They were big. They were a little intimidating. One looked like it could easily be the size of his arm. He wasn't sure who was fucking themselves with these things because honestly sometimes taking Katsuki's cock felt like a challenge.

He took the lube when it was handed to him, clutching it a little too tightly as he followed. It really shouldn't embarrass him to see Katsuki put the light blue toy at his own crotch but it did, and he pressed his face into his boyfriends shoulder when he nodded.

They ended up back in the BDSM section and he avoided the hanging boobs that time, sparing them a narrowed eyed glance, before he took in what Katsuki was looking at.

"You are not cuffing my feet open," he said, but his tone wasn't serious so much as wistful, like he didn't really believe Katsuki would do it, which would probably just make him do it even more. He hadn't seemed to take in the display of collars yet, but he did reach up and run his fingers along a bright red shibari rope. "Would you let me tie you down?" He asked curiously.

Katsuki was practically drooling as he was going through all the different BDSM gear, imagining Shoto in all kinds of positions. Bent over, across his lap, on his back, the possibilities were endless and he was excited to get home. As he was testing a riding crop whip on the palm of his hand, he glanced back to see Shoto finally pick up something on his own. Naturally, he was opposed to the idea of being tied down by anything or anyone, since... well, everyone liked restraining him.

The League of Villains had nearly put him in a metal straitjacket and even the faculty at school had restrained him to a pillar at the sports festival. Even gagged him with a mask. Katsuki didn't have such fond memories of being tied up, but... with Shoto it didn't seem so bad.

"To do what?" he narrowed his eyes. "If you're trying to put stuff up my ass, hell no."

Shoto snorted. They'd easily fallen into roles of give and take without ever really talking about it. Ever since the very first time when he hadn't been able to look Katsuki in the eye, but when he'd been bent over and had practically cried for it, that had kind of cemented their sex positions.

"You should try it," he teased, but he left the rope there. "Feels really nice."

He walked behind his boyfriend and hooked his chin on his shoulder, eyeing the crop in his hand. Very softly, like he was having to build up the confidence for it, he said, "I was thinking more like making you sit still and take it while I suck your cock for hours."

So far, his erection had been kind of docile, not flaring up like it usually did in these kinds of situations but when Shoto put that thought in his head, he undeniably had a boner tenting against his thigh. Against his black jeans, it was painfully obvious. "Fucking-" he huffed, though the next part was uttered quick under his breath. "Let's get it."

While they were at it, he reached for a baby blue collar with softer lining on the inside, almost a striking match with the toys that they were purchasing.

"Good thing everything's on sale," he grinned. They could even walk out here with a freebie if they purchased one more thing from the BDSM aisle. "You choose," he offered as he fitted the spreader-bar under his arm, determined to take the thing home.

Shoto smiled slightly, he would have left it be if Katsuki hadn't seemed interested, but he knew his 'I have a boner now thanks' huff, even if he couldn't see from where he was standing, and he pressed a chaste kiss to his boyfriends neck as he went to grab the red rope. There were other colors, but he always had liked the way Katsuki looked in red.

He tucked it under his own arm and was following the line of the collar with his finger while they took their last look. It was leather, the lining was soft. It wouldn't chase. It has a silver loop for a leash. It was ... he kind of wanted to wear it all the time.

He eyed the spreader again and then gave Katsuki a blank look, but he didn't say no. Instead he let his eyes go over the wall again, chewing his bottom lip uncertainly.

His gaze landed on a butt plug and he flushed again, thinking about ... cum couldn't leak down his thighs if it ...

Wow, he really couldn't do this. He covered his face with his hands and muttered. "I don't know you just pick and I'll do it."

Since he knew Shoto would get flustered, Katsuki followed the angle of his boyfriend's gaze to the butt plug on display and grinned like a Cheshire cat. Naturally, he felt like taunting him, so he picked out a baby blue one to complete the set and pulled Shoto close by his ass to mutter ruggedly against him. "I'm going to fuck you so hard when we get home," he whispered. "So enjoy the date."

He kissed Shoto's lips a little innocently despite the devious smirk on his face, and didn't release that firm grip on his boyfriend's ass even as another shy couple, most likely students as well, shuffled past them. "Yeah, this'll work," he said. "Maybe we can get those bead things as a freebie now."

