I’ve been writing since I was young, but roleplaying came into the picture when I was around 14, living alone out in the woods, abandoned by my mother. I had the house, a dog, and the internet. I was the good kid; didn’t want to be in trouble. I’m not a partier, not a drinker, smoker or anything of the sort— This is not me passing judgement on people that do these things. I was just lonely and wanted to make friends the only way I could at the time: The glorious, [/FONT][/COLOR][COLOR=rgb(255, 255, 255)][FONT=Book Antiqua][B][U]dial-up internet[/U][/B][/FONT][/COLOR][COLOR=rgb(247, 218, 100)][FONT=Book Antiqua]. That’s right. I’m pretty old.
My focus has always been aimed toward the [/FONT][/COLOR][COLOR=rgb(255, 255, 255)][FONT=Book Antiqua]creative side[/FONT][/COLOR][COLOR=rgb(247, 218, 100)][FONT=Book Antiqua], it’s just what I’ve always loved. I wish I was more musically inclined, playing an instrument would be amazing, but I cannot. I sing a lot, music is my life. I can’t focus well without something playing, else I get random song clips looping inside my head on repeat. My tastes are genuinely everywhere. One day it’s classical, the next metal. I enjoy drawing. Paper and pencil, digital. I just have to be in the mood. Writing is where it’s at.

I’m not huge on body hair, so feel free to either leave it off or have it be minimal if you don’t mind. Canon and Fandoms are not typical things I write. I’m hardly familiar with universes enough to play them. I could be inclined to do a Dragon Age story, maybe, but that’s a hard maybe. It would have to be the general idea of Dragon Age with all original characters, I think. Like I said. Not huge on these sorts of things because it doesn’t allow my thoughts and words to flow in the way that I like. These involve more work and research just to be sure I’m doing it right.
I don’t want to write anything furry related, and it would take a very strong convincing to get me to play as an anthro-character at this point, too. In my youth I played all sorts of neko and kitsune girls, but they’re not my current cup of tea. Random Setting Shit.
Feeling sort of like I can't write or something. Trying to kick my brain into gear and free write. This turned out okay for how far I got. It's just draining to even do this for whatever reason.
I just feel sapped of creative words and thought. This used to come so easy when I was younger. Now I struggle for an original thought of my own. It can be discouraging for sure. Perhaps I'm just outgrowing this hobby, or it's outgrowing me.
It was unbearably hot. The sort of hot that left a person feeling drained and unwilling to move. If the day could have been made into a color, it would look like a thick, honey mustard yellow that favored tones of brown. The cicadas filled the heavy air with their shrill cries, sounding off their alarms in the area with their buzzes and hums that stretched well beyond that place, all but screaming “Stay away.”
A dirt road cut through lines of trees and dried out farmlands, with rocks that threatened to shatter windshields laying in wait for just the right roll of a tire. Crumpled cans lined the sides of the roads, logos faded against wet, soggy newspapers and magazines that pressed their weight into soft sand. The scattered trash layered in such a way to show how many days, months and years each different item sat, gathering up rainwater and mud, creating sour breeding grounds for cockroaches and earwigs to multiply and disperse.
This country road wound deep into evergreen trees that looked dead and ready to collapse, bark rotting and moss covering the branches that did still have leaves. A fence with round wooden posts rooted into the ground every five feet or so, joined by thin, rusty chicken wire that bent inward and warped outward lined the space between the road and the woods. The fence, outdated and unattended to, became swallowed by thistled bushes and cacti that intended to reclaim the territory, making it far more difficult to see where the fence line ended and the forked turn that hugged a sunken and tilted mailbox, with peeling numbers “5651,” veered right.
A shorter dirt road, made of what locals called “sugar-sand,” dipped low on either side, beneath the weeds that grew on top of the mound in the center of the path, sure to hit any underside of a car, truck or van, sounding like hail falling from the sky, but landing under the vehicle instead. It twisted down a quarter of a mile to the heart of the property. Dried up Sandburs and sneaky, Spiny Sowthistle threatened anyone foolish enough to walk the open yard barefoot to the right of the road where a different, more hidden trail zagged over a small hill, down into a pit, then back up beside what looked like an old abandoned workshop with broken windows at the very top of the structure that was wrapped in corrugated tin panels and topped with a metal roof. That place, untouched for years, housed weeds like Crabgrass and Foxtails that climbed up to a man’s hip. It was enough to distract from the spectacle that was the dilapidated trailer home that sat across the way from the shop. Divided by the driveway and swallowed by invading plant life, the two buildings sat independent of one another.

