Tanner groaned, still unconscious, as Calder rushed in behind Relic. He'd taken the other side of the street and had heard his brother-in-law's scream. "Shit!" The blond rushed over and was kneeling on the ground, checking for a pulse. A very faint wave of relief passed through him when he found it, but knew that they didn't have much time. Calder stood and helped Relic to his feet, calling for Rune and the car in the same breath. "Come on," he urged, bending down to gently lift Tanner into his arms. "Open the door?" he asked Relic, sliding into the back seat with his friend once he had.
Pulling up just as the other car did, Jupiter swore under his breath. "I swear I have never met a family who gets the shit kicked out of them more." He directed Calder into the house and quickly had him get Tanner upstairs and stripped on the bed, barking orders for wash cloths and water, and whatever else he needed.