He'd seen a little promotional poster on the way in, how the store was doing a massive store-wide sale and would include a bunch of freebies with purchases. "Here, I'll pay for half," he offered. "Since most of this is... mine." He really needed to look into part-time jobs or paid internships if he wanted to keep up with their new... interests.

He flushed again and wondered how it was possible to want the ground to open up and swallow him whole and also be half hard at the same time. He would have never gotten this far with Mina, or on his own, and he was ready to die all over again when another couple passed them. He was glad they were shy too and didn't want to converse or anything.

He didn't ask what bead things. He wasn't sure he wanted to know.

"Most of this is yours," he repeated, "yeah, right, like it's not for my pleasure." He dug his wallet out of his pocket and shook his head. "I can get most of it. You bought the beds I'll be recovering in, after all."

"But I'm using them on you," Katsuki grinned, almost like an evil scientist smirking down at his poor, lab experiment. That was what most of their sex ventures was like, anyways. He pushed Shoto and tried out a bunch of inappropriate things to test what he'd like. What they'd both like.

He handed Shoto a crumpled bill from his pocket so he could pay for his share of their toys, or for at least the BDSM gear that he'd quite shamelessly splurged on. The employee placed everything in a discreet paper bag big enough to even hide the spread-bar with the dangling cuffs. Katsuki was most excited about using that one.

And for freebies, Katsuki picked out anal beads and some weird syringe that the employee enthusiastically advertised as a lube syringe, for getting the right amount of lube inside before actual penetration. Their bag was pretty heavy and it felt like they'd splurged a little too much and gave away how freaky they were. He offered to hold the bag to save Shoto the embarrassment, and slipped his hand easily in his boyfriend's.

"Excited?"

Watching their balance add up he felt like he was going to have to put stuff back before the sale prices kicked in and took every thing down. He felt like they'd gone a little too far, but he didn't want to put anything back, so he paid and avoided eye contact with the very nice employee who didn't say a word about them both being men, just wished them a good day.

He breathed out a sigh of relief when Katsuki took the bag. Even without anything giving away what was inside, he didn't think he was brave enough to hold it. He thought about the question for a moment, holding Katsuki's hand tight in his own, before nodding. It wasn't that he wasn't looking forward to anything they'd bought, he was just warring with the side of him that was shy, and the side that was a slut.

Why did everything about him have to be half and half.

"Yeah, I think it'll be fun."

By now, his erection had settled down, and Katsuki turned to Shoto to see how he was handling everything. It had been entertaining to see Shoto nearly die of embarrassment but he also wanted to make sure that he enjoyed the rest of the day too, when they weren't being sexual with each other.

"Deep breath, snowflake," he chuckled, bringing his boyfriend close by his shoulders and kissing the white side of his hair. "Come on, let's go get you that soba. I'm fucking starving."

He grumbled something unintelligible when Katsuki pulled him in, but he was happy with the kiss he got all the same.

The walk to the soba restaurant was easy, the streets weren't too crowded and it wasn't freezing out yet. He looked up to the sky again, thinking about snow, and - it's embarrassing and cheesy and a bit of a cliche, but he lifts his right hand in the air and lets the breeze catch ice from his palm and it's not snow, exactly, more like sleet, but it feels a little like being stuck in a snow globe, pressed to his boyfriends side, the sun setting and the beginnings of Christmas appearing around them.

He smiles softly and thinks he's going to really enjoy the holidays.

He only caught what Shoto was up to when he felt the soft nip of frost on the tip of his nose. He couldn't help but smile, even though it was a little smug and looked more like an impish grin than anything, as Shoto created what looked like the beginnings of Christmas around them.

The snow had him thinking how he would like to do more with Shoto over the break than walk around the city. He would have loved to go sledding, build a snowman, just... things he thought Shoto would have missed out on since it sounded like he didn't have the perfect childhood. Or even a normal one. Katsuki had a tiger mom and a deadbeat dad but he'd been fortunate that he hadn't really been left wanting as a kid. That seemed to be the problem, really.

He hung their kink bag over his shoulder and mussed up his boyfriend's hair with the other hand.

"I don't fucking know how you eat this everyday."

"It's my favorite," he defended as the last of the flurries disappeared and they reached their destination.

They got a table, and Shoto hung his jacket on his chair and ordered without even glancing at the menu, and it was only after Katsuki had done the same and they had already gotten their drinks that he brought up what he'd done with his day.

