"Just... Don't put a label on it, okay?" Remus asked, looking into his lover's eyes. "You're going away, to do something that you really want to do. And you're free to date and sleep with whoever you want, but don't say you're leaving us, okay? Not yet." He would be able to understand better if Gideon went away, and then came back in a few months or a few years after having doing some soul searching and said that he needed to leave their relationship permanently, but not right now. "And you have to write. Even if it's just once in a while, so we know that you're okay. And you have to call us when you get there." He felt like a parent more than a lover, but Remus didn't really care right then.

Gideon smiled and leaned up to kiss his cheek softly. "I know. I'm not leaving our relationship, I like that... soul-searching. I just need a couple months like you said." He nodded and kissed his cheek again before standing and going to hug the others, gripping them tightly. "I am going to leave in a week... I am sorry I waited so long to tell you but um... I was torn and ..." he sighed, gripping the three of them. "I will be back, you guys. I promise you. And I'll have a decision by that point, okay?"

Remus nodded, gripping Gideon around his waist tightly. He sniffled a little, sad that Gideon felt that he had to leave, but he was happy that he was following his dream. They'd followed their own, after all, and Gideon had followed them and supported them. Now it was their turn to do that for him.

The next week was rough for Remus. He didn't want to say goodbye, but he also knew that he couldn't ask Gideon to stay, either. He was sad, and had a hard time hiding it, even from the kids. So when Friday rolled around, he was glad that the offices were closed for the weekend. The brunette sought Gideon out, watching him once he'd found him. "Get dressed," he prompted softly, moving into the room. "Something nice. It's your last night before you leave. We should all go out to dinner tonight."

Gideon perked up when he head the other in the room. He was just double checking that everything was how he wanted it. He did not want to leave anything - other than the few things here and there. He made sure he brought the frames of his family and everything else. He turned to Remus and smiled warmly. He walked over and kissed his lips. "Undressed would be nice too." He admitted before he smiled and stepped away. "Okay, though." He said and walked over to his suitcase to pull out a nice suit for him to wear. "You're going to spoil me tonight, yea?" He asked, smiling more as he turned to look at the other.

He grinned. "Well, that will come after... You have to have dinner before dessert, right?" Remus kissed Gideon once more before leaving the room to find Pierce and Romulus to inform them about dinner. And he had to shower and get ready, too. It was only an hour later that he was once more seeking out his lovers, ready to go and have dinner.

Gideon and Romulus were sitting, chatting about what they should do, deciding where they would go, and even making sure that they would write. He gave them everything he knew about where he would be. The apartment and everything else that he had set up. Gideon lifted his head when he saw his loves, smiling.
Pierce walked behind Remus and hugged his shoulders, kissing his cheek. "Let's go to dinner."

Smiling, he turned his head and kissed Pierce while walking towards the other two men. Remus wanted to say something about them not contacting Gideon until he contacted them, but stopped himself. They were going to enjoy themselves tonight, no matter how sad the undertones were. "I always loved this suit on you," he commented, greeting Gideon with a kiss, and then Romulus, too.

They arrived at the little restaurant in the center of town and were seated immediately (Remus had called that morning for reservations). Wine and food was ordered as they chatted, Remus resting his head on Gideon's shoulder.

Gideon trailed his fingers through Remus's hair, kissing the top of his head after a moment. "I'm not going away forever." He said, turning and kissing his cheek. "A couple months minimum, okay? They could fire me once I get there anyway." He added and smiled lightly. He pulled him closer into his form and leaned against him some more. "You're acting like I'm going to leave and never come back. I... I can't do that. I won't do that. I just... need to be on my own to think for a while, okay?"

"I know," he answered softly. "But I can still be sad that you're leaving at all, and that you felt like you were just a spare lover for when we wanted something different." Okay so that wasn't exactly what Gideon had said, but they all knew that he was exaggerating. "I understand. I do. And I'm happy for you that you got this job opportunity. I'm just being selfish is all." Remus looked up and smiled at him. "We'll be okay." He meant that the four of them, as a group and as partners, would be okay.

