You think the weathers cold, Wait till you meet her (me/Hat)

"Asshole hit me in the cut with the butt of his rifle. Doctor said it was okay, just hurts when I move" she said frowning. "The bruise is disgusting, you would not want to see it" she said.

He nodded, sitting beside her.
"I'm glad you are alive to be cursing them." he said softly.

Senka looked at him and said "I must admit, I was quite surprised when you appeared out of the ground" she said smiling a little to her self.

Senka looked at him and smiled a little before she looked down at her hands. This was probably the first time in ages she was dressed in a military attire. She was dressed in a pair of woolen Pjs, soft and warm. She sighed a little and said "Do you remember the time I got really sick, becouse we had been sitting out in the snow for about a week on a mission?" she asked him.

Senka looked at him and said "And when I got back I got influenza so I couldn't even get out of bed for a week, Boris told me afterward that you would come everyday when you thought I was asleep" she said smiling.

He nodded.
"I didn't want Dimitri to be angry with me. So I've always done my best to keep you safe after I met him."

Senka smiled and said " Thanks". She looked down for a moment and said "Whats happening outside, any new orders?"

"Not really. Some other men were hurt and they are in seperate buildings." he said, leaning back and stretching.

He smiled, laying beside her and falling asleep.

And so the weeks passed, one after another. They had light battles with the Germans, but nothing serious. The general time between attacks slowly increased, until it was weeks apart, leaving the base quite relaxed, but also tense to learn what was going on.
Indeed, the next postman was not Boris, but a nameless man who came and went just to deliver. He did not speak or meet any of their eyes as he did his work. He merely apologized when news of death arrived.

Vlad was still waiting for Senka's word. He was not about to give up on it, and in fact was rather optimistic that the time was soon.

Senka sighed to her self as she got dressed into her uniform. She put her hair up in it's usual bun and put her cap on her head. She then walked outside and began to make her way to the mess hall.

There she met up with one of her closest female friend on the base. Her name was Anastasia, but Senka just called her Anna. She sat next to her after she had gotten her food for the morning and said "Morning"

Anna smiled at her and said "Hey, you look heaps better, hope you feel better" she said.

Senka smiled and said " Yeah I do feel better" she said begining to eat slowly.

Anna smiled and said "Oh, I'm so happy for you, I'm glad your okay now" she said. "I didn't like seeing you crying" she said.

Senka looked at her food and said "yeah...I didn't either". She smiled a little and said "Well, How are you anyway?"

Anna smiled and said "I'm okay, haven't been able to do much as of late..." and the conversation would continue for sometime following the same sort of tone, talking about the war missions and other things.

Senka did feel a lot better then a month ago. She'd manage to stop feeling so sad about what had happened. Dmitiri would always have a place in her heart, she would never forget him. She didn't want to shut her self off from anyone else, but she did feel the slightest twinge of guilt at this. she felt like moving on would mean she would forget him...and she didn't want to forget him.

"So you think she's gonna say something soon?" asked Vlad's friend, as they sat across from one another and bounced a rubber ball between them.
"I don't think quite yet. Maybe another two or three weeks... maybe another month." he said, catching the ball and tossing it back.
His friend caught it.
"Are you sure she doesn;t think you lost interest?"
"I'm certain." Vlad said, catching it. "Because I told her, she has to be the one to make the move, not me." he said. "I'm the one who should be worried here, but I know what I feel. In my bones and heart, I know that the issue here isn't me, it's Dimitri."

Senka smiled and once she had finished her meal she stood up and took her tray back tot he front before she walked out of the mess hall. She sat down outside on one of the benches. She would often come to sit and think. She brought out the ring and she looked down at it. She closed her eyes and sighed before she put it back inside her shirt.

"I won't forget you" she said to her self softly, but it was more like she were talking to him.

Vlad smiled and sat beside her soon after.
"Ah, it's so lazy these days..." he said, peeling an apple. He smiled at her as he leaned on the table, looking around. "It's really winter now. I hear that some of our forces are finding frozen tanks out there."

Senka felt him sit next to her. She looked at him and nodded. She looked down for a moment and said "Vladamir...I want to talk to you..." she sad softly.

"What is it about?" he asked softly, hiding his excitement as best he could. "Do you need help tuning your new gun?"

Senka looked at him and said "No...you remember what you said in the hospital before...well...I'm a little afraid..." she said.

Vlad looked into her eyes.
"Listen, don't worry about my feelings. I want you to smile and be happy."

Senka looked at him and nodded and said "I'm afraid that i will forget him..." she said softly. "And then I feel guilty..." she said.

"There's no way I'd let you." he said, taking her hand. "He was my friend. The worst thing that can happen to a man is not death, but oblivion... not being remembered." he said softly.
