The metal-clad hand held the man by his neck, holding his feet just an inch off the ground or so. The man grasped at the claw-like gauntlet as it slowly drained the life out of him. His skin started to go pale, until soon it was whiter then paper and was tossed aside like trash. The female looked down at him and scoffed. "And they call you the best hunter in town?" She questioned, her voice sounding slightly childish, but had a weight of death among it. She waved some hair out of her face, the white strands flowing in the wind. She lifted the sword in her left hand onto her shoulder and started walking once more, her armor making a soft clanging sound.

The human looking being was named Faeren. She had short, shoulder length sheet white hair. Her eyes were as crimson as blood and had the intent of killing in them. She wore an ancient armor, a scarf wreathed beneath it to cover her body. She had a head band, matching her armor, with hair over most of the band, only the forehead part visible. Over her right hand she had a magical gauntlet, one that could drain the life force out of beings as long as dominance was shown to the gauntlet over the being it was draining. The rate at which it did this would take a while, so to effectively kill a person most of their life force must be wasted before starting to drain and it will still take a good amount of time to do so. She carried a long sword in her left hand, one that could be used with two hands, or one if the user was strong enough.

She also had, placed into her left gauntlet, a small fragment of a blade, a crystal. This crystal was a piece of the blade known to few as Soul Edge, and better known to the world as the evil Soul Calibur. She had been given the piece of the blade by a raven, which now rest on the end of her sword she had resting on her shoulder, and would fly around the area when she was fighting. She took pleasure in killing people, but lately it had started to become worthless, and she needed more challenges, and searching for this blade seemed to give promise to her as many of the world's strongest fighters also sought it, which meant she would end up facing them as well. Right now, no one in the country side of the middle-eastern areas was giving her a worthy fight, which was disappointing her.

It had been several months since the human male named Heishiro Kenseth had ventured out on his own, departing from the former knighthood he had grown to appreciate. His reasons were his own, but when one were to tell you that your parents were found dead and your old house you haven't seen in several years was burned to the ground, what more could anyone say to him that would sway anyone differently? Certainly not him, that same person would answer.

But lately, something else had been gnawing at Heishiro's attention as of recently. Apparently, he had begun to hear rumors of some sort of blade named Soul Edge that had been shattered and its pieces were scattered across the various corners of the world. Normally, he had never heard of such a blade, but finding a metallic fragment of the thing which would then flood his mind with so much information about it had changed it. He figured to himself, if he could get his hands on the blade, then perhaps it could be used to find the arsonist and murderer of his family. But then again, he had also heard about its previous wielder Nightmare who used the weapon to collect the souls of the deceased to augment its power. So many questions were building in his mind, but he knew that deep within his heart that those questions would have to wait for a later date.

For now, the fragment was placed into a small pouch that hung off of his belt loop on the right side of his waist. On the left side of it, was his broadsword that had the name, "Silent Moon" engraved on the sheath. His short brown hair flitted about somewhat in the open breeze as he walked alone, the steel-toed boots plodding along on the dirt road while keeping his eyes of dark brown straight ahead of him.

Taking a soft step she looked ahead, her piercing gaze shooting through the forest as best it could. She could sense a strong presence coming her way and wondered if her senses were tricking her again. She looked around and saw a tree she could hide in and leaped up into it. She then waited in the tree for the warrior to come by, which took a little while. She then leaped down with silence and slashed her blade, the warrior reacting quickly and blocking her attack with a shield.

She smirked as the warrior pulled out his blade and swung at her in a sidewards arc. She lifted up her right arm and blocked the swing with her gauntlet, still smirking. Her crimson red eyes looked into the warrior's and slowly she started to initiate her connection with him. Slowly they both fell into a trance that last a better half of two minutes until she pushed back and stood at a ready position. "You aren't worth my time any more. You haven't seen enough of death to challenge me." She said and continued to walk. She knew the warrior would be up set at her challenging him and then dropping the fight in just a moment's time.

Soon he charged her from behind and she spun around, holding her blade at his waist and slashing between the plates of his armor, making a cut across his waist. She then grabbed a piece of his cloth and wiped the blade off her sword. She tossed the cloth on his corpse and set the blade on her shoulder once more. "I told you, you are not worthy to challenge me." She said to the corpse as she left it to rot in the middle of the dirt road.

