“Can I see her..? Please, I need to see her..!” He begged weakly, his instability clear in his eyes.

He tutted gently, "I'm afraid that if I allowed that, you would rampage through my facility. And I honestly have no desire to deal with that presently."

“I’ll behave, I promise I’ll behave..!” He pleaded, crawling forward. “Please let me see her!” He clutched at Matsunaga, hands shaking and his breath quick and panicked.

He nodded his head desperately. “You can cut off my arms and legs- I don’t care, just please let me see her..!” He had to see with his own eyes that she was alive, the image of her with a hole in her head the only one he could conjure up when thinking of her.

Yukimura looked a little confused, unsure if what he was offering was a trap or not. He stumbled to his feet, glancing at Matsunaga nervously as he passed him on the way out the door, searching for Akihime’s scent.

Yukimura carefully walked down the hall, his bare feet cold from the cement floors, going to where Akihime’s scent was the strongest.

It took him down the hall and in front of a door in the corner. Entering cautiously revealed Akihime lying in a medical bed, her wounds wrapped tightly as she was rested. She was paler than normal in this lighting, showing the extent of her bloodloss.

Yukimura approached the bed carefully, like he was afraid to draw closer to her. He stopped beside her bed and stared down at her, his entire body feeling painfully cold as fear and anxiety gripped him. He didn’t speak at all, too afraid to break the silence, looking over her wrapped up wounds again and again.

Yukimura shook his head, lip quivering slightly. “She was only trying to help me..” He said weakly, reaching out carefully to touch her hand with the tips of his fingers. “She was only trying to help..!”

“L-Let me fix it..” He squeezed Akihime’s hand as he turned to look at Matsunaga over his shoulder. “Please let me fix it and let her be forgiven.”

“Anything- I’ll give anything!” He couldn’t stand the twisting feeling where his heart was. “Farm me instead!” He demanded.

“Then more- a hundred times more!” He didn’t care what it took, if it was to take Akihime out of harms way he would do it in a heartbeat.

"You really should lower your voice before you wake her. She was at deaths door, after all." He said, "If you continue to do as I say, I will consider forgiving her."

He shut up immediately, lowering his head like a scolded dog. He was trembling with anxious rage, angry that Akihime was in such a state, and afraid she wouldn’t wake.

"I'll leave you with her for now, but try not to linger. You did miss your dinner time." He said, a smirk on his lips at the last part, before he turned and left.

Yukimura scowled softly at the floor, glancing back at Akihime, knowing he shouldn’t stay long, but he didn’t want to leave her.
He knelt beside her bed, holding her hand gently to his forehead, trying to focus on the feeling of her hand in his, but part of his brain told him she wasn’t real- he had seen her die after all.

She felt so real; he was aware of the warmth her skin radiated, her familiar scent, even the sound of her heartbeat was real in his ears. But she died? Didn't she? She said Matsunaga was drugging him; could that be why his realities were blending?
"Yukimura...?" How long had he been sat like that? Akihime was looking at him, her eyes heavy and tired, "How did you get here...?"

He picked his head up right away, moving closer and giving her hand a gentle squeeze. “Matsunaga.. he let me see you- I was so worried.” He didn’t care if she was real or not, if he was talking to an empty bed or a ghost- he wanted to protect Akihime.