"I looked at switching out my courses, for next semester. If you're serious about working together." He didn't really doubt that Katsuki was, he just needed the confirmation before he made such a big change. "I won't be upset if you're not. I know ... I can be a lot sometimes."

Katsuki scooted their kink bag under the table and took a bit longer to look over the menu which was unsurprisingly dominated by soba and its many side dishes. Eventually, he chose a bowl of hot soba and tea for the both of them.

He glanced up in surprise when Shoto mentioned changing his courses. Now that they were in college, it was easier to take specific courses that each of them were interested in rather than approaching it in a general education sort of way. Katsuki intended to take the most rigorous, intensive courses to be a pro hero, of course. He'd also kind of taken an interest in tinkering with things, like mechanical engineering, but it was only for explosives and such.

"Well, yeah," he admitted. "Are you fucking kidding me? Babe, we'd be the strongest duo in hero history. Probably even stronger than your old man and All Might combined."

He smiled, an actual smile, not just the little quirks at the edges of his mouth that he often got away with, and nodded. "Okay. I'll drop my schedule changes at the main office tomorrow, then."

Because honestly, Katsuki was right. Shoto was in the top five of their class, he'd fallen behind some at UA high with everything that had sidelined them during their teen years, but he'd managed to catch up. Their whole year was full of students that had seen more actual hero work than most classes.

It also didn't slip his attention that he got called babe, but he didn't want to bring it up.

He couldn't remember another time he'd felt so right about his future. He wasn't making decisions out of spite, or to prove anything to anyone. He was making them because he wanted to keep Katsuki in his life, and because working alone wasn't something he wanted to do anymore. They would make a damn good team.

Katsuki got the feeling that they would make a damn good team, too. He wasn't used to working with anyone, his insufferable personality to be the best always got in the way of that, but Shoto never challenged him to anything, and honestly, Katsuki felt Shoto could make up for what he lacked in. Katsuki was great at going straight for the kill in a burst of damage, and Shoto was best at strategy, utilizing his powers to fit the current situation. Together, they would undoubtedly work each other up like All Might and Sir Nighteye had.

As their food came out, he instinctively poured Shoto his tea first. It was a habit that he was subconsciously doing now and if somebody pointed it out he would have denied it to kingdom come.

Even in the restaurant, he sat on his chair with his legs crossed, but didn't seem to mind the looks their way. "So, what classes are you taking?" he asked, surprisingly casual for once. He was getting into more of these mellow moods with Shoto often now.

He took his tea happily when it was passed over, and would probably never admit how much the little habit made him feel cared for, just as much as Katsuki would never admit doing it. It was nice and warm in comparison to his cold food. The weather said he should be eating warmer dishes, but he was a creature of habit.

"I found a course Sir Nighteye had lined out, actually," he answered, and dug in his jacket pocket to find the list he'd written out. He looked it over and explained, "it's a lot of what's on the pro course, but it has a Recovery class, and a few support classes. I think from the looks of it, it's going to focus more on co-habitation, than the independence the pro classes focus on."

He thought for a moment, tapping his chopsticks against mouth. "I might also pick up a quirk training class." The classes weren't mandatory for students who had gone to UA High, because they were already so advanced, but more for students who had attended other high schools and got in by their grades less than their experience. "I'm still ... my fire quirk isn't as advanced." He'd started training it too late. The imbalance went unnoticed a lot of the time, but not to anyone who closely watched him fight.

Katsuki playfully snatched the paper out of Shoto's hands just to be a dick about it, and looked over it much like a parent looking over their child's report card. "Eh, a quirk training class? We already took a shit ton of those-" he stopped when Shoto explained why, and it made sense. Both he and Midoriya had pointed it out first at the sports festival and ever since then, he'd seen Shoto try and use the flames more often but Katsuki had noticed it was often just to warm up his icy side.

He reached forward mid-conversation to pick a piece of lint that had fallen onto Shoto's face, and continued talking as if nothing had happened.

"So we should take that partnered program, then," he pointed out. It was like boot camp for heroes and sidekicks to work together over the course of the summer to earn some extra credits, just like how internships worked.

He let the paper go with only half a glare. He'd taken the notes with the purpose of sharing them, but it was just the way Katsuki did it - just to be a dick. He should find it annoying. It was kind of just endearing.

Taking a quirk training class would be a hit to his pride. He was supposed to be light years ahead of the students who would be in it, but if he only used his fire and not his ice, he could probably get it up to par. No more wasted time. He had some catch up to do.

