Heart of Ice (Grave x Unicorn)

Sub-Zero wasn't sure what to say to that. She was obviously ashamed that her realm had been cut off from the outside world.
"Well, Onaga hasn't been the ruler for Outworld for that long. Shao Kahn ruled it for a long time before being overthrown by the Deadly Alliance, who were in turn overthrown by Onaga."
The woman was deliberately avoiding eye contact with him, which made him somewhat self-conscious. It was clear that she was having emotional difficulties.

When she did finally speak, however, her words were powerful. Rhahnos had apparently done something to his Queen, but the woman would not say what. She then claimed that the true murderer of the Queen was a sorcerer named Kvar. Sub-Zero found that entirely believable, as Earthrealm had dealt with evil and treacherous sorcerers before.
"Why would the King's right hand slay his own Queen? Was he doing it for Rhahnos, or was it his own idea?"

"I do not know, but I had to run and accidentally fell into Earthrealm. But I suppose its a good thing, based on what you have said." She sighs, the spell is getting the best of her, but she tries to power through it. "I am grateful for you helping me, but I fear that you have been caught up because of my mistake." She felt bad, guilty even, that she has involved strangers. What is she to do if she was found guilty and thrown back into her realm?

Sub-Zero regarded her words, thinking on them.
"If what you say is true, then we will just have to prove that Kvar is the true murderer. Lord Raiden and I are currently seeking an audience with Rhahnos. If we get one, will you travel with us and help us prove your innocence?"
He realized that asking her to return to the realm she fled from was a lot, but it seemed the only way to truly clear her name. They would also need a friendly guide within that realm, so it seemed a mutually beneficial arrangement.

The woman remain silent for a while, she doesn't seem to be happy about this. "...to be honest, it doesn't matter whether i am innocent or not. What matters is the concern of my realm. It is dying, and it will disappear unless he is dead." She said firmly. "He would still kill me no matter what, or a fate far worse than that. I heard that Lord Onaga was mighty enough to kill a God, that is why I sought him out. Going back is a death sentence..."

Sub-Zero was troubled by this woman's words.
"Well, Lord Raiden is also mighty enough to take on a God, and many of us fought off Shinnok's invasion years ago. If we are with you, Rhahnos will not be able to kill you so easily."
He looked deeply into her eyes.
"We will do what we can to help your realm, as well. Fighting threats in outer realms is something that Earthrealm forces have become accustomed to doing."

"What?" She snaps her head, standing up in disbelief. "Truly? You've defeated an fallen Elder God?" That is unbelievable, she has never heard of such a thing that a mortal defeated an Elder God, that is insanity. "Would you really help? I-I would be very grateful, I would do anything to gain Earthrealm's support!" She gives him a pleading look, she tells the truth when she said she would do anything. "Grandmaster, perhaps I should give you my name before anything else. My name is Vivial, priestess of Brona's Eyes."

"Not by myself, but the combined might of many Earthrealm warriors defeated Shinnok and his minions from the Netherrealm."
She seemed desperate to have Earthrealm's support, though that wasn't a call that Sub-Zero could make on his own.
"Well, Lord Raiden and I are willing to look into the matter. If you have truly been dealt an injustice, we will do what we can to resolve it."
If she was telling the truth, however, it would not be easy to overcome someone with power similar to Raiden. It was possible that they would need back-up on this one.

The woman introduced herself as Vivial, saying that she was a priestess of something called Brona's Eyes.
"I am Kuai Liang, though I usually go by Sub-Zero. What is Brona's Eyes?"
Calling herself a priestess implied that it was some kind of religious organization, though he did not want to make any assumptions.

"I would imagine that it would take many warriors, but still this is an amazing feat. Earthrealm warriors must be really something." She said and is surprised that he is so willing to do something about her situation. "Oh, an old goddess of my realm. She sacrificed her eyes to make the great star and the white stone hang in the nigh sky. She is no longer in the realm of the living, but she looks down in great sadness." Vivial explained. "But the eyes will probably fade along with everything else if his continues."

Sub-Zero smiled slightly.
"Yes, Earthrealm warriors are among the best in existence. The Shaolin's Liu Kang and Kung Lao are perhaps the greatest of us all."
He listened as Vivial explained Brona's importance to their realm and the threat caused to her legacy.
"I will take you to see Lord Raiden. I believe that he should know of what you speak."

Opening the cell, Vivial was let out of confinement. Sub-Zero and two of his acolytes escorted her to the innermost chamber, where Raiden sat patiently.
"Lord Raiden, I present Vivial to you."
Raiden got up and bowed respectfully to her.
"Please, tell Lord Raiden what you have told me."
The floor was then hers as all eyes shifted to Vivial.