Heishiro's ears would soon tune to the sound of steel crashing against steel somewhere ahead of him, but the racket would soon end some several minutes later once steel savagely ripped through flesh and bone. This in turn, would cause him to be on his guard, but nevertheless remained undaunted. He had seen his fair share of fighting and each and every time, he would come out the victor simply because he had a strange method that had allowed him to virtually "see" through his opponent's moves and land quick and effective blows that would render them helpless against him. But at the end of each combat segment, he would honor the opponent with a simple nod of his head and left them to think about their mistakes, oftenly leaving them with their lives.

And yet, something about this area he had just walked through had him suspicious. There was a familiar scent of blood and death not far away ahead of him, causing Heishiro's fists to tighten up. It could have been a lot of things, a thief that had gone too far and had become mad with bloodlust, a knight that had gone berserk, or worse. Still, Heishiro did not draw his sword. There wasn't a need for it or at least not just yet, anyway. Only if that threat was coming his way, then that would be the time to act.

After a little while, Faeren caught 'scent' of another warrior. She then sighed and didn't bother hiding with this one, she simply walked on, heading towards the person until the sense got stronger and stronger. She tightened her grip on the handle of her sword and she pulled it down, holding it at her side. She had sensed many people like this before, and they tended to give her much of a good fight, but they had long since disappeared from her sight. She thought they had all died out, and her purpose was gone with them, but now it was evident many still lived.

She watched as the raven following her circled above in the open sky. She walked further until she saw the knight she was sensing. He was wearing white and blue, her blade on his side in its sheath still. "Ah...a true knight, I face now?" She questioned with a childish smirk. "Hmm....me wonders if he wants to play, perhaps?" She questioned, sounding like a child speaking now. The black raven cawed in the sky as she finished her statement, circling around over just her.

Her crimson eyes had a shine, her magic working as she gazed towards his eyes. He was too far to grasp in her gaze, but she was preparing it for when she got close enough to him. The gaze would paralyze both people taking part in it, the user and the victim, and the user would be able to 'see' the death the victim had in their life, of the people around them and the people they slayed. The victim would also gain some knowledge from this, they would be able to sense how much of a killer Faeren was, and she was nearly on par with the deadly Nightmare.

The acrid smell of blood and death would soon become more and more prevalent with each passing step that Heishiro took, soon stopping in his tracks a moment later. Someone died here not more than a few moments ago. A brutal death at that. He thought as he glanced around, soon becoming aware of another presence here. Whoever or whatever it was, had to bear some kind of mentality to do such a thing. For what, wasn't known to him.

Heishiro's stomach would become unsettled, getting the feeling that someone was watching him from a distance. This familiar feeling had stuck with him wherever he went and it had saved his life on more than one occasion. Very cautiously, he brought a hand back to loosen the strap that kept Silent Moon from sliding around oddly in the sheath and readied himself for a high-speed quickdraw. Even his steps from there onward would soon become purposefully slow as his ears began to tune themselves to listen for even the slightest bit of sound that emanated anywhere.

As Heishiro kept walking though, something would really get his attention. Not far ahead of him, there was a young woman that was clad in truly bizarre colored armor, far different than anything he was normally used to seeing on war-torn generals. Just who in the devil was she, and what was she doing way out here?

She smirked as the male came more into view, his weapon drawn. "Yes, that is him." She said, looking up at the raven. She then looked back down, his armor that of a slightly weathered warrior. "He looks he can do nicely, lets see what his soul will say though." She said and made a dash for her new enemy. She would swing her sword to draw the attention of his blade and then hold him in a stalemate as she entered her gaze to his.

If the first strike didn't work she would try it again until she got him to hold still. She needed to make eye contact and would get it if need be, or she would pry the information from him by contact. If she couldn't keep eye contact long enough to initiate her Soul Gaze, she would remove her gauntlet and grab a piece of his cloth, his sword, or something of his, and with that instant contact would come some form of information she would need.

