"The Kings of the land bow only to us god. They want to make sure they dont get destroyed along with their people." A mighty voice told him a long time ago; when he was but a chick. "If we do not show our might as a god or a goddess they will hunt us down. "Though some still try, they are feeble." This was his father as he stood perched on the dial in the front of the room.

This chick was surrounded by many other chicks...some of them didn't look like him at all. Too many limbs, two head, different tails... His father was a god of sorts.... but he kept every gift that the creatures below sent to his kingdom. Most of the time it was woman... These chicks were father by him and many of the 'gifts' that resided in the lower parts of the house... in all stages of pregnancy as this 'god' kept his harem well stocked with new lives.
This set of chicks didn't stay long in this room as he sent them out in to a pit. "To take the throne, one must top." he told them and dropped child sized weapons in and sat back to watch. When the arena was littered in bodies and two wounded child remained; the 'god' spoke again. "Good enough." and a fluttered wrist had the remaining two children picked up and broken apart. One a female that he sent to his harem.... the other a male that was swept away and washed up.....
-----

"You summoned?" came a calm but fierce tone announced his arrival as the once chick stood before the 'god'- now ailing with age.
"Yes." and though he was not his once grand feathered self- this bird god stood up off his throne. "Begin yours." he ordered as he gestured to the muted woman that had been attending to him.
"No. Not with these." the voice spoke and was given a glare.
"Then conquer your own town and get your own."
A silent head lowered in a yes and the younger 'god' left the room.
---

It only took a few days to get through a screening and the harpy, now hidden in a human disguise, was a soldier and was easily the better of this small group of humans...
The years flickered by to the beast and he had his own territory in this base camp, no partners and that was fine, he wasn't like his father. Two people knew his form... and they didnt dare try to do anything about it..

"Hunter." The word held a click, old remains of his true tongue as it was still hard to form this speech. Said soldier looked up from his desk. "We need more recruits... they keep jumping off the ledges." and the man nodded and went back to his papers..

"So this is the infamous team that keeps losing its soldiers." a feminine voice spoke as a woman walked into the building. She wore the typical clothing of a soldier although the patch that was on her uniform stated that she was from a different unit. Although that would be replaced soon enough, considering she had been sent there to become apart of this unit as their sniper.

Blaire Anderson had been apart of the army for a few years now. And for the first year and a half it had been incredibly difficult to hide the fact that she was a woman from her team. Although something had ended up happening, and her true identity had been revealed. For a while her own team tried to hide it from their superiors but in the end, she was the one who had said fuck it. She wasn't going to hide it anymore.

Despite the fact that she was a woman, it wasn't as though she was a burden on her team. She carried her own weight easily enough. And her ability as a marksman was something almost out of the world. It was rare that she missed her target; if she wasn't going for the fatal kill shot, she was going for the shots that would cripple a person for a while. The only thing that she struggled with was her hand to hand, although that was only if the person outweighed her, or that had been the struggle anyways. Thanks to some of the supernaturals from one of her old teams, she had learned a few ways to adapt to that, to use their weight against them. To use her opponents own strength against them.

"Blaire Anderson. I was sent to your unit from another unit. As of today, I am the sniper on your team." Blaire spoke as she was handing over the letter from the higher ups.

There was a moment of quiet thought from the males in the room; Hunter even looking up; broken by quiet words- "Welcome, Miss Blaire." the male took the letter with a gentle tug and set it on the top of his pile before speaking again. "We weren't aware of your coming, as we just lost another member that would have needed to be replaced two days ago." A hand was up quickly to press against the other males arm when he stepped forward, effectively keeping his older companion away from the female. "This is General Adam Ferth and I would please stand at attention, officer." The younger male let free the beast he knew was under the human skin with a shifting of the hand. He might have been the commanding officer but in a huff the bird was a rude creature.
"Soldier." The word seemed... foreign to the mans mouth as he stood straight to and stepped by the hand. "Rank. Old unit. Skills." these too didnt sound proper to this man.

He had been told by Hunter many times to not loose his cool with the new recruits... most of the time he kept to that... and these current deaths were not his fault. They were sirened over the only pass through the patrol canyon nearby this base. He'd lost more solider on home turf then in actual battle at this point with what was infecting the area.