Vivial nods, she is nervous about meeting with another God, but this is necessary as she has no other choice. Being let out of her confinement is lucky, and is being taken to Lord Raiden. She does repeat her story, and hopefully he would take it seriously as the Grand Master. "That is my story, my realm is in danger and I need help to save it. I will do whatever it takes."

Raiden listened to Vivial's story with a neutral expression on his face. His eyes, shining white in the ways of the gods, were also impossible to read. After thinking over her story, he nodded.
"It seems that this matter bears investigation. If your story is true, the wrong person is to be executed for a murder. I believe that I should travel to Tharasis with a small group of Earthrealm warriors and try to prevent this injustice."

Sub-Zero was pleased to hear this.
"Should I contact Johnny Cage and Major Blade?"
"Yes, and also Kung Lao. The six of us will travel to Tharasis, whether Lord Rhahnos likes it or not."
Raiden was only sorry that Liu Kang was no longer alive to journey with them. His strength and sense of justice would have been invaluable on this mission.

The Lin Kuei Grandmaster turned to Vivial.
"I'm glad that we can help. Hopefully we can clear your name and restore peace to your realm."
Raiden raised his arm and the three were transported in a strike of lightning. They would have to travel to the Wu Shi Academy for Kung Lao, the Special Forces Main Base for Sonya Blade, and Hollywood, California for Johnny Cage. With these powerful warriors on their side, they would hopefully be able to stand up to the forces of Kvar, or even Rhahnos himself.

"Thank you for your help, but it is most important that my realm lives rather than my own safety at this point." She said, but she doesn't get the chance of saying more when they are suddenly teleport by lightening. It struck the ground right at the open front gates of their first destination. By the time she realized that they are at a different place, she didn't even realized that they have even moved, it is a strange thing. "Ah..." She looks around. "Where are we?"

Raiden turned to Vivial.
"This is the Wu Shi Academy, home of the Shaolin order. The Mortal Kombat Champion Liu Kang and his trusted partner Kung Lao were trained here. Of all the factions involved in Earthrealm's defense, I have the closest ties to the Shaolin."
Heading past the giant entrance gate, they began moving toward the innermost part of the compound. As they did, they passed by a memorial to Liu Kang, who had been murdered in a dishonorable two-on-one attack by the Deadly Alliance.

When they reached the main temple, the senior monks greeted Raiden with respect and honor. They went inside and found Kung Lao doing his katas, which was how he kept his skills sharp.
"Kung Lao, I must speak with you right away."
Kung Lao stopped and bowed to him.
"What is it, Lord Raiden?"
Vivial was asked to tell her story to him.

After the telling was over, Kung Lao looked contemplative.
"So it is not just Outworld and the Netherrealm that pose a threat to Earthrealm now. I can only hope that this Rhahnos is more reasonable than Shinnok."
With Kung Lao on board, they would now travel to the Special Forces Main Base. Vivial was instructed to let Raiden do the talking, as the military was a lot stricter on decorum and threat assessment than the Shaolin. In a flash of lightning, they began traveling miles to that location.

She nods as she follows them all around the academy and even come across the memorial of Liu Kang. She stops to look for a few seconds before she kept moving to meet with Kung Lao. The next stop is meeting with Sonya Blade, the Special Forces is on the side of protecting Earthrealm, and she is the representative. The bolt truck the grounds of the base, and Sonya is right there to greet them.

"Lord Raiden, what brings you to my neck of the woods?" She can see that he is not alone either. "Grandmaster, Kung Lao, and..." There is a new face, and she suspects that something is wrong.

I hope you dont mind me taking Sonya, if so, i can give her to you.

(Sonya is all yours, I don't mind.)

Raiden greeted Sonya Blade warmly once he saw her. The two had a friendship spanning back to the first Mortal Kombat tournament of this age, when Liu Kang defeated Shang Tsung to protect Earthrealm. Her puzzlement over the new face with them was understandable, so Raiden gave her the same condensed story that he gave Kung Lao.
"We are going to an unknown realm this time and I am unsure if its guardian deity will be with us or against us. Vivial is an ally from that realm and will help guide us."
It was at this moment that Jackson Briggs, nicknamed Jax, appeared.

"Raiden, what's going on?"
Jax was Sonya's superior, but also a friend to everyone there. After he was filled in, he turned to Sonya.
"I give you leave to go help Raiden and the allies of the Special Forces. Outworld and the Netherrealm have been quiet lately, so we should be able to handle things here."
After warm thanks and wishes, Jax returned to the Main Base.

