coming from the blood splattered home.

"I'm leaving right now." Mitsunari replied and hung up as he stood from his desk, grabbing his keys and his case before heading off.

Sasuke took a breath to quell his nerves as he looked around slowly, "Dana?" He called, "Where are you? Akihime is safe now, Ren took her home. Come out so I can see the damage you took!" He had grabbed some suppressant syringes on his way over, the thick quinque needles long and sharp enough to pierce Yukimura's armor.

Kojurpu stood in deafened shock, staring at the papers presented to him. He took them slowly, his hand shaking, and the investigator bowed deeply out of respect. Another partner, killed mercilessly by a ghoul, and one so young at that. It made his stomach twist so tight that he feared he would vomit there on the floor, but he forced it down.

Ren was glad he could hide his bleeding arm against Akihime, knowing it would draw too attention if someone were to see it. His legs shook with effort to stay up, the suppressants still strong in his system.

The silence was deafening, only the echo of Sasuke’s own voice coming back to meet him. Had Yukimura left, or even perhaps passed out somewhere in the manor? His thoughts were interrupted when something heavy slammed into him hard from behind, not a single noise coming from the large figure.

The report was very clear about what was found during the investigation. Megohime’s quinque had been found alongside a large pool of blood on a side street by a passing pedestrian. When the blood was tested it was found to be Megohime’s herself. The amount of blood lost would have been fatal had the wound not been treated, and she never showed up at any hospitals in the area. Along with the files was a grainy still from a surveillance camera video, a man carrying away someone hidden from view, but the man Kojurou could never mistake for anyone else: Date Masamune.

It didn't take long for Mitsunari to show up, helping Ren get Akihime in the car before helping him inside as well. He climbed behind the wheel and took off, "What happened? You told me you weren't going to go in there...!"

"Shit!" Sasuke flew forward and tumbled hard against the floor with a pain filled grunt. He gnashed his teeth with a hiss as he pushed himself up, looking to see what hit him - though he already had a pretty clear guess.

Kojurou did his best not to crumple the file in his hand as rage made his body feel hot and cold all at once. Once his shift was over, he made the bold decision to go to the Date estate alone to get his answers.

“Ah, i just slipped up a little..” Ren groaned as he finally sat down, exhausted. “But I got her out.”

Yukimura stared down Sasuke- or what he could only assume was staring him down. Yukimura’s kakuja covered his face, dug into his face and eyes, piercing the flesh. Blood and saliva dripped from his mouth as he let out a snarl before lunging for Sasuke again, trying to rake his claws across his chest.

“Boss!” A few boys came running to find Masamune in his lounge, faces pale. “It’s Katakura! He’s here!”

"You slipped and lost the whole of your arm?" Mitsunari scowled at him through the mirror, "Ren, you promised me."

"Dana!" He rolled out of the way and scrambled to grab one of the syringes, "Dana, it's Sasuke! If you can hear me, I need you to try and get ahold of yourself, at least a little!"

Masamune looked up from the papers he had been getting ready for when he called Yukimura again, and his brows bunched tight in annoyance, "Katakura? The fuck for?"
Kojurou merely stood at his car outside the gate, staring down the ghouls who were posted as guards. He didn't move, nor did he even have his quinque case; whether it was because he was more stupid than they thought or as a sign of good faith, they weren't sure.

“I didn’t intend for things to end the way they did, and I’m not thrilled with how my arm is, but it’ll grow back.” Ren avoided his gaze, glancing to Akihime sleeping beside him.

Sasuke felt a vice grip close around his ankle and he was yanked across the floor before being thrown hard into the wall, Yukimura snarling as he followed close behind.

“He claims he needs to speak with you.” One man spoke up, looking unsure. “He wouldn’t elaborate on what, but said he wasn’t going anywhere until you showed your face.”

Mitsunari's scowl softened as he looked back at the road, "Thank you...for getting her back..."

Sasuke coughed up blood, the air forced from his lungs at the impact, "D-Dana...come on..." He muttered hoarsely, gripping the syringe tight, waiting for Yukimura to get closer before ducking as low as he could and jamming the needle hard into Yukimura's abdomen, the quick inject working as soon as it punctured before Sasuke scrambled away, knowing he would need another needle.

Masamune scowled and moved to his feet, walking outside and stopping on the porch.
"What do you want?"
"Megohime." Kojurou stated firmly, "What have you done to her?"
"I ain't done shit. Even if I did, I wouldn't fucking tell you."

“Of course..” Ren said softly, keeping his tired gaze down on his lap.

Yukimura let out an awful scream as Sasuke injected the suppressants into him, knocking the needle away and wipping his head around toward Sasuke. He could see his Kagune slowly starting to crumble, but would he hold out until it was completely broken?

The evidence didn’t lie- that amount of blood loss would have killed Megohime, especially without immediate medical attention. Masamune was also not one to leave anything behind after eating- would there be anything to even bury of her?

"Get some rest. You can stay at my apartment for now. If you need flesh, I'll permit it.." He said gently.