Blaire was just chuckling before she spoke, "We all know that messages haven't been good about being passed around, not with the newer higher ups. Technically I was suppose to be arriving tomorrow but things don't always go as planned." With that she was giving a shrug before she was looking towards Adam her eyes just watching him for a moment in time. And soon enough he was speaking and inquiring about her rank, her old unit, and her skills.

"I am a captain and lately I haven't been apart of a unit, I have been training the latest batches of snipers, trying to get them up to par. I am a highly proficient marksman, rarely missing my target." Blaire spoke after a moment in time although she did think about skills for a moment in time before she was commenting, "I suppose one of my more unique skills is the fact that I am able to remember anything that I read or hear, which also me to recall the information later on."

This also meant that she had a knack for spewing off some completely random "did you know" facts. After all she was a fan of knowledge as well, and loved to learn more about everything. At that point in time her mind was a huge library with a collection of completely random books, and if this library were a real thing it would be completely organized. Everything had its place.

Hunter was about ready to say a few things but the bird held out his 'hand'. "A good timing. You won't be training now, and you will be temporarily stripped of Captain for a week." Adam was sure that Hunter had words to add to this but he continued in a strong but well mannered way. "On the unofficial sense, we need to make sure you are a fit, and that cant be done when you out rank your teammates." there was no hated in the tone that told her this; he held nothing against her race or gender. "We all are going to try and get through the canyon, or destroy the sirens. Either one before you get it back."
He was calmer then the human behind him had ever seen him... and that was.... odd... The fighting harpy king of this base.... was calm? The human had seen him interact with other females before and never was he this 'civil' with others... even other generals....
"General...."
"Im fine, Hunter. Tell the men to get in line with their gear."

Blaire was just looking over before she was shrugging then spoke, "I was getting bored with training. I jumped at the offer of actually joining a team that was active." Nope she wasn't overly hurt by the fact that she had been temporarily been stripped of her Captain rank, after all it wouldn't last forever. She was however raising an eyebrow at the mention of getting through the canyon or destroying the sirens.
"Sirens. Like the things that try and lure people to their deaths in the ocean?" she questioned after a moment in time, although she was running her hand through her hair. Nope she was totally prepared for that. One of those luxuries of being a woman, the sirens abilities didn't affect her. Half the time their singing just gave her a headache, she found it annoying more so than anything else.
She was just listening to whatever else that they had to say while she was pulling her hair up into a tight ponytail so that it didn't get in her way. Yeah when she had first started, she had shaved her head. But after her true gender at come out, she had decided that she was going to let her grow out. And that is exactly what she had done, regardless of what some of the others had to say.
It didn't hinder her at all, and it made recon missions so much easier at times. Especially if she was going undercover. Throw on a skintight dress and some heels, and she basically had access to anywhere.

Hand shake not taken, the bird closed his fist and lowered the arm- still a calm mode... Again, odd to see that from the creature that tore off an older generals head for speaking out of turn; Hunter still wasn't sure how the bird got away with that one with it found on his night stand.
The creature took trophies from hunts and battles- the amount of stuff that Hunter has stored for the Harpy from only working in this base 4 years is staggering... why didn’t he leave? Why didn’t he tell on this beast? Eh... it intrigued him to see how far this creature would be able to lead his ‘kingdom’. He had not seen the male ever try to continue what he told him about his father; that’s a lot of trust right there; but here he was...
Civil.
“Miss officer. Your old unit... just an inquiry but have you ever noticed...” but Hunter paused as both he and the harpy looked behind the new soldier. “Damn it Keebs!” And his sentence forgotten as he raced out the door after a man screaming from face sized bees.
“And another one down...”

Blaire was just looking towards Hunter when he started to ask his question, although it was left unasked when there was screaming in the background which had her turning around. It wasn't long before she was following after them, just looking to see what had caused the screaming. Oh those were some large bees. Perfect for target practice.
"What the hell are these bees on to get that big....?" she questioned with a faint mumble although she was just shaking her head, truly not wanting to know the answer to that.