Something told Heishiro that whatever thought he had about that woman just now proved to be correct and in more ways than one. When he saw that flash of steel, his heart began to race, watching as she was coming closer and closer. He then slid a foot back and concentrated his eyes on the blade that was coming his way, thusly sending his adrenaline through the roof.

At that instant, Heishiro could "see" how the blade was coming at him, despite it was most definitely a feint. Quickly glancing over to her other hand, it looked as if she was going to try to make a grab on him. For what purpose wasn't entirely known to him, but the one thing he knew he needed to do quickly was to put up a defense of some kind!

Reacting purely on instinct, Heishiro stayed still for maybe a few seconds, unfazed by the feint before suddenly lashing out at her to grab her by her swordhand and took her down with an over-the-shoulder throw, dropping her straight to the ground then drew Silent Moon out, point the tip of the blade down at her with a repulsed look on his face.

"Who are you?" Heishiro demanded in a calm voice, despite his eyes held a wild gleam in them.

The sound of a grunt and a cough was heard as her body hit the ground. She looked up at him, seeing the blade end pointed at her. She followed it up and looked to his gaze. This wasn't how she normally planed on getting her eye contact she needed, but it worked all the same. Her eyes shown softly as she connected with his gaze, looking into the deaths of his life. She could sense family lose, and then could sense accidental killings. This man was a great fighter, but the most death he had in his life was either by accident or he had no other choice in the matter.

He is a kind hearted killer. He never tries to take life, but yet he has still. Why does he do that? She questioned in her mind once the trance wore off on both of them. To the male, it would feel like not even a second went by, but he would get a slight disorientation from it. "Why don't you slay your enemies?" She questioned, her voice more serious now than when she first saw him. "You are obviously stronger than them, why spare their lives?" She question, puzzled by his ways.

It felt strange, but the gaze that woman had seemed to unsettle him slightly, but it didn't really faze him all that much. Rather, he kept the blade pointed down at her with a vindictive look on his face. Even the way she spoke to him seemed to unsettle him, almost as if she could read his mind somehow.

"What are you talking about?" Heishiro asked, narrowing his eyes at her as he kept the blade trained on her and frowned somewhat. "There's no way that you can possibly know a damn thing about me or what I am." He added, shaking his head.

She smirked at his feeling of being unsettled. He seemed to not believe she knew how he was, but that simple gaze had implanted her magic into him and she knew to him it only felt like a second's pass, when it was actually a good two minutes or so. "You are too passionate, you won't kill me unless you knew I killed things, even then you still won't unless I threaten your life, or an innocent's. You only kill if the need comes up, even then you wish not to kill them. Unless it was the killer of your family." She said with a smirk.

"Yes, I know your parents were killed. I also know you killed a few bandits because they would not stop their attack on you. I know the only other deaths you committed to the after life were purely by accident or as your knightly order stated, necessary." She said with a chuckle, relaxing while she was on the ground. She even had the look of not being threatened by his blade pointed at her. "But I don't think I will sit by and let such an honorable fight pass me by." She said, taking her gauntlet and smacking the blade away and leaping up, moving away. She backed away from the soldier and held her sword to the side, her right hand held up like a claw. She smirked at him, preparing to strike at him once more, this time to kill rather than to stale.

She was beginning to know far too much about what has went on in Heishiro's life. Far, far too much. Just listening to her delve this far into his life was beginning to upset him to levels that she would soon regret. He didn't know who this woman was or how she came to know anything in his life, but goddammit, he was getting pissed.

However, that anger would soon turn to shock when she spun out of her current predicament then prepared to come after him again. Once more, he felt his adrenaline shoot through the roof as she charged at him, causing him to step back a few steps and let her come after him. Heishiro was now fully focused, and now, she was going to pay for reading his mind like that.

Calculations began to form, and judging from the angle she was now taking towards him, she was now poised to kill him rather than just try to feint. It then would take longer than a second on a clock for him to make his decision on how to act. After bringing out his broadsword Silent Moon to the front, Heishiro immediately parried the attack to divert it to her to the right, the resounding scrape of steel singing through the forest.

