So, I've been a big fan of this system since it came around, and am curious to see if anyone out there would be interested in picking up a game, with some NSFW elements tossed in for good measure.

If you're unfamiliar with the system, but would like to know more, let me know as well.
If you're interested, let me know if you have a specific storyline or adventure path you may have in mind.

Some fun things you can do in Saga Edition:
--Cheerleader: The noble class has several talent trees where your character gives their party bonused by saying or doing something inspiring. It can actually get really powerful. If you take it all the way into prestige classes (I'm looking at you Crime Lord) it gets to where you can give multiple people a free attack. Officers are similar but they can give their party members the use of their talents.

--Battle Bikini and Briefs: Major characters don't need armor! Think about it, in star wars, minor characters use armor--often with face concealing helmets--but major characters are either unarmored or highly traded, seriously bad ass armor specialists like Boba Fett. The game reflects this.

--Bringing a knife to a gun fight: Well, this is kind of the signature for JEdi, but melee duelists and martial arts masters are just as good at it. Master privateers even have incredible techniques that involve a vibroblade in one hand and a blaster in the other. A gun really is handy to keep around on a war zone, because neither swords nor force powers have much range!

--Tom Sawyer School of Spray and Pray: Feats like burst fire rapid shot let you do extra damage at the cost of accuracy.

--Allan Quartermain school of the perfect shot: I also call this, "I aim, you loose." By using your entire action economy for the round to focus a single perfect shot, you can build a character who gets bonuses to hit, bonuses to damage, and--with prestige class talents--even forces the opponent an automatic step down the condition track.

--The Superman School of pacifisms: In order to kill someone you have to do a large amount of damage with the attack that drops them to 0 hit points. Also, pretty much every blaster in the game has a stun setting. As a result of this, it's fairly easy to build a character who refuses to kill. However, it's still choosing to disadvantage yourself for morale reasons. Like superman in a fist fight, you need to gauge how tough your opponent is and not hit them too hard. Likewise most stun settings have a range of 6 squares (9 meters.) So if you choose a character like this, it's viable but it's not free. (And that makes drama!)

Just something to keep the chit chat going. *Smiels*

Finding myself thinking about Star Wars when I should be trying to sleep, so I thought I'd share some early character concepts I've been playing around with. None of these are particularly detailed yet, or set in stone, so I'm happy to give them up if anyone was thinking of something similar. Which one I ultimately go with probably depends on what we'll be doing as a group or which would best complement everyone else's characters. Not totally committed to particular genders for any of these concepts yet, either.

The Tanks
These two concepts are based around a fun Soldier talent called Draw Fire which can prevent enemies from attacking anyone other than you. I reckon I could enjoy making myself a big ol' target every fight. :D
The Mandalorian relies on heavy armour to keep herself safe, and ideally would carry a great big blaster of some kind - because if you're not going to stand in cover at all, you might as well be stolling out there with a gatling gun in your hands. A bit of a lone wanderer but emphatically not a bounty hunter, although the distinction might only be clear to her. What's she doing in the company of at least two Jedi? No idea yet, but it'll be fun to figure out! (I'm not big on the old Mandalorian lore, so she'd be drawing on the show and what I've seen of their portrayal in the Clone Wars. Going to have to check which book has rules for beskar...)
The Jedi Guardian would specialize in the Deflect talent and damage-mitigating force powers / lightsaber forms - step out, light up your laser sword, and make yourself a target. I imagine she'd be a frequent partner of @desperado1089's character, in much the same way that Anakin and Obi-Wan continued to frequently work together after his training. What exactly I'd do with her probably depends a lot on what his character is like. She'd need at least one level of Soldier, so maybe she was involved in a conflict somewhere in the past?

The Archivists
A pair of more supporting characters, united by the fact that they're a pair of nerds when it comes to digging up old artifacts. :p Less combat focused, more knowledge and conversation skills and abilities.
The Jedi Consular is similar to the Guardian in that he'd be a partner for Desperado's Jedi, but with a very different skill set. There's a couple of Jedi talents that let you talk someone into surrendering (or at least into heavy condition track penalties), which seems like a lot of fun to try. There's also an actual Jedi Archivist tree, though it didn't amaze me at first glance.
The Archaeologist is a Noble or Noble/Scoundrel with, uh, not that much mechanically that makes him an archaeologist, really, I didn't find much beyond the Educated talent. Still, he'd be travelling the galaxy digging up old relics, probably with some useful skills for inspiring allies or talking enemies down (nobles also get fun surrender talents).
As a side note, has anyone else read the Doctor Aphra comics? This character isn't her, but those comics did really get me thinking about how fun archaeology is as a story hook in Star Wars. A lot of cool old relics and lost civilizations out there.