So today my dad was buried up in Mass. at a family grave site. I thought that I'd gotten past the pain of it all, but I sort of wish my Aunt wouldn't update us with information.
We had our own service earlier in April. Our generation can't exactly just pack up and take a trip to Boston whenever we feel like. We have bills, responsibilities. It's frustrating that they know a different world than us with all of these privileges we'll simply never have. Is it worse because father's day is tomorrow? Am I supposed to feel happy about it all or something? Relieved? I don't. Not really.
I don't really feel like I have anyone to talk to anymore. I've felt pretty isolated for a while. It's whatever though. I'm just keeping my head down and enjoying what writing I do have. Being social doesn't make much sense when it just feels like you don't belong anyway.
We're mostly moved into the new place. I like it here. We still have a lot of work that has to be done, but I can leave work and spend my lunch break at home with these crazy kittens and that's nice.
I'll probably keep my art thread closed for a while. The office and main computer stuff isn't even setup yet. I want to get settled in more before I open up again. Fortunately Fruit makes amazing pieces and is used to being the only designer that's active. Fruit is good people.

I totally relate to that feeling of not belonging. There is so many days where I wake up and feel as though everyone I interact with doesn't like me or that I'd upset them. Regardless though, please never hesitate to reach out to me if you want someone to talk to or vent at. We all deserve that, and besides, this bitch is your friend and you totally belong in her DMs c:

Hey, I'm so sorry to hear this. I just came across this cause (might as well admit it, but hey I'm unapologetic about it) I was snooping around on your profile and saw this in your postings. I'm late to it, but I hope you're doing better now?
Its not easy to lose a part of your family and adulting isn't exactly relieving either.
I'm here if you feel like talking or venting, I genuinely mean this. I can definitely, in the least, lend an ear to hear you out, so if you feel like talking to someone when you're lost in the darkness, you can probably find me sitting under the "shade" of the pine in the darkness. I suppose the better part is that we're, in a way, familiar strangers and that might help if you want to talk about something.

Miranda didn’t start out in Dawn Chorus.
Her career began in Miami-Dade where she worked as a Medical Examiner alongside officers at, typically, unsightly crime scenes. While it might seem unusual to be drawn toward the mysteries shrouding the afterlife, Miranda wasn’t one to shy away from the deaths that needed solving. However, as time progressed, Miranda started having reactions she couldn’t quite explain, such as the nervous scratching at her arms in her sleep, or the feeling of being constantly watched when nobody else was around.

It was under her pay grade and not the career she’d schooled for, but after lengthy chats on the phone with her therapist, and a nagging feeling like she needed to stay, she took the job and moved out of Florida.
Most days, all she needs to do is autopsy a body— dress or cremate— then hold quiet funeral services for the grieving families. However, if the local law enforcement needs her help, she’s more than happy to assist in providing the cause of death.
Miranda still chats with her therapist, Dr. White, finding that a good video call is far better than starting all over with someone new. The nervous scratchings and sense of not being alone in the room haven’t stopped, though they’ve become far less frequent.

General Physical Description: Miranda is close to being all skin and bones (much like her patients, haha), though she’s deceptively strong when it comes to moving limp, dead bodies around. Her arms are fairly toned, but most would never know as she’s almost always wearing blouses with long sleeves, or a lab coat for that matter. In or out of work, Miranda dresses business casual. Her color palette is typically more on the muted side, never one to be too flashy. Even if she had cleavage to show— though she wasn’t blessed with much more than a handful— there’d be no discovering it through the higher collared shirts and necklines she wears. Her standard, resting expression causes her to look unamused, but that’s just her face. Even so, she’s not often found smiling or giggling over whatever town gossip is circulating at the time.

Miranda didn’t start out in Dawn Chorus.
Her career began in Miami-Dade where she worked as a Medical Examiner alongside officers at, typically, unsightly crime scenes. While it might seem unusual to be drawn toward the mysteries shrouding the afterlife, Miranda wasn’t one to shy away from the deaths that needed solving. However, as time progressed, Miranda started having reactions she couldn’t quite explain, such as the nervous scratching at her arms in her sleep, or the feeling of being constantly watched when nobody else was around.
Therapy had become a healthy staple for Miranda after a few years on the job, as it was originally suggested she receive counseling after a vicious murder that happened to a coworker before returning to work. - Since she now lives in the place she used to vacation, Miranda travels elsewhere to take a break from work, an attempt at keeping up a healthy work/life balance. Season two will have her arriving back from vacation.
- Miranda doesn't know it, but she's been experiencing ghosts around her, be it seeing someone in the corner of her eye, only to turn around and find no one there, or the scratching along her arms.