Heishiro would then follow up quickly by throwing his entire body weight into a hard shoulder tackle, knocking her straight back to the ground. "You're not going to beat me that way, mind reader." He snarled afterwards, aiming his eyes at her with slowly bristling anger.

When she was hit she leaped back, landing on her free hand and doing a back flip, she regained her stance, one hand on the ground the other holding the blade back and to the side. She looked up at him and wondered how he could perceive her attacks so well. She needed to figure out another way around this fight. She then heard the raven caw in the sky and thought of an idea. He seemed to be able to calculate where she was going to swing at him from, but maybe if she got in at him with a surprise angle he would see her attack soon enough to counter it. She smirked and would soon initiate her plan.

She made a dash at him once again, then let out her own caw as she got closer. The raven would then swoop down and strike at his face as a distraction, but would also stay out of harms way, as she went in for an side ward arc attack first, as a fake, and her real attack would come from her clawed-gauntlet. She had two distractions, the fake attack and the black bird, and would attempt to claw at his mid-sides, trying to rip any flesh she could get a hold of.

This was something Heishiro wasn't exactly prepared for, but once more, he let the move commence. As he saw the raven approach him, he realized that this was only part one of the distraction that was laid out before him as a ways of trying to disrupt the amount of information that was flying at him all at once. Strangely, he stayed perfectly still and let the raven swoop past him by quickly crouching down and then laid his eyes on the woman who was now coming straight for him.

Again, he stayed right there and spotted the fake sideways arc. The real attack was coming at him by that clawed gauntlet she had on her opposite hand. She was planning on aiming it for his midsection, from how he perceived it. Reacting quicker than a hiccup, Heishiro this time lurched forward from his crouched position and moved to her left, narrowly escaping the intended attack on him and dug Silent Moon's blade into the dirt to quickly pull himself up, take the broadsword out of the dirt and slammed the pommel of the sword into her back with a heinous amount of force, growling furiously.

She smirked at his movements. He was very perceptive, and she wondered how he could do all of this. As he swung the pommel at her, her armor seemed to shift and covered over the part of her back the sword hit on her, preventing any serious damage or even any stunning effect. She then quickly launched her knee up to his midsection, in an attempt to stun him. He was reading ever one of her moves, so a straight forward attack wouldn't work. She needed to find a way to get him to the forest's edge more and use the trees to her advantage in a fight against him.

It seemed as long as he could keep an eye on her, he could tell what she was doing. She figured if she could get an attack at him with her fierceness straight out but hiding the attack to the last moment, she could get a hit in, but as long as they were in the open that was not possible. The knee strike was suppose to be a feint, but she was aiming it true enough to use as a normal attack. She would make him move away and then try and lead him to the forest as best she could. She would do this by swinging an onslaught of attacks and make him move back, if that doesn't work she would simply let him chase her.

Maybe Heishiro didn't have that scouted as much as he liked, but at least he had shown her that she had to do much in order to throw him off guard. The knee thrust she was now trying to shove into him in an effort to stun him, however, would've nearly worked if he hadn't brought up a knee of his own to stop her there. Once the knee was blocked, Heishiro thought about going in for another hard knockdown with little wasted motion, but seeing her suddenly unleash a flurry of attacks not long afterwards told him immediately to take the defensive rather than offensive.

The sources of information that she was using for each swing she made from there was now rushing past him like a river, containing angles, velocities and range. She was trying to make him push back with these types of swings, but to where? More importantly, he was getting rather annoyed with the fact that he was now being forced into moving around step by step and inch by inch. Eventually, Heishiro willed himself to stay as rigid on his feet as he possibly could, resumed keeping his eyes aimed on her and waited for the right opportunity to strike back and hard enough to put her down - hopefully - for good. As before, Heishiro was now bobbing and weaving through her string of offense, not really seeing much of an area to hit her right back.

She smirked as she saw the treeline was close enough now and stopped her string of slashes and leaped back. She held a defensive for about a second or two and then leaped over her adversary and into the trees. She went into hiding now, standing behind a tree on a high branch. She knew exactly where her enemy was at still, and would wait on this one. He was truly remarkable, being able to catch sight of all her attacks, and predict what she would do next. But she knew, not even he could have predicted her motivation to move him here.