The Crewmembers
@freeko's comment about a ship captain got me thinking - a captain needs a crew, right? So I thought it could be fun to be someone working for that captain, Firefly-style, if we do go that route. These characters aren't particularly fleshed out beyond their job titles, but part of the fun would be making someone that bounces off the rest of the crew in an interesting way.
The Pilot, er, flies the ship. Scoundrel into Ace Pilot, in all likelyhood, but haven't thought about it past that. Was he a starfighter pilot? Owes the captain a favour? Depends on the era, probably.
The Mechanic is actually inspired by a comic I came across the other day which had Rey bent over on her hands and knees as she worked on the Falcon, which got me thinking that that could be a pretty fun archetype to be playing in a game with some NSFW elements. ;) So, she's not fleshed out much beyond that yet, but I'm pretty sure there's some stuff you can do with a Mechanics focus in Saga. Gear modifications, droids... going to have to do some research.

So, there's my rambling wall of thoughts. Haven't narrowed it down much yet, have I? 😅 Anyway, hope you're all having a good weekend!

Oh, almost forgot to add: The Archaeologist, Pilot, and Mechanic are all characters I might play as untrained, unknowing Force sensitives, which could give them a hook for interacting with the Jedi characters in an interesting way down the line - if it wouldn't trod on @lilwhiterabbit's Padawan's toes too much. Not totally sold on that idea yet, though.
(The Mandalorian, probably not so much - Mandalorians generally have enough of their own stuff going on, in my opinion.)

Great posts. Since people are talking character options, I am currently leaning toward a non Force using type, balanced between skill and combat, with enough money to be viable at both. He wont do much damage, just a pistol or rifle and some good armor.

I'd like to participate if there's still room, though I'm unsure what kind of character that I'd like to bring to the table.

Edit: I'd like to play a one shot-one kill kind of weapon specialist. Assassiny type.

I have options for how I want to shape the general idea I have. I could be a han solo type, that just happens to be drawn into things by a convenience of sorts (having a ship). On the other hand, I considered being a snubfighter pilot a little as well.

I'd say from a ship/crew perspective. It all depends on the ship. A small fighter needs little more than pilot and astromech. Something big enough to hold that fighter, probably at least 200 dedicated crew plus any kind of military presence. Just kinda guesstimating a bit.

Millenium Falcon had a crew of two mostly speaking. Firefly had 9? So a midsized ship with a small crew feels entirely reasonable. Captain, co-pilot, engineer, and a few other tertiary roles like gunners and/or medics? Depends on what we are working with in all honesty.

If one character is gonna have a ship that can accommodate the entire party of players plus any small-ish vessels they may have (like a Jedi Starfighter, for instance), size-wise I'm thinking similar to the one Han and Chewie had in The Force Awakens when they tractor-beam'd the Falcon after Rey and Finn escaped from Jakku in it.

I'm perfectly happy with playing ship security, as I'm currently envisioning a formor Republic SpecForce with a broad range of weapon and explosives training. I'm thinking he found the military not to his liking so went freelance after his first term. Think Grosse Point Blank but in space.
One possible spin on the character background might involve finding out that he's (one of) the last surviving members of a Mandalorian clan that disappeared decades ago.

There is one major concern I have at this point. The OP has joined on the 13, and last seen on the 16th which is a week ago at this point. I'll reserve my creative energies for now as it will make little difference if the OP poofed on us.

*Smiles* Well, still hoping.

There's a ship in Starships of the Galaxy--I can't remember the name quite yet. it's millennium falcon sized and has docking clamps to carry two starfighters with it through hyperspace. that's hardly ideal but if you're willing to take a quick space walk at the start of the battle in order to get in your fighter it can be pretty awesome.

There is also Senator Amidala's ship from the opening sequence of AOTC. Or ones with similar configurations at any rate.

But something with a hangar bay, however small, would be ideal.

I haven't dug through this edition's starship book yet, but in worst case, you can simply duplicate what they did on Rebels. Attach a shuttle type ship on the back.

Hopefully our overwhelming enthusiasm hasn't scared them off. 😅

This is a Citadel-Class Cruiser:

That's a cool ship. It'd definitely suit us pretty well.

I've been playing around with the starship design rules for fun this morning, and using those we would need to go with something pretty big, like Han and Chewie's freighter, to fit any kind of hangar space (they don't even let you include docking clamps on anything smaller, despite the Citadel's existence). On the plus side, something like that would have plenty of room for hangar space, cargo, and fun upgrades. We'd probably need to also carry around a shuttle or something, though, just so we could actually land in smaller spaceports.

Didn't miss it. ;) What I mean to say is "a big ship like desperado was suggesting". Sorry, I could've been clearer about that.
