She got the sense that he was indeed smiling and that made Suriel feel better than she had been before, when she'd been lost in thought. It was hard, to have no memories at all. It made her feel incomplete and out of place, like she didn't belong here. Or anywhere, for that matter. She smiled and then nodded as he moved towards the mouth of the cave; she knew she'd have to adjust to the light. She didn't even know what the light would look like, or feel like, but she was curious. Really, she was curious about anything and everything; wouldn't anyone in her position feel the same? When you knew nothing, wasn't the natural impulse be to find out everything you could?
As she followed after him quietly, she did indeed notice that she felt not one iota of pain anywhere in her body. Wasn't that strange, if she had really been buried beneath the rubble of the city? She was getting the sense she was different...and not necessarily in a good way, perhaps. As much as she wanted her memory back, she realized it could ultimately be a bad thing. She could be the enemy for all they knew and she really didn't want to be an enemy of Orguss. Despite the little time that they had spent together, she already felt comfortable and safe with him...she did not want to turn out to be his enemy; if it came to that, as a man of the military, she was certain he'd side with his men. The thought saddened her, though she knew it shouldn't, because she was just being pessimistic. She could be an ally, for all she knew.
She smiled again to herself.