She placed her sword in another tree, set there as a distraction when it would shine light off the blade. She was in another tree, preparing to do a sneak attack on her enemy when they chance presented it self. She would do the smallest attacks if need be, giving him cuts and bruises if that was all she could pull off, but it wouldn't bother her much, it would add up if she got enough hits, and toying with her victims was so much more fun than killing them off in one single blow.

Again, Heishiro continued to duck, bob and weave his way through her continued string of attacks until he finally saw his one opportunity when he doubled back and assumed a defensive posture. Soon afterwards, Heishiro shifted his stance and took on a more offensive position before taking a run at her to finally unleash some hell on her. But as soon as he remotely got close enough to do so, he would soon find that she suddenly took off into the trees and all Heishiro could do was watch with a scowl on his face, cursing himself that he wasn't able to keep up with her.

"Dammit!" He growled quietly as he glanced around, seeing her disappear into the branches. Whoever this woman was, she was definitely not human. Something was making her keep coming after him and he was going to find out what. For now, Heishiro had to keep his guard up and positioned Silent Moon out in front of him as he soon glanced around with his eyes, pondering as to where she might have gone. He didn't catch the glint of her sword yet, but something told him that she had to be close. Very slowly, Heishiro would then resheath the blade back into its scabbard but didn't rehook the strap to keep it in place. Something else told him that he would need to be wary of his surroundings here now that he was pushed into this area.

She was moving all over the forest now, moving with unnatural speed and movement all in one. Being a Faerie, her natural element was in the forest, no matter how she used it. She would shift in and out of the surroundings, using the trees and dense space to her advantage. She would come out at the right time now and cut the fabric on the back of his shirt and she would be gone into another tree once more, coming out of a branch down on her enemy to slash him once more with her claw, it missing this time though.

She pushed off the ground and disappeared behind a tree. "Having troubles, Knight?" She questioned, her voice an echo rather than an emanation from her vocal cords. "Can't defend your self to greatly with your precognition, can you?" She asked, her echo a mocking tone to all who heard it. "This forest will soon become your death!" She added on, her voice unable to be pinpointed now.

It was absolutely unbelievable as to how well she was moving! It was almost as if she was phasing in and out of the trees altogether in an effort to keep away from his primary advantage! A few times, he felt something catching him in the back, but it was hardly enough to inflict any real damage on him. As a matter of fact, all it was really doing was pissing him off to a greater degree, right to the point of him going absolutely beet-red in the face with anger, especially with her mocking tone of voice just taunting him through the forest.

"I don't know just who you are or what you're purpose is for attacking me, you annoying little cunt, but I swear on the graves of my father and mother that you are going to wish that death was coming to you by the time I'M FINISHED WITH YOU!!!" Heishiro's voice began slowly boil into a furious roar of anger. Right after he screamed, he then redrew Silent Moon, the blade feeling his anger channel right through the hilt, causing it to shimmer with the rage of his soul. He then decided to take this anger out on the first thing that he could see in his blind hatred and in one hard swing, the blade sliced through an adolescent tree like a hot knife through butter, felling it with the greatest of ease.

She smirked as his anger boiled inside of him. "That's it, just build your anger more and more. Let it fuel your rage and power!" She called out, the sword flying through the air at his back as she had chucked it at him. She then came at him from a ninty degree angle to the sword's thrown path. Her hand started to glow brightly as her own soul fueled into the gauntlet she wore.

The clash of her gauntlet and his sword would cause an immense shock wave to all around them. When they clashed, she would grip his sword in her hand, calling or catching her own in her other hand. She would catch his blade to hold him in a stalemate while her other blade would swing at him at a low side-arch swing. She had a Soul Charge in her gauntlet, only a few people being able to do such a feat. She had learned how to do it through rage, and she was teaching the Knight how to do it as well. Other people learned it in different ways, some through self-sacrifice, others through acts of courage.

