I went straight from XP to 7. I know a lot of people rag on it, but it's still better then Vista (I had to use it on public PCs) and it's functional, it's just a different kind of lay out.

Windows 7, much like a spoon inserted in my eye socket, is a definite improvement over Windows Vista.

I'm personally fine with Vista. Mind you that might have something to do with the fact that my desktop has 8 gigs of ram. ._.;
