When she pointed out her poor choice in footwear Oriane had seen a bright side; Sol was likely to carry her. There was no way that that outcome couldn't be a pleasant one. In the crisp air, Oriane didn't feel cold, perhaps a bit chilly at best. Sol would be warm, oh so warm for her to cuddle into and help chase away the boreal chill from the air. However, Ace it seemed was well prepared for those who were wealthy enough to afford a small piece of paradise within the boughs. Most, she guessed, would appreciate such attention to detail and the consideration it took to be so prepared. Orii herself might have found it charming had she not had a very happy realization that she could have been cradled in her lover's arms.
"Thank you Ace" Her voice was still friendly, though there was the slightest tinge to her tone that hinted that she was not as thrilled as she could have been. For a moment however, that bit of pout was lost as Sol knelt within the snow and undid the straps of her heels. There was something about him being on his knees like that before her that made her blood heat as she breathed in her breath hitching. The feeling could have also been a reaction to his constant teasing with the word wife, but even Oriane could tell that that wasn't it. There was something intimate and definitely arousing as she felt his fingers against her skin, the straps pulled free. The moment was fleeting and as her small feet were slipped into fur lined boots, it vanished all together. The boots themselves were comfortable and a marvel much like Sol’s expanding inventory.
Chuckling as she was drawn into his arms, her own arms snaked around his shoulders, as she was wont to do anytime Sol lifted her into his arms like he did. Set down on the snow covered ground. It was interesting to feel the ground give slightly under her as the snow compressed beneath her feet. Her smile was shy and Oriane decided to test out something. "At least I was not alone in feeling a bit pouty then. Though... I did like you on your knees" her tone had taken a turn into salacious and she blushed lightly. Oriane didn't have a dominant bone in her body, the appeal of him on his knees had not been in that vein either. She couldn't quite put her finger on what had appealed to her so. His gaze traveling up her body? She could picture how in a different place and time, how his eyes might have looked, the gold of his eyes heating with desire. Shivering lightly she cleared her throat.
Rather than continue to stare at Sol, her cheeks flushed from anything but the cold, she looked to the charming scene before them. It was almost magical, the blankets of shimmering white that lay over any surface they were allowed to settle. From the Trees, their branches laden with pristine white snow, bowing slightly under the weight. Sheets of the pleasant white water lay across the roofs like fluffy icing of gingerbread houses. That's what this reminded her of! When she'd been smaller, her mother and father had shared that tradition with her. It hadn't been quite the same as the long standing tradition of earth, for ginger and confectioners sugar were not as easily sourced on their planet. The effect had still been the same. Looking down the pathway between the houses as the breeze blew, a tendril of snow rose and spiraled upwards, taking flight on the breeze. Leaning into Sol, Oriane smiled before slipping her hands into his.
"It's charming." Her voice was soft, dreamy as she recalled other things she could compare to the vision before her. "Like finding myself within a snow globe" Another earthly item; when she'd been small, she'd been interested in earth, humans.. Mostly because of her mother and father. Softly she began to hum. Her parents had never owned a delicate globe filled with water and flurries to settle on an idyllic scene, but she'd fallen asleep many nights to the soft chiming of music from her data pad. The notes that she hummed, shyly were from We Wish You a Merry Christmas. As they crossed the snow behind Ace, she tipped her face up towards Sol. "Do you celebrate Christmas?" The thought drawn from the memories of gingerbread houses and snow globes.
Ace pulled the door open and allowed the couple to enter first. Oriane stepped away from Sol as she looked around what could only be the living room. Such things were not as common to her and she assumed to a point, Sol either. In space, space was precious, funnily enough. Housing often had been utilitarian, comfort and other such pleasantry shaved down to make more room for others or necessities for living. Even in the Spine this held true. Their home had mostly been a square with everything they needed pushed into one area for the most part. This was a room, designed solely for the purpose of gathering. A stone fireplace sat along one wall with a fire crackling merrily in it's hearth. From here Oriane couldn't tell if the flames were real or hologram, but if pressed she would have guessed real. The walls and floors were wood, though there was a difference. Where the floors were polished and fine, the walls were however raw. Beams of wood were used as supports and accents.
Stairs lead upwards and doorways to other parts of the house. Through one doorway Oriane could see a fully functional kitchen and another seemed to be a study of sorts. She could only guess that the bedrooms were above them. Slowly Oriane drifted away from the, heading for the kitchen. Here there was an actual stove and oven, unlike the single burner they had in the Spine. A full refrigerator, an island and covered in marble a bar to one side, where the sink was located. The amount of space offered within it this one home could have easily housed several families from the Spine comfortably.