"You passed through the gate on your way in, correct. That is a ward, keeps things in a dimension bubble." The general in him looked proud to be watching the mess that was the face sized bees. Tarth came from out of the bubble and in to it... the bubble is his kingdom in a sense and the canyon needed to be cleansed before he could add it in to the bubbled zone. These bees were a protector of the powering generator here- natural heat derived from the creatures and their hive- how ever; Keep must have forgotten to sing them a song or at least keep singing to keep them chilled out while he fixed a part down there. "We will fix his mess first, we need the generator they are." the bird spoke and gesture the direction that the screaming man came from.
There was a small decaying swarm of crystalline bodies still hovering about the trail he led the officer down. Why he wasn't worked up about her? Simple. Smelled nice. Other people had an angry scent to the- the killing scent- she had that but the scent of... pride for others came more strongly. Holding a hidden claw to his ear piece and he spoke and walked; "Hunter, what was Keef trying to fix at the hive?" A shaky response and the harpy nodded though the man on the other end couldn't see. "Begin a song the second you see the green and orange massive hive. Any will do, humming and cooing works too as long as you dont stop." Cooing? Did he mean whistling?

Blaire was nodding her head for a moment in time and soon enough she had found herself following after the man, simply looking around as she looked around. This place was rather strange compared to other places, but there was something majestic about it all at once. She was raising an eyebrow though at the mention of fixing the mess that the screaming man had made.
Oh what kind of mess would that mean?
Now she was almost curious what kind of mess she hadn't gotten herself into in general.
She was raising an eyebrow at the mention of beginning a song the second that one saw massive hive. Humming or cooing worked too as long as one didn't stop. Well this was just turning out to be more and more interesting. Oh songs, now that was something that she could definitely help out with. Singing was an enjoyable pastime, sometimes anyways.

There was a clear and loud humming the further the man moved away from the base and towards the hive, and he even started a low clicking and humming noise well before the hive and its enormity came in to view. How something so massive was hidden from the entrance one didnt know, but the massive semi truck sized hive lay embedded in the side of a building- heat from where they stood already quite notable.
Gesturing with the 'hand' he had made in this form, he led her to the side of the structure and past bees slowly growing in size. The ones that chased Keef had probably been sent to watch him while he worked- young brood.. but still filled with venom. Carth held the same hand out as larger bees came to inspect the new songs. Their crystalline body glittered gold in some light and others of its kind glittered in reds, or greens.
They didnt seem to match the garish green combs of their own making or the vivid orange 'honey' oozing from said combs. Tucking hands under his arms and looking to the side at her until she did the same, Carth touched none of these in the open hives as the bees let them pass- even going so far to touch faces with their antennae before moving on. No, they didnt need to fear the bees as long as some singing was heard as it resonated in the hive to calm them. Only one person had entered here just by talking to the bees but that was 30 years ago and had been shot in the head... Oh the bees got pissed at that shooter and the whole hive, even the rainbow shaded car size queen was avenging that mans death..... Oh boy that shooter wasnt remotely recognized any more even as a pile of blood and goo......

Blaire followed after him although the moment that she did see the hive, she was actually singing softly. Welsh hymns that her mother had taught her long ago. Melodic yet haunting all at once. Yet despite that haunting tone to the singing, there was something majestic about it. Something that sent chills down ones spine.
And Blaire was confident in her singing abilities, especially when it came to these particular hymns and lullabies. After all she had use to sing them to her younger sister all the time, at least until she had passed away. Her sister had been born with a very weak immune system, and a couple of years ago she had ended up getting pneumonia. Things only went downhill from there. Blaire had spent almost every day in the hospital with her, just singing to her, and reassuring her that she wasn't ever going to be alone.
Out of the corner of her eye she could see the General tucking his hands away which had her just sliding them into her pockets as she continued after him, not once breaking stride. Not once did her voice falter as she sang softly.

There was a humming through the hive that wasn't them, several arm length bees were gathered around a blue and gold bee, a princess who would grow in to her rainbow sheen when she was older. She was gathering her first colony together and probably leave when they did- an escort to the world. Carth bowed low to her just fo the fun of seeing them bow in the tune of the humming, her rainbow queen mother would be the one they needed to be wary of, deep on the other side of the truck and building they had claimed. Now here was where the harpy took caution; he knew his sized was 'shrunk' in his human form, but he was still a tall beast under the glamour- a crack in the trucks wall was too small for him but he pointed out the gap for her while he went on deeper, toward the place he could fit.