He blinked, mismatched eyes wide, when Katsuki brushed lint from his face and wondered ... when they'd stared doing stuff like that. Little bits of affection. He was so lost in it that he almost missed what his boyfriend said.

The partnered program. Why was he surprised Katsuki would want to do it with him. It was exactly what they were talking about. And it would keep them in the dorms over the summer, instead of requiring them to move home like everyone else would have to do if they weren't getting extra credit.

"I - yeah. We should."

All these subtle gestures of affection were happening subconsciously for Katsuki. It just seemed normal to him at the time to brush something off Shoto's face or get him something first, but if somebody were to point it out, he would absolutely stop doing that thing as if he hadn't been doing it at all.

He arched a brow when Shoto looked surprised that he'd asked, interpreting it as hesitance at first. It would be a whole summer of the two doing actual patrols unsupervised, since the pair had their licenses now and could act without intervention for the most part, but it would be a curriculum that would test their teamwork. Many pairs went in with high hopes and came out of the eight week program broken up, so he wondered how they would fare together. If Katsuki actually tried to work with someone.

"Unless you wanna go home over the summer," he teased.

"No," he said, too fast, too sharply to have really noticed that Katsuki was teasing. He closed his eyes for a moment and took a breath. His siblings were grown, had their own houses, his sister was probably even going to get married soon. She drug them back home to try and act like they were a real family sometimes, but if he went home it would be just him and his father. It would ... it wasn't happening.

"I mean," he says, and forced himself to calm down. "I'd rather stay. Do the program. We could use the practice, and it'd be good to see how we work together in a controlled environment."

Katsuki pouted slightly. "Tch, that's all you're gonna stay for?" He was teasing, again. "I'll sign us up for that, then. The sooner, the better. All these damn extras are gonna fill up the spots." Once they were finished eating, Katsuki actually pulled out his wallet instead of more crumpled bills and paid for their dinner. It felt nice, being able to pay for something that they both enjoyed, and getting to provide for Shoto in a way.

He took their kinks bag in hand, Shoto's hand in the other, and headed out to start their way home. It was a pretty chilly night, but Katsuki was wearing a black hoodie and was pretty warm, all things considered.

"You're safe, you know," he mumbled once the streets cleared and it was just them walking down a quiet road. "You need somewhere to stay, I'll stay with you, Shoto, you just gotta ask, idiot. Or, I guess, don't, I'll do it on my own."

The rest of their date was nice, relaxing even, and when they got outside it was dark enough and cool enough that he plastered his right side to his boyfriend. He liked the cold, but his body temperature could easily get messed up, and Bakugo put off enough heat of his own to help regulate it.

Safe.

His heart slams against his chest and his grip on Katsukis hand tightens. The day seems like a test in reminding him that he's not alone anymore.

He hadn't even thought of what summer would bring when he'd left for college. It's felt so final, so much like goodbye, that returning hadn't crossed his mind even though he'd watched his brother do it ever year. He swallows, thickly, his throat suddenly dry and rests his head on his boyfriends shoulder.

"Thank you."

His heart warmed with butterflies when Shoto rested his head on his shoulder. It was one thing to be feared, respected, and even idolized but... Katsuki had never felt like someone relied on him before. Felt safe with him. He'd never even tried being a protective figure to anyone.

He turned his head slightly to kiss the top of Shoto's head, basking in the familiarity and the bliss of it all. Fuck, he loved him a lot.

He took the "thank you" this time, meeting it with silence instead of a quip. Instead, he turned his gaze towards the sky and mused. "Think it's gonna snow tomorrow?" He'd seen the weather reports talking about the first snow of winter happening sometime this week and while Katsuki had never really been fond of snow, he was secretly excited to spend Christmas with Shoto this year around.

"Yeah, actually," he says as he looks at the sky too. "I think it might."

They'd been out plenty of times together, even before, other things he would probably call a date, but walking home that evening feels different. It's nice, and Katsuki is calm and content next to him, and he rolls that word around in his head - safe - and thinks yeah. It's the safest he's felt in a very long time.

It's late when they get back, and there's a flyer taped to the door advertising a Christmas party like the Halloween one. The gift theme is ridiculously cheap, and boasts a game. He passes it to Katsuki as he unlocks their door, and thinks it's kind of silly how much a dorm room feels like home, but it probably has more to do about their stuff together than the place.