"I know." He agreed and kissed the top of his head again. He hugged him and then let out a soft little sigh. He trailed his fingers through the other's hair and leaned back into the booth with a soft sigh. He nuzzled his head before perking up when their food came, smiling to the waiter. "Thanks." He said simply and then kissed Remus's cheek. "I do love you. All of you. And I'll call. And I'll write. And maybe I'll make a name for myself with some research." He laughed and then took a bite of his food.

"You're not allowed back until you do," he joked, laughing a little. Remus was grateful for the food. It allowed him to focus on something else, other than Gideon leaving. They chatted through dinner, mostly the three of them asking Gideon about the job and the apartment. Even though he'd told them a week ago that he was leaving, they'd all be in a kind of fog since then. At least for Remus, it was only beginning to sink in.

Through dinner, sex, and going on the plane, Gideon had the utmost of fun with his lovers and made sure that he kissed them a few more times before he left for the next year.

The year passed and Gideon had other lovers. Trying different types out, getting his work done, and actually getting to publish his study. He took his bags and went to surprise the threesome he left. He had thought about it. He realized that he wanted to be with them. He missed them badly. He had others but none compared. He was happy to go back. Dragging everything that he had brought with him back and practically running to the house.

Walking up to the door, he pushed it open and took a few steps inside. "HONEYSS! IM HOME!" He chimed, looking aroudn and biting his bottom lip, waiting to hopefully be greeted. Hopefully with hugs and kisses, not anger. Oh he hoped they would be happy to see him!

His head perked up when he heard the front door open. Remus was sitting in the living room with a book open in his lap, which was promptly dropped to the floor when he heard Gideon's voice. The brunette scrambled up and rushed to the front hall, throwing himself at Gideon completely. The first few months had been difficult for them all, and while it got a little easier with each passing day, Remus had missed Gideon terribly. The three had brought in other lovers, but most were short term; the novelty of having three lovers wore off quickly it seemed. "Why didn't you tell us you were coming home?" he asked, hugging the man tightly. "Are you here for good?" Remus couldn't help asking, even if it was out of selfishness.

"I wanted this reaction!" He laughed, holding onto the other and twirling around with him, kissing his lips before he had Romulus attached to his side as well. He pulled him tighter and kissed him as well, holding his wonderful little twins. They were perfect. He loved them so much. He was so glad that he knew now that he was not an extra. That he was part of them. With them. He nuzzled their heads and nodded. 'mhm. I'm going to be here forever. Stay here." He whispered, kissing their heads and sighing a little more. "Sorry that I haven't called in a couple weeks. I was packing and tying up ends and... I had to be sure it'd be a surprise! I would have squealed otherwise."

"We...Okay, I was ready to fly out there and find you." He leaned up and kissed Gideon again, nuzzling along the man's neck after. "We're so glad you're home, Gideon. We missed you." Remus nuzzled into their lover a little more before stepping away so that he could breathe, and walk further into the house than the front door. "How was England? We saw your study got published! I didn't understand any of it, but that wasn't the point..." Remus jabbered on as he lead both Gideon and Romulus into the living room.

Gideon gripped Romulus and took a hold of Remus's hand while they walked. "Yes! I was so happy that it got published! I mean, I get no money out of it, but well... it's still nice." He laughed and leaned into Romulus before leaning over to kiss Remus with a happy sigh. "Where's Pierce? I really want to see him!" He looked around, trying to find where his little king was.

"He's off in court right now. Apparently there was a big hubub about... farming or something." Rom shrugged and kissed his cheek, squeeing softly and holding his arm tightly.

They fell into the sofa together, Gideon in between them and Remus still babbling about nothing in particular. But as the surprise wore off, reality began to set in and Remus squirmed a little. "Um... We need to talk..." He worried his lower lip with his teeth and began to wring his hands together. "See... Well, a few months ago, we-Rommy, Pierce and me, were out for the night and we met this really cute guy and we saw him a few times after that and then... Well he-"

Remus couldn't finish before another male walked into the living room, stretching his arms above his head. A sliver of his pale flesh was showing between the bottom of his shirt and the waist of his pants. The man stopped when his eyes opened after stretching, and they turned to the trio on the sofa. "Who the hell are you?" he directed towards Gideon.