He would have to. He just hoped that if he died, it would be before Yukimura came around. He grabbed another syringe and forced his ukaku out; it was a pathetic excuse of a kagune right now, but it would be enough to distract Yukimura. He ran forward and threw a few shards at his chest, ducking his tails before jamming the new syringe into Yukimura's thigh, watching the vial drain instantly, "Come on, Yukimura, wake up...!!"

"You got some balls showing up here unarmed." Masamune said. Kojurou clenched his fists tightly.
"She didn't deserve to bleed out like that, Masamune! She was young, she had her whole life ahead of her still! You claim to love her and yet you murdered her so coldly, no remorse!" He snapped. Masamune's whole persona changed to that of pure anger before he forced it down. The CCG thought Megohime was dead? Perfect.
"You know me well enough by now, Katakura. Her time was limited the moment I took a liking."
"There's nothing to bury, you selfish prick!!" Kojurou shouted in anger. Masamune's expression turned flat.
"Be lucky there isn't. She wouldn't make a pretty corpse if there was." He turned to head inside, "Get off my property before there's nothing to bury of you."

“What, no way.” Ren looked up at Mitsunari. “A ghoul hiding out at an investigators place? That’s more dangerous than you being at my place..!”

Yukimura’s Kagune came close to crushing Sasuke, whipping around wildly as he staggered back, knocking the second needle out of his thigh with a cry that sounded somewhat more human. The kakuja armor over his body began to crumble faster now, and Yukimura threw himself about, clawing at his own body before he stumbled and collapsed onto his back, large chunks of armor falling from his body now. He was breathing heavily, wounds all over his body from his own kakuja, but for now it seemed to be wearing off.

When Masamune went indoors, he was surprised to find Megohime standing in wait, one of the few rare times he saw her outside of her room, a soft frown on her face. “Kojurou was here.” She said quietly. “Why?”

"Ask me if I care." Mitsunari said, "It isn't forever. Just until you recover."

"Yogatta..." Sasuke muttered before collapsing into the floor in exhaustion.

"Looking for you.." Masamune answered gently, "He thinks you're dead."

Ren wanted to argue, but was too tired, letting out a soft sigh. “Yeah.. Thanks.”

Yukimura lay unmoving except for his heaving chest, the wounds on his face and upper body slowly healing. He was exhausted despite having gorged on so many other ghouls, holding his kakuja state for far too long.

Megohime made a soft noise as she looked away. “Yeah.. I suppose he would. Disappearing leaving behind a mess like that..” She looked uncertain. “Can we keep it that way for the time being..?” She asked, looking back to Masamune.

"How...How do you feel...?" Sasuke asked, his breathing equally heavy as he watched Yukimura.

He nodded, "Of course, Megohime. Whatever you want."

Yukimura’s entire body hurt, and he could barely move at all. “Not good..” He barely managed out, waiting for his eyes to finish regrowing.

“I assume this means he thinks you did it- coming here and all that.” She said. “So then they’re just covering it up, or they’re just too oblivious to know.” Of course her attackers wouldn’t get in trouble, she was a nobody from a dead family. Both of the young men came from prominent families, sweeping her death under the rug didn’t seem too far fetched.

"I figured..." He muttered, shutting his eyes briefly, "She's safe...back with her brother for now..."

"You need a break anyway." He told her, "If they need to think you're dead for a bit then let them think that."

Sasuke could hear Yukimura’s pained wheezing, then the sound of his clothes shifting as he tried to get up. “Was she hurt?” Sasuke could hear the pain in his voice.

Megohime nodded quietly, but Masamune could see the emotions swirling behind her eyes; she was starting to spiral. “It’s better this way.” She said quietly.

"No, I don't think so..." He replied, "Not from you, anyway..." He had shielded both Akihime and Ren when Laurent showed up and attacked, he didn't see either him or Yukimura touch her before Sasuke ran out with her, "Aside from mental and emotional damage, she's good from what I saw.."

"Hey," Masamune moved over slowly and gently touched her cheek, "you're getting anxious...let's get you back into bed, I don't want you to have an attack.."

Yukimura wasn’t satisfied with his answer, but he had no other choice but to accept it. “Thank you for getting her somewhere safe.”

Megohime nodded, putting her hand over Masamune’s and holding it gently. She felt pathetic and weak, but she was broken- betrayed by people she never expected to betray her. “Will you lay with me?”

"Anything for you, dana..." He replied, body aching from exhaustion, "once you're good, we should get going...doves are bound to flood the place soon enough..."

He nodded, letting her take him back to her room and letting her get comfortable before laying down with her. He held her close, petting her hair slowly.

“Yeah.” Yukimura’s eyes were just about finished healing, his vision blurry but manageable. “Can you walk?”

Megohime held close to Masamune, resting her head against his chest. “Promise me.” She said softly. “Promise me you’ll never betray me.”

Yukimura managed himself back to his feet, his legs threatening to give out once he stood fully. “I’ll manage.” He said.

Megohime nodded and rested her head against his chest. “Good.”