Raiden turned to his squad.
"We just need to get Johnny Cage now. He should be in Hollywood filming his latest Ninja Mime movie."
When not protecting Earthrealm from danger, Cage was a popular action movie star that had a long filmography under his belt. Although he could be full of himself and brash at times, he had also proven a dedicated and loyal protector of the realm. With a single lightning strike, they began traveling several miles to the movie capital of the United States.

"Okay, fine. I'll do it, as long as-" Sonya groans as they mention Johnny Cage being involved. "Johnny..." What can she do? He is a good warrior, but he is a loudmouth fool. She suppose that it cannot be helped though, they need as much allies as possible, but she wonders if it is worth it to transfer the best warriors into another realm, leaving the Earth defenseless. They disappeared to reach where Johnny Cage is located, and it is a flashy and loud place to be. Vivial had to cover her ears as the loud noises and full of life.

The strangely dressed guests were hardly noticed within the club. It wasn't hard to find Johnny, since he was the center of attention in a back table area. They approached and were stopped by two burly bodyguards.
"This is a private area. Please leave."
Before they could respond, Johnny noticed them.

"Hey, Raiden! It's good to see you."
Making a motion with his hand, the bodyguards stepped aside and let them through.
"What kind of champagne do you like?"
"There is no time for that, Johnny Cage. I am here to collect you for an important errand."

Johnny sighed audibly.
"I just knew you were going to say that."
He turned to the ladies around him.
"Ladies, could you give us a moment, please?"
They pouted but got up and left without a word. Johnny took off his sunglasses and looked more serious than the initial goofball he seemed.

"Raiden, I just signed a movie deal to do Ninja Mime 2. I have a tight filming schedule. This is no time to go to another realm."
Raiden gestured for Vivial to come forward. The sight of the beautiful blonde made him raise his eyebrows a little.
"Vivial, tell him your story."

Vivial isn't used to such chaos like this, the flashing light and loud music is making her senses buzz. Without even knowing it, she held onto the grandmaster for dear life as they wade through various people whom are dressed in weird attire. This Johnny Cage doesn't seem like a guy that takes things seriously, but if he is a capable then he must be someone special. She does approach the man, and explained her story, that her realm is on the brink of annihilation and needs help to save it.

Johnny listened to her story and sighed.
"Well, if it's like that..."
He stood up.
"...Alright, I'll go."
Raiden nodded and teleported them to a portal near the Wu Shi Academy.
"Vivial, you'll have to activate the portal to your world."

After returning to to the academy, Vivial looks around and asked to create the portal to her realm. "I would do so, but it will take some time. Realm Travel doesn't come easy to my people, not anymore." She explains. "Besides, it is my second time...my realm barely had any natural essence as it is to get to Outworld. Earthrealm is full of life, but it would still take some time." She said, as she can feel that this realm's essence is flowing through her, kind of making her feel envious. Unless they have plan, she will try her best. "I hope it wouldn't be a problem, i am trying my best."

Raiden nodded.
"That is all we ask you to do, Vivial."
Sub-Zero approached her.
"Is there anything we can do to help you? Something that will make this easier?"
He didn't really understand interrealm travel, but he knew that this mission was too vital not to complete."

"Help? Hm, maybe if I could borrow essence from living lifeforms. This will not hurt, or damaging, it is the pulse of living things and realms give of from their souls. Could I borrow yours?" She asked the grand master. If he gave permission to do so, she would move closer and whether he is wearing, she would give him a kiss as she takes his essence into her body. She pulls back after that, and she shivers a bit as his essence is cold.

Sub-Zero listened as Vivial explained that she needed essence from living lifeforms to help create the portal to her world. When she asked if she could borrow from him, he nodded.
"If it will help, yes."
He was surprised when she extracted the essence from him in a kiss. Her lips had a softness to them that he had never felt before. Johnny Cage stepped forward.

"Hey, baby, if you need any more essence, I'm game."
Sonya gave him a look that caused him to back off a bit.
"What? I'm just trying to help."
Sub-Zero turned to Vivial.
"So what happens now?"

Vivial turns to Johnny, then she shook her head. "No thank you, I have all that that need." She missed what he was implying as she turns away from the others as she tries to concentrate.

Sonya gives him the death stare. "Behave, you horndog, or i'll knock you into next week." She warns him. Vivial closed her eyes as she tries to find Tharasis as a focal point, and she found it even though it is a fading star. A portal appears before them, making her feel tired for opening it.

"T-There is it, enter before it disappears..." She urges them to go inside while it remains.

When the portal opened, Sub-Zero supported Vivial as she seemed tired.
"Let's go," Raiden said.
Sub-Zero took Vivial in first, with the rest following shortly afterward. When they arrived, they were in awe of the new world not seen by outsiders for many years.
"So this is Tharasis," Raiden said.
The rest were too stunned to speak.