Gideon arched a brow and looked at his loves, both who seemed to be upset about something. And then he saw what. The redhead straightened and his eyes narrowed on the man that was there. "I could as you the same.' He huffed, a soft growl passing his lips. "Who the hell are you?"

"Er... That's the thing..." Romulus said, clearing his throat and taking a hold of Gideon's hand, smiling gently. "This is Calix he sort of.... er..." He looked over at Remus, wanting help with how to explain this. "We didn't replace you just um... Tried other lovers and he... Remus?"

"He hasn't gotten bored yet?" he offered, giving a nervous half smile to Gideon. "The few others did after a few months! And...well, we thought he would too... But...he didn't...so..." Remus stood up and tugged Gideon up, too. With his arm firmly around the man's waist, he stepped towards Calix. "This is Gideon. We told you about him."

The brunette studied the man in between the twins hard. "He left. You said he left you. Why would you allow someone who hurt you back into your life?" he asked, voice calm as always, but his distaste for the redhead was obvious to everyone. "You can leave," he said to Gideon. "You don't deserve them."

Gideon arched a brow as he looked at the brunette. He snorted as he heard his words. "I did not leave. I did not leave them. I temporarily went to London to work on my career and sort my thoughts. We were not broken up. IT was a break. I've had others, they've had others. But we were not broken up." He pulled the twins closer to his sides instinctively, not liking this at all. Not one bit!

"Because that's any different!" he answered hotly. "You left them! You don't need to be here anymore. They've done perfectly well without you and obviously so I have for the entirety of my life!"

Remus groaned and stepped forward a little, in between the two men. "Stop it! Just stop. We love Gideon. We all understood that he had to leave for a little while and we all understood that he would be welcome back here-to our house and our life-whenever he wanted to come back." The twin turned to Gideon. "And... Calix is nice. A little over protective, but nice... Maybe we can all have dinner tonight, right?" he asked, hopeful. "It was just a shock for both of you!"

Gideon growled, his top lip pulling back as he glared at him, growling a little more. He took in a deep breath and looked down at his love, listening to him and nodding a few more times. "Okay. Fine. I'll be civil." he said, leaning down to kiss his cheek. "I'm going to go put my things away." He added and turned to walk over to where his trunk was left by the doors.

Romulus sighed softly and looked over at Gideon before back to Remus and Calix, puffing his cheeks out a bit. "PLease be nice to him, Cal? We love him still."

He huffed, crossing his arms over his chest. "That's pathetic. He left. Who does that? Someone who doesn't want to be with you! He needs to go! You're not the only two who live here and I don't want him here!" Calix pouted a little, knowing he was being pathetic but not really caring much. He didn't like that man from everything his three new lovers had told him.

Remus grew angry at that, and turned on Calix. "You do live here, and we like having you. But we love Gideon and if you can't be civil to him and try to get to know him, then you can leave!"

Romulus narrowed his eyes, glad his brother voiced what he had been thinking. He nodded. "He has been our lover for decades, centuries... We have children with him. We will never turn him away." He warned, sighing softly and shaking his head a few times. He then turned to Remus and smiled. "I'm going to go help him unpack. Pierce said he would bring home some dinner from the chef at the palace." He kissed Remus's lips then turned to walk up the stairs and help Gideon.

His jaw dropped. How could they be so foolish. Fuming, Calix left the room, muttering to himself a bit. He would find a way to make them see what he saw... He would be the last of the two standing.

Remus sighed. He wanted to go after Calix, to talk to him, but they'd all learned in their short time together that the man needed time and space to cool down when he got like this. And so instead he made his way upstairs to help Romulus and Gideon. Slipping into the room, Remus slid his arms around Gideon's waist from behind, hands splaying over his flat stomach. "He really does mean well," he offered softly.