Blaire just looked around as she walked along although at some point in time she had switched from verbally singing one of the many hymns that she knew to humming a lullaby. Flawlessly switching, there not seeming to be a break between the singing and humming. As though that had been apart of the song itself. It wasn't long before she was watching Adam seem to gesture to a gap in the truck that she could slip through. Although she was debating on if she was wanting to follow after him or go through the gap.
In the end she did end up just sliding through the gap, just looking around at all of the bees that were around her. They were quite majestic up close, in particular that princess. A beautiful blue and gold color. Not something that you would ever see on an actual bee. She was just gazing around as she continued to walk around a bit, taking care not to cause any harm to anything within this hive.

A small crunch under the harpy's claws had many of the green and gold bees vibrating and looking at him; a yet to be moved carcass under the edge of his 'boot'. The General didnt look happy at the noise but he picked up the red bee and held it calmly in his arm. The action calmed the angered beating of the wings as he passed them quietly and joining back with the new recruit. The hum he gave out was softer then before, a repeating tune that he easily remembered- he was sad about the bee, they needed them to survive here. Even seeing a new princess was a rare thing.
Pointing up the set of cleared stairs, the male climbed a few of them at a time with the bee in his arm; he then pointed to a crank left at a box. They only needed to turn it to keep the machine in working order today- but Keef left it undone. She would need to with his arm full of bee.

Blaire followed after the male just gazing around as she did so, humming softly. Although it wasn't long before they seemed to be coming up to what appeared to be a box, and next to it was a crank. It was being gestured to by Adam, who currently had his arms full with a bee. Alright, turning the crank it seemed. With that she was going over and grabbing onto the crank so that she could turn it. Not that she really knew what was going to happen, or really what this place was all about. It had seemed important nonetheless though.

A hiss from some where on the other side of the machine and a new hum began. There seemed to be a synced sigh of relief from the bees as many began to move faster. Ah a vent and fan system that gets cleaned of its comb and honey every so often made the hive cooler and happier. Still humming as he nodded his head in a good job way; the harpy led the way out- she through the crack and he with the bee through the front.
The entrance to the hive was still as he brought the small red bee out and away from the construct. Behind the new girl was the blue and gold princess with a small swarm of her sisters and drone partners... they touched their antenna to the fallen sister before flying off.
Carth still had never stopped his hum as the approached and as he left the site of the hive.

Blaire just listened to the sound around her and was soon enough following after him so that they could get out of the place, just gazing around as she walked along. Never once did the humming stop from her, at least not until she was given some kind of indication that it was safe. She didn't know where it was safe, and where it wasn't safe. It was all on Adam to let her know, at least until she figured it out on her own anyways. Which wasn't going to take overly long at all. Some hair was brushed out of her face and eventually it seemed like they were out of the hive. Well that had been an adventure... although she wasn't sure how she felt about the giant ass bees.

Claws tucked the bee closer as he led the new recruit over towards the building they left from. Hunter back at his office and he stood quickly when he brought back the red beast. "She needs a burial, they already said their goodbye to her." he spoke with the unsure tone. "Anderson kept up the gears and song; she can stay. We need to go get the canyon. How soon?"
Hunter's hands didnt touch the bee but he began pulling paper out of the way for the big beast to put her down by. "I'm glad you think she pulled through with the bees, Adam. As for the move on the canyon... not for a few days... Look- don't growl at me; they have to be prepare to fight the sirens too. We have a missing piece with a lady now but they still are men..." When the fallen bee was placed down, the other soldier patted the poor things head with a frown on his features. "Adam, just... take her on a tour.... I'll get back to you by the end of the sky cycle."

Blaire stopped humming after a while and was merely strolling into the building after Adam, and just looking towards Hunter, who was getting to his feet rather quickly as soon as they walked in. She was however turning her attention towards the conversation at hand, something about the canyon and dealing with sirens. Not that she was as concerned about them, although there seemed to be some concern about a missing piece with a lady, and something about them still being men. She was however giving a faint smile before she was speaking, "For dealing with the sirens sometimes one needs to fight fire with fire. They use their singing to lure their victim towards them. You use singing to keep the bees calm. Perhaps.... Using that humming, that singing, as something to keep ones focus off of the siren's song." With that she was actually turning to walk outside of the building for the time being, stretching a bit and just taking everything in.