Somehow, that danger sense of his was now screaming at him once more right after he heard the woman speak, due to the fact that he heard whistling steel beginning to head his way. Turning back, he could now see that woman's blade flying his way. Reacting on the instinct to get out of the way, Heishiro would do just that, rolling out of the blade's intended path. Right when he got back onto his feet, however, the next thing he felt was her grabbing his blade to hold it there.

It wouldn't be long for him to notice that her blade had now returned to her hand and was now intending to use it on him with a low and horizontal angle. Heishiro was now being pushed to the limit and then some, his rage beginning to build to an even higher level than even he began to anticipate. The strange thing about it though, was that while his rage was still prominent, the focus he had ever since this began was still there.

Soon afterwards, Heishiro's next move was something that other mere humans would have an extreme amount of difficulty with. When her sword was just seconds away from coming into contact with his legs, Heishiro would then arc his body sharply in the opposite direction she was swinging in, vaulting right over the blade and landed right back onto his feet into a crouched position. This in turn, would cause the blade to twist right out of her grip and become free.

Finally, Heishiro had now had enough of this damned stalemate. He was now going to end this once and for all, even if it meant that he had to kill her in the process. From his crouched position, Heishiro held Silent Moon back, the blade beginning to shimmer once again with the same amount of energy that was flowing through it previously. However, it seemed as though that he did not move for maybe a few seconds before he lurched forward suddenly and swung Silent moon far more explosively than it had ever been used from a low to high diagonal arc. That however, was an intentional fake. For his true intention on the attack was to get her back on defense while he jumped high into the air and brought Silent Moon back over his head, growling with an intense look of fury in his eyes. Flames were now seen roaring from the blade as he then swung the blade with all of his might, threatening to split her cleanly down the middle with this extremely high-powered downward vertical slash.

She watched his movements, capturing what she could from him and then leaped back once she lost grip to his weapon. She continued to watch his attacks, dodging his diagonal slash and held her blade up to block his next attack. She caught his fake by a whim, but to her luck she also caught how much power he had in his true attack. She then rolled back, trying to dodge the attack, and went into another tree. She came out behind him, trying to strike with the surprise once more but would fail this attack.

She had rushed in too fast, and his attention would be on her, and having already used her soul charge she had to wait a bit before using it once again. This would most likely be the final mistake she made in this fight, but she would attempt any means to survive if she could. She was now becoming desperate to kill this man, or to try and divert him to try and live for another fight some other day.

The resulting crash upon the ground Heishiro struck with Silent Moon was enough to create a three-foot-wide divot in the ground and the area surrounding it to tremble with the awesome fury that was projected from it, launching dirt and debris to fly high into the air as well. Aggravated that he had missed, all he could do from there was watch as she vanished from his sight once more.

However, he then felt that same danger sense kicking once again, causing his adrenaline to surge one more time. Glancing behind him, he could then see the woman trying to come at him from behind once again. However, Heishiro did the most unexpected thing. He then looked ahead of him once more and maneuvered the blade to rest at his back to catch her sword and deflect it by swinging Silent Moon over his head and to the ground in front of him.

"Wrong..." Heishiro began as he then turned around to face her and drove a high-impact knee into her stomach. "...fucking..." He added as he followed it up by shooting a gauntlet-covered fist out to tag her in the same region. "...MOVE!!!" He concluded, his time cocking the pommel of the sword back and drove it into her face with a resounding authority.

She grunted as her attack was deflected. She watched as her momentum threw her into his knee, making the impact that much harder, but her armor soaked up most of the hit, until the punch came right after. The armor was pushed more to her gut, causing the punch to have it's full effect. She gasped at the air as all of it was hit out of her body through her gut. She braced her self on her feet just as the sword came up on her.

She raised her hand and caught the pommel, gripping around his sword as best she could with his hand also there. "Stop there." She said, holding the tip of her sword into the ground to help hold her up. She then went down on a single knee, letting go of his blade. "You." She said, "You were the one. Or the descendant of the Knight who gave me a purpose, such a long time ago." She said. "You may have a different purpose now, but you still have his same prowess and drive." She informed. "I pledged my blade to him, and that means to you." She said, bowing her head as she stood on her knee, still recovering from the gut blow. She rested her hands on the hilt of her blade, which was stuck into the ground in front of her.