Both men looked at each other a second before Adam continued to follow the young lady at his services. "Well done, Anderson. Follow." he spoke as gestured with a come on hand and continued on through the base- it was small compared to main HQ but they had a lot of traffic through here for training. Gym, inside and out, courses, pools... but what the General seemed proud of with touring was the large green house where some of the bees were pollinating. Here there were speakers through out the place to give off some nice classical tunes to keep them from attacking passerbyers. "This is one of my favorite places, feels like home." he offered a small bit of self information as a bee passed under his 'wing'. "We train until Hunter says we can go in the canyon; we do by the books.." he might be king of the bubble but he still had to make sure he didnt die.

Blaire just looked around as she followed after him on the tour. Not a large place but big enough where if you didn't know where you were going, you would probably get a bit confused. She was just raising an eyebrow at the mention of training until Hunters says that they could go into the canyon. This had her questioning, "Why are we needing to go to the canyon?" She was looking at the obstacle course that was outside and watching a few people as they went through it.

"Thought you caught that conversation already? We have a bunch of sirens to get rid of. Not native to this part of the island and they are taking a lot of our men." he had followed her line of sight after a while to see her watching the soldiers run the course. He himself had never 'run' it, his wings took him over a lot of the stuff as his glamoured form went through it. He did train though, he could climb with his claws and he was quite good with tight places and hight place... the course was just... not exciting for him to stretch his abilities.
And as a leading general here... he never really was required to need to show off that side of him.
"Anderson, we dont have to continue the tour if you want to run that." hand gestured out once more to give her a clear permission to run the thing. She arrived at a down day; other than patrols, the men have the whole day as free time. Which is why he didnt yell Keef's ear off for the fail or stop Hunter from being inside all day.
Tomorrow.... oh goody.

Blaire just looked towards him before she spoke, "I caught onto part of the conversation, but not all of it." Although yeah that definitely did sound like a problem which had her giving a faint chuckle before she was commenting that it wouldn't be too much of an issue to handle the sirens at that point in time. With that she was glancing towards him when he was making a comment that she could run the course if she was really wanting to, that they could essentially skip the tour.
This had her smiling before she was shaking her head before she spoke, "No we can finish the tour, at least then I'll know where I'm going if a location is stated. For the most part anyways." She could always run the course later, if she so decided to do that anyways. She was questioning how many were actually in his group.

The beast nodded his head and continued with only a few more places before stopping at the barracks... where he hissed. Many men in the place were lounging, they were allowed today, but to see the sorry state that where they slept was kept in.. wasn't a happy bird. "Stay out, right here." An order as he pointed by the door- like a guard- and slapped a call button that the crew had set up. Was supposed to alert them from soldier to soldier about incoming generals and the what not... but he was already here and PISSED.
The 20 or so men inside SCRAMBLED to pick up the place as Carth watch his soldier and when they had straightened it out...enough... they lined up at their beds.
"THIS IS HOW YOU KEEP YOUR ROOMS?! It was like a Stirfry of shit in here!!!!" he screamed from the door way. The foreign like tongue behind the common he was speaking was hidden by his fury.
"Days down are privileges!!!" the harpy was bristling under his glamour, but it still held as he kicked a heavy soldiers trunk back against their bed with enough force it moved the whole bed frame "If this filth is how you are going to keep up something you need to clearly run of of in an emergency then you clearly haven't earned the days off!!!!" A soldier stepped back further near his bed as 'boots' crunched the tiles by his toes.
"DO I NEED TO REMOVE DAYS DOWN FOR THE WHOLE FORT?!"
"SIR NO SIR!"
was their responding cry together as they stamped boots together and stood straighter.
"Barrack E5! You day down is suspended. Get the rest of ALL the barrack to clean up their CRAP in an hour or I WILL. GO!" his wing pointed to the far end of the hall like trailer of a building where another entrance was and the men STREAMED out to get to other building to clean.
"That was NOT the way you were supposed to be greeted.."
